Let’s talk about self love for a moment.

Now I am absolutely the furthest thing from a self care or self love expert. Literally everyone I know can attest to the fact that I can’t take a compliment and I’ll basically just tell you to fuck off (especially if it’s a compliment about how I look). BUT I’m trying to learn and improve. I’ve started a small action plan journal for the year. Each day I’m going to write down some to-do goals, self improvements and reflections on the past day so I can actually work towards change and positive habits. I’m also going to try to post on here and Reddit atleast week about ways I’m trying to self reflect and start improving as an individual.

Fuck cheesy, but I want to start doing some shit this year. Like self development, actually make a change type shit. Last year I started into online sex work and actually started appreciating my body as it is. I learned about and embraced my partners personal kinks and quit giving a shit about what other people think of my body. (We all have variations of the same parts and why should I care if you don’t like what I looks like? We’re literally all made different and that’s the great thing!)

I also had a few meta realizations through some THC inspired thoughts. In the long run, who are you trying to impress and why? Were existing here to survive, find happiness and be decent. Why should my looks have anything to do with any of that? I mean I’m still not just gonna walk into target, full bed head and half smeared make up, but I no longer feel the need to try to impress people when I go out. Why should I give two shits about what they think about my looks? They’re in my life for what? Maybe one accidental cart passing interaction and that’s it forever? In 5 minutes they won’t even remember they saw me!

Depending on who you talk to, they’ll have a different version of “perfect”. That the fact. With humans, there honestly is no one “perfect” person! I don’t shave my bits or pits and while that may be my thing and that may be perfect to others, but it’s not everyone’s....and GUESS WHAT??? THATS PERFECTLY OKAY! Know why? Because it doesn’t have to be everyones thing! We don’t all have to be attracted to each other and we don’t exist solely to please others. Are you happy existing? Yes? Are you directly harming anyone? No? COOL! You do you my dude!

This year I quit shaving (it also saves money), honestly took better care of my hair and skin by wearing less make up (also saves money) and not using heat on my hair(less damage!). Yes, I’ve honestly looked better, but I’m currently still happy with me(although I do want to start working out again), my partner still loves me and I’m not harming anyone by existing naturally, so I don’t give two shits if anyone is offended by my existence or fuzzy bits☺️

One of my self changes I’ve made this year is not to judge people based on some preferences (again within limits) or looks. You wanna dress like a biker from SoA? Does that make you happy? Are you hurting anyone by dressing like that? No? COOL, you rock it man and good for you for having the confidence to wear that! Every time I see someone rocking something that took confidence to rock, I try to compliment them. I’ve done it at gas station, grocery stores, work, etc because being you takes balls in this works and honestly props to you!

Care about what others think of you as a decent human but be comfortable existing as you choose to exist! If people don’t like you for how you are (within limits - like bad or gross people don’t fall into this**) then fuck them and you find your happiness and be yourself!
