Slow down, it's ok. Very few things in life are absolute
Deadlines can be flexible, career paths are flexible, relationships become close and far and close again, it's all going to be ok

friends to lovers never had a bad track. “scared i’ll ruin what we have” SLAPS. “friendship cuddles while secretly dying inside” BANGER. “teasing each other and holding eye contact for a little too long” KILLS ME. and don’t even get me STARTED on “screaming i love you in the middle of a heated argument.”

the tearing of two worlds
maybe someday i will look at the moments i miss and think to myself, "that was nice," without feeling a disconnect.
like how the icy air cooled my nose and i shivered despite the layers of heat down to my toes.
i miss when i didn't sweat on december, but the tropical atmosphere has a tight grip and i can't shake it off no matter how hard i try.
maybe someday i'll stop feeling like the in-between. i'm not white but i'm not asian enough.
i miss when i forgot the color of my skin, when i was an ignorant elementary school student.
i miss when my friends didn't forget about me.
i miss when the moments i miss are easy to remember, now i only see colorful blurs like the splashes of shades are supposed to be familiar but all i sense is longing.
and i don't even know what i'm longing for.
so i'm left hoping that maybe someday i will stop missing my past.
and i will say, "that was nice," and i'll mean it.
—iris

Emily Henry, People We Meet on Vacation
[Text ID: This is, ultimately, a book about home. About finding it, about staying in it, about wrapping your arms tightly around it and breathing it in until it fills up your lungs. It’s about a world built for two, the magical Venn diagram formed by a special friendship: You, Me, and the sacred overlap called Us. /End ID]

How the fuck do I get better
For Beginners
You are not your feelings. Feelings are something you have, and something you can learn to cope with. Here are some tips how you can reduce negative, annoying or persistent feelings in your life, and how you can cope with them when they occur.
Making positive experiences
Do something enjoyable that’s possible every day (ex. read a few pages, doodle something, listen to your favorite song, sing in the shower…)
Change your life up a bit in a way that will help you experience positive feelings more often (ex. say hi to an old friend, join a club, try a new hobby, discover a new artist…)
Allow yourself to feel the positive things (ex. reminisce about the nice experiences you had before bed, focus on how good you feel in the moment, ask yourself how you’d name this positive feeling, what caused it…)
Reducing emotional and physical vulnerability
A house can’t stand without the base - Work on getting enough water, food, sleep, exercise and self care. Baby steps are completely fine. 5 hours of sleep are better than 4, two meals are better than one, etc.
Watch your health and take your medication
Avoid mood changing substances (drugs, alcohol…)
Take responsibility (ex. make small plans that you can and will do every day -> gives you a sense of control over your life and helps you believe in your own abilities)
Letting go of emotional baggage
Accept your feelings as a part of yourself as a person. We all have them!
Acknowledge that your feelings (all of them!) are allowed to be here, because they all have a job to fulfill!
Try not to judge your feelings, even if it’s hard! There’s a reason why they’re here.
Be open for your feelings. Embrace them. They will come anyway.
I have a feeling I don’t want - what now?
What am I feeling? (ex. angry, sad, guilty…)
What impulse does this feeling give me, what do I want to do? (ex. lash out, isolate myself, self harm…)
What made me feel this way? (ex. a fight, a bad grade, a mistake…)
What would be pros and cons of acting on my impulse? (ex. pro - lashing out would give me relief, con - it would have consequences…)
What decision do I make?
What skills or coping mechanisms do I need, if I need them?

Idk who needs to hear this, but this is your friendly reminder that toxic/abusive behavior does not have to be intentional
A person can have the best of intentions but still behave in ways that are actively harmful
A person can genuinely believe that they love you and still behave in ways that are actively harmful
And you do not need to accept it just because they mean well, especially if you've clearly communicated the harm to them and it hasn't made a difference

Why do we close our eyes when we pray, when we cry, when we kiss, when we dream; because the most beautiful things in our life are not seen but felt only by the heart.

Slow burn childhood-friends-to-lovers prompts?
1. As kids, Character A wins a stuffed giraffe for Character B at the fair, hoping to impress them. Years later, B reveals that they still have the giraffe.
2. Every year, A makes a heartfelt birthday post for B on social media. This year, A is hit by sadness that they’ve known B for so long, but they’ve only ever been friends.
3. A’s partner breaks up with them, and although B feels bad for A, they can’t help but feel a certain…relief.
4. A and B have always stayed over at each other’s houses, but recently it has been eating away at A that B is so close, yet so far.
5. A is moving away, and at the airport, they hug B goodbye. B finds themself in disbelief that they just watched the love of their life leave them, all because they were too afraid of ruining the friendship.
6. A’s partner cheats on them, and B is filled with rage that someone could betray A like this. They know they would treat A better, so why did that jerk get to have them?
7. People have always wondered why A and B aren’t a couple. A hates lying, and has been finding it harder and harder to claim B is “just a friend.”
8. A gets injured, and B helps them out with some tasks while they recover. Seeing A injured makes B yearn to comfort them, but they can only do it in the way of a friend.
9. As a child, A used to say they were going to marry B. They now tell everyone it was foolish “puppy love,” but deep down they know that love never left.
10. Another character teases A about one of their insecurities, while B is in the room. B knows that A doesn’t like to make a scene, but when A has to step out for a moment, B tells the other character to knock it off.
11. A has always called B by a nickname, but recently someone pointed out that the nickname sounds too…affectionate. “Well,” A says, “they don’t have to understand our friendship like we do.” Secretly, A likes getting to call B something no one else calls them.
12. One day, A is sad and talks about feeling unloved. B can hardly resist telling A just how much they love them.
13. A finds a video of them and B as kids, where B promises they’ll be “best friends forever.” A wonders if this would hold true, even if they confessed their feelings, and B didn’t feel the same way. The thought hurts them deeply.
14. At a party, A and B are dared to sing a love song together. They do it, yet A can’t help but notice the longing in B’s eyes. Surely they’re just imagining what they want to see…?
15. When out with some other friends, A is asked to describe their ideal partner, and they accidentally describe B. They attempt to backtrack, but the damage has been done—their friends are going to tease them about their obvious crush on B.
