Mission: Best Vegan Protein. Ch 1
Status: not completed
I've been attending dance and pilates classes since September, and I've realized I do need to increase protein intake and buy protein bars especially for days when dance classes end late and I need to eat something after the class.
I am not a fan of protein products. I am not a hater but I always choose a regular option between protein or non-protein anything 😅 I do not like the taste and texture. So, my goal is to find a decent company which produces edible protein products (oO I am curious how many times I will use the word "protein" here).
My first attempt is MYVEGAN. I ordered the medium box, which contains several products: cookies, bars, crisps, and three types of small packages of protein powders for smoothies.
Tumblr media
I can' t say much about the quantity of protein or sugar per a cookie or a bar, as I have no idea which is excellent or not, but the taste was ok. Some products are medium, nothing special, e.g., those crisps. The texture is a bit weird but overall it's fine, in particular as my expectations for anything protein are quite low xD.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But this cookie is fantastic! It's very chocolaty, and the combo with salted caramel is 10/10!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This beverage... oh man I can neither describe the taste nor finish it. I don't like to throw products but I have no choice here. It's not my cup of tea.
Tumblr media
Protein powders for smoothies are ok. I am rather satisfied with the flavour and quality.
Overall, this company is fine. It's not perfect. I want to try other companies as well to understand how good or bad MYVEGAN is. I've already ordered vegan protein products from another company. When it arrives, I will make a review of those products too.
If you can recommend or want me to try another brand, leave your comment, and of course preferably, if it can be delivered to Europe.
Thanks!

Blogmas: Viral LUSH Snow Fairy
Hi guys,
If you have been a fan of LUSH for a long time you will know how iconic their Snow Fairy collection is. Originally it was a bath bomb that turned into bath washes and last year it reached their cosmetics range with more lip products.
One of my favourite products from this range is the LUSH Snow Fairy Lip Jelly £9.00. I usually can't wear lip balms because my lips react however this natural organic formula I can wear all day without any issues. Unlike a traditional lip balm this is a lip jelly which is (in my opinion) more hydrating and nourishing on your lips. I adore this products and last year I bought one and then it sold out everywhere I couldn't find it anywhere so when they relaunched this product again in their Christmas collection I have to repurchase.
I decided to get 3 this time because they last ages and feel so amazing on my lips. The only thing I strongly dislike about Christmas collections is sometimes brands bring out their best products and then you can't find them for a year. Honestly it drives me crazy but it's a good excuse to buy in bulk when I see these products in store.
So if you need a bubble gum scented lip jelly in your life I highly highly recommend grabbing this while you can because when it's gone it's gone. As always all products mentioned in my blog post are linked above.
Lots of love,

I've tried vegan cheese now
it vaguely resembles cheese
but that's about all it has going for it though, in no other way is it like the real deal at all
did the inventor never even actually touch real cheese before making this INSULT of a substitute????
CHEESE RATING:
.25 appearance
0 taste
0 texture
0 smell
0 melt
for a total score of .25/5
even the overprocessed american cheese singles get a higher score than that tbh, at least they make an ATTEMPT at taste and texture, and they melt pretty damn good

Okay vegan yogurt review
This is the dairy free Yoplait oui in the mango flavor
You can definitely taste the coconut but I think it works with the mango
The yogurt also has an almost gel like texture
I'm gonna give this yogurt a 2.5/5 authenticity rating
As for the taste? Mango, coconut- a good combination if you ask me
7.5/10

Goodal Vita-C Dark Spot Care Sun Serum & Vegan Rice Milk Cream Review
Tumblr media
Even if you have not tried Goodal before, chances are you’re no stranger to their renowned Green Tangerine Vitamin C Serum. It has been a steady best-seller in Korea for quite some time.
However, this is not what I’m reviewing today, but two other products from the brand: the Goodal Vita-C Dark Spot Care Sun Serum SPF50+ PA++++ and the Vegan Rice Milk Moisturizing Cream.
Check out my impressions on my latest blog post: https://kbeautynotes.com/goodal-vita-c-dark-spot-care-sun-serum-review/
Have you tried any products from Goodal? Did you like them?

Hey guys,
A few blog posts ago I let you in to one of my favourite beauty bargain secrets, that’s right we’re talking about the £10 Tuesday at Boots. If you didn’t see the previous post on a Tuesday Boots take an assortment of beauty products and reduce them to £10 for 24 hours. It can be anything from make up, hair , beauty , lifestyle and so much more. So today we are chatting about my recent beauty bargain finds.
Starting off with the KVD Beauty Go Big or Go Home Volumizing Mascara , £22.00. Previously I bought a KVD gift set and it came with a mini version of this mascara and I honestly adored it. The fluffy brush is amazing at grabbing every lash and giving it a beautiful volumised finish. The formula is vegan and powered by plant-based fats. This mascara looks effortlessly on my lashes and is so long wearing that if you have a issue with transferring mascara this is your new best friend.
The second product I picked up was the MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ 100ml, £26.00. Now I honestly can’t remember but I think I bought this spray before but didn’t like it because I wasn’t using it properly which was a me problem so when I saw it on promotion I had to try it again. This spray is a lightweight mist of water packed with vitamins and minerals, infused with a blend of green tea, chamomile and cucumber to gently soothe and refresh the skin. Spritz under or over makeup to revitalize skin throughout the day and keeps your makeup looking fresh for up to 12 hours. I’m excited to give this a try again and see what difference it makes to my complexion.
As always all products mentioned in my blog post are linked above!
Lots of love

purple carrot premade meals, reviewed - part 2!
meal #6:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
best meal so far! the plantains were tangy and full of flavor, the corn and rice was rich and creamy. finally, we're starting to see some interesting recipes.
meal #7:
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
this is only half a portion bc i gave the other half to my lovely bride-to-be. look at how little rice they gave! even if i had kept all the rice for myself it would still be paltry.
the spices are fragrant and give the meal such a lovely aroma. tofu is a bit rubbery, but not too bad. the sauce is the star; it just needs a bit of salt and it would be perfect.
meal #8:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i'm noticing a theme w/ a lot of these meals where they don't even try to make the tray look full. for the amount these meals cost, it's not a good look.
the sausage is flavorful if a bit dry, and the beans and rice are well spiced with a nicely al dente texture. like the pasta from last week, this dish is hard to fuck up.
meal #9:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
another really good one! and this one actually has accurate prep directions, lol. the farro is bouncy and chewy with a great flavor, the chickpea salad is sweet and perfectly seasoned. both sides pair very well together, too.
meal #10:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this one almost looked like it had 2 different sides to it, but it felt like it was supposed to be stirred (the instructions do say that, but who reads) so stir it i did.
buffalo sauce is always very tangy and a bit spicy, and this was no exception. the cheesy sauce isn't the really thick and creamy kind, but it's nice as a lighter alternative. definitely a very tasty and comforting meal, if lacking in vegetables.
🥕🥕🥕
so overall, here's my verdict on purple carrot prepared meals: some of the offerings are better than your average frozen meal, but most are about the same.
if you want to try out some new vegan meals, and you can't/don't want to cook them yourself, you're probably better off trying a frozen meal brand like tattooed chef - especially considering the usual exorbitant price of purple carrot (13.00 per prepared meal), which is about as expensive as eating out every day. with the hefty discount that i got (4.66 per prepared meal), the pricing is comparable to a somewhat high-end assortment of frozen meals.
the meals are also a bit low in calories, protein and volume, so the average person would probably need to supplement with snacks and side dishes to feel satisfied.
the menu seems to consist of different variations/combinations of the same elements - i took a look at some other meals i could have received, and there was a lot of "meal #1 but with the sauce/topping from meal #2." if you ordered every week, you'd probably want to customize and make sure you get your favorites. i avoided everything with capers, lol.
i did get some extra store credit due to a delivery mishap, so i ordered some of the cook-it-yourself meals as well. they'll be reviewed in part 3. see you then!

I just finished reading Tender Is the Flesh. I bought it expecting it to be a satire on capitalism or some failed vegan guilt-trip thing and it's an okay book and I was just going to take a quick look at other people's reviews, just for funsies and they are just so funny because it got completely over a lot of people's heads?
Follow me. It's a book about a dystopic what if scenario where a (maybe government/big company caused) virus made animals improper for consumption but people liked meat too much and started to eat people. This is not a spoiler, this is the synopsis.
And all the reviews are like "this book is bad because its too gross" and I mean, you knew the dudes would be out there killing and eating people, you thought it would be sanitized (it kinda is tho, they develop a super industrial process to do it. It is as sanitize as the regular meat industry is)? "The protagonist and other characters are bad! I can't connect with them or their morals! They are not revolutionary and try to fight against the system and find out about the big conspiracy!" Again, it's about a society that collectively decided the minor inconvenience of the cannibalism taboo is not as important as the pleasure of eating meat (there is not even a good reason, everything else is good to eat normally, they just missed meat), what kind of people did you expect to thrive in this story? It's not that deep.
