When Ratchet took the synthetic Energon, there were plenty of unexpected effects, many of which were negative. He did regret the harm he'd caused (except against Megatron. That part was justified.) while under its influence.

But it had been the first time in Primus knows how many cycles nothing had ached. He felt no resistance from his joints when he moved. Nothing creaked. He couldn't remember the last time he felt that good.

He wanted to feel like that again. He knew he couldn't. Not without hurting the bots (and humans) he cared about.

All the more reason to get back to work.

Namely that we really should have ended the flashback when WWX fell. #And then gone back to present time for a bit - or even go to a different flashback. #The sense of time passing isn't as strong as it *could* be. #We get *told* three months pass and that they've been looking for WWX. But to the audience it's been...15 min. #Less than seven minutes if you count the flute playing. #This guy when through a whole aesthetic and persona shift in less time than it takes to walk through a corn field. #Guy who listened to less than half an emo album and dyed all his clothes black. And jorted all his jeans. #Timeskips can be sudden and work out just fine! I personally feel like this one would be stronger with better pacing. #Feel free to disagree with me! #In case anyone is wondering why JC and LWJ are still holding hands: 1) Haunted house episode. #2) I needed to practice drawing hand holding at some point. What he means: This entire scenario makes me uncomfortable because Jack’s banter is akin to the bullying I’ve dealt with my entire life. He reminds me of those who stoned me for picking flowers, or those who blatantly mocked me for being soft. I know he’s your friend, and I want to like him for you. But seeing you willingly engage in something that brings up bad memories is hard for me.

What he says: This is who I am, Stede. Do you see me now? You’re always going to realize what I am.

What he means: This is a part of me that I’ve never been able to escape. This is who I’ve masqueraded as for years and years. This is something I’m afraid I’ll always have to be. Jack feels like a representation of that persona, and you dislike him, so I don’t want you to dislike me. I don’t want you to see who I believe myself to be, and consequently hate me as well. So I’m leaving before you can. I’m leaving before it’s too late. I’m choosing to leave before I lose you.

Fascinated by people just getting into WTNV and asking if there is a list of episodes to listen to, omitting the "unimportant" stuff I assume.

Chill, you all. Night Vale has been ongoing for around 11 years and it's yet to show any sign that it intends to end any time soon, so you can take your time. Even if it ended soon, there is time.

Enjoy the episodes as they are. Chew on them.

WTNV does this very special thing of making the town feel alive, not every citizen gets an arc or even a spotlight, but they're constant, they're there, living their lives. Those little details, little mentions of everyone growing and continuing living as time pass make it feel so nice.

And then, one day, Night Vale surprises you, and, oh, hey, remember that one intern whose death wasn't confirmed? Well, he has come back, and if you remember him and remember what happened to him at the time, you'll be able to connect the dots of the current arc faster.

The MOST unexpected things come back. The town is alive.

Just enjoy the ride! Enjoy Cecil's voice. Enjoy listening about this friendly desert community where the sun is hot, the moon is beautiful, and mysterious lights pass overhead while we all pretend to sleep.
