I will never understand the obsession with making tims favourite robin Jason when it couldn't be more painfully obvious that tims favourite robin was Dick

Like people are so caught up in the concept, the made up angst, that tims favourite robin beat him up that they straight up misunderstand how much more significant Tim and Dicks relationship is not to mention the added layers of Tim originally being created as the ultimate self insert character which for a good number of readers meant they grew up with Dick as their favourite robin and didn't really like Jason just for not being Dick

bat people since im currently reading a bat fic (if you want another fandom lmk)

alfred - obv can cook very well, but i imagine he does have a british bent so if you asked for a british dish it fucks hard but if you asked for like fideuà it would be pretty okay but your grandma's is better. he enjoys doing it.

bruce - can cook but it's very basic and bland. hates doing it for himself but would be pleased to be asked. i cant imagine him giving a shit about seasonings if he is doing it for himself but if he tried for someone else he'd be like oh this is well seasoned :) but it's just like. mid. he thinks its great though.

dick - can cook. i think it's occasionally smth he really enjoys, but not all the time. loves doing it for other people. i don't think he's that adventurous though. probably has a set of around 5ish really fantastic dishes to pull out for special times. if he likes you he Will Learn your favorite dish and try his hardest with it

jason - can cook, actually does like it a lot, likes to experiment. i think he has read salt fat acid heat and can improv easily bc he actually understands the basics super well. i think he has a preference for simpler foods, just based on his priorities, but he will bust out something complex ever so often

tim - can cook but hates it so much. if you ask him he'll be like okay :) (disgruntled). he tends towards basic things like chicken breast + rice. will not experiment. tends to be weirdly spiced bc he did it for himself too much and it's morphed into something tim-specific. prefers to just get take out or frozen shit.

steph - college strudent level cooking. she's gotta have that recipe Right There or Else. she can cook the basics w/o that and it be good though. i think her baking probably slaps. she had an easy bake as a kid and i know it (90s girl in the burbs? please she had to have). doesnt really like cooking but doesnt hate it. give her a few years and she'll have a mastered set of good dishes like dick.

cass - cannot cook but learning. i think she would be good at it, provided hands on training. messy af tho, her clean up takes a while but she doesnt mind. i think she would be like bruce in that for herself cooking is a pain and not smth she'd do but if someone were hungry she would like to feed them some real good food & would prefer to learn everyone's favorites and go from there

damien - can cook, doesn't really enjoy it but it is good. i imagine as he gets older he might develop more of an appreciation and experiment. would get really pissy if asked currently but also brag. regardless i think he would enjoy it and have fun as an adult

babs - can cook and is good. can improvise in small amounts. and a tangent- i am also physically disabled and i know sometimes cooking...it's just like. a whole fucking Thing even if you've adapated as much as you can. so i imagine babs is similar and sometimes the process is just. overwhelming and annoying. there are other times she really enjoys it though, it just depends on how things are going.

duke - can cook but i dont think he actually thinks about it all that much. it's mainly a rotation of dishes he knows well. it's good, but like. he isnt giving it much thought. a chore, if you will, autopilotesque. as he gets older i can see him being very invested if it's for someone else and going on to experiment but maintaining a non-attitude towards doing it for himself.

kate - extremely practical about it. very much like bruce in that she doesnt really like it, but her seasoning is much better. has one banger dish she pulls out for special occasions. i think as she's gotten older she's become more comfortable with it, but it's never gonna be a top priority

helena - extremely good imo. i cant imagine she didnt push herself w/ cooking. was surprised at how much she liked it at first but cooking is v enjoyable. loves to experiment, loves to learn new things, i think her wheelhouse is the sheer variety of things she likes and is willing to do

jean paul valley - you see his grad major?...he cant cook /jk jk im sorry i know yall can cook. but i dont feel like he specifically has a good handle on it. okay with like. basic pasta and jarred sauce. dont ask more of him than that. he would not want to do more than that. give him insta ramen anyday. he would not burn down the kitchen or anything but would be stressed af

HERES SOME SPOOKYMONTH CHARACTERS AND POKEMON I THINK THEY’D LIKE/HAVE ON THEIR TEAM AND OTHER GOOFY POKEMON STUFFS

(doesn’t include any pokemon from s/v since i havent played it yet)

Lila- Wouldn’t really have a specific preference in pokemon type, but she would have a preference in quadpedal pokemon or medium to small size pokemon. SHE WOULD DEFINETLY HAVE A SMERGLE FUCK YOU! SHE WOULD!!! DONT ASK WHY IM SO PASSIONATE ABOUT THIS!!!! Other pokemon she may have include duskull, eevee (maybe), lillipup, murkrow, and spritzi (idfk know how you spell it, but the tiny birb thing!). She prefers to do rotation battles and mainly uses stat changing attacks and sp defense boosters.

Skid- Dark/Ghost type pokemon and maybe some fairy/rock/ground types. No big preference in the pokemons’ physical traits, but likes to be able to ride them around for fun. Main pokepartner would be a Drifloon/Drifblin or Gengar. Other pokemon he may have would be bannette, litwick/lampent, phantump, mawhile, whimsicott, and morelull/shiinotic. Has a preference for double battles, but also likes to do it with multiple trainers (so like him and pump vs two other ppl, pretty sure its called a multibattle but i dont wanna check). Mostly uses offensive moves that deal some sort of personal stat change, but also favors status effect moves.

Dad guy (i dont think he haves a name… dad guy? Dad guy!)- Dark type pokemon, maybe some psychic and ghost types thrown in there. All of them are pure type btw. Main pokemon are Banette and Corsola (galarian form to be specific). He has only those two pokemon. Like they’re the only two that stay on his team, if he has other pokemon, he’s just borrowing them from his followers or some other means. Legally he only owns those two. He has a preference for status effect moves and gives his pokemon many herbs and powders rather than potions and sprays. Loves single battles, but he also enjoys the idea of cornering trainers and beating their pokemon to the ground in double battles too. Banned from the GTS.

Mr. Wonder/Gramps- He doesn’t have a type or appearance preference, but normal types seem to really like him for whatever reason. For his main pokepartner has a furfrou with no special haircut, but it’s definitely in need of a trim bc that bitch is LOOOONG!!!!! He personally doesn’t like to battle his pokemon, he just likes to relax and cuddle with ‘em. Other pokemon he has are pidov, dunsparce, komala, and minccino.

Pump- He likes ghost and psychic (and maybe some dark types) pokemon!! His main partner is a surprisingly a miltank. Like imagine fighting a trainer with some neat ghost pokemon then BOOM miltank (i have personal beef against miltank which we will NOT get into). Anyway- Some pokemon on his team are Murkrow, espeon, abra, and dusclops! Has no preference for pokemon battles or move types. He does give his pokemon items to hold that look nice (which sometimes affects their stats).

Susie- No type preference, she likes unevolved pokemon (like still base form). She main pokepartner is a skitty she’s had for- i dunno but it’s really long time. She also has an eevee. She doesn’t really battle (she thinks they’re boring), but she does enjoy signing her pokemon up for contests bc she likes to dress em up and make them look pretty :•]

hii id like to request a matchup as i see you’re doing them! id prefer characters from twisted wonderland or enstars, i dont really play obey me. umm for my personality i feel like i’m an ambivert, more on the introvert side! i’m very reserved for the first few months of meeting but i can really open up fast depends on my mood or the environment! i dont talk much and am not a sappy person either mainly due to not being very great with words. i like to think that i’m funny but i laugh at almost everything i’m starting to doubt it…i enjoy helping others with tasks and such! i’m indecisive so having someone who can make quick decisions for me in those moments r great if i really like u i will be a little mean at first but after a while i think im very nice and will even take initiative which i dont do often. i think an important thing too about me is if i don’t really have anything in common with a person it’s very difficult for me to talk to them. i dislike small talk because i feel like i’m too awkward for that. despite me being more of an introvert, i get lots of energy being around people but also lose the energy a bit fast too.

thinking about the implementation of oppression and marginalization in fantasy lore bc of how i spoke about the importance of not falling into the 'everyone is bi just because' game romance issue, and how DAI had a character like Dorian.

but was thinking harder about it because of the other kinds of high fantasy oppression in BG3 versus DA in general. BG3 doesnt seem to have any oppression other than race? there is sometimes discomfort with warlocks i guess. but not much else. and as far as i can see no sexuality/gender issues, esp sexuality due to all character ignoring it entirely.

DA worked quite a bit of marginalization into their world. and lets disregard how well its writte- if its well written at all- lets just thinking about the idea of inserting it at all...

the most blunt oppression is the long term oppression against mages, and also elves. its pretty intense too-- its not just some offhand comments, its literal enslavement, abuse and even genocide. theyre very hard and uncomfortable subjects. while there isnt race oppression against human skin colors (as far as i could recall), its against the different fantasy races still. i havent heard of or see anything this crazy in BG3, minus the intro with the Druids, but it is a smaller scale situation with specific circumstances that dont seem to reflect this happening on a massive scale to teiflings, not on the scale of DA's long running history. i cant speak on race specific oppression, but i think its important to notice that intense difference, in the choice they made to include it at all.

on the other hand there is sexuality and gender. as i have said before, BG3 has no sexuality issues, and no supposed gender issues (mainly with your option to pick male, female, and nonbinary and it has zero effect on your game). everyone is bi.. but are they? they all have no preference for the sake of gameplay. gender isnt specifically brought up in regards to trans people maybe existing, or nonbinary. on the other hand, DA has shown some prejudice against non-straight people and trans people. most of it seems to be "personal" in the sense that character like Dorian seem to describe that people in society recognize gays, and that most dont seem bothered, but that individual families can and do depending on their beliefs or status. But even with a society that seems to be fine with it, there are obviously still issues that can arise when someone's sexuality is involved depending on who it is and how it affects their society directly. Characters like Krem faced significant prejudice as well in his backstory.

All of this is also quite similar to our world, painfully so. the hard part about this is not trying to word this in a way that makes it sound like im saying "i love seeing genocide against a race! homophobia is good and people should suffer through it. even in fantasy!" because that really isnt it. but i fail to understand why youd deny existence of these things in any fictional media. a lot of the time i see people say they dont want to see oppressed races or sexuality in fantasy worlds, its simply followed by the fact that oppression sucks- and thats true. but like ANY subject, people deserve to write about it and explore it in a means to understand themself, or society, or anything they need to reflect about the world. writing is so important for that!! if we can see metaphors for our issues or coding for chaaracters, why can we not just be straight forward about it too??

a lot of the time we connect strongly with characters and stories that reflect who we are. sometimes that is painful stuff. it doesnt make sense to me to never ever tackle those subjects in fiction. i get wanting to have a safe space in fiction, but that cant be all fiction.

Would u ever be comfortable taking design commissions? :-0 like if we could provide a base idea / color palette / whatever else for you. Mainly asking w a fursona in mind cause I love love love your designs and would kill 4 a pubby design from u ^^ absolutely cool if not tho!!

I would be down, i did a design comm earlier this year actually ^_^ the only thing is i need sort of more involved details from the start? so idk if it wld be worth it depending on what you have in mind...for example, i did a test run with a mutual to see if i could do design comms and I failed badly, because its very difficult for me to just work with a moodboard and really broad theme/aes (which is all i was given)

but I sort of more collabed with the buyer to make the design i linked ^_^ and was given more cohesive details that helped the design actually take form in my head, like "chubby, soft + gentle, creams/blondes/browns" as well as misc details like this image

this ⬇ was even sort of the blank slate i presented em which we then worked together to make the final with after they gave more input

so yes id be down!!! + i dont need. EVERY single detail bc then you'd literally be doing all the work but Im just letting you (and others) know I definitely prefer a more involved collab sort of style so that I can tweak the creacher to your tastes as best as possible vs "here's a pinterest board of aesthetic pics and the species i want. go wild and THEN ill ask you to edit every little thing because i wasnt specific enough to begin with."

there's probably like a million others out there already, but since im seeing a lot of my friends hop on tumblr due to the twitter situation i figured i'd give this a go. so, welcome to

panko's guide to tumblr!

i've been using this site for almost a year now, so i suppose i'm at least somewhat qualified to do this. i mainly just want to do this for fun honestly. i think lots of people have covered more of the setup and what to expect from tumblr as a whole so i think i'll focus on more of the usage of this site, because it's definitely much different from twitter, and, in my opinion, FAR better, plus that's the thing people seem to be the most confused about. so, here we go!

Post Features

the first thing you may notice is that tumblr has no character limit on posts! if you want to post a 10,000 word essay on the motives of your favorite character from the video game or tv show you're super into right now, nobody's stopping you. already so much more convenient than making threads on twitter.

there's a variety of options you can use to make your text more visually interesting, add emphasis, and/or organize your post! when you highlight text (at least on browser, i dont use the app), these options will appear above what you highlighted. you can make your text bold, italicized, bigger (on a new line), smaller, crossed out, or even colored! under the drop-down list there are other options too such as cursive text and lists. you can also add hyperlinks to text if you want. (this is all in the rich text editor, you can also switch to HTML or Markdown by going to your post settings.)

you can also add plenty of other media to posts! you can add up to 30 images which you can arrange however you please, although from my experience arranging images is kinda clunky, but still way better than twitter lol. you can also add gifs, videos (one per post), audio files (10 per post), and embed links. you can also add a cutoff line where everything under that line is hidden under a "read more" button, which is very useful for longer posts.

when you make a post, there is a space to add a title, but it's not required. most people don't add titles unless it helps with formatting.

you can also schedule a post to be posted at a certain time, queue posts to be posted on a consistent schedule, change who can reblog a post, and even save posts as drafts if you want/need to come back to them later.

Tags

Under every post you make/reblog, there is an option to add tags. these are in their own section under the post itself. you can add as many as you want afaik, but they can only be so many characters long. on tumblr, tags have multiple uses.

you can add tags that correspond to your post such as the topic or fandom (and characters/people involved), or whether it's art or photography, for example, to try to help get your post out there. it's preferred and just better in general to only add tags that are relevant to your post. don't tag character fanart as sports or food or pop music, but ESPECIALLY not an unrelated fandom.

you can also use tags to organize your blog and make it easier to find specific posts. you can tag your own art as "my art" and art you reblog from friends as "friends' art", and even create your own tags for specific topics you frequently post about, such as your oc world or a fandom fic or au you have. i personally don't use tags for organization much, but i do have my own tags for the two oc worlds i have. (you can do this even if you're not a fandom-goer or artist, these just serve as an example bc im both lol)

you can even use tags to add extra comments to a post. lord knows i do this a lot myself. lots of people will use tags to sort of ramble off-handedly under a post when it's not the main content of said post. this is especially common under reblogs - more on that later. since you can add spaces within tags, writing full sentences in the tags is easy and a very common practice. just be careful when using commas; adding a comma starts a new tag.

Notes

similarly to how twitter has likes, retweets and comments, tumblr has likes, reblogs and replies. however, these are all combined into one sum of notes. all notes on a post are compiled under the source post. by clicking on the number of notes under a post, you can see a list of all replies, likes and reblogs on a post, if you're curious like me.

on tumblr, likes act as more of a bookmarking tool. you can look at a list of all the posts you liked, and you can have this list displayed on your blog if you want, but likes do NOT increase the visibility of a post. if you want to help a post gain traction, you need to reblog it. if you don't want that post on your blog, but you want to let the person know that you've seen and enjoyed their post, you can leave a like as a small but kind gesture if you want. if you were playing minecraft, liking a post would be akin to punching a mob, but reblogging would be like using a sword. it may not necessarily be a powerful diamond sword, but it does more than a one-damage punch. i should also mention - you can only like a post once; if you like a reblog of a post, you like the source post and can't like separate reblogs of the post.

reblogs are the core of tumblr's functionality. this site does not have an algorithm, so reblogs are the only way for posts to circulate. it's probably pretty easy to figure out, but reblogs put another person's post on your own blog and on your followers' feeds. this is likely the biggest difference between tumblr and twitter: you can reblog a post as many times as you want, and you can add on to a post directly by reblogging, which is much different from a quote-tweet on twitter. also different from quote-tweets, all notes on reblogs are notes contributed to the source post. in a reblog, you can add a comment either in normal text or in the tags, and you can add images and gifs as well. it's common courtesy to put comments that don't contribute to the post in the tags, such as saying you think a post is funny. lots of famous tumblr posts are chains of reblogs - unlike on twitter where you can only retweet one tweet/reply at a time, you can reblog these reblog chains. you can also add the tags of the person you reblogged from to your own reblog if you want, though usually people just say "prev" if they liked the previous reblogger's tags.

replies are a convenient way to have a conversation under a post without repeatedly reblogging. although convenient, replies are limited in what you can do with them. they're text-only and have a character cap. but they're still a good way to add a quick comment to a post if you don't want it on your blog. you can also reply directly to a person in the notes of a post by mentioning them in your reply. replies can be deleted from a post or be turned off for a post entirely by the original poster.

im ranting bc why not

its been years, almost 3 since i first really started questioning my gender but i cant help to think that i only started questioning because a saw a trans person and thought they were cool and that it'd be fun to be different like that (that's horrible, i know). I started questioning when i figured out i liked girls, i guess that opened up my mind to being in other communities of the lgbtqia+ community. I started dressing more masc and then i wanted to cut my hair short so i did and everytime since then, whenever it got somewhat long i decided cut it short again. It never felt that I liked it short, it was just when it was longer after having it short, id look in the mirror and i didnt seem like me, i hated how i looked with that mid-length growing out style, and im pretty sure it was the cause of some of my panic attacks. The thing is that i dont know if that is dysphoria. also during this time, i started to hate how my chest looked, but mainly only when i wore an outfit, it just looked completely wrong, and i dont know why. pretty sure this has been the cause of many panic attacks as well. which is so weird because just a year before i was begging the universe to give me a bigger chest. i didnt think i felt like a exactly guy, i didnt think i didnt feel like a girl specifically, but i figured all signs might be pointing to that. so i tested out a name which stuck and i still go by today along with some pronouns (he/they), but i don't know if i ever decided if that was what i liked and prefered, or if it was just something ive been rolling with for these 3 years. because when i think about being called my chosen name or pronouns it feels weird, like i get these uncomfortable butterflies in my stomach and i dont know why. They dont usually happen when im called them, just when im thinking bout being called them, or when im thinking about my gender identity in general. there have also been times when ive had a breakdown about being afab (i think, not sure tho) but i still doubt it all the damn time. wtf is wrong with me

So.. 👉👈 Do y'all want another mainly childhood friends to strangers to lovers romantic anxceit fic plot i came up with the other day? Think Janus as an up&coming famous clothing designer and Virgil a royal prince

I say mainly anxceit bc the end goal is DLAMP at least but I haven't delved as far into that bit yet as its starting setting is anxceit centric but.

Fuck it, yall are getting it. Have the whole ramble under this cut:

Okay. So:

Tailor/seamstress Janus and royal prince Virgil, but they only knew eachother as children, before janus got his scar, and made Virgil his first favorite jacket

Say there was a war going on when they were young, and janus was virgil's best friend while he went into hiding. Janus was the only one who virgil ever told he was royalty atm, and Virgil was the only person Janus has ever told his real name to. Bc as an adult he goes by dee, or his popular name Deceit(bc he makes it big as a fashion tailor/seamstress thing)

And maybe cuz theyre 7-8 y/o kids and its literally a lil over a decade until they meet again, they dont have clear memories of what the other looked like(for Janus bc of his scar, for virgil bc of his 'peasant disguise') and they probably had a spat over something that kids can't rly grasp at their age(the tension of war, being far away from home with no knowledge on whether there was going to be a home to come home to at the end) and when Virgil can finally come out of hiding and leaves Janus behind, theres a bittersweet goodbye with some unresolved tension and

Even tho Janus knows theyre 'fighting' though, Janus still gives Virgil an oversized jacket as a goodbye gift, its patched with pretty purple plaid(virgils favorite color) and hints of sunflower yellow patches and stitching on the inside to mend the remaining tatters, and unknowingly to Janus, Virgil has kept it all these years as his favorite comfort item and momento of Janus.

There is context that one of the things Janus shares with Virgil when theyre kids is that he wants to be a famous clothing designer when he grows up, bc he isnt suited for farmwork due to his weak legs/joints, but he hasnt come up with a name for himself yet when virgil leaves.

"Just you wait, Virge, I'll be coming to work at the castle in no-time, then we can still be friends and i can make tons of clothes that you actually like!"

But, sometime between their last and next meeting, Janus's family home catches fire, and as a result Janus loses his parents and suffers extensive burns himself as a result(almost sucumbing himself but just barely pulling through)

Virgil doesn't catch word of it till he's 19 and comes to the town on a wim due to conveniently nearby travel plans, thinking that maybe he can find his old friend again and rekindle their friendship, only to ask around and get sad looks.

"Oh, the old Sunflower Farm? ...Im so sorry dear, it burned down 2 years ago. I dont think even the youngest made it out.. No ones heard anything since, anyway.."

And of course u know he goes to visit the farm's remains and finds a lil memorial, but it only seems to have the parents names and no mention of Janus's name anyway. Virgil is anguished and confused but he doesnt have the time to ask around more, so he pays his respects to the people who protected him in a time of war and moves on, diligant about keeping his comfort item well kept bc now its really set in that its the only thing hes got left to remember Janus.

Timeskip to their first meeting in years.

Janus goes by 'Dee' now bc he's trying to distance himself from his past(while still healthily mourning his parents and taking time to heal himself)as he pursues his career bc he's not looking to have part of his image be any more 'mysterious tragic past' than his scars already make it to be.

Ironically his moniker of 'Deceit' is inspired by his specific style of fashion that can transform into upwards of 2-3 styles based not only on preference and attraction but also functionality. Things like a reverseable skirt, skirts that can be adjusted to 3 different lengths, skirts that have been given the ability to be pinned into shorts, jackets with removable sleeves, to name one line of ideas. Another is just the kind of color theory concept of hiding an image in plain sight just with clothing designs. Or just purely transformative preformitive fashion(think those cosplay dresses that go from cinderella's maid dress to full gown in just a few spins, ect.) for grand balls and weddings, ect. But also just. Known for very popular and regal yet often still practical and (comparably)comfortable.

And eventually Janus gets an invite to design and make Virgil's outfit for the first grand ball thrown since Virgil's coronation as crowned Prince(now that the war is officially over), as a means of opening up communications with other kingdoms again as well as accepting offers of courtship. Virgil isnt at all happy w/ it but he doesnt exactly have a choice..

So of course their first meeting has Janus strutting in with full confidence(though still plenty respectful) bc out of the two, he still remembers Virgil and maybe wants to have a silly but sweet 'i told you i'd make it to the castle to see you again' moment but he doesnt immediately catch on that virgil doesnt remember him.

And maybe there were some other stressors or what have you from thedays before, but it leads to Virgil holding/wearing his well-loved jacket Janus gave him from years ago during the meeting. Its probably another reason why Janus kinda doesnt catch on immediately, bc he sees it and internally goes 'gods you still haven't let go of that? You do remember me! I'm touched'

And maybe in his giddiness he also forgets that he looks different. The scars, even faded, have changed his appearance, one eye a clouded white. They've both grown taller, though Janus had not grown quite as tall as Virgil had. And they weren't chubby cheeked 7 year olds anymore, either.

So you can kind of wince at the stumble that is Janus's first sentence to Virgil, said playfully and perhaps more smug than intented: "I believe now i'll be able to make you something better than that dusty old thing, don't you think?"

And the way Virgil shuts down more, his glare hardening and his shoulders hunching as he hisses "Daring to insinuate that I'd even want to replace something so dear to me is a bold first move, Tailor. Unfortunately I do not think you can replace the memory of a lost friend. I think we're done here.'

Bc Virgils stressed and he doesnt have the tolerance for people who act like they know better about things they know nothing about, and so he turns to storm out of the room only to hear Janus speak up, alot less smug and much more genuine,

"Well, I think I could try at least, considering that I was also the one who made the first.." Which is when Virgil whirls back around to Janus to find his demeanor has changed, and looks alot more.. Sad, per say? Contemplative, as he leans on his staff.

"I don't entertain petty jokes." Comes the quieter but still biting reply.

"There's a sunflower stitched on the inside of the left sleeve. It took 4 tries to get the stem to lay right. I complained about it for over an hour because I didnt think it had enough petals to look like a sunflower, because I couldn't undo it and waste thread fixing it. Your name is stitched into the inner neckline of the hood, where the biggest rip had been. Mine is stitched just under that sunflower."

"..they say you're called 'Dee.'"

"Only by those who don't know Me. one always needs a cover name for when they get popular, dont they?"

By this point Virgil is gripping the jacket so tight, disbelief in his eyes.

"They say you died, the farm, it caught fire?"

Janus takes his glove off his more scarred hand and gestures with it to his face, then the rest of his body, smiling softly in that melancholy way.

"Yes, well, It didnt stick, as you can see. Clearly."

And that's all it takes for Virgil to rush forward and scoop janus up into a tight but careful hug with a shaking;

"I missed you, Janus."

"I missed you too, Virgil."

...

Bonus funfact rambles for this au:

the main thing that makes it go from anxceit to dlampr is the royal ball involving a buncha royals coming to court Virgil and it becoming a big adorably silly polyamourous mess djdjd

...

I have so many feels abt it and most of them are giggling abt Janus gingerly crafting Virgil a new comfort hoodie type deal, putting a lot of care in every stitch to make sure its durable and able to last the years he knows it will be cherished. It isn't quite a replacement, as the first now exists primarily as a momento, but it gives Virgil a new comfort. A gift that says 'im still here, I'm still yours if you'll have me, you arent alone anymore.' And Virgil is able to actually wear it. Not just tie it around his shoulders or hold it, but actually be engulfed in a snug comforting coat, fit with extra pockets for nessesary backup gear/snacks, the same sewn-in style of purple plaid patches(this time much more stylized, as the base jacket is hand-made from scratch this time, not tattered), the royal storm cloud emblem on the chest, and a hidden embroidered sunflower just inside the left sleeve for Virgil to feel and fidget with and remember to breath.

An idea for rock creek au , rock trolls have sugar , but they prefer spicy and bitter food , sugar is cool in small quantities , but disgusting in big quantities ( like spicy food but inverse ) , one day creek just puts 6 packs of sugar ( or more ) into his coffe and drinks all in one gulp , while everyone just stares at him like ( how the hell ?!?!)

omggg i love that XD I do have bits in the story so far abt creek being unable to handle spicy and the rock trolls not understanding pop troll levels of sugar but... that's hilarious 😂 creek just gulping down a whole bunch of sugared up drink and suddenly a whole bunch of rock trolls staring at him--

oh, and this isnt really based on anything except my family's love of sour things, but I also came up with the idea that creek is unique between pop AND rock trolls and enjoys sour stuff! as in, he will eat a lemon like an orange or eat citric acid powder (the stuff that's on the outside of sour gummies) on its own XD

also, on the subject of food, your regular dose of angst for this AU:

he does have some food insecurities and diet issues throughout the story bc of differences in pop and rock diets :') i hc that pop trolls, especially creek, are majority lactose intolerant cuz they dont seem to have much of a dairy source, where rock trolls have cheese as a main staple of their diet. also, pop trolls seem to be majority vegetarian/vegan, and again especially creek, who likely only ever would eat meat "as nature provides" based on ttbgo. he doesnt seem like the type to eat it unless he's desperate, and by the time he gets to that state in this fic, well, bodies don't process meat well after NOT processing it for so long... plus, most of pop troll diets seem to be highly processed foods or fresh fruit, and rock trolls have different processes and live on an active volcano, which probably makes for very fertile areas where the lava is dormant bc of heat and minerals, but those don't seem common, esp in VRC itself, so I think fresh fruits and veggies are likely a luxury there! lots of canned and dried stuff is available tho

most of these issues are focused earlier in the story, when he's still recovering from being ill, and difficulties with diet certainly do not help. it does come up later in the story, but mainly when his differences from other rock trolls are highlighted, or in specific relevant scenes, which are much more spaced out compared to the whump of the first section 😅

Considering writing a Hermitcraft (mainly Grian and Mumbo) fic.

I’ve been reading a lot of really good fics recently like Wings and his Wingman by @bruhman745 and it’s making me want to write about Grian and Mumbo. So that being said, here are some quick headcannons for Grian, Mumbo and Scar I picked up from W&W as well as a few others.

Minor context note: the way I interperet deaths in minecraft is every death results in a scar, (this is why Scar has so many- well, scars.) or some kind of handicap relating to how someone dies. But if you survive a major injury, there are some things healing pots wont fix. Like if you get a limb cut off, a healing pot wont fix that.

Grian: Somewhat clumsy and mischievous. The type to probably hide injuries or overestimate his abilities. Can imagine many circumstances where he might get an injury on a trip and think not much of it, only to realize later, yeah, he probably should get that checked out. Generally fleet of foot and balanced but has a tendency to space out and forget where he is/ what he’s doing and this often leads to deaths or at least serious injuries. This is where most of his scars come from. However he is generally much more aware of himself when in the air, and even after spacing out he can usually avoid anything in his path, due to incredible reflexes. A direct contrast to mumbo.

Hybrid Headcannon: Avian. Species of bird and overall design varries depending on the season. For season 9 I imagine him being a rough-legged hawk, with more brownish feathers. I think it fits the geologist vibe I gave him too. I can imagine him flying over lots of terrain scanning the ground for caves and stuff.

Mumbo: Very focused, extremely curious and easily flustered. If he’s determined to do something he will do it. No matter what. Tends to lead to problems when 2 things he’s interested in overlap. If he has to choose between doing 2 things he really wants to do, he usually gets stuck and thinks about it way to hard, unless someone else is there to guide him. The idea of him being focused also applies to him when on foot. Despite his long limps he rarely trips or falls, and even when he does loose his footing he can normally avoid injury. This is not the case when flying however, as when he makes a mistake or spaces out he tends to fumble. Also very easily flustered, generally oblivious to risqué jokes unless incredibly obvious. Hybrid Headcannon: Moth. Specific wing design is red with a mustache design. This is taken from @p1neapplerum . Been playing with some ideas of making him a different species, like an atlas moth, but tbh I’d probably just stick to him being an owl moth with this cool design, if the creator’s alright with other ppl using it. (Cmon its just really neat)

Scar: Also very mischievous, but also very opportunistic. A business man at heart, usually tries to find a way to exploit things for money if there is the opportunity, but also very caring and empathetic even if he doesn’t act like it. Entire personality summed up with the 😏 emoji, will make a nsfw joke or innuendo whenever possible. Rarely uses his wings as he doesn’t much find the need too, and much prefers going on foot. He’s already quite clumsy on the ground, he doesn’t need to add more risk by being in the air. Phantom wings are also very frayed and tattered, (mainly bc he tried to sell phantom membrane by farming it from his wings, then using a healing pot to grow them back. Turns out, haling pots can only do so much.) so they’re difficult to control in the air. Adding to reasons to stay on the ground.

Hybrid Headcannon: Phantom. As previously stated, Scar is a phantom. Not a ghost phantom, the weird dragon fuckers that spawn if you dont sleep. I got the idea because the design of the mechanical tail i see some people use for him reminded me a lot of the tail of this one redesign of a phantom Neytirix made.

Aaaand that should be it. I don’t know enough about the other hermits in order to start making headcannons, but I plan to watch more of them with this upcoming season, so that should be fun :]]
