Love on the Brain - masterlist
MCU x Criminal Minds crossover
Pairing: Steve Rogers x reader, (slight allusions to past Spencer Reid x reader)
Summary: You found menacing pictures of you friend, colleague and neighbour Steve in your mailbox.
Someone might play it off as a bad joke, but you were an agent for the Avengers Initiative and a former FBI agent. You’ve seen cases like this and you were taking no chances. Not with Steve of all people.
But you were going to need help; enter the BAU.
Tumblr media
Characters to appear: Steve Rogers, ‘reader’, Natasha Romanoff, Tony Stark, Aaron Hotchner, Spencer Reid, Emily Prentiss, Penelope Garcia...
Setting: slight AU, before Avengers: Age of Ultron and Criminal Minds season 7

There shall be more - one-shots, two-shots... maaaaaaby a sequel, we’ll see
Taglist open🥰 divider by firefly-graphics 😍
A/N: If you have trouble seeing some of chapters, it might be because of your community labels settings - some chapters are given a MATURE label because of violence or other mature content.
Tumblr media
ONE/TWO SHOTS (post Love on the Brain storyline; in chronologic order, not in order of posting):
Cookies and Spark(le)s ...you earn your nickname (PREQUEL)
Paperweight...Sparkles is helpful during drool-worthy work out (PREQUEL)
(Love)Sick ...Sparkles gets sick
Missing Home ...Steve goes on a mission while Spakles is stuck recovering
No pressure part 1 // part 2* - ...the teams celebrate, you and Steve need to talk... and f*ck at last
Look Out *(ish) ...training goes awry
Hot Boy Summer *(ish) ...Steve it is pretty hot by the private Tower’s pool
Cracks in Foundation ...Steve’s PTSD sends him spiralling into a flashback
DIRTY HEADCANONS* (and a drabble) with no precise timeline
Tumblr media
A/N: You don’t need any particular knowledge of Criminal Minds to read this (though you’ll understand better if you watched, of course).
Just know that the BAU is a specialized FBI unit: profilers. They deal with nasty crimes commited by ‘unsubs’ – unknown subjects – whom they track based on their victims and crimes.
I’m working under assumption that more people aren’t familiar with Criminal Minds rather than with the MCU, so I made little something for you to put face to the name. I tried to make them fun, because despite the darkness in the show, there are big ‘team as family’ vibes and their quips are the highlight of the show for me 🥰
Pics and descriptions under the cut:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(to the CM fans - yes, these are simplified... I could gush around each of the characters and the ones from other seasons for hours)

Had some random thoughts in the shower about the Bridgerton couples lmao. What if they were placed in K-drama tropes?
Anthony would be the brooding CEO chaebol type who'd meet his match in spirited self-made entrepreneur Kate. Sparks and tensions fly as they compete, one-upping each other in terms of business. One night they get stranded together as a storm raged around them. They come to a truce and end up talking about their lives and dreams, falling in each other's arms as the night progresses. They fall in love and get married in the end, merging their companies. A power couple drama with a slow-burn romance.
Artsy Benedict keeps his chaebol status under wraps. He meets Sophie in art college and they have the classic "me and you against the world" romance; a rich guy falling for the poor girl despite everyone's judgments. They later learn Sophie is a long-lost heiress thrown out as a young child by her scheming stepmother to take her inheritance. Sophie gets what is rightfully hers and marries Benedict. A somewhat cheesy melodrama that we all love and need in our lives.
Colin and Penelope are childhood friends who lose contact when Penelope moves away due to her family getting embroiled in a scandal. They reunite in their adult years. They become friends once more, and romance blossoms between them. Things get complicated when Colin learns that Penelope is the brains behind an anonymous hacker his IT company had been hunting all this time. They manage to put everything behind them and collaborate as a dynamic duo instead. Cutesy romance at first but becomes angsty and glorious at the end.
Daphne is a celebrity who gets tainted with internet gossip. She goes into a contract relationship with Simon, an old money chaebol who swore to destroy the family legacy due to daddy issues. They fall in love, but Simon's self-made oath hurts their romance and results in one of the most scandalous celebrity breakups ever. They end up together, with Simon selling off the company and starting his own business. A drama that will make everyone swoon.
Eloise is a rebellious heiress who runs away from her responsibilities. She and Philip had a meet-cute in a foreign country but do not see each other again until years later. They end up living together in the same house due to a mix-up; Eloise signs an ironclad lease around the same time Philip inherits the house due to his brother's sudden demise. Add Philip's new wards (a cute nephew and niece) to the mix. A fun romcom with just the right dash of drama.
Francesca is a good girl from a rich family who accepts her duty and arranged marriage with John, who she has known all her life as a friend. Unfortunately, John dies before they get married, and the arrangement passes on to the next heir, Michael, who she met in their younger years but does not know much about. Michael, on the other hand, fell in love with Francesca at first sight but is disheartened by the arrangement made by their families. He stays away, only to be pulled back into the same arrangement he resented when his cousin died. This could be a sizzling period drama, with lots of pining and angst.
Gregory falls in love at first sight with Hermione and enlists the help of her friend Lucy. Over time his affection turns to Lucy instead, but Lucy is arranged to marry a chaebol who helped her family's ailing company from crashing to the ground. Gregory interrupts the wedding at the last second, revealing that the chaebol's family intends to create a hostile company takeover through marriage to Lucy. He saves the girl and they live happily ever after. This one has rom-com vibes all over, with a splash of action at the end.
Hyacinth is a law student who dreams of becoming a prosecutor. Gareth, her frenemy in law school, is the only remaining son of one of the richest men in the country. His father stripped him of his inheritance due to unknown reasons. They collaborate to find the truth, falling in love with each other during their investigation. They learn the truth of his paternity. Gareth is his uncle's illegitimate son, who left all of his riches in trust for Gareth. His father took over that trust to fund his failing company. Hyacinth files a case for Gareth, and wins. Legal romcom drama? Sign me up.

Character Mixes Part 1/?: Frost and Cabba
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SIDE A: FROST Liar boy, once the heroic apple of everyone's eye. A bit of spunky.
Ghost Rule - DECO*27 (Hatsune Miku) Oh No! - MARINA Bubblegum B!tch - MARINA Eighth Wonder - Lemon Demon Michelle - Sir Chloe Suck It Up - MARETU (Hatsune Miku) Goodbye, My Danish Sweetheart - Mitski
(A/N: Honestly there was a lot in the MARINA discography that could work for him. "Toxic" would be too predictable, but don't think it wasn't considered. The Mitski at the end is a bit soft comparatively for his vibes, but oomph it was too good to leave out.)
SIDE B: CABBA Playing hero prodigy isn't the easy road, especially when your heart gets toyed with along the way. Burnt out protagonist syndrome.
despair - leo. Sweet Hibiscus Tea - Penelope Scott Hey Kids - Molina Turn Off the Lights - Panic! At The Disco Rose-Colored Boy - Paramore Juliet - Cavetown Stay Soft - Mitski
(A/N: "Stay Soft" was one I was iffy on including. I know the intended implications of the lyrics, but, aside from the one line near the beginning, I felt I could use a secondary interpretation for this sort of context. Now that I'm thinking about it, it could work for Kale too.)
PART TWO: FRABBA Hearts have been stomped on, but why do they still beat for each other?
Never Ever Getting Rid of Me - Waitress soundtrack (Christopher Fitzgerald and Kimiko Glenn) House of Memories - Panic! At The Disco Lies - MARINA Judas (80s Version) - Gemyni (original by Lady Gaga) Duvet - bôa Masterpiece - Motionless in White (thanks anon!) Mary On A Cross - Ghost Fairytale - Alexander Rybak
(A/N: I've had many variants of the good old Frabba jams, but this is the current combo I've been vibing with lately. Got a lot of other stray songs in my playlist that hit the vibe to different extents, sparking animatics/edits in my brain. Might share later. However, I will give you that All That Matters from RWBY Volume 5 goes with their reunion in "Shattered Ice".)

hi woosh i have a lot of ships.
- alaynabella hollywood/magi ruiz. i call it moviemagic bc i am a loser who likes puns too much. idk they’re so. they are so girls who necromance together (struggle to) stay together. trips and spills my pile of wips where magi ruiz does something really unethical or dangerous to make people proud of her. i have a whole moviemagic tag for them
- alaynabella hollywood/goodwin morin. what if we were the best batter and the worst pitcher and we didn’t understand each other for most of a season, until suddenly we did. what if we got together right before the game pulled us apart and we tried for so long to make it work. and it did, until it didn’t.
- york silk/oliver loofah/magi ruiz. absolute fucking disaster polycule. york shells olive and takes away one of the only people magi has really connected to. she gets pecked out and they reconnect even though liv has to travel up from charleston. york comes to seattle and olive skips town for a few weeks to get away from him (she can’t stop remembering that MaX is still in the shell xe echoed.) magi is mad that york has fucked up her friendcrush AGAIN. magi “world’s most hypocritical necromancer” ruiz says why didn’t you stay dead. york “necromanced former child star” silk says is what what you said to chorby (chorby who just died for a third time). they fight fight kiss kiss. simultaneously york and olive have very similar weird complexes about growing up. also york is aware his time is running out and he wants to make some sort of amends. they also fight fight kiss kiss. the three of them together are like. york needs people who don’t just constantly praise him like he’s still that can-do-no-wrong kid in hawai’i. magi needs people who can be her shoulder angel and devil (they trade who’s who often). olive needs people who understand the pressure of being new to adulthood and trying to shake off people’s expectations. wow this one got long ANYWAY they’re so fucked up
- york silk/ruffian applesauce. this is a dumbass teenage romance sparking from a game where they both hit a bunch of home runs. it ends abruptly when ruffian fucking dies. it awkwardly continues when york also dies. it ends abruptly AGAIN when york un-dies and ruffian just sits in the hall forever. if romeo and juliet were also orpheus and eurydice. you know?
- SO many short circuits garages ships.
ajax black/nevaeh flapper is “romantic tension over a blackjack game while the universe explodes”
didi müller/oliver mueller is “quit your job. join my punk band. explore space with me”
cravel larue/alice day is “loser boyfriend x loser girlfriend”
francois fisher/ygritte valdrada is “weird bisexual goth power couple”
i have more. i have so many more. i don’t have time to write blurbs for them all but there’s magi ruiz/clare ballard ii, sparks beans/carmelo plums, penelope mathews/liquid friend vi (aka “vienna”), probably more i’m forgetting lmao
Hooooooooooooooooooly shit okay let’s get into it
Layna and Magi - well known and loved. Absolute fucking disasters. Absolutely end game. It’s movie magic, baby! It all works out in the end! (aka, it Never fucking works out because there is no end)
Goodwin and Layna - OHOHOHOHOHO. I like the interp where ego affects everyone with it differently but by stage 4 you’re pretty much a walking stereotype, with Goodwin becoming more and more of a shell of herself (“isn’t this what everyone wanted? Isn’t this the dream? Don’t you love me? I’m a star player!!!!!!!!” vibes) and losing her personality to the ego. Layna “I love you and I forgive you but I will never forget” Hollywood, who values family and trust over literally everything (see: movie magic) would not take kindly to this, but also she knows that this is not Goodwin, but also can’t she fight back, but also she’s doing the best she can, but also Layna Hollywood Never Forgets. And it’s too late by the time Layna decides to forgive and Goodwin is gone, because fuck you Layna you get nothing
York and Olive and Magi - Brendan Urie sucks but when he said “make up sex! break up sex!” he was talking about these three. It’s all revenge! It’s all passion! It’s all dangerous! It’s all wrong! York just wants to be human again and regain the life he built from the ground up in Halifax, Liv just wants her family to be okay, and Magi just wants her crushes to stop being given the finger. None of their intentions are pure but god are all of them cute as hell and in this world where you don’t know when the end is might as well kiss the pretty ones.
At this point I think Magi Ruiz has had a crush on every girl on the active roster (and some of the shadows) (and York Silk when he was experimenting with gender presentation). Also The Fall by Lovejoy is a Magi song, specifically a MovieMagic song.
Ruffian and York - what if in a very long and intense game you got obsessed over someone you used to know in a kind of fucked up way and he just wants a nap, oh my god but you saw the passion in his eyes as he threw that last pitch you absolutely slammed with your own passion and your teammates are looking at you funny again arent they. You are So Normal about this dude. So Normal, in fact, that you fucking explode! Also he never loved you sorry
God the SCs got gay didn’t they
Ajax and Naveah - you are the very thing I hate but that makes you hot, and it’s the end of the world so fuck it (literally)
Didi Ollie and Mike polycule when
Cravel and Alice - the world is going to end. I know exactly when it will. I cannot stop it. I cannot tell anyone. You are the only other person who knows. Kiss me.
Love me some goths
I mean my asks are open for a reason, but also you have my discord so feel free to infodump there! I enjoy your brain thoughts very much.

LAST SONG: Cruel Angel's Thesis from Neon Genesis Evangelion (the brainrot is real but the opening is a jam.)
CURRENTLY WATCHING: I am at the cinema watching the new Ghostbusters! But I'm also still watching Dungeon Meshi and I'm going to get round to the NGE rebuilt films. (I am generally very bad at watching TV shows.
THREE SHIPS: Oooh, my short attention span could never!
Um...
1.) AshEiji (Banana Fish), becuase I'm never not thinking about them. I still have like four unfinished fics in my notes for them.
2.) Hmmm probably Vanitas/Noe from Vanitas no Carte, because vampires! And idiots! And vampire idiots who can't deal with their emotions.
3.) The crossover ship that I just finished publishing on a03, Alice from Alice Madness Returns/P from Lies of P. I captain this ship now! They're both just incredibly interesting on their own, and together, even more interesting to explore!
FAVOURITE COLOURS: Red and Blue but apart from each other, if that makes sense.
CURRENTLY READING: I've just finished The Eyes of the Dragon by Stephen King; very good, very different voice for him, and very few Kingisms! I'm halfway through The Bell Jar too, but that's harder work...I also started Elle McNicoll's new book, Keedie, because I loved A Kind of Spark. (Yay, autism rep!)
CURRENTLY CONSUMING: pre-cinema Macdonalds
FIRST SHIP: Ahhhh, I have no idea?? I think the first ship I ever wrote for was Soul/Maka from Soul Eater, so maybe them?? Or the Fruits Basket crew??
PLACE OF BIRTH: Where Jane Austen was born 🤗
CURRENT LOCATION: Where Jane Austen hated living 🤗
RELATIONSHIP STATUS: Want a relationship, can't deal with dating apps.
LAST MOVIE: I re-watched Penelope (2007) whilst eating the other night; it's one of my very favourites. Definitely recommend!
CURRENTLY WORKING ON: Officially I should be writing the Indiana Jones has a daughter middlegrade novel for camp nanowrimo but that's not going well lmaoo. Also working on not-AshEiji celebrity AU, and toying around with a fancylad boyprince/tough loyal knight thing that has no plot but big vibes.
(And a KawoShin fic is deffo in the works!)
ppl to tag: anyone who feels like talking about themselves! But umm @duraraross and @howtotrainyourmerlin

I DO NOT OWN THIS GIF:
Tumblr media
My eyes couldn’t help but light up when I heard that swooning whistle that was like music to my ears. It made my knees weak and my face hot every time I heard it, eyes full of desire when Daniel walked past my table at the party, looking down at my dress and winking.
“Ooo,” Ricky whistled, sipping his drink; Hook having to add:
“Who you smiling at like that?”
“Smiling like what?” I tried to play off, but failed miserably.
“You act like we don’t know,” Ricky sighed, laughing at me.
Those two were like brothers to me, but ever since I started talking to Daniel, they either teased me or went into brother mode.
“You know, I’m always stuck with you two,” I noted, taking my drink and flipping my hair, “I’m going to hang with my girls.”
This club was really going, all of the girls out on the dance floor. I finished my drink first because with everyone on the floor, it was bound to be spilled. They knew how to put me in just the right mood to dance, the music flooding my ears and my brain absorbed every sound, taking control of me.
“About damn time you got out here!” Penelope smiled, taking my hand and guiding me to all of us girls on the dance floor, “Looks like you got eyes on you already.”
Even through a crowd of people, I could find Daniel’s eyes. I didn’t even make a move and he was watching with a smirk, waiting for more and I gladly gave that to him.
Penelope had already read my mind, twirling me around and giving me the little push I needed. The music flooded me all over again, my girls and I not afraid to dance, grinding with one another, truly having a fun time.
I ended up so lost in the music, confused with Penelope’s eyes popped with excitement, turning me around and when I felt familiar hands, I knew.
“Hope you saved some for me,” Daniel whispered in my ear, taking me away a bit while we swayed to the music.
His eyes were so alluring, the smirk on his face when I turned actually making my knees weak, but I matched his vibes, feeling how his fingers pressed deeper into my hips when I circled my hips nice and slow, grinding back into him, smiling:
“Think I’d give them my best when you’re here?”
“Your best, huh?” He smirked, licking his lower lip, “So nice of you to save it for me.”
“Wouldn’t want to give it to anyone else,” I turned to whisper back to him, a lush smile on my face while watching his reaction to my hips going round and round, able to feel is bulge grow with every touch and grind.
With smiles, we actually danced a little, but the temptations were vigorous, his hand sliding down to my inner thigh and keeping me against him; the only space between us being the arch of my back, his hands taking strong grips with a slight tremble.
“If you want a little more, all you have to do ask,” I giggled, a whisper past his ear, “Your hands are doing a lot of talking for you.”
“Actions speak louder than words,” He nibbled along my ear, “Just have this feeling that you’re going to say yes.”
Given the surroundings, I was able to blend in with all of the dancing, turning around and palming his hard on, smiling:
“Feeling all that, damn right yes is the answer.”
He knew how to blend in as well, but still bold and brave, a hand under my dress, squish my ass while his lips steamed against mine, “If we get off this dance floor, you can have an even better feel.”
“What are we waiting for then?” I giggled, informing when I felt him take another handful, “And I’m not wearing panties if you want to keep feeling.”
Given the invitation, his hand slid just a bit further, finger running through my folds and getting slicked, a soft bite capturing my lip and pulling a slight moan from me while it pushed into me slowly, the curling of his finger and a slight pump revealing the friction.
I could feel how he was fighting more urges, knowing we couldn’t do it right then and there. Nothing but dirty thoughts beaming through his eyes when he slipped out, keeping my hand while we snuck off of the dance floor.
Private dance room
Privacy was exactly what we need and despite that being a hands-off in the club, Daniel gladly made it ours, rushing in and locking the door.
“Are we even allowed in here?” I laughed and immediately got hit with heat, watching Daniel throw off his shirt and growl against my lips:
“Does it look like I give a fuck right now?”
I quickly shook my head, cupping his face and kissing hard, “But I know a fuck I do want to give right now.”
“I’m giving it to you,” He chuckled, quickly unbuttoning his pants, “You were tight around just my finger, let alone all this.”
“Ain’t my fault you keep turning me on,” I snickered, looking down and feeling his cock for myself, my hand having more than enough to explore and learn, “Now, you gonna give it to me or do I just have to use my hand?”
I got in a few quick strokes, still able to see able to see the heat in his face with the red neon lights against it, the salacity in his eyes beaming back into my gaze.
“You’re taking all of it,” He grinned, sending me back with giggles when he took my ankles and threw my legs up, giggles fading and converting into shrill; Daniel having the turn to laugh when I realized that was only half of his cock, the next shrill even louder when his hips smacked mine, “Every damn inch.”
The impact hit my stomach already, whimpering and enjoying it, squeezing him and able to feel every inch slide back down:
“Ooo, oh my god.”
“Squeezing the fuck out of me, Y/N,” He smiled, pushing my legs further away, hips putting immense amounts of power in every thrust, the chain straps of my chest falling, steaming skin unfamiliar to the coldness, making a breath seize on my chest, choking on moans.
“D-Daniel-l,” I choked, whining hard at his cock hitting every sensitive bump up to my deepest point, massive pressure smacking my clit, able to grab the back of his neck and pull him to a kiss, “I don’t think we’ll be able to stop with you fucking me this good.”
“I know how to lay it down, baby,” He was proud of, eyes turning to see one of my heels pop off, smiling against the moans hitting his lips, “Have fun trying to walk in those later.”
“I don’t care,” I cried, head dropping back when he pushed my legs forward, a pinch in my lower core, “I’m only worried about one thing right now!”
“What’s that, hm?” He toyed, knees hooking onto his shoulders, kisses leading to nips at my jaw and down my neck, hands taking a base on the back of the lounge booth, “Should’ve known the moment you put that ass on me that I’d end up fucking you like this.”
“Mhm!” I whined, gasping at my walls pulsating around him, all of the skin to skin more sensitive and hot, the coil that held my orgasm ready to snap, “I knew you’d be so fucking good!”
Momentarily he looked down, a proud chuckle along with our kiss while he kept pounding his hips into mine, giving almost no space, pointing out, “Got me trapped down here. Gonna cum already?”
I nodded quickly, words failing to form and turning into babbles, becoming harder to breathe, closing my eyes tight to try and focus, but seeing stars and white dots flying everywhere, that coil splitting like fragile hairs.
“I’m cuming, Danny!” That’s all I could get out before my mind was spent spiraling, nothing but moans flying when my hips jerked and I came undone, high off of the feeling.
“Got damn, baby,” He huffed, keeping my knees pinned against the couch, getting the last series of thrusts he had left in him, vision going from black to red and fixing on his face, a little worn, but still as sexy as usual.
“I never liked being impatient so much,” I cooed, smiling as I was given a kiss:
“I just can’t control myself around you.”

“We all grieve in different ways”
That—or whatever the actual quote was—would have made a much better episode title for 4x06 than “You're a Long Way From Home,” because our Trio was doing a lot of grieving.
Hope, in the almost-most Mikaelson way possible—leaving a trail of destruction (but no blood/bodies!)—and even without humanity, is still grieving the life—lives—she lost in order to defeat Malivore. This Hope inherently makes me nervous, and I was on edge the entire episode, fearing she’d do something she couldn’t come back from (yet she killed no one!) while she had her fun roadtrip with Clarke. (The therapy box really didn’t help, starting us off with…that 😳) I really hope Danielle is having a lot of fun playing this (disturbingly) happy Hope, because “our” Hope has far too little happiness in her life, and it’s got to be a relief for her to be out of that vicious “love, lose, grieve, repeat” cycle.
Lizzie, single-mindedly focusing on her dad, the father she believes has failed her over and over, is still grieving that lost childhood-that-could-have-been and the-father-he-could-have-been. Only another man’s daughter pulls her back from the brink of creating Dark Lizzie.
Josie, doing what she does best, trying to save/help/protect someone she loves, also at the expense of everything else in her life, is grieving the loss of her best friend and her father, both of which happened while she was celebrating with her girlfriend. So, unsurprisingly, she very nearly torpedoed her actual relationship in the process.
(Speaking of Finch, I felt so bad for her this episode; between Hope’s map trolling, Cleo’s “pep talk,” and Josie’s actual talk and actions, the group’s newcomer is back to being a pretty afterthought in Josie’s life. Somewhere over in Belgium, Penelope Park is sending the werewolf a spelled burn book and a bus ticket to a better life! And can we also talk about how Ethan, who’s been a supernatural and a Salvatore student for all of two minutes, but who is white, straight, male, and Lizzie’s boyfriend, is already a full-fledged member of the Super Squad, but Finch, who has been a werewolf for years and a Salvatore student for weeks or months now and all but defeated the pack’s Alpha in a challenge, but who is a woman, of color, who loves other women, and is Josie’s girlfriend, is still only called on when absolutely needed? Or, for that matter, how Cleo had to undergo initiation tests? Yes, there were extenuating circumstances that made sense for Cleo—she was new, and no one knew anything about her—but can we agree the optics look very bad?)
Kaleb was grieving his loss of trust among his friends, as well as his mentor, and, a bit predictably, tried to make things right and then shared Dr S’s bourbon with Jed before lying and going off all on his own rather than telling the squad what he’d learned. (Question: did Clarke call on Hope’s request, to lure the students away from the school—either into a trap, or so she could return to the school while it was Squad-less—or did he truly want to make sure the Argus was contained?)
Even Ted gets in on the action, grieving his poor life choices that have stranded him in Limbo without a coin for Charon. The fact he didn’t steal Oscar’s coin or renege on his promise to Landon shows his redemption truly is complete. Rest in Peace, Ted.
I’m torn about Alaric; on the one hand, I’d really like this death to stick, but at the same time, I don’t think the Trio can come back from Hope causing his death—as friends or otherwise, no matter how much Josie’s once-and-maybe-present love for Hope colors her view. Worse, I am afraid that, by having Alaric show up with Ted and Landon as they’re ready to go to Peace, the writers are going to have that arrival spark I’ve-accepted-my-fate Landon to transform into grand-gesture-nonconsensual-kiss Landon to go “save” Hope once again 🤢 (And…did anyone else get Malivore/Malidon vibes from Aria rather than Landon vibes? He seemed far harsher to Ted than I expected Landon to be, despite The Necromancer’s betrayal in the ice cream shop—but exactly how I’d expect Malivore to be in response to The Necromancer’s numerous betrayals of Malivore. Please, tell me Malivore is actually dead and that we’re moving on!?)
I feel like this show is constantly hamstrung by actor availability; for instance, Freya promised to be present for the birth of the world’s first tribrid, but instead she left the school as soon as she put Hope to sleep-death!?
That’s the other problem with Alaric dying; if Caroline can’t come back from her Merge quest—even for a blink-and-you-miss-it glance once her daughters’ father has died, nevermind as he lay there dying—who can run the school while leaving Caroline a convincing excuse to be gone? Alaric’s protégé, Dorian, despite his dislike for the supernatural (maybe with Emma? whose voice sounded suspiciously similar to the Triad lady on the phone with Hope at the end of 4x05 😳)? Alaric’s BFF, Damon? His wife has a job in town, so he’s presumably around, and he knows something about being a supernatural. Or Aunt Bonnie? Bonnie and Damon? Freya is another logical choice—if we can get past the anti-Mikaelson ethos of the school/Alaric—though hamstrung by actor availability; is she going to uproot Keelin and Nik? Or leave them? And somehow not have the rest of her family ever visit? (Kol and Davina, Bex and Marcel, and Vincent all have that same problem.) I’d honestly be happy with any of the above, if they can do them well and not require us constantly to suspend disbelief.
I mused in the comments of someone’s post last week that because Hope was a tribrid, and assuming the Klaus/hybrid rule applies (which it should, since Hope is ⅔ alive), she’d not only be able to have children, but because she was a tribrid, all of her descendants would also be immortal tribrids! She’d live to see her 200th-great granddaughter some day—except that it seemed too much, and nature would surely create a loophole to compensate. Me and my big mouth 😂
I never expected Cleo’s vision-tree to be the life/promise tree Hope and the twins planted before Hope turned 😳 What a punch to the gut. And after everything that happened, the worst moment of the episode for me was watching Hope cascade into ash and disintegrate when Cleo stabbed her 😭 Tear out my own heart and let it crumble into nothingness….
(The best moment…Josie’s midriff 😂 …and maybe the lightning. I know everyone loved the Hosie twirl—in matching red leather jackets, no less—but I can’t separate that from the heartless, brutal massacre of which it was a part.)

okay now im thinking about it so
instruments i think the bau would play:
hotch: acoustic guitar. he's just a very guitar person, you know??
spencer: piano. partially because of the sammy sparks episode but also because i just think he'd enjoy it
emily: violin. stereotypical rich kid instrument + i think it fits her vibe
penelope: ukulele. no explanation needed.
derek: drums or bass guitar. i don't really have a justification i just think it makes sense
jj: tries to play each of her friend's instruments but much prefers just hyping them up
rossi: pays other people to play music for him

alright but can i request a patron saint hotch loopy on day quill one shot?? bc i would love to read that even if it takes like 3 years to get around to it 🥺🥺🥺
did I get in the mood to write something cuddly and kind of silly with lots of Alex and Aaron: The Wonder Twins vibes???
yes I did. also I wrote over half of this on my phone during my break at work.
----------
“...so when you think about it colloquially, it’s perfectly acceptable to refer to the monster as Frankenstein, so-“
Alex moved Spencer’s glass of orange juice out of the way before he could knock it over with an overenthusiastic wave of his hand. “JJ, what are you doing?” she asked, exasperated.
JJ reached into her cereal bowl, picked up a couple of pieces, and tossed it into an empty mug. “There’s too much cereal in my lucky charms, I only wanted the marshmallows,” she said.
“You can’t eat just marshmallows, Jennifer.”
“I’m not. I got donuts too.”
“Hotch wasn’t here to stop her,” Emily snickered.
Alex sighed. “Where is Hotchner?” she said. “It’s not like him to be late.”
“He said he slept through his alarm and he’d meet us here,” Derek said, stabbing his fork into a hashbrown.
“That’s also not like Hotch,” Alex said. She caught Spencer before he could topple out of his chair onto the floor. “Darling, I’m so glad you’re this enthusiastic at seven in the morning, but please sit down.”
Spencer obeyed, sliding down from his knees to sit on his bottom. “I got the wrong juice, I don’t like this kind,” he said. “I got the kind with pulp.”
“Why didn’t you get the kind you like?” Alex asked.
“Hotch gets it for me because I’m too short to see the labels. I didn’t know what I was getting myself into.”
Alex pulled her phone out of her skirt pocket. “He hasn’t texted me or the group chat,” she said. “It’s not like him to be late.”
“Should we be worried? I feel like we should be worried,” Penelope said.
“We don’t need to worry,” Alex said. “Spencer, what are you doing?”
“Getting the pulp out of my juice. I shouldn’t have to chew juice.”
“Please put the spoon down.”
“I’ll get you juice,” Penelope promised.
“Thank you,” Alex said. “And can you please get something for JJ that isn’t dehydrated marshmallows?”
“I like them.”
“Eat a fruit, Jennifer!”
Derek paused as Penelope left the table. “Uh...we might need to worry about Hotch,” he said.
Alex twisted around in her seat to look behind her. “Oh, fuck,” she sighed.
Hotch’s tie was knotted wrong, leaving one end of the tie dangling by his belt buckle, and his blazer was misbuttoned. His dark hair flopped over his eyes, still sleep-mussed, and his backpack was unzipped. “Hey, guys,” he said. “Sorry I’m late.” He tried to hang his backpack on the empty chair next to Alex but missed completely, sending it crashing to the floor. “Well, shit.”
“What the hell is wrong with you, dude?” Emily said.
Hotch blinked. “I overslept,” he said, rubbing his ear. “What time is it?”
“Almost time to go to homeroom,” Alex said. “Are you okay?”
He kept rubbing his ear. “Huh?” he said. He sat down heavily next to Alex. “Yeah, yeah, I’m okay. Do I have time to eat?”
JJ slid her mug of cereal over to him. “You can have the rest of my lucky charms,” she offered.
Hotch scooped a handful of dry cereal into his mouth and frowned. “What happened to all the marshmallows?” he asked.
“I ate them.”
“You can have my juice,” Spencer offered.
Hotch reached around Alex, picked up the glass, and took a swig. “Ugh, there’s stuff in it,” he complained. “I don’t want to chew my juice.”
“That’s what I said!” Spencer said.
Alex frowned. “I don’t think you’re okay,” she said. She touched the back of her hand to his forehead. “Yikes, Aaron. You’re burning up.”
“Hm?” he said. He coughed, a thick sound rattling deep in his chest. “I’m okay. I drank like...half a bottle of DayQuil.”
“I can tell,” she said, poking at the damp orange stain on his uniform shirt. He squinted down at it and frowned. “Also, drinking half a bottle of DayQuil doesn’t mean you’re okay. I think that’s the opposite of okay.”
“I’ll be fine,” Hotch said. “I have a test in second period I can’t miss.”
Emily caught his arm across the table. “Stop, stop, stop,” she said. “Do you know you’re about to pour your juice into your cereal?”
Hotch paused long enough for Alex to carefully take the glass out of his hand while he blinked in confusion. “Maybe you should make up the test later,” she suggested.
“No, I can handle a test,” he said. He blinked, then clapped a hand over his face. “Oh, shit. I think I only put one contact in this morning.” He rubbed the heel of his palm into his eye. “Shit. Aw, yikes.”
“You need to go back to bed,” Alex said. “Or the nurse’s office.”
He swatted at her hand. “No, I don’t, Alexandra,” he said. “It’s just a chest cold. Stop treating me like Spencer.”
Spencer scowled. “I think I’m insulted by that,” he said.
Alex put Spencer’s fork back in his hand. “Eat your breakfast,” she said. “Listen, Hotch, I can’t stop you if you want to go to class. But nobody’s going to judge you if you stay in your room and rest.”
Hotch coughed into his elbow. “I’m gonna get a Red Bull,” he said, pushing himself out of his chair and nearly knocking it over in the process.
“Oh, he’s definitely sick,” Derek said. “You hear his Virginia accent coming out? He sounds like Colonel Sanders.”
“Don’t worry, Al, I’ll keep an eye on him,” Emily said.
“Thanks,” she said. “Spencer, you have to drink your juice. You and Hotch have no immune systems and if he gets sick, you’re going to get sick, and I can’t deal with both of you coughing up a lung.”
“Yes, ma’am,” Spencer said. “Although vitamin C-“
“Drink your juice.”
By the time breakfast was over Alex was confident that Hotch wasn’t going to last the whole day. His cough was deep and persistent, and he kept absentmindedly rubbing his ears. She couldn’t exactly blame him- she’d pulled similar stunts herself when a big test or project was coming up- but this was more than a mild cold. Most likely he’d make it to lunch before he relented.
To her surprise, it was even sooner.
She got to chapel early and pulled out her book to read, but she nearly dropped it when Emily’s voice cut through the soft chatter of the hall.
“Hey, Alex, come get your twin!”
Alex picked up her book and set it back beside her. “For the last time, Emily, stop telling everybody that Hotch and I are twins,” she said. She stopped. “Oh, no.”
Hotch was leaning heavily on Emily’s shoulder, his eyes glazed over. “Hey, I think I need to sit down,” he said.
“Yeah, no shit, Sherlock,” Emily huffed, struggling under his weight. “You shouldn’t have gone to class in the first place.”
“I had a test,” he said.
Alex crossed her arms. “Yeah?” she said. “How’d that go for you, bubba?”
“I’m not sure, I don’t remember taking the test,” he confessed. “I remember sitting down at my desk and then...everything got kind of blurry.”
Alex sighed. “Please tell me you’re going back to your room to rest,” she said.
“I mean...it’s not that bad.” Hotch said. “I’ve been sicker before.”
“That’s not reassuring.”
Emily scanned the chapel doors. “Oh, wow, is that Haley Brooks over there?” she said. “You should go over and say hello. Haley! Hi, Haley!”
“No!” Hotch said. “Jesus, Emily, I don’t want to talk to her right now, I look like shit!”
“Then you should definitely go back to your room before she sees you,” Emily said. She gave him a gentle push towards the back exit doors. “Come on, hurry up.”
“Do you want me to go with you?” Alex called, but he was out the door already, his still-unzipped backpack dangling off one shoulder.
Emily tilted her head. “I don’t think he heard you,” she said. “He looks like death warmed over through. I’m kind of worried. Which means your spidey-sense must have bypassed tingling and gone straight to exploding.”
“I should have gone with him,” Alex said. “Although I’m not sure I would be able to explain missing classes.”
“Just tell your teachers you have to take care of your brother,” Emily suggested.
Alex rolled her eyes. “Listen, I don’t know you and Dave keep telling everybody we’re related,” she said. “We’re in different grades. We have different last names.”
“C’mon, it’s fun, you’re the Wonder Twins,” Emily said. She squished Alex’s cheeks and laughed. “You look enough alike to pass for siblings.”
“Nobody thinks that,” Alex said flatly, batting her hand away. “We’d better go sit before chapel starts.”
She kept her phone close through chapel and her third period class. He didn’t text her, but that wasn’t reassuring either. No news wasn’t necessarily good news.
The bell rang at the end of third period, but she hesitated before she started the walk towards the dining hall. She tapped her fingertips against the back of her phone case, and after a moment she typed out a text. Her phone buzzed seconds later with an answer.
Jamie <3
11:26am
yeah I figured youd want to check on him. dont worry about the baby i’ll make sure he eats a vegetable. love you!!!!
Alex felt the back of her neck heat up as she smiled at the screen. The whole love thing was still shiny and new and made little sparks prickle at the nape of her neck.
She slung the strap of her satchel across her shoulder and made the trek across campus to Lincoln House. Hotch had given her a spare key fob- Derek was constantly losing and finding his, resulting in multiple replacements floating around- and she let herself into the quiet lobby. Hopefully there wouldn’t be too many people around.
“Ah, Miss Miller. What are you doing over here? Shouldn’t you be in the dining hall?”
Alex jumped. She was not expecting to see Mr. Gideon standing in the lobby and staring at her. “Checking on my brother, he’s, uh, he’s sick,” she blurted out.
“Oh, the big one or the little one?” he asked.
She blinked. “Excuse me?”
“You know,” he said. “Aaron or Spencer?”
“It’s, uh, it’s the big one this time,” she said.
Mr. Gideon nodded sagely. “Your twin,” he said. “Well, go on up. Hope he feels better soon.”
He walked out to his office and closed the door; she sighed heavily. Maybe Emily and Dave were on to something after all.
She made her way up the stairs to the seventh floor and knocked lightly on his closed door. “Hotch?” she called. “It’s Alex. I just wanted to check on you.” He didn’t answer. “Hotch?” She tried the handle. “Oh, of course you locked the door.” She pulled a bobby pin out of her hair and stuck it in the keyhole.
The lock popped easily after a bit of fiddling and she opened the door. “Oh, Jesus Christ, Hotchner,” she sighed.
His unzipped backpack had dumped half its contents in the middle of the floor when he’d dropped it, along with his uniform blazer and his right shoe. Hotch was sprawled out on his bed on top of the covers, his long gangly legs dragging on the floor and his left shoe still on. He was still wearing his uniform and his rarely-worn glasses perched at a crooked angle on his nose, threatening to fall off at any moment as he snored.
“You’re dead to the world, aren’t you, bubba?” she said aloud. She set her satchel and blazer down on Hotch’s desk and sat on the edge of his bed. His breathing was shallow and congested, and his face was flushed red. “Hotch. Hotchner. Wake up for a second.” She pinched him lightly and his eyes shot open. “Hey, good, you’re awake.”
“What the fuck?” he mumbled. He rubbed his eyes, knocking his glasses sideways. “How did you get in here?”
“Picked the lock with a bobby pin,” she said.
He scrunched up his nose. “Like Annie Drew?”
“It’s Nancy Drew, and maybe that’s where I learned it from, I read a lot of mystery novels when I was an impressionable middle schooler,” she said. She tucked her legs underneath her and touched the back of her hand to his cheek. “How are you feeling?”
“Like hot garbage,” he said. “This cold is kicking my ass.”
“I don’t think you have a cold, bubba, I think you have bronchitis,” she said. “Did you take anything when you got back here or did you just crash?”
“Well, I’ve had most of a bottle of DayQuil today,” he said. He struggled to sit up. “You know what happens when you drink most of a bottle of DayQuil?”
“No, what happens?”
“Nothing good, I’ll tell you that for free,” he said.
Alex winced in sympathy. “You threw up?”
He ran his hands through his hair and dragged his palms over his face. “It was neon orange, Al,” he said, slightly muffled.
“That’s no good,” she said. “Did you-”
He broke into a cough, thick and heavy and rattling in his lungs, and Alex rubbed his back. “Hey, you’re okay,” she said gently. “Take a deep breath. You’re okay,”
It took a moment for him to settle down and breathe normally again; his glasses tilted drunkenly on his nose and his eyes were watering. “That sucked,” he rasped.
“Yeah, I bet,” she said. “You’ve got the sore throat, right? Feels like you swallowed broken glass?”
“I was going to say barbed wire, but yeah,” he said.
Alex squeezed his knee. “Get out of your uniform and lie down,” she said. “I’ll go get you something to drink. How much water have you had today?”
“If Red Bull counts, then I’ve had two waters.”
She rolled her eyes. “I’ll go get you water and a gatorade,” she said. “You get changed.”
She started to leave the room. “Hey, Alex?” he asked. She paused in the doorway. “Can you get me a purple one?”
“Yes, I’ll get you a purple gatorade.”
“The light purple, not the dark purple,” he called after her.
“I remember, I remember,” she called back.
She went down to the vending machines and got him two bottled waters and a light purple gatorade. For all his mature-for-his-age, old soul vibe, Hotch was as hard to handle as Spencer when he wasn’t feeling well.
His door was cracked when she got back to his room, but she paused. He’d changed into flannel pajama pants and he was struggling into one of his wrestling tee shirts. Alex bit back a wince and ducked back into the hallway. She rarely saw the scars on his back, but he usually kept them well hidden and it never got easier to see it. He didn’t like to talk about it, and she didn’t blame him.
When she was sure the coast was clear she stepped back into the room. Hotch sat on his bed, his shoulders slumped and his head in his hands. “Headache?” she asked as she set the bottles down on his nightstand.
“It feels like there’s a rock concert playing directly in my brain,” he said.
She went into his bathroom and dug around in the medicine cabinet. He didn’t have much for himself; it was mostly medicine they kept on hand for Spencer. “Oh, I can give you the big boy ibuprofen instead of the chewable stuff,” she teased. She set the bottle of ibuprofen down with the drinks. “This first though. Hold still.”
She set the thermometer in his ear and he jumped. “Ow,” he complained. “You could have warned me.”
“If I warned you, you’d try to argue,” she said. It beeped and she held it out so he could see the readout. “A hundred point four. You’re not going to class today, or tomorrow either.”
He rolled his eyes. “At least I got my test done,” he said.
“How do you think you did?” she asked.
“I don’t think I failed.”
Alex took his hand so she could place the pills in his hand, then opened one of the bottles of water. “Take these. Drink all of this. And then go to sleep,” she said.
“I’m not tired, I had so much DayQuil,” he complained as he popped the pills in his mouth.
“Which you’ve already puked back up,” she pointed out. “You need to get some sleep.”
He chugged a third of the water and paused to cough. “I just need to rest,” he said. “Can you hand me my laptop.”
“No.”
Hotch scowled. “Alexandra. Give me my laptop,” he said. “I have an essay due on Friday.”
She grabbed his laptop and wrestled it into her school bag. “You can have it back when you’re not running a fever,” she said.
“Alex!” he whined. “I need to work on that.” She bit back a laugh. “Why are you smiling like that?”
“Sorry, it’s hard to take you seriously with your nerd glasses on,” she said. He huffed, which turned into another cough. “Seriously, Aaron. You need to take it easy. And it’s school policy that you can’t attend classes until you’ve been fever-free for twenty-four hours.” He rubbed his ear. “Besides, you know Spencer’s going to try to spend quality time with you, and he’s not going to be able to handle it if he catches what you have. The more you rest and take care of yourself, the sooner you’ll get over it.”
Hotch sighed. “Fine,” he said. “You win.”
“I usually do.”
“You just had to play the Spencer card.”
“I was saving it just in case.”
Hotch set the empty water bottle back on the nightstand and shifted around until he was under the covers. “Are you going back to class?” he asked. “Lunch is almost over.”
He sounded nonchalant, but he was avoiding her eyes and tugging at a loose thread on his comforter. “I can stay a while longer,” she said. “Besides, if anybody asks where I was, Gideon can tell them I was with you. You know he thinks we’re twins too?”
“For such a brilliant man, he’s kind of clueless,” Hotch said. “I’m not going to sleep, but I’ll rest, okay?”
“Sure,” Alex said. “Do you want to watch something?” She pulled at the laces of her ankle boots. “Do you want to watch wrestling?”
“I don’t watch wrestling.”
Alex looked him up and down. “We all know you’re a secret wrestling fan,” she said. “And even if you say you’re not, I can read your tee shirt.”
“No one ever wants to watch wrestling with me,” he said.
“Yes, well, you’re sick, you should get to watch what you want,” she said. She set her boots aside and handed him the remote. “Now scoot over.”
He paused, the remote balanced in his hand as the TV blinked on. “Why?” he asked.
“Because I said so,” she said. “I mean it! Scoot over.”
He obeyed, still clearly confused, and she pulled and tugged at him until they both fit on his narrow twin bed, his head resting on her stomach. “What are you doing?” he asked.
“Don’t worry about it,” she said. “Wow, you really are mostly limbs, aren’t you?”
“I’ve had a couple of growth spurts,” he said. “You’re sure you want to watch wrestling with me?”
“Go for it,” she said.
Truthfully she had no desire to watch wrestling, but she knew it would make him happy, and when he was this sick he deserved things that would make him happy. She ran her fingers through his thick hair, and before long she heard him snoring again, the sound thick and rattling in his lungs. When she was sure he was asleep she tugged his glasses off and set them aside on the nightstand. Most likely he would wake up cranky and groggy and he’d try to argue that he could go to class, but for now she could keep him calm and quiet, and hopefully the sleep would help.
“Maybe you’ll be a little bit less of an absolute disaster when you wake up,” she said, and she kept stroking his hair while he slept.

16: “Roses are red, Violets are blue, You can do whatever you want to me. (please do.)“ You can blame @forever-my-wonder for this...
Read on AO3.
Penelope writes best when listening to music, especially to set the mood of a scene. Her latest romance novel is a bit… spicier than usual, so she lets her new playlist loop around - and grins when the next song starts playing.
If Penelope sways in her seat, vibing to the music as she starts typing, well…
“Tastes like straaaawberries, on a summer evenin’...” Penelope doesn’t think she’s singing that loudly, stopping every other line to imagine her newest scene. A picnic between the hero and heroine, flirting and banter, perhaps the hero picking a few dandelions for the heroine....
“Watermelon sugar - high. Watermelon sugar - high! Watermelon sugar - ”
“You’re hot.” Penelope jumps, halfway through the note and spots Colin leaning against the doorway. His arms are crossed, biceps full and flexed, hair artfully disheveled. He’s hot and hers and staring at her like… well…
“I’m writing, go away.”
“From your lovely singing, dearest,” he says, stalking into the room, shutting the door behind him, “it sounded like you’d prefer something else.” He pushes her chair away from the desk despite her protests, turning to her phone to turn up the volume of the song… and repeat it on loop.
“What are you doing?”
Colin smirks. He sinks down to his knees. “I just wanna taste it,” he says - sings, actually, because of course he times it perfectly, and his voice - oh god, his voice -
Penelope leans back, lets Colin remove her underwear, and spreads her legs.
“That’s my girl,” he says, hands running up and down her thighs. He kisses her skin, just above her knee, in time to the rhythm of the song. “I closed the door for a reason… don’t come until you’re screaming, yeah?”
Penelope sinks lower into her chair, her hand crawling into his hair. “Yes,” she breathes, because his kisses grow closer to her center. “Yes.”
Because Colin flicks at her clit lightly with his thumb before sucking gently. His tongue joins his lips and she can hear the sounds of his efforts, her own body thrusting up to meet his mouth. He holds her down, keeping her legs wide and spread, and her fingers tighten in his hair. “Colin - ” she moans.
Without stopping, his tongue dips down into her quim, circling, before returning to her clit. Her body feels electrified, like sparks dance across her skin, and any moment she might burst into flames. But Colin is steady and determined, alternating between sucking and licking, sometimes predictable and sometimes not, always keeping her on edge. “Colin - Colin, yes, please - oh, oh, Colin - ”
Her words are nonsensical but still escape her throat uninhibited, like smoke from a chimney, as Colin continues to pour on the gasoline. His thumb absently runs up and down the skin of her inner thigh, in time to the music, heightening the sensations of his wet mouth and its steady sucking. Shaking and vibrating, Penelope knows she’s close: with every movement, she tries to thrust her hips up, direct the movement, but Colin holds tight, remains steady, and Penelope builds higher.
Higher and higher - his thumb drawing circles and his tongue dipping into her entrance and his lips sucking, gently but hard and softly but certain - building a flame, sparks jumping across her skin and his, an earthquake hidden beneath the surface, molten lava melting from her core onto his lips - until Penelope comes, screaming his name, vibrations spreading from the inside out. Colin still holds her down and leaves gentle kisses on her skin. “So good, so lovely, my Pen.”
She twirls his hair between her fingers. “Holy shit.”
He smirks into her leg. “Good?”
“Good.” Penelope rests her legs against his shoulders still, his hands still running up and down high thighs, warmth and comfort radiating from his touch. Lingering kisses leave his lips, adorning her skin. “Wow.”
The music pauses, one repetition ending just before the next begins, and Penelope drops her legs to the floor to lean forward and kiss Colin. “You are - wow.”
He grins in between kisses. “And you are gorgeous.” He tugs her lip between his own. “I hope you know every time I hear this song, I’m going to be thinking of how good you taste.”
Penelope blushes, but hides it by kissing the corner of his lips. “Good.” Colin laughs, tilting his head to capture her lips again, and she melts into his kiss. When she separates, only to trace his mouth with her thumb, she says, “I only think of you when I hear this song anyway.”
Dragging her face back to his own, Colin kisses his appreciation onto her lips. Penelope lets his kisses travel down her neck, to her shoulder… before gently pushing him back.
“Now stop distracting me, I think I have the inspiration to write a sex scene!”

Rewatching s2 of Legacies— I did kind of like Landon and Josie together. They weren’t a forever happy ending couple. But they were a sweet teen summer romance while they lasted.
Also, out of all of Josie’s romantic partners, and as frustrating it is when looking for Hope/Lizzie fics in ao3 and almost always just getting Penelope/Josie…
There is a reason why that is.
Penelope’s actress was electric in the role and she has such great chemistry with Josie.
She might not be the best person, and she’s not going to win Humanitarian of the Year but Penelope was ride or die for Josie. She loved Josie with all her selfish, obnoxious heart.
I think s2 Lizzie would actually that about Penelope, putting Josie first.
Finch, on the other hand, works a lot better when she’s not a couple with Josie. They were sweet enough but apart from that they were always going in different trajectories.
Kaleb trying to help MG “get” Lizzie has really put a bad taste in my mouth in this rewatch. Lizzie isn’t a prize to be won, and honestly this is giving me Boyle’s crush on Rosa in B99 s1 vibes.
Lizzie does see MG and she likes MG, she just doesn’t like MG.
They work better as friends.
I did ship Nia the Gorgon with MG a lot on rewatch though. Now, they sparked and the chemistry was effortless.
And also just let Ethan and MG happen. Speaking of someone with chemistry, and MG makes Ethan more interesting.
It doesn’t make me question why this random boy is in Mystic Falls while his whole family moved somewhere else.
Also, this show just constantly pour trauma on poor Raf. I’m also still flummoxed how Raf/Hope wasn’t a serious contender.
Raf kept getting nothing in the show, it’s no wonder he left.
Jed had to reach s4 to get any significant storyline.

Co-Conspirators
Pairs: Aaron Hotchner x Reader
Words: 5421
Summary: Getting your career at the BAU started gets interesting when you realize you're attracted to your boss.
Warnings: None
Notes: Left completely gender-neutral. I had been interested in watching Criminal Minds for a long time, but a friend of mine finally got me to start it. Suffice to say my damn ass completely fell for Hotch. Was there other things I was planning on writing… Yes… but I couldn't help myself. Hopefully, now my obsession will chill out enough I can work on other projects for a bit.
I found this writing prompt @witterprompts and went with it. The original prompt is below.
"Look, I think it's a fairly simple question. Do you or don't you want me to work with you?"
Continuation of Co-Conspirators –Part 1*–Part 2–Part 3–Part 4–Part 5 –Part 6
You had initially gone to college for something completely different. Or at least you planned on using your degree for something else.  One of your classes had Jason Gideon come in as a guest speaker, which sparked an epiphany. So you picked up some extra classes and buckled down, reading as many books as you could on the subject, David Rossi’s books were among the ones you read. Whatever college social life you may have had was put on the back burner, so you could pour all your energy into learning. It took a lot of hard work, but you managed to do it. You wanted to help people. This seemed like one of the best ways you could do that. When you were ready, you pushed ahead and got an interview with the Behavioral Analysis Unit at Quantico.
You had been beyond nervous. For the past few years, you had been training for this moment. So you steeled yourself before going into the FBI building. You made sure to wear something very professional, wanting to make an excellent first impression. Walking into the building was easy enough. When you got into the BAU area, you saw some of the other employees there. They were already watching you. It was easy to tell that they knew you were there for the job opening. While you walked up the stairs, you tried to absorb all the information around you. You reached the office and knocked on a door that read 'S.S.A. Aaron Hotchner', the man who would be interviewing you. You heard a voice call you in. You were thrown off when you entered Hotchner's office. He was older than you, but even with that scowl sculpted into his face, you immediately found him attractive. So that caused you to begin your interview precariously. You knew he was a profiler, so you did your best to bury your attraction to him. Agent Hotchner was your boss. You were going to handle this professionally. You closed the door behind you, "Nice to meet you, Agent Hotchner." You introduce yourself as you take a few steps closer before stopping a respectable distance from him. Hotchner motions to the chair on the other side of his desk, "Sit. Despite what the other profilers might say, I don't bite." You chuckle, moving to sit in the chair. Hotchner moved some papers around on his overflowing desk, “Hotch is fine.” He looked over what seemed to be your personal file. You weren't sure what to expect before you came here. There were rumors about the team and gossip sure. Agent Hotchner was supposed to be intimidating and mean. While he gave off those vibes at first glance, that wasn’t the feeling you got from Hotch when you took a second to read him. Hotch looked up at you from your file, “Your look qualified for the job, but you’re young. What makes you better for this job than other applicants with more experience.” You hum, quickly thinking to yourself. You make sure to thoroughly look around the room, trying to get every detail. You look back at your interviewer, “There are no other applicants.” You said with a very matter the fact tone. Hotch leans back in his chair, a ghost of a smirk on his face. “What makes you say that?” You sit up enough to get another look at the files on his desk, “All these files are paperwork for cases, the dates, and how they are labeled. Applications aren’t labeled like that.” Hotch narrows his eyes at you, signaling for you to continue. You smile, “You don’t have any other applications on your desk. Which means either I’m your last applicant or there were no others. ” You glance down at your watch, “Judging by the time of day, the stacks of paperwork on your desk, and the bags under your eyes, you don’t have a lot of time for interviews. This is why you’re doing this on your lunch break, and I don’t think you’ve actually eaten lunch yet. I imagine you would have scheduled all your interviews in one day to get it taken care of quickly. Limited time, limited people you are willing to bring in and try to fit into your already busy schedule. I'm guessing that I am the only applicant.” You pause and shrug, “I suppose I could also be the only application you deemed had enough potential.” Hotch leaned forward again, closing your file, “Can you start tomorrow?”
You curiously peek at the papers on his desk. Interestingly trying to see if you missed anything as you respond, “I can start right now if you need me too…” You pause for a second, before looking back up at Hotch, “Was I right?” Hotch tucks your file away, “Yes.” You perk up. You had done exercises in classes and during training, but you always found them too easy. So being able to test your skills on something more challenging and being right was exciting, “Which one I am then? Only applicant?” You assumed you were the only one. Figuring if someone with more experience had applied, they would have easily won out over you. Hotch shakes his head, “The only file I saw with enough potential to bring in was yours.” You slowly stand up, making a curious noise. “Thank you, then.” You reach out your hand. Hotch raises his eyebrows and shakes your hand, “Don’t thank me yet, You'll still have to prove yourself in the field.”
That was how you got your job with the BAU. To start out, Hotch partnered you and him together a lot, you were assuming it was a probationary situation. You did some cases with other people while you were learning. After you had been at the job long enough to handle yourself, you were still partnered with Hotch most of the time. Part of you chalked it up to the fact that you could handle Hotch’s grumpy and bully-like behavior. Quickly the whole team became your family. You spent most of your time at work, which meant you spent all your time with the team. You enjoyed hanging out with everyone on the team.
Emily would help you learn new languages if there was time. You found it oddly soothing listening to Reid talk about whatever he was excited about at the moment, plus you usually learned something. Rossi shared a love for classic art, the two of you also shared a love of snarky banter. You and Penelope shared anything nerdy with each other, whether it was movies, shows, or comics. Derek would discuss books with you, and he would introduce you to new music. You were always happy to look at pictures of Henry while talking about family life with JJ. You and Hotch were workaholics together. Hotch got onto you about it a few times, but you always turned it back on him. It was hard to explain, you and Hotch kind of just gravitated to each other. There was always a calm mutual understanding between the two of you. Working so closely with Hotch didn't exactly help with your attraction to him. You were a professional. So you ignored it for the most part. You had resigned yourself to the fact that Hotch wasn't interested in you. Even if he was interested, he was such a stickler for rules that it wouldn’t matter.
You had been good at remaining professional for a few years. However, you slipped up one night when you and the team went out to celebrate. A case had gone really well, and you all knew you deserved a break. Emily and Derek were the first two to get the idea rolling. Soon everyone was ready and willing to go, except Hotch. Since you both worked way too much when the team went out, it was usually down to either you or Hotch to be what Penelope lovingly referred to as the ‘designated buzzkill’. You agreed to go but kept wondering if you should invite Hotch. Reid quickly caught onto how you were glancing up towards Hotch’s office, “Shouldn’t we invite Hotch?” Everyone except you and Reid made a face. It was a collective look of ‘We could try, but he’ll just say no.’ Their skeptical looks sealed it for you. You moved away from your desk and to the stairs, “I’ll ask him.” Penelope let out an excited squeak, practically bouncing as she spoke, “You’re the only one of us who can speak fluent ‘Hotchner’. You can do it, sugar.” You chuckled and rolled your eyes as you walked up the stairs. You knocked on Hotch’s office door but didn’t even wait for a response before going right in. You and the team had only been back for maybe 30 minutes, and Hotch had already buried himself in paperwork. You walk over and sit in the chair in front of his desk. Hotch doesn’t even look up as he addresses you, “Yes?” You shift about in the chair using the sweetest voice you could muster, “We have all been talking…” Hotch looks up, cutting you off “A night out? I have paperwork.” Hotch had his scowl on, but it no longer affected you unless he was mad at you personally. You grin at him, “It will be fun.” Hotch just stared at you, waiting. You sighed and rolled your eyes quickly, dropping being overly nice, “Why do you make me do this?” Hotch leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms. A smirk threatens to slide onto his face, Hotch still just stares at you. You glare at him, “Fine, you asked for it.” Hotch just waits, already knowing he pushed you to the point where you lose your verbal filter. While he had gotten onto you before for your lack of filter on cases, you think he enjoyed it when you spoke candidly in more casual situations. You point to his desk, “When is the last time you went somewhere that wasn't this building, the plane, or a company car?” Hotch goes to protest. This time you cut him off, “This stack of paperwork has been like this since you hired me... What two years ago now? You always do all your work. Go above and beyond. The files have changed, but the stack remains the same size. It can wait twelve more hours. At which point, you’ll realize trying to sleep is pointless. You'll come into work early anyway.” Hotch makes a face, doing what he does best and avoids the main parts of your argument, “It’s been two years and six months.” You open your mouth, ready to argue again, but are temporally confused. “What?” Hotch moves some papers around, “It’s been two years and six months since I hired you.” You gave him another confused look, “You remember how long it has been?” Hotch once again dodges the main issue. “Also, I’d like to point out that you also haven’t been anywhere other than here or on a case in a while, either.” You scoff, “I totally have…” Hotch rolls his eyes, “Sleeping in your car in the company parking lot doesn’t count.” You grumble and lean back in the chair. You decide to do what Hotch does and just avoid that statement, “What if I promised you I would help you with the paperwork after the teams’ little night out?” You could tell you were starting to win when Hotch sat up in his chair. Hotch motioned to the paperwork on his desk, “This is important.” You stand up and put your hands on his desk, raising your voice in a nonaggressive manner, “Mental health is important too.” You glare down at Hotch, “And I swear to god if I have to drag Reid in here and make you listen to the statistics about mental wellbeing and overworking yourself, I will be so pissed.” You get a bit more dramatic with your voice, “Aaron Hotchner, I already got that lecture from him the other day. If I have to listen to it again just to get you to go to the bar with us, I will.” Hotch puts his hands up in defeat before pushing himself away from his desk, “Please don’t subject me to that.” Hotch stands up, and you start grinning, “Thank you for caving.” You walk to the office door, waiting. When you looked through the window, the whole team automatically looked away. Trying to hide the fact they had been watching. You chuckle, shaking your head at how bad they were at ‘acting casual’. You walk down the stairs, “Stop pretending you weren't paying attention. Bossman agreed to join us.” Derek claps you on the back, “The boss whisperer has triumphed for us once more.” You roll your eyes, going over to your desk. “Why do you all act like Hotch speaks a completely different language?” JJ giggles, commenting, “Asks the only person who understands him half the time.” Hotch walks down the stairs from his office, “Let’s keep it that way. If the rest of you catch on, then I’m doomed.” You laugh. Now that you all were ready, it was time to go. The team went back to their excited chattering as you left the building as a group.
At the bar, the team stayed together for the first few drinks. After that, though, everyone slowly splintered off on their own. You flitted from each small group for a while until like always, you ended up sitting next to Hotch. Hotch was nursing a drink while watching the rest of the team have fun. You ordered another drink. After a few moments of comfortable silence, you spoke up, “We are supposed to be having fun.” Hotch chuckles, “Is sitting over here with your boss your definition of fun?” You smile leaning back against the counter to relax, “Actually yes.” You take a large drink from your glass, turning to look at Hotch, “But you knew that already.” Hotch turns to face you, “I do. It’s the ‘why’ I could never figure out.” You laugh, playing with the small amount of alcohol in your glass, “You’re a profiler, you tell me.” Hotch glared at you before taking another drink. You couldn’t help the cocky look that fell onto your face. Hotch looks back out at the mixture of people floating around the room, “Really want to go down this road?” You scoff, getting another drink, “Hit me with your best shot Hotch.”
Hotch motions to all the people mingling in the bar, “You’re as bad of a workaholic like I am. So you don’t have a personal life.” You make a fake offended noise, but let Hotch continue. “You find flaws in anyone who would be considered a potential romantic interest before even speaking to them. Convincing yourself, there is no use in trying.” Hotch glances back over to you, “It's why you like hanging out with me that I don't understand.” You cock your head, “I’ll answer that after I correct you on a few points.” Hotch crosses his arms, leaning back, waiting. You chuckle, “You guys are my personal life, my family. Your right about the romantic interest part, though... Hard to stay interested in someone when you can profile them in one glance...” You pause before knocking back your drink, “I like grouchy, serious people. Lots of nice silence that isn’t awkward gives me time to think. No bullshit, you’ll tell me if I did something wrong or whatever else. Plus, My mouth normally gets me in trouble but not around you. I can be a sarcastic asshole or brutally honest.” Hotch makes a noise, “Your mouth is a huge problem.” You nervously rub the back of your neck and chuckle, “I mean… I’ve at least gotten better when we are on the job.” Hotch smirks, “You have.” He pauses for a second, “What else? You’re leaving something out.” This is the point where you would usually come up with a convincing lie to hide the fact you had feelings for Hotch. You were a few drinks in. You could handle your liquor, so you weren’t drunk per se, but you had drunk enough that you didn’t really think about the need to lie. You smile to yourself as you let out a small hum, “Because… seeing a sullen person smile… and I don't mean smirking… a genuine smile... It’s a special thing to be able to see that.” You realized that was the first time you had said something like that or even admitted it to yourself. You let out a curious hum. Turning back around in your seat, facing the counter. When Hotch turned around, that’s when you notice the two of you were shoulder to shoulder now. You glanced over at Hotch. He had a real smile on his face. It made you happy seeing him like that. You forgot where you were and that there were rules against fraternization at work. Hotch was so close to you, so when your eyes met his, all logic left your body. You closed your eyes before leaning in and kissed Hotch.
Hotch even kissed you back. It felt so right that you got caught up in it. Both of you kept kissing each other. That was until your brain quickly started to catch up to what you were doing. It only took a split second for your bliss to come crashing down. You had just kissed your very handsome, regulations focused boss. At a party with your coworker’s nonetheless. When you realized that you just put both your and Hotch’s job on the line, you pulled away. Hotch looked confused. You couldn’t tell if it was because you kissed him or because you stopped kissing him. Not sure what else to do, you decided to bolt. Digging cash out of your pocket before putting it on the counter to pay for your drinks. You avoid looking at Hotch, “I… I have to go.” You said it so fast it sounded more like one word then a sentence. You didn’t wait for a response. Booking it out of the bar and straight to a taxi to take you home. You were mad at yourself. You managed to stay professional for over two years. Then it only took one night out for you to ruin that. Though deep down, you knew the real reason you were so upset was that kissing Hotch had felt perfect, but there were multiple rules against things like this. You didn’t want to forget about that moment but thought it might be easier if either you or Hotch just forgot about it by the time morning rolled around. As soon as you went home, you went straight to bed, hoping to sleep it off.
When you woke up a few hours later, you hadn’t forgotten. It was actually the first thing you thought about. Making you realize that maybe it was more than a crush you had on Hotch. You pushed the thought back in your mind and decided to just go into work. Knowing you couldn’t go back to sleep even if you wanted to. Even though you were walking into work a few hours before anyone else should be there, you weren’t surprised when you saw Hotch’s car already here. You had your fingers crossed that he had forgotten about last night, and you never had to think about this ever again. When you walked into the bullpen, you got your answer. Usually, when you came in early for whatever reason, especially helping him with paperwork, you would sit in Hotch’s office while you both worked quietly. However, today Hotch’s office door was closed. The paperwork you had promised to help him with was sitting on your desk. Last night may have just fucked up your usual routine and, even worse, a friendship. You sighed to yourself and just sat down at your desk and worked.
Over the next few months, it only got worse. Where you and Hotch typically gravitated to each other, now you were both constantly apart. He no longer paired you two together on cases, never sat next to each other on the plane. The worst part was probably the early and late hours both you and Hotch always worked. You both were the only two in this part of the building at those times, and still, there was no real communication between the two of you. Just basic, stiff sentences. Neither you or Hotch talked outside of team meetings and cases. It was a shock to your system considering how close you two had been before that night at the bar. But you felt you had no one to blame but yourself. You also felt lucky you still had your job considering Hotch could have fired you.
You reached your breaking point one random morning after a few months of this. It just hit you how much you actually needed to know what was going on. You didn’t even care what the answer was, you just wanted to know. So while you and Hotch were still the only two at work, you barged into his office.  Before you could even get the door closed, Hotch spoke up, “Yes?” You closed the door and crossed your arms, “If you’re pissed at me, could you go ahead and just say so?” You shouted that louder than you meant to. Hotch furrowed his brow and looked right up at you. You didn’t give him a chance to say anything just yet, “I was really drunk, okay? So don’t think anything of… of…” You tried to think of what to call it because calling it a kiss reminded you how much you enjoyed it. You subconsciously touched your fingers to your lips. As soon as you noticed, you dropped your hand and continued, “that situation… It meant nothing.” You didn’t even believe yourself and knew that Hotch saw right through it too. As an effort to hide more of your feelings, you let out a loud, annoyed huff before standing there and staring at Hotch. Hotch narrowed his eyes at you, testing you. “Then why are you yelling at me about it?” You scoffed a few times before you started walking around. You stayed mindful enough that it didn’t look too much like pacing. You calmed your voice, “Because I feel like I’m in the dog house because of it. You stopped partnering with me, practically stopped talking to me altogether.” You sigh, “I understand you could have fired me for that drunken mistake. You didn’t, and I appreciate it. But if you really hate working with me that much now, just tell me.” Hotch leaned back in his chair and watched you. There was some emotion in his eyes you couldn’t pinpoint at the moment. It almost looked like he was amused as he spoke, “You weren't that drunk.” Hotch moves some papers around on his desk, “You know, normally anyone else on the team would think being partnered with me constantly would be the punishment. Not the other way around.” You think for a moment watching Hotch, “I don’t feel that way about it.” Hotch nodded, “I know.” He looked a bit too amused for your liking. So you started speaking louder again, "Look, I think it's a fairly simple question. Do you or don't you want me to work with you?" You paused, but your nerves got the better of you. You let out a loud sigh before adding mostly to yourself, “I knew my mouth would get me in trouble one day… this just isn’t the kind of trouble I thought it would be.” Hotch chuckles at your comment, “I’m not mad at you.”  You scrunch up your face, confused. Hotch’s voice turns more serious as he finishes, “I do want to work with you, but I separated us because you’re a distraction.” You glare at Hotch, “What the fuck do you mean a distraction?” At this point, you may not have been thinking too clearly because you automatically took offense. You fully turned to face Hotch, your body language and tone reflecting your irritation, “We have worked with each other for over two years. Suddenly I’m a ‘distraction’?” Hotch stood up, crossing his arms and staring you down. You dug your heels in, “Am I really that bad at my job that I’m affecting your or the team’s work?” Hotch started walking over to you, “Will you stop and listen to me for a second?” Hotch had raised his voice just enough to get your attention. It was stern with no real anger behind it. You let out an exasperated huff but stayed quiet. Hotch stopped a few feet in front of you. Even a few feet away, Hotch seemed to tower over you. The serious look that was normally stamped on his face was softer than normal, “You’re a distraction because I have feelings for you as well.”
You falter for a second, “What?” Hotch lets a smile slide onto his face, “You heard me.” You take a minute to think it over, “Then why didn’t you say anything before.” Hotch shrugs, “You’re the one who ran, and I wanted to cover all my bases.” You glare at him, wondering if this was a joke. Hotch wasn’t one for jokes, so it was unlikely, but part of your brain wouldn’t accept he was telling the truth. So naturally, you challenge him, “Since when?” Hotch raises his eyebrows at you, “Does it matter?” You give him a firm nod. Hotch looks off to the side, “Longer than I would care to admit…” Hotch knew you wouldn’t be satisfied with that answer, so after a pause, he looked back at you with a smirk on his face, “The first time you yelled at me. I was able to see how passionate you were. It started then.” You start laughing, “Really? You also wrote me up for that.” Hotch nods, “It was still against regulations, so, Yes.” Hotch pauses, “What about you?” This time the laugh that leaves you is a nervous one, “Since my interview.” You rub the back of your neck, “Tall, Dark, and Handsome. What else can I say?” Hotch makes a curious noise, “I just read that as regular nerves, not attraction.” Hotch smirks at you, “If I had known you had such poor taste, I wouldn’t have hired you.” You scoff and roll your eyes, “Shut up.” You look out the window down into the bullpen below, “If ‘poor taste’ is liking a man who is constantly pushing himself to do the right thing and can be an ass at times because of that. Then sure, I have ‘poor taste’.”  Hotch scuffs, “The word I think you meant to use was jaded.” You smile, looking back over at Hotch, “Nope.” You say it very matter of factly, letting the ‘p’ pop as you speak. You tilt your head and give Hotch a cocky grin, “So you like being yelled at?” Hotch rolls his eyes, “Only when you're the one yelling. If I didn’t, I would have fired you by now.” You chuckle but then have a serious thought, “How much trouble are we in?” Hotch sighs, “None… at the moment, but if Strauss catches wind of this…” It was finally time for other people to start showing up for work, just some background workers. Drawing both you and Hotch’s attention to the window watching over the bullpen. You think, “So we don’t let Strauss catch wind of this.” You tap your foot on the ground. “Everyone on the team hates the bitch, but…” Hotch nods, finishing your thought for you, “But… If we keep it a secret from the team, it will at least buy us time.” Hotch glances at you for a second before looking back out the window, “What do you suggest?” You tilt your head from side to side as you think, “We build upon what the team already knows about… We have clearly distanced ourselves from each other. The team has noticed… So we make it seem like we are actually mad at each other.” Hotch nods, agreeing with you so far, “An event about two months ago that would cause this ‘rift’...” Hotch scowls while thinking about it. You laugh, “It is us we are talking about. There are too many things to choose from. The team knows you can be a hard ass, and they know I have a smart-ass mouth.” Hotch chuckles, looking over at you. Your eyes meet for a second, and you can’t help but smirk. “Are you willing to get this elaborate with lying to our friends and colleges?” You were joking at first, but you had a serious thought. Your tone quickly changed, “In all seriousness… I don’t want to put your job on the line… Don’t get me wrong I want this, but not so badly that I’m willing to risk your career without both of us being on the same page.” You look over at Hotch. He furrows his brow, “It’s not just my job. It’s yours too.” You let out a melancholy chuckle, “Im young, I haven't built up my whole career yet. I could find somewhere else to work.” Hotch shakes his head, “You’d be miserable.” You shrug and smile, “ ‘Miserable’ is a relative term.” Hotch’s frown sets in deeper on his face, clearly he was starting to rethink things. So you quickly spoke up, “I just want to make sure we are on the same page. I’m more than willing, but if you want to back out before we break any rules, I want to give you that chance.” Hotch stares at you for a very long moment, “What event are we going to use from two months ago?” You smile softly, relieved that he wanted to proceed with things. You thought, “I cursed out that cop which you got onto me for even though the guy totally deserved it.” Hotch smirks, “He did deserve it but still inappropriate.” You chuckle and nod, “We could use that… act like someone in the department complained about it more and is riding your ass about it. Could combine it with several other things for more drama or leave it at that.” Hotch nods, “We can work with that.” You move away from the interior window, “When everyone gets in, we fake an argument and let the team see it.” Hotch moves back over to his desk, “They will see it and shouldn’t ask too many questions about it.” You sit in the chair in front of his desk, “From partners to partners in crime.” Hotch glares at you and rolls his eyes, “Crime makes it sound much worse than it is.” You chuckle, “Fine. Why don’t we plan something fun then? Maybe it will make you less grumpy.” Hotch sits down, crossing his arms, “Something fun?” You roll your eyes, “A date. I mean, we literally put all this effort into the lie to cover up something that hasn’t even really happened yet.” Hotch smiles, “Tomorrow night, we are supposed to have it off.” You give him a smug grin, “It’s official, then Aaron, we're co-conspirators.” With a sigh, Hotch leans back in his chair. As he rubs his temples, you can see a large smile on his face.

Movies I watched in January 2021.
(only includes movies I watched for the first time)
 A stranger outside (directed by Jake Helgren) – 2018 (12) 2½ stars.
This film is a who is it/who did it movie about a girl named Daphne (played by Brittney Underwood) who is babysitting a young boy called Toby (played by Jet Jurgensmeyer) whose parents are out of town.
I gave it a low rating since I found it very dumb and the acting is not good, a hard movie to take seriously, the characters are also very stupid, and it is an overall very predictable movie.
But saying that, I would still recommend if you want to watch a movie you can make fun of and like seeing family bonds being made (between the babysitter and the boy). It is also a good movie if you want to get into horrors/thrillers or get someone else into them.
*spoilers*
The main reasons I found this a dumb movie is how obvious it was that the maid was the killer, like, what maid only cleans the kitchen and does it in less than 5 minutes? She was also an overall bad killer and felt like a very lazy try.
Also, the girls reaction to everything, I don’t understand why they didn’t lock all the doors and how Daphne walked through the door that she put the windchime, a very dumb move. Also, Daphne’s friends when being killed, I could not wait for the scene to be over, she wasn’t doing a particularly good job at trying to escape.

Uncle frank (directed by Alan Ball)– 2020 (15) 5 stars.
This film is about an 18-year-old named Beth (played by Sofia Lillis) who travels back from Manhattan to her hometown Creek Ville, South Carolina, with her uncle Frank (played by Paul Bettany) for a funeral and end up being joined by his boyfriend (Played by Peter Macdissi).
I gave this film such a high rating because of how real this movie feels and how the acting feels so pure and you can tell that they put effort into this. I also just really love family connections in movies. It is just such a beautiful movie, made me cry so much. This film also really highlights how much Frank is terrified of his parents fining out he is gay.
I just highly recommend this movie. Anything I say will not do this film justice.
*spoilers*
The main scenes that really stuck out to me where: 1) The flash back scenes between young Frank and past lover Sam. Mainly the scene where his dad (played by Stephen Root) catches them together one night. And he didn’t the relationship his son had with the other boy, which sends Frank into a panic. This scene also shows the type of man his dad was and how that impacted Frank.
2) The will reading where Frank is outed. This scene really pinpoints how much hatred Franks dad had towards him. In this scene you can also see the sheer panic he has and doesn’t want to stick around and find out what is family will say.

Deadly detention (directed by Blair Hayes) – 2017 (15) 1 star.
This film is about 5 high school students; the ‘hot girl’ Lexi (played by Alex Frnka), ‘hot boy’ Barrett (played by Henry Zaga), the ‘sporty female jock’ Jessica (played by Sarah Davenport), ‘the skateboarder’ Taylor (played by Jenifer Robyn Jacobs) and the ‘presumed gay, Christian’ with his bejewelled bible named Kevin (played by Coy Stewart), who all have Saturday detention. Their detention takes place in a now closed prison with someone trying to kill them.
I gave the film such a low rating since its just bad. The script is awful, the characters are written so poorly, I can’t believe this movie was able to be realised, it is also very predictable, you are able to tell who the killer is within the first 10 minutes.
This movie gave me the vibe of a poorly rewrite of ‘the breakfast club’ if it was a horror in prison. But if you want something you can watch to laugh at and not take seriously then you could watch this.
*spoilers*
The main things that really annoyed me with this film are not that the killer was obviously the cop but that:
1)    Barrett never stops smiling! Someone is trying to kill him, and he doesn’t even care.
2)    Taylor and her skateboard, she can’t even ride properly, she should have left it, it’s not important.
3)    Keven and his light up shoes, and how he had to make sure they were on the same colour, he should leave them alone and hide.
4)    And just the fact that Barrett and Lexi care more about hooking up than trying to escape a killer, especially when Berrett is already dating Jessica.

Deadpool (directed by Tim Miller) – 2016 (15) 4 stars.
This film is about a man named Wade Wilson (played by Ryan Reynolds), who wants to get revenge on a man named ajax/Francis (played by Ed Skrein) for experimenting on him to cure Wades cancer and to give him healing abilities, but it ends up leaving him disfigured.
I gave this movie a high rating because of how it managed to include multiple genres at once; for example, this film included, action, a little gore, comedy, raunchy and romance. Also, the uses of breaking the fourth wall, I think was done particularly well.
Other things I like about this film is that he does not call himself a hero, because he does not want to be and at the end of the day, he isn’t one, but he’s also not a villain.
*spoilers*
An example of this is right near the end when Colossus is giving that classic ‘you can be a hero’ hero speech, Deadpool shoots Ajax. Because killing him was what the main plot of the film was.

Soul (directed by Pete Doctor) – 2020 (PG) 3½ stars.
This film is about the journey of jazz piano player/middle school teacher, Joe Gardner (voiced by Jamie Foxx), who experiences a near death experience that gets him trapped in the afterlife, trying to reunite his soul and body, who is landed the responsibility to be the mentor to the soul, 22 (voiced by Tina Fey), who needs to find her spark to be sent to earth.
I gave this movie a middle rating because I like what it portrays – where your dreams come from, where your interests come from, also that for some, it can take a lot longer than others to figure out what they are. However, I feel like this film feel flat the longer it went on, it also feels like the people working on this got bored at the end and did not care anymore. Could as well be due to do with the fact that there were a couple things I thought would happen and make more sense but did not happen.
But its still, at the end of the day a cute, funny, family movie and great for kids to learn that they should do what they love and its okay if they take longer than others to figure out what they love to do.
*spoilers*
Examples of what I thought would happen/hoped would happen that would have made sense to be in the film are:
1)    I was expecting that Joe was going to realise that he liked being a teacher. The flash backs really set up that was going to happen but then I just did not.
2)    I was hoping that we would get a time skip to a few years later and joe and the person that 22 went into would meet. I was expecting that the happen from the beginning.
*spoilers done*
Adventures in babysitting/A night in the town (directed by Chris Columbus) – 1987 (12 or pg. if you watch the Disney + cut) 4 stars.
This film is about 17-year-old Chris Parker (played by Elisabeth Shue) who is babysitting 8-year-old Sara Anderson (played by Maia Brewton) and her 15-year-old brother, Brad (Played by Keith Coogan), but ends up in a night full of adventures, along with Brad’s friend, Daryl (played by Anthony Rapp), due to Chris needing to pick up her friend, Brenda (played by Penelope Ann Miller).
I gave this movie a high rating because I think it’s a nice funny, sweet movie. I has great family like bonds between them all, which I love to see, and it makes you feel good watching it.
What I liked in this film was that it felt like it wasn’t trying to be realistic and because of that anything so unrealistic that happens feels normal.
I do highly recommend this movie to anyone who likes comedic adventurous films.
*spoilers*
One thing I liked that I found funny was how the gang was trying to capture the kids and Chris all because of the Playboy.
I also really love the scene when we find out Chris’s boyfriend, mike (played by Bradley Whitford), was cheating and after Brads speech about Chris then says he isn’t going to hurt mike because he is a bigger person, Daryl kicks mike. I think the main reason I loved this scene was because it really shows how different each character is from each other, but they still have a great friendship.
One thing that did annoy me about this film was Chris and Dan together at the end. It would have been okay for me, but she broke up with her boyfriend that night. Also, we don’t know how old Dan is, all we know is he is in collage and Chris is 17 in high school.
*spoilers done*
Z-O-M-B-I-E-S (directed by Paul Hoen) – 2018 (pg.) 4½ stars.
This film is about a zombie named Zed (played by Milo Manheim) and a human cheerleader named Addison (played by Meg Donnelly) who become close very quickly and need to hide that due to the fact that humans still believe that zombies are evil monsters.
I gave this film a high rating due to the how this movie made me feel, it quickly became a comfort movie for me, if you watch it you will understand where I’m coming from.
I also want to point out that yes, this is a very cheesy movie but its Disney channel, what else do you expect?
And despite it being the classic Disney channel cheese it is, I would like to pinpoint that it covers issues I think kids should learn about, for example; discrimination, not to pay attention to stereotypes and rumours also not to bully someone and just because they may be ‘different’
Highly recommend to all kids and anyone older if they love cheesy films.
*spoilers*
I have seen that some people don’t like the fact that Addison compared her hair would get her treated the same way Zed gets does, and I can see where they come from but to me, I interpret Addison’s hair and wig as real things people can hide about themselves, so they don’t get treated badly and zombies as something that people can’t hide about themselves.
*spoilers done*
Z-O-M-B-I-E-S 2 (directed by Paul Hoen) – 2020 (pg.) 2 ½ stars
This film is about werewolves coming to Seabrook/Zombietown due to their charms running out of their powers, needing to find the moon stone with help from a whitehaired teenager.
I gave this movie a low rating mainly due to how much it disappointed me. I expected much more, especially because of how the first one was amazing. This film felt very fast paced and felt like they didn’t put as much effort into it.
But saying that I do recommend watching, it’s still a fun time watching.
*spoilers*
Examples of what annoyed me in this movie was;
1.     How the zombies as well as the humans automatically assumed the werewolves where evil. You would have thought that the zombies would be more understanding since humans thought that about them before and that humans wouldn’t have jumped to that conclusion as they were wrong about zombies.
2.     The ban on all monsters when the zombies didn’t do anything wrong.
3.     How bucky went back to hating zombies. I don’t understand why because at the end of the first movie he realised zombies aren’t bad.
4.     Eliza should have ran for school resident! Mainly due to her having such strong views I feel like she would have taken it very seriously.
*spoilers done*
Official secrets (directed by Gavin Hood) – 2019 (15) 3¾ stars
This film is about the true events of Katherine Gun (played by Kira Knightly), who is a British intelligence specialist and leaked secret information about an illegal NSA spy operation made to urge the UN security council to give approval for the 2003 invasion of Iraq, to the press hoping to avoid this from happening.
I gave this movie this rating due to how it keeps you engaged in what is happening, despite it being a sort of slow burn. Also, from what I heard it stayed true the real events (I’m 17 so I wasn’t old enough to remember it myself) and I like how it used the actual news footage.
This movie is also easy to follow and to know what’s happening.
I highly recommend this film if you love learning about true events/find them interesting.
The green mile (directed by Frank Darabont) – 1999 (18) 5 stars
This film is about Paul Edgecomb (played by Tom Hanks and Dabbs Greer), the commanding officer of the death row cellblock at Cold Mountain Penitentiary in Louisiana, who meets inmate, John Coffey (played by Michael Clarke Duncan), who has been accused of murdering two young girls. Paul’s life isn’t the same when he discovers John’s special gifts.
I gave this movie such a high rating because it’s just such a masterpiece of a movie. The actors did an amazing job at portraying their characters and made sure you like the characters your meant to like, despite what they did in the past and dislike the characters your meant to dislike.
This movie also gave me so many emotions, for example, one moment I’m really happy and the movie is making me feel good then the next I can’t stop crying.
Despite the rating being an 18+, I would recommend to anyone 15+.
*spoilers*
I would like to state that the mouse, Mr. Jingles is my favourite character so, if you have seen it, you can guess that when Percy (played by Doug Hutchinson) stepped on the poor thing busted into tears and then when John healed him, I started crying even more because I was so happy.
I also thought the ending to the film was very poetic in the way the Paul is still alive and that being his curse, and having to see everyone he cares about die, due to John being executed despite, in the end, being innocent.
*spoilers done*
Those are all the movies I watched this month. Please know that these are my opinions, and its perfectly okay of you have different ones.
This is the first time I have ever done something like this so please let me know how I can improve. And let me know your thoughts.

Bridgerton 1x01
All my thoughts!
So, first thing’s first - the costuming really works in context. By which I mean, the postmodern use of inaccurate prints, beading, sleeves, etc. I was not quite sure when I looked at the promo shots, but somehow in Regencyromancelandia it seems very appropriate.
But, speaking of costumes, the corsets are done so badly. First off we start with a “lace her tighter! grab something and take a deep breath!” scene, which leads to the Miss Featherington fainting after being presented ... Lady Featherington is bragging about how her waist was the circumference of an orange when she was presented, but that’s irrelevant because Regency corsets are not built for much waist reduction, and even if they were, overall slenderness was prized a lot more than tiny waists in this period where you can’t actually see any women’s waists! A more subtle point, but later in the episode Daphne Bridgerton’s shown to be bleeding on her back, with the implication that it’s from her corset (because nobody wears chemises in Regencyromancelandia). Probably meant as symbolism about women’s roles and the patriarchy hurting her but I’m just sitting here thinking that the top of your back is the last place for your corset to be cutting into you even without a chemise.
The corsets are in general cut very, very badly. Long story short, in this period they’re supposed to be made to hold the breasts out, not push them up and together so much that they’re flat in profile. It looks deeply uncomfortable for everyone and also very unflattering.
As mentioned before, Queen Charlotte’s costuming is ridiculously old-fashioned - not just the hoops, but the 1770s hair. I vibe less with this then the postmodernism. Also, the short bangs, they’re both inaccurate and unattractive so why?? Are short bangs coming back in style?
More non-costume thoughts below:
I always find it interesting that Regencyromancelandia has this set body of slang that’s practically a requirement ... but does not reflect actual historical usage. “Diamond of the first water” is practically a social rank in Regency novels, but in reality it’s not a phrase that was used to describe anything but diamonds until later in the century, when it seems to have been applied to men in society, not ladies. (Literal physical dance cards are also from later in the century than the Regency.)
The meet-cute where a man gets mad at a woman for something accidental on her part is kind of a boring trope in that it makes me just get annoyed with him for not believing her, but it’s also pretty effective for making sparks. SHIPT.
We love a duke with daddy issues, who finds a big unruly happy family to be part of. Though that being said, it’s not such a happy family, as Anthony is a massive fuckhead. I’m hoping that there’s a storyline in this season or a later one where he apologizes to his mother and Daphne after coming to his senses about the  respect they’re owed from him.
I love Penelope but she looks about 15, I feel weird about shipping her with Colin. Though I just checked and Nicola Caughlin is exactly my age. But it feels like she’s not quite old enough to be out in society yet.
Hit Nigel, Daphne! Get his ass!
