! looks like the grooming parlor's shopkeeper is now supposed to be gray as well, but the image (which also has "tvw" in the url like the last one) hasn't actually... been uploaded to the neopets servers yet, apparently. i ran into this one completely organically unlike the previous one so that was cool. i wonder if it being the clothing shopkeeper and then the grooming shopkeeper is a coincidence or a theme...? also, elia turned gray 3 days ago and this is the first one since, so we might be getting a new gray shopkeeper every 3 days if this keeps up.

it's still broken onsite but i found the art by changing the image url's png extension to gif.

hey are you still planning on updating the villains win or is that project on hold? (not meaning to pressure you, just asking) either way i love the story so far and all the art !

it's on hold for now! mostly just bc i've got too much other stuff on my plate rn and i can't fit it in. thank you, i love tvw so i hope i can come back to it before too long!

I also was in and out on Virgin River and Record of Grancrest War.  (Someone else was watching them while I occasionally watched but was focused on other things.)  (FWIW, I really don’t understand the appeal of Virgin River but that’s mostly because I don’t think Jack is a catch.)

Notable but the only one of those I watched alone was the Holiday Bakes.  I watched all the other shows with my cousin (same cousin) and GBBO was the only one we intentionally started watching together.  She started Sword Art and Queen’s Gambit and I joined in. I started Ted Lasso and I background watched Dolly until we both got sucked into watching it for realz.

If this was a few years ago I would have probably written up the last three on that list.  (Heck, I would’ve also written up the other two because I wrote about everything.)

Florence is dressed in a mix of masculine and feminine fashion for the music video of the new @florenceandthemachine single Free.

She's wearing a custom-made @thevampireswife dark orange silk Persimmon 12ft Susie dress, as pictured in the TVW atelier. 

A similar design (but in black) was presented in the 12 Foot Susie's art installation at @harrods, back in November 2021.

As well as a 10ft floral version at @doverstreetmarketlosangeles in 2019. It has a Peter Pan collar, a cape-like overlay, button-up bodice, self-fastening waist tie and an uncountable amount of tiers at the skirt.

It's styled with a @elenadawson.uk Pluto long dark grey wool tweed coat with cotton lining...

... and @atelierbaba suede thigh-high boots.

tvw watches the ESC SF1 2017

It was kind of boring. The contest becomes increasingly homogenized every year.

And in usual ESC WTF-ery, the song I most wanted to move on to the Grand Final didn’t make it and the song I least wanted to make it did.

Thoughts on songs after the cut.

THE HOSTS All guys. Varying degrees of English proficiency. I have to keep reminding myself that we were very spoiled with Petra Mede (aka “the only reason I ever want Sweden to win”).

1. SWEDEN How did this make it out of Melodifestivalen? It has very “self-conscious” staging.

2. GEORGIA Ballad. Fire!

3. AUSTRALIA Like a late 80s easy listening song...but sung by a 17 year old.

4. ALBANIA It’s the wrong dress. I’m too distracted by the dress. She needs something ripply with wind machines.

5. BELGIUM Crowd is actually into this from the start with the clapping. Simple staging of nothing. I like this song but it really doesn’t feel right for a live performance competition like the ESC.

6. MONTENEGRO At least he came to party.

7. FINLAND Right atmosphere for this song. I’d be more impressed if I didn’t know that the instruments are mimed.

8. AZERBAIJAN Staged for TV...but in the end it all feels pointless. Horse head? Chalkboard? Okay?

9. PORTUGAL Like something from an old art house movie. LOL, no wonder he was carrying that Woody Allen book. Of course, that just makes me think less of him. He certainly has a style and it’s kind of cute though.

10. GREECE She’s out of tune! I hate this!

11. POLAND Cute dogs in the postcard. She didn’t sing yet and already I love Polish Luna Lovegood.

12. MOLDOVA Came to party...in suits... WITH EPIC SAX MAN!

13. ICELAND Hmm, lights are synced to the beats of the song and the background graphics actually make sense. But the song is boring.

14. CZECH REPUBLIC Is that bronze lamé? I kind of like the chorus but don’t care for the rest of the song.

15. CYPRUS I’m bored by the song but the guy is kind of cute. Like the gays will totally vote for him.

16. ARMENIA It’s interesting. I wasn’t bored.

17. SLOVENIA Dude’s wearing a sequin suit? This sounds incredibly dated -- like the cheesy original song you sing after you win a singing competition. LOL.

18. LATVIA They’re eating donuts! Now I want a donut! Jeez, this is weird. What’s the point of dressing like a Genki girl if you’re not gonna be more intense? The song needs a stronger-sounding beat. It needs intensity... though that probably wouldn’t save it.

LIKE The only countries I care about making the final.

THE BIG 5 Spain ... looks lame. I actually do like the UK and Italy though. I think I might like them more than Portugal, in fact.

JAMALA It’s still weird to me that a song about the deportation of Tatars from the Crimean peninsula was even entered in this contest, let alone won it.
