Perfectionism is hell. Eveytime my sentences isnt the perfect line ever written my brain thinks i is the foulest thing on the earth. It only worsens when I see good writing by a writer who is probably thinking the same thing about their writing.

Write a silly fanfiction, I told myself.
It'll be so silly, I said...
Me, after the scene I just finished writing:

Currently in a big old writers block slump. Literally trying to write dieter smut and it’s just:
Dieter: does the sex thing with his mouth
Reader: yes Dee like that! [other words maybe?]
Dieter: continues with the sex thing, *witty remark*.
Me: Ok brain, make that into coherent, sexy smut.
Brain:

Woah it’s so much harder to write friends-to-almost-lovers-to-enemies-to-allies-to-friends-to-lovers than I expected!
(I expected this and I’m still struggling)

You're such a good writer, but you have so many typos. It kinda brings down the quality.
Hi! Great eye!
Just so you know, there's so many writers out there who do several drafts, have beta readers, or just type slowly and accurately enough that that isn't an issue. I, on the other hand, type very quickly, have no patience, and frankly, despise proofreading.
Should I write something that's ready for publishing, I'll be sure to go the extra mile with a second draft and something better than a quick skim. But. As it stands, this blog is for fun, venting anxiety, and exploring characters; none of which rely on grammatical excellence.
If you want perfection, I'm simply not the right person to read. I wish you the best in finding an artist who suits your needs.

Beginner author here, I need some advice and help. My main character has chronic pain in his hands, specifically his right hand, but I don’t have chronic pain and I’m not sure how to write it.
What does chronic pain feel like? (Is there any day-to-day equivalent? Does it make him nauseous?)
Does it impact how you move? (Would he be unable to use a pencil correctly or unable to pick it up?)
What do flare ups look like? (Would his hands be shaking? Does he get pale?)

I’m a writer and love creating worlds with it. But I support anything that is some form of creation

Me, rereading all of my old fanfics: Damn, this bitch knows exactly what I like! I wonder if they’re still writing.

I need to stop being so strict on myself with my writing. I should let myself post writing that I haven’t proofread. Because writing is supposed to be fun, not something that needs to be perfect all the time. I just wish it was something my mind automatically reminded itself.
