Can we take the time to appreciate the mother from The Tale of Princess Kaguya? This movie may not be as popular as it should, but like she is one of the sweetest moms in the history of media and I wish there were more moms like her out there. Like she adopts a magical baby born from a bamboo sprout and raises her and loves her unconditionally as if she was her own child. She wasn’t suspicious of the child and didn’t reject or make any judgements about her, she just raised, nurtured, and loved her as she is. Even if she had mysterious, supernatural powers and grew faster than normal children, she still loved her. Even if she had no desire to become princess (against her will) and live a life of prestige and luxury, she still loved her. Even when she was going through a deep depression and longing, she still loved her. No matter what Princess was going through, mom was always there to comfort and take care of her. She was also there to listen and understand her feelings when nobody else bothered to, including her husband. Let’s not forget her soft-spoken and gentle personality throughout the movie. She always spoke with softness and tenderness and she never yelled at, scolded, or shamed Princess for anything. She had so much patience and understood that nobody’s perfect and that stuff just happens. Whoever is reading this, if this is your first time hearing about this movie, I highly guarantee you it’s worth watching. I wish it was as popular as the other Ghibli movies, but unfortunately it’s not and not many people talk about it either. This movie deserves more recognition and popularity than it has. I just wanted to share my love for this queen with y’all.

The discovery of self is an extremely important journey. Perhaps that is why there are so many stories about it. To find yourself or to start on the path of knowing yourself is something that everyone can relate to. It can be a dangerous path though. Particularly in a fantasy world with airships and magic.
Castle in the Sky comes from the amazing mind of creator Hayao…

With The Boy and the Heron, Miyazaki really said: I accept that my legacy is out of my control, that my children may not be my successors, that this tremendous monument I've built with a lifetime of toil, this fiery blessing that simply fell out of the sky, may not continue without me, In fact, it may crumble to dust, I accept it because my children and their children are alive and well, in this imperfect world, and thats enough. Yes, I accept that this is the end, but God damn, I'll go out with a bang.

Princess Kaguya is a Pisces ♓️
I think she is a Pisces because at the beginning of the movie when she was born, it was spring and the flowers were starting to bloom. Flowers bloom very early in Japan (in early March or mid/late February). Also she’s very kind-hearted, gentle, and loves nature and animals. She is spiritually gifted and has a creative side (like in that one scene when she was drawing instead of learning to write). She’s an old soul, yet a child at heart. She never loses her childlike wonder or ability to see the beauty in life, no matter how much pressure society puts on her. She’s definitely a Pisces :)🌸
