Spoilers for S2 Dragons Rising

This season was so good!! I love Cinder’s voice so much!! Kai has officially adopted Wyldfire, is it bad that I love his familial dynamic with Wyldfire more than whatever the writers were trying to do to push Kailor into a romantic relationship? I find it funny out of all the two canon relationships that are mentioned in dragons rising. Kai never mentions Skylor, his supposed love interest. Kailor fans might come for me for saying this but I was never a fan of their relationship, the writing for them was never strong. So I was happy that we moved Kai’s focus back onto being a more mature protective brother and father figure, and of course protector of Ninjago.

Also the flashback with him and Nya. I loved that their bond and the harmony between them allowed them to achieve dragon rising together. Also Egalt and Wyldfire bonding was so cuteee, she truly is the best when it comes to connecting with dragons.

Also poor Lloyd and Arin, as a Lloyd kinnie, it hurts to see the green bean struggling with visions and anxiety (coming from an anxious person, I felt seen when it came to the show depicting panic attacks). Lloyd is so focused on doing everything to become the next Wu, that he forgets that his uncle would want Lloyd to forge his own path.

Garmadon got mentioned, I hope he makes an appearance in season 3.

The Jaya angst, Nya saying Jay would never forget but it’s so ironic cause Jay has amnesia from a traumatic injury involving the merge. I hope she gives him some grace when they eventually meet up.

Can I say I love Bonzle and the witch lady? Wholesome as a cake, I love her bond with Cole and Geo.

Zane and Cole back together again, while the founders are his newest found family, he doesn’t forget his original found family.

His hug with Lloyd was so cute tho. ❤️

Cole and Geo are adorable, also is it me or were there more hints to Cole being fruity. Geo looking at Cole’s picture, the hand holding. I think I even saw an aro ace flag as well. And of course the rainbow cole was holding.

Also not going to lie I was upset that we didn’t get a reaction from Cole about Kai being locked away for possibly a whole millenniu. I understand that Cole was grieving Bonzle but nothing, no reaction about Kai. His best friend, partner in crime, his other half, first friend he made when he became a ninja, nothing nada, zilch. No reaction, my lava heart was hurting right there asdadfsxfdadhhh.

Lava either you depict it to be more than friends or not, they have the sweetest bond, and it was hard to believe it had writers couldn’t write in a reaction to Cole having a mini breakdown about Kai being gone.

Hopefully we will get more moments between those two soon, I give this season a 9/10 also who choreographed the fight scenes they haven’t been this fire since early ninjago.

It's kinda funny, the Spy x Family manga/anime tries to convince us that Anya isn't smart. BUT if you placed her in a normal school she would probably do great.

We already assumed that Anya isn't 6 years old and is fact possibly 4-5. That means she's already trying to learn things she wasn't meant to learn yet.

Eden College is also been shown to be teaching student advance subjects despite their age. I wouldn't be surprising if all these kids had teams of private tutors before they ever took the exam.

I'm not even sure if Anya had any actually schooling before Loid adopted her.

But Anya, at the very least, is passing.

I'm not saying she a genius, ... lol, no.

But considering she's a 4-5 year old, pretending to 6, she not doing half bad.

I’m concerned about the use of animal bones, human fat and other uses of bodily parts in these sculptures reading Sun’s reply in the article I quote, “I am concerned with whether the viewer is able to break their existing moral boundaries when looking at our work. What is the function of morality? In society perhaps it allows people not to over-analyze the consequences of their actions, not to be over-burdened by responsibilities.”

I’m questioning their mental health right now, there is no way that they are the one’s questioning the majority of society, who are wondering about the unethical practices of their sculptures. Using human flesh gathered from Plastic Surgery? Where are they getting the animal bones from?

Controversial artist Sun Yuan and Peng Yu create a hyper-realistic sculpture of a fallen angel. The piece shows an old woman who has fallen from grace. She also has feather-less wings on her back

The artists created the piece using silica gel, fiberglass, stainless steel and woven mesh which is pretty tame for the them. Sun and Peng have been known to use baby cadavers and human fat in a lot of their art. This peice is featured in Beijing

You can talk about how much you enjoyed the film without bashing the show and you can talk about how much you love the show without bashing the films.

Of course, everyone has the right to voice their opinions and express that they disliked this or that.

But you look hella stupid when you're making ignorant takes and saying stuff like "omg astruc's writing is so shit lollllll love the film" or "the film gives us what WE want unlike the show lollll"

Both are different with their own sets of restrictions and budgets and having different creative teams and direction. The show is still ongoing and has not finished whilst the film can only rely on becoming a hit so that they can continue and flesh out the story in sequels.

This is my last aggretsuko post. Season 5 of aggretsuko was surprisingly better than season 4 but not as phenomenal as season 1. I felt like season 5 was haida’s redemption arc from season 4. I didn’t like how little we saw the other characters like Gori, Washami, Fenneko, Puko, etc. it was good to see growth from Tsunbone and Ton. Especially with Ton being actually nice to retsuko and Haida, and giving them once again great advice. He actually was trying to engage in civil conversation with the rest of his subordinates for once.

The season got real with about the problem with homelessness, apathy and a loss of direction or goals for the future. Especially, with the younger generation trying to navigate society. The voting issues of the newer generation being suppressed by the older generation, and having to deal with the brunt of the problems that older generation are leaving behind. It didn’t really like the political arc but again it makes spart of sense. Retsuko literally sung a song about Capitalism being an “endless rat race”. Her whole brand is about being a young woman being pushed around by society. I liked the message from the creators this time around. I just wished the execution was better.

Finally I’ll talk about the elephant in the room. Haida and Retsuko’s relationship. It was domestic, had cute moments but could have shown a least a little more intimacy. I was kind of upset that during the montage it quickly skimmed over Haida and Retsuko getting married. While it is in character for these characters to be impulsive and elope at a registry. It would have been satisfying to see a wedding and for their colleagues and friends who were trying for the past 4 seasons to get these characters together get some closure. Aggretsuko wasn’t perfect but I enjoyed the show nonetheless. I just wished things had better execution. I give this show a 6.5/10. Maybe 5 years in the future I’ll rewatch this series and the mini webisodes again.

Obey me Nightbringers is going to rock the fandom when it finally drops later this year. We are finally getting in depth lore and the darker elements that the main game has been lacking since season 2. I’m hoping we get to see the demons acting like demons. Also Diavolo… absolute chills seeing him the first time with his rad uniform and then his demon form. He feels like an antagonist. He feels like the omnipotent ruler of the devildom.

Spoilers for Season 3 Finale

Wow that finale was very conclusive almost. I wish we got more run time. 11 minutes for each part to condense so much information and development. It felt a bit rushed, I wish the producers got more run time. The episodes could have needed a full 30 minutes to have enough exposition.

There are still answers that need an explanation,is the Spider Queen and her henchmen okay? Tang, Sandy and Pigsy are they truly descendants or reincarnations of the old Jttw gang? Their powers? What happened to the old jjtw gang? Why did Sun Wukong become so cold? What happened between him and macaque? There are plenty of questions that still need to be answered.

Despite pacing issues, I still adored this finale I got excited, cried and almost threw up. I know people are questing why MK put back on his old jacket since it represented him moving on from his idealistic view of monkey king. Well his new one did get burned, and I’m sure he will get a new one in season 4. ( yes season 4 is confirmed for 2023, however this might be the last season since directors at lego said they are continuing the lmk line until 2023). MK has definitely grown since season 1, he’s more focused less scatterbrained, and definitely strategizes a little more. I think his mindset on Wukong has shifted for sure. He still adores him but he also isn’t what the legends depict him as. Wukong can be selfish, cold and dismissive at times. He doesn’t seem to have a clear understanding of the troubles that mortals go through. However he’ll fight for humanity and sees the potential they have for change.it was heartwarming to see the apology between MK and Wukong with Wukong apologizing for not being the best mentor. I know the fandom classifies him as being one of his dads but I always thought of Wukong as an older brother for MK. Big brothers can also teach their younger siblings the important lessons in life. So does Macaque he also gives off Big brother energy. I think I wrote enough so I’ll post a part 2 later of my thoughts later..

Miraculous Season 4 overall review,

Man this season was turbulent. To say this season was better than season 3 is subjective. Some people enjoyed it better than Season 3 others didn’t it. To me I give this season 6/10. There was some great ideas but the payoff was not successful.

The alternative relationships with Kagami and Luka were just a waste of time and useless. I do like Luka as a character however I think all of his character development or screen time should have been given to Adrien.

The finale was the only saving grace for me when it comes to season 4. Strike back and Risk had some of the best animation (Glory be to Samg, I am sad that they will not be animating season 5… rip quality control) and the storyline was interesting.

Adrien, my poor sweet boy has been through emotional pain. First Ladybug treats him so unfairly and refuses to elaborate why she doesn’t need him on certain missions, then his best friend Nino calls his persona a playboy in Rocket tear so he can barely confide in him any more and lastly his cousin jeopardizes his image and his father doesn’t give him any agency over his life. ( I hope he goes feral next season)

Marinette sympathized with her in the beginning and had a big I told you so at the end. Her handing out the miraculouses to her schoolmates like candy was always going to bite her in the butt especially since hawkmoth knows their identities plus her obsession with Adrien put the nail in the coffin of her losing. The writers have to do better not only just with her behavior but her treatment towards Cat Noir. Cat Noir doesn’t need to be a better partner she does. And Cat Noir should not easily forgive Ladybug over her actions and hold her accountable. Now it’s her turn to prove that she was a reliable partner.

Here’s to hoping season 5 will be better. I could go on a rant about my other grievances with this season but it will turn into a long essay.

I just watched season 4 of Aggretsuko. And it’s not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. In fact it was a step up from the last season.

I’ve been seeing so much Haida slander and not enough people acknowledging that Retsuko wasn’t in the right either when it came to their relationship. They both kept blowing each other off when it came to their work or side hustles. Haida and Retsuko need better communication in order for their relationship to blossom.

It’s also in speculation if Haida has ruined any chance he has with Retsuko. However the ending scene of him and Retsy implied that they were still in the stage of seeing if they are compatible. While I’m not the most avid shopper for these two, I hope the show tries to give the relationship better development in season 5.

This wasn’t Haida’s strongest season however it did address a few flaws that the character had in previous seasons with his self worth issues and his possessiveness of Retsuko. It felt like the character was trying to improve and help his friend recover from the trauma she endured in season 3.

Some argue that the season had reset the show back to the way things were in season 2. The character progression is there with Haida leaving the company,Retsuko and Haida still (implied) seeing each other, Ton and Retsuko being on better terms and finally Retsuko slowly stepping away from self sabotaging.

Season 4 has some questionable decisions but the storyline was more cohesive than season 3. My two gripes was the unnecessary aggression against Tadano. I hope both guys can make up next season, their friendship was wholesome. And the old director who suddenly was cured of his ailment and getting his old position back. I felt like Washimi deserved to be the next director.

I give this season an 8/10, I hopefully season 5 can expound more on the cliffhanger that season 4 left us on.

Miraculous ladybug season 4 ep 17, wow just wow I am feeling really bad for Chat Noir. Despite those times where his and ladybug’s relationship is turbulent, they have an awesome partnership. The miscommunication between Ladybug and Chat Noir is going strong and will probably have a huge fallout in the season finale leading into season 5. Nino telling Adrien that he is Carapace and Alya is Rena Rogue was shocking. I understand he was upset but he shouldn’t have outed himself and her. Chat Noir is slowly getting more and more upset being out of the loop, not only that he learned two of the miraculous holders knows each other’s identities, yet he can’t know Ladybug’s?(talk about brutal)

Then Alya in a way betraying Marinette’s trust even though she wouldn’t tell Nino about her working as Rena Rouge but ends up doing so just because she couldn’t keep lying to him. Which is understandable but Marinette is already paranoid and doubting about giving Alya the miraculous full time. It doesn’t help Alya is eager to post on the ladyblog. Now I know Marinette was at her lowest when she told Alya her secret and it took a lot for her to confide in Alya like that. But in doing so she is hurting her partner that has been by her side for the longest.

The way things are going we might see the repercussions of Alya and Nino not keeping secrets and the lady out conflict. Let’s just hope for salvation and forgiveness

Conclusion:

This finale was way better than the season 1 finale. The animation and action was on point and the cliffhanger. Ugh this show is so so good. Slight character analysis I noticed how everyone was ready to dog on Wukong when MK was doing the same thing to his friends. I like how Pigsy was telling Wukong off but he didn’t address that MK was doing the same thing to do them like Macaque said. I felt like it would have been better for MK to call out Wukong then Pigsy, then Pigsy or Mei could have called out MK on it. Idk I hope this gets touched on in Season 3. Because MK’s behavior towards his friends can’t be ignored and his friends should hold him accountable when he does this because they deserve better. But anyway I hope we learn what happened to Macaque, did he end up meeting the same fate as Spider Queen and what about the Demon Bull King Family?? Hopefully we find out soon, next time on Monkie Kid.
