I don't know if you know but I love roads. Something about them makes me want to paint every road I have ever been on so that's what I started doing, painting roads in gouache. This one has a huge flood. 🙂

Heyyyy! I’m new here! This is my first post so Here’s a little introduction ig~
Im Colebi, it’s not my real name , it’s a mix of my three pet rats names. Im 16, from Scotland and my pronouns are she/her. Im queer but I’m not sure what kind yet lmao. I’ve been making digital art for about 3 years, I love drawing animals and nature themed things. I love fantasy art and drawing bright glowy things. My instagram is @art_by_colebi and u definitely follow me there because I don’t know how to use this app yet ✌️

The beginning of something new
Still adjusting to life after artschool, but setting yourself deadlines does work or at least im finding it works for me. I'm chipping away at this painting a handful of hours a week in amongst living and work, i hope to have it finished by my birthday in January but may run out of time. Any comments and thoughts are always appreciated.

I have decided to start posting to Tumblr again - it has been a couple of years - but I always did like the format here, so lets see what has changed since then. I started painting - both digitally and IRL and have amassed a large body of work to share. If you like the shit, then REBLOG THE SHIT. Or find me at ocularics.com or Insta or Vero.

Module 1: What is Drawing?
Pattern Study 2
For this set of developments I used an oil pastel drawing of a glass bottle top as the starting point. I wanted to explore the patterns within the glass.
I used the same methods as the other pattern study to collect my reference material. Once I had completed all 3 developments I thought the final one resembled a birds eye view of a field.
I went on to collect imagery from NASA satellites, looking for fields, mountains and colours similar to those I had used within my 3rd development. I used those to create my final outcome for this set.
I used watered down acrylic paint to create the base and give it more visual interest than the flat colour. I then embroidered the paper to create more depth and give the illusion of fields, rivers etc. I am very happy with the outcome of this study I really enjoyed working in mixed media and bringing in making skills within drawing.
