New Episodes Next Week!!

The 2015 Season of Addictive Fishing Television starts next week! Tune into Fox SunSports on Friday, April 3rd for all new episodes of your favorite rod bendin' drag screamin' television. We kick off the season with "Bulls on the Neuse" - a big bull redfish episode from Pamlico Sound off of Oriental, NC. One of the coolest fisheries I've been lucky enough to fish! 

I just got back from fishing Islamorada for two more episodes. Can't beat fishing in the Keys. You've got everything that swims, right there ready for ya. A special thanks to the folks at Star Brite! They provided us some pretty swanky accommodations, spoiling the crew for sure. 

The reason we headed back so quickly from the Keys is I've got to get over to Tampa to the Westshore Mall Dick's Sporting Goods on Saturday (the 28th). We're wrapping up a killer week of Spring Sales at one of my favorite stores in Florida. The Westshore Dick's store is a 2 story, gorgeous store with lots of everything you'd ever need to fish, camp, kayak, hunt, or play sports. Looking forward to seeing y'all on Saturday . . . I'll be there from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Here's what's been going on back at the MPI studios . . . Mr. Producerman and Trice have been building a new set for us. We've got plans to bring y'all some more videos, online tips and some killer music from the Mogan Music Boys this season. Stay tuned for all the cool new stuff. By the way, that boom box ya see is actually my new favorite from Engel. It's a cooler and boom box in one. The sound that comes out of that thing is incredible! It's got top-of-the-line JL Audio® MX650 speakers and is Bluetooth compatible. So, I just turn the Engel on, crank up some ACDC or the Jawga Boyz and get rockin'! Check it out.

Springtime in Springhill!

Spend Friday afternoon with me at Dick's Sporting Goods!  I'll be at the opening of the newest store in Florida tomorrow from 2 p.m. - 7 p.m. They're calling this one the Springhill store, but it's actually in Brooksville (Cortez Commons 12936 Cortez Blvd, Brooksville, FL 34613). Stop by and save big!! 

Mr. Producerman, Trice, my wife Cari and the newest team member, my new Producer, Sam will be there too! Great way to kick off the weekend y'all . . . stock up on fishing tackle then spend the rest of the time on the water catching fish. 

Next week, we're back on the water shooting episodes. Looks like a long run for me and the crew. Shooting over in my backyard next week, then straight down to the Keys the following week. I'll be stopping in at a couple of Dick's stores along the way, so stay tuned on FB to see where I'll be next.

Spring is Around the Corner!!

Spring is so close I can smell it! I know the rest of the country is still shoveling snow, but down here in Florida it's already in the 80's, I'm barefoot again, and the fish are biting. Been shooting shows, spending time at Skeeter Boat dealers and opening new Dick's Sporting Goods stores. I spent last weekend in Inverness, Florida at Apopka Marine for their big Spring event and met a lot of cool folks. They even gave away a Yamaha engine. It was a fun time.  

Congrats to Joel Holweger from North Dakota, he won the VMAX Yamaha 150!!! 

I left Inverness and headed to Homosassa to shoot an episode of Addictive Fishing with my old friend, Capt. Billy Henderson. Capt. Billy called me up and said to get up there, the big gator trout were biting. He didn't have to tell me twice! Loaded the boats, the gear and the crew and took off. We got the show shot in one day! Capt. Billy and me were catching 4 and 5 pounders all day on Mirrodines. What an awesome day. Can't wait for that episode to air. 

And, speaking of episodes airing . . . we're getting close to our 16th AF season opener on Sun Sports. Got a killer big bull reds show from Pamlico Sound in North Carolina, and a grouper show from Homosassa to kick things off for ya. Let me tell y'all too, the music in these shows is off the hook! I'll keep you posted so you can set your DVR's and get ready for another season of rod bendin' drag screamin' television!

Seems like I'm spending a lot of time on the West side of the state on the Nature Coast - Homosassa, Inverness and now I'll be heading to Spring Hill. Next weekend on Friday the 13th, I'll be celebrating the opening of a new Dick's Sporting Goods store from 2 p.m. - 7 p.m. Come in a see me! Stock up on the great deals, get your tackle boxes back together for some Spring fishing.   I think it's time for this truck to get an oil change and tires rotated, hitting the road full time now! On To The Next Stop

My time in Miami last week was a blast. Couldn't have had a better time, ate really good every night back at the Skeeter Bunk House, and sold some Skeeter boats. Loved getting to see all the new faces, fans and ran into a lot of good 'ol friends too. Saturday and Sunday were our busiest days and I hope everyone who stopped by got registered to win all those killer prizes?! I'll have the list of winners to share with y'all soon. Skeeter's taking care of notifying the winners this week, and I don't know about you, but I like to know who wins these things . . . 'cause it sure ain't me. Can't tell you how many drawings I've entered in my lifetime and it seems my name is never pulled. Doh!

We've actually known Sam since he was 19 and still in college. He interned for McCabe Productions back when they were producing the FLW Redfish Series and Kingfish Tour. That's back in the day when I was shooting shows and fishing both tournament circuits too. Phew! We've all come a long way and it's great having Sam back on the team, full time! Staying Cooler

The weather's still chilly in Florida, went fishing last week and the Pompano were just not biting, I'm tired of wearing shoes, and I'm ready for the thermometer to heat back up again.  The good news is when the Florida heat and humidity do return, I'm all set with keeping things cool on my boat. 

Engel sent us a pretty nice gift last month to kick the year off right . . . I think they've got us covered for every size and function that I can possibly think of. That nice big grey box up front is an fridge freezer powered by a cigarette lighter plug. That's what I'm most excited about! I can take it with me on long road trips, when I go hunting, store fish and game, and it's portable. The next cooler in the Engel line up that makes me happy is the BoomBox. That thing is actually the best stereo I think I've ever owned! It's got a JL Audio system in it and functions as a small cooler to keep a few beers (or your beverage of choice) cold while you crank up the tunes and tap your toes. It connects to the Bluetooth function on your phone and puts out killer crisp sound. I've always been impressed with Engel coolers, but now I'm simply blown away. You should check 'em out!

Happy Fishing New Year!!

Last Minute AF Christmas Shopping Guide

Got Skeeters? I see all the Christmas car commercials where Santa brings someone a brand new Lexus, Mercedes, or luxury vehicle . . . what about a boat Santa? How about dropping off one of these new beauties off to some lucky fisherman who's been good all year? C'mon Fat Man! Seriously though, if you're looking for a new boat in the New Year, check out Skeeter's saltwater series. You won't find a better made boat, rigged with the number one engine on the market, Yamaha. I've got some more gift ideas for you that would look mighty nice on that Skeeter:  

How about a nice cold Engel cooler to keep your drinks and fish cold when winter's done and you're back on the water in the hot days of summer. I use my Engel for just about everything, keeping things inside is just part of it. It makes a great casting platform and can even come with a cushion to provide extra seating.  That Minn Kota trolling motor is one of my favorite accessories and essential tools I use on the boat. It gets me into skinny water, quietly and quickly. Turn off that big motor in the back, quick release the Minn Kota on the front and I'm a fishing machine. 

To really set the Skeeter rig over the top, I always have an Atlas jack plate installed with my Yamaha engine. The Atlas is smooth, sturdy and the perfect way to lift that big motor up to get into shallow water when necessary. I always run with a Talon shallow water anchor on back too. Use it all the time to "Talon down" and stay put. It's great when fishing the flats and sitting on a school. Quiet, strong, always finding the bottom and just a touch of a button. My Humminbird 360 gives me such an advantage. The 3D images all around my boat let me check out structure, pot holes, oyster beds and find the fish.
