FORGIVE ME TUMBLR FOR I HAVE NOT POSTED. I've been very busy taking amazing photos like the one above (she said, modestly). This marks a huge step up in terms of my photography skills; I'm feeling dangerously like a professional.

Today in Things I Can Finally Talk About, I'm officially growing out my bangs.

What better opportunity for updated ~*glamour shots*~ and by that I of course mean photos I'll use to represent me professionally.

This is my favourite. My hair looks great. Two-toned lipstick is ON POINT. Brows look perf. Eyes couldn't be greener. AND! You can see the freckles on my nose, which almost never happens because they're so light.

All in all, feeling good about looking good. And slightly less nerve-wracked about changing my hair in a huge way.

It's been a minute since I've tumbld. I wish I could say this is because I've been off having ~*SEXY ADVENTURES*~ but actually it's because of Halloween.

But Alle, you're saying. Halloween isn't until the end of the month.

For you, maybe! I have seven articles to research, write, source, shoot, edit and file. Last year was awesome but an absolute last-minute shitshow, as I underestimated the amount of time it would take to come up with ideas, the length of time it would take to execute them, and the OVERWHELMING response. So this year I've been trying to be better about getting things done ahead of time where possible.

Buried at the base of all of this is the fear that I might not be able to be as awesome at Halloween as I was last year. I've been losing sleep over worrying whether I'll be able to live up to expectations. Because it's a possibility! I might never do anything as good as Mommie Dearest or Morticia Addams. But I'm not gonna let being afraid of jumping the shark stop me. This year I'm finding bigger sharks and jumping over THOSE.

This weekend I bought a very short miniskirt. I'm the queen of short skirts, so when I say that something is VERY short, it is indeed VERY VERY short.

Almost immediately afterwards, I saw an article listicle about "15 things women should stop doing after 30." One of them was "wearing miniskirts," because apparently nobody wants to see my gross thirty year old legs.

My opinions on this:

Fuck rules like that right in the ear. I am going to wear whatever I want for as long as I want, and nobody is ever going to tell me otherwise.

If people don't like how my APPARENTLY VERY ELDERLY legs look in a miniskirt, they are invited to look the other way or bugger off altogether.

Do what you want. Wear what you like. Be who you are. Ignore bullshit articles, lists and rules and listen to a lot more David Bowie.
