Chapter Three: The Faceless
Universe: The Mandalorian
Character: Din Djarin
Type: Reader insert (female reader)
Words: 2,251
Warnings: Swearing
Note: Woo Chapter three! Frog lady is on board and you’re both questioning your ways of life. Some fluffiness and an attempt at answering questions maybe...

-

Generally, the thought of having another passenger on board would be a nightmare but she took away from the slight awkwardness that came from the burning curiosity that radiated off of the Mandalorian. He had questions, you knew it but then what did you expect after pulling a stunt like you had back on Tatooine. Maybe you just let your anger get the best of you and you should let curious minds ask curious questions. You always wanted to know more and explore more but you just weren’t the asking type, thus making you not the answering type either.
You sat on the floor below deck consumed by your thoughts and unsuccessfully trying to distract yourself with tending to your batons. Maybe sharing secrets wasn’t the worst idea but you would have to confront those secrets yourself first before giving them so freely. Especially considering you barely knew this Mandalorian, hell you never really even spoke to him on a personal level but this long haul trek through space without jumping gave you time to start questioning all about the situation you were in. It was the first time you actually felt content in the company you were in and even with him annoying the hell out of you on Tatooine and previously just having travelled around with him and kept tabs on the kid- occasionally him too. Fuck me, you needed to get a grip on the way you were feeling, not just flicker between various stages of anger and just existing. You hushed your thoughts when the Mandalorian came down into the bay.
“Where’s the kid?” He asked upon finding the little sleeping cubby empty. You looked around and saw him with his hand in the vat of eggs.
“Hey!” He beat you to it and went over to stop him as he ate one of the eggs to which he got a telling off. Were you really so out of it that you didn’t notice?
“Get some sleep.” It was like he read your mind as he crawled into the space with the kid to take a nap, so you let yourself drift off into a nap of your own finally.
-
“Hey! Hold on down there!” Your nap was interrupted and you stood up immediately to see what was going on only to be thrown off your feet. Had you not had enough of being airborne? You made several attempts to get to your feet but you had no idea what turns he was making with the ship and you were still absolutely shattered despite the nap you’d had. So, you had no choice but to just let yourself slide around on the floor and try and cushion the blow of being thrown into the panels. You heard the engines go and the ship dove straight down, sending you hurtling into one panel before being thrown to the landing doors. Thankfully before you acquired too many new bruises you were eventually thrown into the ladder up to the cockpit where you were able to brace yourself and clamber up.
“What the hell is going on?” You braced yourself when you got to the cockpit and looked at the scanners. “X-wings?” The hell did they want and why were we coming into an ice planet.
“I may or may not be wanted,” He read the question on your mind, “Hold on.” He repeated but there wasn’t really much to brace yourself on. All it took was one sharp knock and you were crash landing to the ground. You kept yourself steady somehow, until touch down where you were able to climb to your feet once more. It was honestly tragic how much time you’d spent in mid air or flat on your ass lately. That was until the ice broke beneath the ship and once again you found yourself falling, well you got thrown back down the ladder and plunged into darkness.
You woke up with the Mandalorian hopping off of the bottom rung of the ladder and  touching his hand to your shoulder. Your ears were ringing but you could make out that he was saying your name and moving his hand to the bottom of your visor which took you off guard and sobered you up very quickly.
“ ‘m fine.” You rasped and grabbed his wrist making him jump then quickly relax his hand before you let it fall from your grip, his hand remained extended to you though. You stared for a moment before reluctantly taking hold and letting him pull you to your feet.
“Thanks,” You twisted your torso to stretch your body out and took note of the huge hole in the side of the ship and the sparking wiring, “Shit, this is bad news.” Your breath clouded in the air as you really took note of the ice and snow that had drifted in to the hold.
“I know...” He sighed.
-
It was freezing. You really wanted rid of the heat on Tatooine but this was an extreme shift in temperature. You could barely get some shut eye despite how heavy your eyes really were. You felt bad for the amphibian as neither of you spoke her language but she was clearly exasperated trying to communicate something but she was told it could wait until morning. You heard her tinkering around and watched her fiddle with an old droid that lay against the wall in a few pieces. You glanced at her eggs which she had covered with her own blanket and you sighed. She needed to keep them warm, you could tell that much. You reached out and pulled the vat towards you which you placed on your lap, underneath the loose cloth that draped around your shoulders. She watched you for a moment and nodded, which you could only assume was meant as gratitude but you had little time to figure it out as sleep suddenly washed over you.
-
Once again you were rudely awoken along with the Mandalorian. The amphibian had gotten the droid partly working so it could translate what she needed to say, that she couldn’t wait much longer or her eggs would perish. You were slightly stunned when she took a dig at the Mandalorian’s honour but to your surprise it worked and he grabbed his toolkit and left, muttering on his way out. Maybe his creed and integrity were being questioned even by himself. You chuckled and set the eggs aside then hauled yourself up to go give him a hand.

The silence for once seemed deafening. He had questions and you, well you had some questions but you almost just wanted to give him answers for once in your life, but it was something you would certainly struggle with.
“What will you do when you find another Mandalorian?” You decided was the best way to break the silence. He took a moment before he answered, processing the shift in the way you were interacting with him.
“I would ask them for help. They would know where to find the kid’s kind.” He continued his work as he spoke, as did you.
“Do you know what his kind is?” You asked out of genuine curiosity.
“Not really. I’ve heard mentions of Jedi.” He said plainly and you paused for a moment, pondering on whether to take your chances.
“Do you know much of the Jedi?” You asked a little timidly.
“No. I know he can move things with his mind and he can heal wounds. That’s as much as I’ve seen.” He admitted. So he knew very little then. He had no idea of the full extent. Your silence did not go unnoticed by him. “Do you?” He asked quietly.
“A little.” You admitted.
“What are they?” He pressed.
“They are wielders of the force. It’s like a religion. Very few remain.” You sounded stupid but you really didn’t know how to begin explaining.
“I see.. What else can they do?” He turned his head slightly to you, pausing in his work.
“A great many things if they put their mind to it. It requires a lot of practice and will of the mind.” You couldn’t help yourself being so vague and in the pointed silence that followed, you also stopped and turned your head to him.
“How did you-“ He was cut off by the kid appearing and making some noises while pointing. He told him to make himself useful and come help but he wandered off instead so the Mandalorian followed and left you to carry on repairs.
He hadn’t been gone too long but you felt uneasy all of a sudden so you came around to the hole in the ship and noticed the footprints that lead off into a cave system. You heard faint noises and approached the cave carefully, then you heard his blaster followed by explosions and they were getting closer. You backed your way to the ship with your blaster drawn on the cave entrance and watched as they appeared with a hoard of arachnid type creatures on their tail. You opened fire on the creatures and held the cloth that covered the hole in the ship open for the amphibian to climb through and take the child and her eggs from the Mandalorian. He ushered you in before him and you covered him while he clambered in too.
Up in the cockpit, you all struggled to get the door shut and he told you to start the engines. You did as you were told as he torched the creatures that held the door open. You didn’t get far off the ground before a giant arachnid leapt on to the ship and dragged what you hoped was it’s mouth over the glass. You racked your brain for some sort of escape plan but you came up empty, Only somebody else seemed to have come to the rescue. The Mandalorian went to see and you waited in the hold out of sight, in case it wasn’t a very friendly rescue.

-

Once again you found yourself working to repair the cockpit, enough to hold until you made it to Trask. The kid watched with his face pressed against the window as you both worked on the outer layers of the cockpit. You watched him back for a moment, thinking about how much more confident he seemed or that maybe he was growing. He seemed to be babbling an awful lot recently, though it still made very little sense to either of you, you could at least somewhat tell how he was feeling. You held your palm up and he watched as you slowly brought it closer to the glass with his own hand pressed against it.
“Bah!” You suddenly smacked the glass in front of him and he wailed before falling backwards. “Shit.” You muttered, trying to withhold the chuckle in your throat but the Mandalorian chuckled first which made you smile. The kid reappeared at the glass looking a little unsure and you felt for him a little then.
“You think it’s hard for him, having two faceless idiots to look after him?” The Mandalorian asked out of nowhere and it hit you in ways you hadn’t expected. It was the first brush with the topic of neither of you having your faces shown. Not the first ever, but the first time between the two of you where for however many months it had been, there was a mutual respect for the choices you each made on that front. Secondly, they were a clan of two but now it was the two faceless idiots that were in charge of the kid. Was this his way of saying you were no longer just a passenger there to help, or was he asking?
“Maybe. Did you ever find it difficult?” You tilted your head in his direction.
“Sometimes.” He paused for thought, “I got used to it but I wouldn’t like to say that Mandalorians are well known for the way they handle emotions. It’s not like we could see faces either.” He spoke quietly. He would never admit to it but between considering letting Omera remove his helmet and letting IG-11 remove it, he found himself straying further from the path of his creed. Not that he would ever desert it, he owed them so much but he had other priorities now with the kid. He was just conflicted.
“He knows he is protected and safe. He can see it but more than anything he can sense it.” You gently interrupted whatever thoughts he had and you both looked at the child once more whose face and hands were pressed against the window. You reached out again and he flinched for a moment but you remained steady and placed your hand on the glass lightly. He looked at your hand then put his tiny little hand up against yours then looked to the Mandalorian.
“See?” You said and looked at him too. You heard a barely audible hum from his modulator and watched him place his palm against the window too. You could feel the warmth of whatever this energy was that passed between the three of you. You felt it in your heart at first as a tingle and as you drew breath and exhaled it pulsed down through your arms, sending goosebumps with it.
“He will be fine.” You smiled, hoping he would hear it in your voice then went back to your work.

Chapter Two: The Beast
Universe: The Mandalorian
Character: Din Djarin
Type: Reader insert (female)
Words: 2,610
Warnings: Swearing
Notes: Chapter two lads! Genuine question, is it weird that I’m just adding you to the story. Like I legitimately can’t tell if I’m just writing out the Mandalorian or if I’m actually adding anything of value to it...
-
Desert planets really were the worst, at least in your mind and the Mandalorian seemed to agree with you. Upon arrival on Tatooine, you were greeted with an old acquaintance of his who didn’t even know if Mos Pelgo was still standing until her droid pointed the way.
“Who’s your friend?” She asked him and gestured over his shoulder to where you were stood leaning against the the foot of the razor crest with your arms folded, listening to their discussion. He was hesitant in his response as in that moment he realised he didn’t even know your name. Thus far, he had never had to refer to you to anyone nor did he need to grab your attention for anything. He rarely asked for names, he would always find out in some way, much less was he inclined to give out his own name but he felt shameful at that momemt for not knowing yours.
“A passenger.” He eventually responded after glancing back at you.
“Another faceless stranger like you, huh?” She rocked the kid on her hip before handing him back over. He did not respond to her remark and simply thanked her before taking his leave, so you grabbed your new batons you’d gotten on the last stop off the floor and slid them into the holsters on your back where they lay crossed over one another.
-
“You sure there’s Mandalorian here?” You asked once you reached the town of Mos Pelgo, eyeing up the folk that resided there.
“I had word from Gor Koresh there had been a sighting here.” He seemed to be equally on edge as you were. So that’s what he had gotten up to when he went for a little walk into town the other day.
It was in a bar that you’d finally caught sight of this Mandalorian that was said to be here but much to the disappointment of your companion, he was not the real deal and subsequently he was to return his armour to be brought back to its own people which brought a tense situation about and surprisingly a Krayt Dragon straight through the village. A deal was eventually struck but something still felt a little bit iffy to you, so you kept your guard up. That armour was not his, yes but it was haunted.
-
Tusken raiders. This was going to be a fun team up, especially if this Cobb Vanth guy was going to get pissy about working with them at every opportune moment. You were getting pretty annoyed watching him refuse to drink with them and almost gave him a piece of your mind until he finally relented. Unfortunately for you however, he felt the need to come and sit with you away from the rest, probably in a state of embarassment.
“Well that was nasty..” He commented as he sat on the rock you’d perched yourself on but you made no comment and simply pulled out your blaster to inspect and keep yourself occupied.
“You’re not much of a talker either huh? “ You declined to comment once again, “Well just be grateful you didn’t have to drink whatever that shit was.” He drawled.
“Be grateful they even agreed to help after you refused to have one simple drink.” You finally piped up but kept your voice low and unwavering. He looked at you for a moment with his mouth slightly ajar then smiled a little.
“So you do have a voice.. and a ladies voice at that.” You felt the shift in his mood.
“I ain’t no lady, I can tell you that.” You remained fairly neutral with your annoyance subsiding ever so slightly.
“Oh I don’t doubt that..” He raised his brows and kicked his legs out in front of him then crossed one over the other. You stopped your blaster inspection and turned your head slightly to see him leaning back rather casually now and resting on his elbows. So he was getting flirty was he? You rather enjoyed taking someone’s ego down a peg or two sometimes.
“What do you mean by that?” Your tone gave nothing away but you mirrored his position.
“Well..” He was slightly taken back but he adjusted once he saw you lean back as he did, “I simply meant I can’t see you being particularly lady-like, maybe even fairly brazen..” He almost whispered the last word as he glanced around casually, his eyes briefly registering the Mandalorian who was almost certainly watching and listening in despite being preoccupied with the kid, so he turned in his side to keep a more intimate conversation going. You remained as you were and also noticed your companion’s attention running your way.
“Are you trying to flirt with me?” You asked, keeping your eyes on the Mandalorian.
“Is it not working?” He chuckled as he spoke softly, trying to maintain the intimacy.
“Do you see me trying to fuck you?” You looked at him now, briefly seeing your companion choke on his own saliva presumably.
“Well I wouldn’t expect you to try here.” He shrugged. This man was relentless.
“I would tear you apart before I even thought about trying.” You were so nonchalant he was almost disturbed by it.
Your eyes went to the Mandalorian again who seemed more relaxed than he had been the last time you looked. Truthfully he was grateful you had refused Vanth’s advances and was now finding it highly amusing.
“Alright, I get the hint,” Cobb laughed after finally speaking up, “However. I could probably get into that.” He hinted and you paused for a moment before finding the humour in what he had said.
“Well if I change my mind you can fuck around and find out.” You laughed under your breath.
“Deal.” He agreed with a hearty chuckle and then left you in peace to think about how maybe the company of others wasn’t entirely terrible and not everyone was out to get you. That last part was yet to be proved however.
-
You were stood just in front of the villagers and sand people, wanting front row seating on what was about to go down with the krayt beastie. You watched as the raiders took a bantha as an offering to what you assumed to be the front door of the great beast’s hideout. You’d be lying if you said you didn’t feel a little excited but moments later that all changed. Everything went to shit, it was too clever and it needed to be lured further out. Grappling hooks had been shot into its hide and there was a collective effort to hold them down but there was nowhere near enough man power to do anything against the strength of that thing. You shot one in an attempt to help keep the beast down but once it reared its head back, launching anyone attached into the air, you let go and let yourself come crashing down to the floor, winding yourself. You tucked your limbs in as raiders flew past you being dragged along by the ropes, you lifted your head and watched the last one blow past you, grabbing its rifle in the process then leapt to your feet and sprinted off to the side to keep the collective target off your back. You aimed your weapon and watched as it spewed some sort of acidic goo from its mouth, You didn’t know that could happen... Nor did you expect it to survive the ensuing blast.
You fired as soon as it reared its ugly head from the top of the cave and spewed more of that nasty green stuff. You liked a challenge but this was getting a little frustrating and required new tactics which were thin on the ground with this thing. Just as your mind went to the Mandalorians and their jetpacks, they took off up to the beast.
“Keep going!” You yelled to the crowd and joined them, fronting a heavy assault on the beast to keep its attention but it didn’t hold for long when the other two started firing and it retreated once more. God this thing was annoying...
There was a brief silence waiting for the next attack and locating where it would come from. You focussed yourself and felt for where it was coming from, whilst watching through your scope. ‘Behind.’ Something in you told you it was behind and you swing your body around to scan the dunes behind you but your vantage was poor so you moved closer to the group where the Mandalorians turned to follow your sight. Sure enough you were right and it came thundering down the dunes. Now what? All you could really do was shoot. Unless.. the bantha.
“Hey!” You got their attention and nodded to the bantha that was strapped with explosives.
“Get its attention.” The mandalorian instructed Vanth and that he did but the bantha was restless. Next thing you saw was Vanth being jetted off against his will and the Mandalorian holding tight to the bantha. You focussed your sight on the bantha but he was in the way.
“Move!” You called and he glanced at you but remained unmoved. You felt your blood boil and and your breathing slow down but before anything else could happen, he had been taken down with the dragon and you were left in a deafening silence, only briefly registering the kids concerned garbles.
‘Move.’ You repeated your last words to yourself and they echoed around your head, growing from a whisper to a frantic wail. You shook your head and snapped out of your daze a little too late to pay heed to your own warning. You started running but the ground beneath you broke and the dragon resurfaced, flicking you into the air at enough of an angle to let you land safely into a roll and back to your feet. You turned sharply, rifle at the ready but the Mandalorian hovered above it with the detenator in hand.
‘Fuck.’ You thought and lowered the rifle just in time to witness the explosion through your own eyes and your rifle being torn from your hands. You were however several feet in the air, watching the sand riple around you. The force of the explosion left you no room to right yourself in the air for a comfortable landing and it felt like forever that you were flying. You heard the kid in that moment again, his concerned little cry urging you to be alright. You took a deep breath and willed yourself to arch backwards until you saw the floor slowly getting closer. You pulled the batons from their place on your back and prayed they were a good investment then stretched your arms out above your head until they made contact with the sand. You kicked your foot and swung your body around to plant your feet on the ground too in s crouching position. You pressed down hard until you came to a stop next to Vanth who took his helmet off to make a point of looking at you, confusion plastered across his face for a moment.
You stood to your feet and he joined you in watching the beast, making sure it really was dead this time and given that it was practically torn apart you’d say it was. The job was done. The raiders and the villagers cheered at the sight of the fallen beast so you let your guard down and your legs gave way, letting you sink to your knees and catch your breath.
“You alright?” Vanth appeared beside you and knelt down to your level.
“Fucking A.” You panted as you stared at your hands, willing them to loosen their grip on the batons. Vanth disappeared and the kid appeared in his place next to you and rested his little hand on your thigh, you looked at him and felt your body relax itself.
“Thanks kid.” You sighed and touched the palm of your hand to his head before attempting to will yourself to your feet again but you felt the burn in your thighs as you shifted your weight forwards, making you groan in frustration and question why you pulled that stunt in the first place. Your life wasn’t in mortal danger so what was the point.
“Fuck sake.” You whispered to yourself and sighed again.
“You okay?” The Mandalorian stood before you now. ‘Great. More attention.’ You thought as you drew your gaze from his feet up to his helmet. You took in the little bits of slime that clung to the beskar and watched him extend his hand out to you. You felt anger again then and begrudgingly slapped your palm into his, letting him help you up because truthfully you needed it.
The Mandalorian wanted to ask you a million questions in that moment. They had all built up over the past few months but his stubbornness to remain withdrawn always got the better of him, especially since you were built the same way. You never asked him questions but then again, he didn’t seem to have an air about him. He was a damn good bounty hunter, he was great at his job and the best there was but he had the odd bit of technology on his side. There was nothing technological built into you, he knew this because he had scanned you once out of curiosity so the questions remained. How did you sense things so early? How were you so skilled in combat? And HOW did you twist your way out of a blast like that and kick your leg off of something that wasn’t there?
He was staring at you and you could almost hear the cogs grinding around in that bucket of his.
“You fucking idiot.” You finally broke the silence and jabbed a baton into his chest plate. You were short tempered, he knew that much but you seemed genuinely angry and he was surprised by such an oddly personal interaction. “Move out of the fucking way next time.” That definitely felt like a threat. He watched you walk past him and over to the carcass of the beast then he followed suit wordlessly.
-
Vanth stuck to his word and handed the armour over to the Mandalorian wishing him luck with the child then he stepped over to you.
“Any chance you fancy staying here?” That was an odd question you thought.
“Why on earth would I do that?” Truly you had no intention of sticking it out here.
“Just wondering if you’d changed your mind..” He grinned and you snorted.
“It’s far too hot for me here to even attempt that sort of business.” You put your hand on your hip.
“Well, you could fuck around and find out. On your next visit maybe.” He added with a smirk and you shook your head.
“Maybe.” You both knew you were lying but it was all harmless either way.
You bid your farewell as did the Mandalorian then you both started heading back to the ship. You took the armour from him to help distribut the load but it still felt haunted. You touched your palm to the helmet and paused for a moment then jerked your torso around to scan the horizons.
“What’s wrong?” The Mandalorian stopped just ahead of you and saw you looking back. You were too tired to deal with whatever business was going on, you felt no immediate threat so you shook it off and hooked the bundle over your back and proceeded in front of the Mandalorian.
“Nothing.” You mumbled on your way past as he stood watching where you had been looking then he sighed and followed suit.

Chapter One: The Passenger
Universe: The Mandalorian
Character: Din Djarin (The Mandalorian)
Words: 1,405
Type: Reader insert (female)
A set up chapter. You find the Mandalorian and he takes you with him. You're an enigma to him.
Note:
Eventual fluff and maybe some smut.
This is a set up chapter for whatever else I have in store. I'm in a hell of a slump so I'm writing a selfish piece to try and draw my creativity out again.
I've been listening to Priest while writing this.. that's where my vibes are at.
Not proof read yet sorryyy it's 3 am plus I'm losing my mind.
-
There were few differences between yourself and the Mandalorian you had found yourself travelling with. You were more aggressive and he was more pensive. You were perhaps the more talkative one but he was a man of action over his words. He hid himself for his Creed and you hid yourself for your own peace of mind but there was a mutual understanding between the two of you about it. In fact, thus far, no conversations had taken place between either of you about the situation which you were grateful of. Not that it stopped others from asking either of you why you hid yourselves, moreso for the Mandalorian which was odd to you as it was the Mandalorian way, anyone who know what a Mandalorian was knew that.
-
The Mandalorian was sat in the pilot’s seat, staring into the distance as the kid sat next to him babbling away. You were returning from the perimeters of the area you were currently stationed in. He turned to face you as you stepped into the cockpit.
“Whoever they were won’t be coming back anytime soon.” You answered his unspoken question and he hummed in response.
“What’s he so mad about?” You gestured at the kid.
“He is? Probably because I won’t let him have his little ball.” He watched you intently when you commented things like that. You always knew what the kid needed, even when it wasn’t obvious but was baffling to him was how you always seemed to pick up on his moods and feelings. He had always put it down to maternal instincts but he had since learned that you were not the maternal type and that there was more to you than met the eye. You’d brush things like that off, saying it was obvious but it seeped into things that were definitely not obvious, like freak accidents and the arrivals of total strangers from 100ft away. How was it possible that the longer he knew you and the more he knew, the more enigmatic you became.
“Hungry?” You asked and the child perked up a little, grabbing at the air with his tiny fingers. “Goes for you too, Mandalorian.” How long had it been now on this ship as the three of you and you still took to calling him ‘Mandalorian’? Granted, he wasn’t overly find on ‘Mando’, but he would probably prefer it since you seemed so hostile most of the time. He hummed in response so off you went in search of food.
He turned his chair back to facing forward and found himself thinking about when he had first met you which seemed to be a memory he drifted to fairly often now. Something about it felt like it held answers to questions he wasn’t totally sure he wanted to know or even ask.
-
You had intercepted an attempt made on his life in a little town somewhere. So much for laying low- either of you. It wasn’t totally necessary and there wasn’t exactly a code that bounty hunters went by to keep each other safe, in fact it was everyone for themselves but you intercepted anyway. He simply watched you as you practically danced your way around a punch up with movements as fluid as water. You wore some sort of helmet which he could see gleaming beneath the cloth that covered it completely then flowed off of your shoulders slightly. In fact everything from your movements to the way you dressed seemed to flow like water. Even the kid seemed to be entranced as he popped his head out of his little pod and made some sort of noise in awe or confusion, he could not tell what it meant but it stopped you dead in your tracks as you looked over to them both. Your distraction had cost you dearly and you found yourself with a blade embeded in your leg from the man who laid beneath your boot. You reeled back in pain but before the Mandalorian could even take two steps to help you, you had raised the same leg and dropped it down hard against his neck with a loud crack before bracing yourself again.
“You shouldn’t be bringing something like that around here. He is not safe.” You warned him as he just watched you from where he stood but before he could open his mouth you put your hand out, “Go.” You urged through grit teeth. A few seconds later he heard footsteps approaching and he took another step in your direction. “Go, go go!” You practically spat at him and he almost listened to you for a second before he remembered who he was and threw an explosive into the alleyway behind you, put his arm around your waist and helped you escape with him. The rest, as they say, is history.
-
You certainly let the kid have more fun than the Mandalorian did. It’s not that he didn’t let him have fun at all but you just seemed to know far better than he did about what the kid needed or what he was missing out on. The fact that the kid was in constant danger stood as testament as to why he would be so cautious with him, that and the magic hand thing which he just seemed to be rolling with. That was enough to out anyone on edge.
The Mandalorian would watch the way you interacted with the child quite often, taking note of what he liked to do but also keeping tabs on how you acted. He would tell himself it was to learn about what to do more with the kid but there was something about you that drew his curiosity and he started to wonder if that’s what people thought about him. Whether that sort of anonymity really was such an enigma or if it only happened when people cared enough about who was underneath the beskar or in your case, the cloth.
He watched you now, eating his food from the comfort of the cockpit as you and the kid were sat outside, letting the kid eat his own food in front of the fire. The suns were setting and made for a beautiful scene, especially from the mountainous vantage point you had made camp in for the night. Little moments like these were made to be appreciated in your eyes, if there was time to appreciate something then you would. You picked up the kid and took him to the near by ledge to get a better look at the setting suns, one being vastly smaller than the other. You set the kid down next to you on a rock and pointed the suns out to him. Something the Mandalorian felt inclined to come and watch too, so he made his way down.
“Appreciate moments like these, kiddo. You don’t know whether you’ll see the same thing again.” You leant your arm against the rock and felt the little thing tugging at your sleeve. You smiled to yourself and picked him up again and let him clamber up onto your shoulder where he nestled himself into the hood shape that your scarf formed. Something he would start doing more often now.
“Where’s the kid?” The Mandalorian had joined you a few moments later, scanning briefly for the kid. You turned your body slightly to where he stood parallel with you on the other side of the rock so he could see the little thing hidden within your shroud. He laughed under his breath then, a genuine laugh.
“He likes it there.” He commented and you hummed in response, laughing briefly too.
“I can feel him getting heavier. He will fall asleep soon, I’m sure.” You turned your head to continue watching the suns as they set and so did he until they were mostly gone and the child was asleep.
“Tatooine huh? Laid low for long enough you reckon?” You had put the child in its pod and gone to check out where the next destination the Mandalorian had set was to be.
“Been a few months since Nevarro. Waiting longer could prove more dangerous.” You were a little relieved at his words. It’s not that you didn’t enjoy laying low and exploring, but you could do with some action.
“What’s the plan?” You sat in the co-pilots seat.
“Got word there’s a Mandalorian there."

Ahoy friends, this is your Captain speaking.
I just wanted to say real quickly that I've updated my masterlist and fic intros with the reader pronouns (if any) because I'm a fool for not doing so in the first place. (Except for one fic which Tumblr just won't let me edit at all).
Please also let me know your preferences in your requests, I'd like to make it absolutely clear that this a space for everyone!
-
Lastly, I do want to make a quick apology for being utterly useless in the past couple of months. Lockdown had me all types of numb. I'm trying not to to be disheartened by my own lack of inspiration and general lack of thoughts but shit happens 🤷
I won't go into great detail about it but I've lost a lot of myself and my brainpower and it's fairly empty up there and what is in there is short term so yeah. I just want you guys to know the deal for when I go AWOL.
Thanks for sticking with me this far though, my faithful crew! Your kind comments and words are really helping me 🖤🖤🖤

From Heaven and Hell
Universe: Harry Potter
Character: Severus Snape
Type: F!Reader insert
Words: 2,724
Prompt: Dude, Dude- I love your Snape works! ❤❤ Could you please do a Snape x Prof Reader where she is the hot new teacher and everyone gossips about her or sum? She's like a major flirt too so she flirts with Snape a lot. Eventually with the gossip and flirting he finally admits he likes her? Can end smutty or fluffy- surprise us! Thank you! Keep being awesome!
Note: I’ve done my best to research locations, layouts etc. But I’ve discovered a lot of contradictory information, so this is all going to go how I want it to go. No nit picking please
Guys. I’ve been gone for so long. I’m in such a rut, I feel so uninspired all the time. Sorry for the LONG wait. 💔
-
Something was happening and if anyone could find out, it would be one Professor Severus Snape. He had a nose for sniffing out trouble like a bloodhound and boy what a nose it was. He made a sweep of all the corridors on his lunch time stroll but everything seemed to be in relative order until he noticed the regular bustling noise that filled the corridors and the sound of the outdoors seemed to dissipate and compress into whispers. Then he noticed students had started to lean over the sides of the stone bannisters and other students on the grounds were looking in the same direction. How curious. He tried to peer over their heads but he was unsuccessful so headed to one of the sets of steps down to the grounds. He made it precisely 2.3 steps down when his purposeful stride immediately dissipated and the last 0.7 steps was spent holding onto the stone wall to balance himself as his body somewhat stuttered and moved itself to one side.
“Thank you.” You smiled and brushed lightly against him as you ascended the steps he had just taken. Severus’ gaze followed you lazily until you disappeared up the corridor, then his body snapped into action and went to catch up with you which proved more difficult with students blocking his path after they cleared space for you.
When he finally had caught up to you, you were being ushered away by Minerva and he had to leave it at that for now. Though he could not see you anymore, you certainly were fresh in his mind and did a good job occupying it for the rest of the day and apparently most of the students’ too. Severus had to interrupt no end of conversations and gossip about who this mysterious stranger was and how ‘easy on the eyes’ you were.
-
Severus had lost his train of thought so much that day that it never even crossed his mind that you were the new Arithmancy professor until the headmaster was announcing it to the students. He stared for a moment with his mouth slightly agape and clapped slowly, off beat with anybody else’s applause. He despised the fact that you had him stumbling over himself, well before even knowing your name.
Once dinner was over he watched you leave the hall before making his own move. The eyes that followed you did not go unnoticed by him either as he grit his teeth and walked faster, despite wanting to make sure you left first so he would not encounter you again.
“..No, no. It’s not important to our studies, just a preference but it can’t be helped!” He heard your voice then the headmaster bidding you goodnight as he approached the large doors out to the entrance hall. He peered around the frame and all seemed clear so he confidently strode to the dungeons entrance only he came to pause at the top of the steps and felt the need to look up the stairs, something was different which made his eyes narrow instinctively as he crept quietly to the bottom of the ascending stairs. He almost jumped when your own narrowed eyes appeared from the darkness.
“You.” He stated in no particular manner which amused you a little.
“It is me, yes.” You folded your arms and leant against the wall for a moment, “..and you are?”
“Severus Snape.” He remained fairly neutral in expression and tone until you started descending towards him, then he seemed a little startled as you held your hand out to him, repeating the name he had already committed to memory.
“So, Severus. You’re the reason I can’t have the dungeons for myself.” You resumed your stance leaning on the wall again.
“I suppose I am.” He responded in a more Snape friendly tone as the edge had been taken off.
“I was rather looking forwards to all the devilish little things I could get away with down there. Dancing with the devil perhaps.” Severus was too busy processing what any of that could insinuate to respond. “Well, I’ll try not to bother you too much but I may need some local knowledge from you at some point. Feel free to visit me in heaven sometime.” You winked then laughed at yourself, a terrible joke really but the tease of it worked enough.
“Of course.” He raised his brow, wondering what was with all the biblical crap, though judging by the smirk on your face, his expression had meant something else to.
“I look forward to your visit, Goodnight for now, Severus.” Shit. It meant acceptance of the invitation.
“Good night.” He mumbled back and watched you disappear up the stairs as you lit your way with your wand. He couldn’t help but notice how literal your heaven and hell joke seemed as he watched the white light fade, then glanced down his own set of steps before him, taking in the reddish hue of candles and torches. He shook himself from his thoughts and descended the steps to hell.
The next morning after breakfast, Severus found himself once again stood at the bottom of your stairs just being captivated by you and the conversation you were both having.
“Sir-” one of his students attempted to speak to him as they walked by but was cut off by the famous glare.
“Wait downstairs.” He instructed and returned to you with a softer gaze.
“Have I distracted you?” You laughed at his little interaction.
“I wouldn’t say so. I’ll be on time.” He reassured himself more than anyone.
“I shall try harder next time then.” You raised a brow suggestively then bid him a good morning and left him to go to his class.
-
Your little chats happened on a daily basis now, making good on your word to try harder to distract him and in the evenings they would run at great lengths and would always end when you asked if he wanted to come up rather than just sit around in the stairwell but he would always decline and retreat to his little cave. You wanted to make it your mission to get him into your room or vice versa, mainly for comfort but also it was just a more intimate setting but you weren’t going to force it. You enjoyed flirting with him and he never told you to stop or that he was uncomfortable but you weren’t just going to push through his boundaries like that.
Unbeknownst to you, he was rather hoping you would push his boundaries, although he didn’t quite realise that himself either, he would soon though. He would tell himself that you initiated everything and he merely listened and tolerated your company but he would now come face to face with the reality of the part he played.
It was after dinner one evening when you both walked back to those fateful stairs and he leant against the wall, preparing for a long conversation but you took a step up the stairs and turned to him.
“I’m afraid I’ve got a student coming in a moment so I can’t stay and chat tonight, you can always come knocking later if you want a late night chat though.” You winked at him, briefly noticing the disappointment in his eyes, then a glint of something like panic before he mumbled that it was alright and that he would speak to you soon then he left. The panic was very odd, but the rest was a sign to you that he enjoyed your company at least.
Once he got back to the dungeons he sat himself at his desk and thought for a moment. He had panicked a little when he had left but it wasn’t necessarily bad but it was certainly new. The reason being was that he realised you had both been speaking for weeks, almost never missing a day but only for things you were both required to attend. As a result he hadn’t given any detentions or anything which was fairly unusual for him. No, it must be that the students finally learned how to behave. That’s what he told himself anyway but his students were going to make him think again the next day.
-
He was running late after talking to you that morning, not that he would admit to it but he took his time getting to his classroom, especially when he heard the mention of your name from inside so he paused to listen.
“Merlin, what I wouldn’t do for that woman!” He heard one student say.
“Arithmancy is easy-ish right? I could get into that class.” Another asked but was scoffed at and told it wasn’t exactly easy.
“You seen the way she flirts with Snape? Not only is she stunning but she flirts- albeit questionable- with Snape which keeps him out of our hair.”
“You’re right! None of us have had detention in weeks, he’s the late one now AND if you ask me, I think he doesn’t want to give us detention because he wants his evening free for her. I bet you anything that those two are fuc-“ That conversation came to an abrupt end when Severus practically flew into the room which stunned everyone into silence. He had to put an end to what he was hearing for his own sake but he was too embarrassed about it to confront them so went about his lesson but he knew as soon as it was over he had a lot of mulling over to do. In fact, he barely left his room all day which didn’t worry you but it wasn’t half boring without him to talk to all day.
Almost a week it had lasted. His little phase of barely leaving his room and any chats you usually had had come to a stop. Maybe you’d pushed him too far, or perhaps he had come to realise he couldn’t be bothered to put up with your incessant chatting anymore.
You watched one morning as he walked in front of you yet again rather than beside you then disappeared down into his dungeons, You sighed and went to ascend your own staircase.
“Professor.” The voice of a student behind you interrupted your thoughts rather abruptly, he was no student of yours.
“Yes?” You smiled welcomingly, opening yourself up to any conversation this child wanted to have with you as they shifted nervously before you.
“Do you think you could start talking to Professor Snape again? I know I’m out of line here but he isn’t the same and when you did speak to him he was much nicer than before but now he just seems... off. It’s unsettling to tell you the truth.” You almost laughed at the cheek of the child but they said it so innocently and with genuine concern that you stifled a laugh and chuckled lightly instead.
“I’ll do my best. Now hurry along or you’ll be late.” You continued chuckling to yourself as you carried on up the stairs, wondering if you should take his advice.
-
Later that evening you stood at the top of the stairs, staring down into the darkness before forcing yourself down them. You reached his door and knocked before you could even contemplate doing it. You waited longer than you should have before trying again after there was no response but once again, nothing. You turned to leave and thought perhaps you should wait for him for a few minutes in case he was preoccupied somewhere else for a moment so you made yourself comfortable on the bottom step.
Still, he never returned and you gave up, thinking you would try again tomorrow. Walking back up you were consumed with just how boring everything was without him to help occupy your time. Sure, you had things to get on with but there were little gaps in the day now that felt so empty. Just before you reached the ground between the two staircases, purgatory if you were to run with the biblical themes you had going on for some reason, he came into view. He was coming down from the tower you resided in and for a moment, you both just stared at eachother, frozen.
“Just the man I was looking for.” You broke silence first, opting for your usual flirtatious inflection.
“I am?” He forced in a innocence to his tone.
“Yes. What were you doing up there?” You addressed the elephant in the room.
“I was looking for you. I waited a little while. What were you looking for me for?” He folded his arms and raised his brows, pushing the interrogation back onto you.
“Well,” So he wanted to play that game huh, “I’ve been awfully bored as of recent and you’ve been avoiding me all week. So, I thought why not entertain myself with bothering you for a while.” Alright, that was the real elephant in the room and he knew it.
“Ah,” His eyes were downcast for a moment as he briefly contemplated, “Why don’t you come down with me then and bother me for the evening.” He closed the gap between you and paused just before you with his arm gesturing down the stairs as an invitation.
“I just bloody climbed these stairs.” You groaned but turned around and started walking anyway.
-
Once inside, he got you both a drink and sat with you to have one of those conversations he was so used to having with you but before that could start, you had to know whether he even wanted to.
“Severus.”
“Yes?” He shifted uncomfortably at the seriousness of your tone.
“Don’t misunderstand me when I say I do enjoy bothering you and talking to you but do you tolerate my babbling or do you actually enjoy my company?” You found yourself unable to look at him as he took a moment to think, despite how direct the question was.
“I suppose I tolerate your babbling BECAUSE I enjoy your company. Although I wouldn’t call it babbling really.” That was a start.
“So you’ve just been busy this week and I’ve foolishly thought I’d done something?” You looked at him now, apologetically with what you had insinuated.
“Well, I’ve been busy thinking about something you’ve done.” He put a great deal of thought into what he was saying and it still came out like that? Your eyes narrowed.
“You’re being very cryptic.” You stated plainly and he sighed lightly.
“Truthfully, I’ve been thinking about you. You’ve managed to keep this hold over me which I’m not totally unfamiliar with but it’s still new to me, especially with the way it affects me. It’s been... difficult to come to terms with.” He took a shaky breath and waited for your response as he stared at your hands. He watched them reach out to his own hands before looking you in the eye.
“I know exactly how you feel.” You smiled reassuringly.
“However, I do need to take things slow. In regards to processing what it all is.” He was still on edge.
“It doesn’t have to be anything you know, just see what happens.” You offered.
“I know, but it is something. I’m just in unfamiliar territory.” He had colour in his cheeks now as he waited for your delayed response.
“So no dancing with the devil yet then?” You cocked your brow and he visibly relaxed.
“Well.. I wouldn’t say that.”

Update
Ahoy!
I had a few things going on beginning of the month then started writing with more free time.
Recently however I've had one of those toothaches where it is spreading over my whole head and face and I'd love to just rip my own face off.
Just letting you guys know there's a little spanner in the works and my brain is currently functioning at a slower rate.
I'll be back on track soon!

Okay I'm the anon that asked about crossover fics lol Also this is long so I hope it doesn't get cut off. If it does lmk I'll just DM you. So I had a couple different ideas but I think the one that sticks out the most in mind would be Mycroft x a Hunter Reader (he doesn't know she's a Hunter) where Mycroft and the Reader had been friends for a long time (maybe lovers briefly? Your choice) Reader has a death in the family and goes back to America for the funeral (cause their family was originally from America). While in America she gets involved with the Winchester's and decides to stay in America. Her and Mycroft still keep in touch and when the British Men of Letters show up she's a bit unsure about them so she calls up Mycroft and asks him 'What do you know about the men of letters?' (cause y'know he IS the British government. If anyone would know about them, it'd be him) Obviously the Men of Letters is top secret (probably right up there with like torchwood, and project indigo) and she shouldn't know that name. He'd probably think there was a security breach, and wanna know who else knows about that, etc. She has to explain what she does for work and that's how he finds out she's a Hunter and you can decide how it ends obviously 😅. I just thought this would be an interesting idea.
So anon, I'm sorry to tell.you I know nothing about Supernatural (assuming that's what you mean by Winchesters) 😩
It does sound like a really interesting idea though so I can have a little think about how I can incorporate your idea into a fic somehow with either something else I know or make it up from scratch?
Feel free to DM me if you want to talk something else through or if you have another idea in mind! 🥰
Sorry I can't make the crossover work!

Hey do you take one shot requests? If so are requests open? Oh also if they're open would you consider trying crossover fics? Sorry you're one of the only still active accounts I've that write for Mycroft Holmes and I'm excited
Ahoy!
I'd love to write more Mycroft! It depends on what you'd like to crossover with though. Of I don't know it I'll happily write you one for Mycroft alone :)
I know the feel! I'm always down for Mycroft though do request away! 🥰

Growth
Universe: Harry Potter
Character: Severus Snape
Type: F!Reader insert (third person)
Words: 1,422
Prompt: Hey I’ve noticed you doing a lot of Snape, I’m a different anon wanting Snape content 😅 would it be possible for a Snape x Reader where the reader is a Herbology Professor and she delivers ingredients to Severus and they slowly fall in love? Love your work!!
Note: I made spells and plants up, don’t come for me! 😩 I ain't a fan of the 'I love you's but I hope you see they're falling in love :)
Enjoy!
-
There’s something so gratifying about watching things grow. Starting off from a simple seed or root, finding a little sprouting one day, seeing it get a little taller day by day then suddenly having a fully fledged plant or tree. All that being done by your own love and care never ceased to amaze you and make you happy inside.
You inspected todays specimens for harvest and plucked the almost bursting pods off each bush and placed a two in each pouch of the fifteen you had. You then swept the pouches off of the bench and onto the makeshift shelf you’d made by lifting your skirt up. You did this so often that you’d down loops to the sides of your skirt so you could do this and hook the loops over your arms to make carrying easier, almost like giant pockets.
You headed through your gardens and up to the castle, more specifically down to the dungeons to find Professor Snape. Oddly enough you liked it in the dungeons, despite being a Herbologist and relying on the sun and moon a lot, you really did enjoy the dark.
You knocked his door gently and only a beat later it opened for you and Severus stood there staring at you now.
“Good evening, Severus. I have your Porteynon pods for you.” You lifted your arm to showcase they were in your pocket and smiled briefly.
“Come in won’t you.” He stood back and opened the door wider for you then closed it once you’d stepped in. You knew he always inspected the ingredients you gave him and he always did it at his desk but you always waited for his invitation over. Once he invited you to his desk you gently removed the pouches from your ‘pocket’ and lay them on his desk as he sat down. He opened each pouch and inspected it’s contents silently then looked to you once he had finished. He usually had some form of complaint for you and as he opened his mouth to speak, a pop came from one of the pouches and some seeds escaped. He glanced at the pouch then slowly turned to glare at you.
“They’re overripe.” He concluded and you scoffed under your breath.
“You asked for seeds that were ready for use, still in their pods. What did you expect?” You folded your arms and mirrored his expression despite the smirk forming in your face.
“I expected better from you, that’s what I expected.” He leaned back in his chair and laced his palms together with his elbows resting in the arms of the chair.
“Of course you did. You know I’ve always told you you’re more than welcome to come and pick your own.” You shrugged and your smirk grew visible.
“I’m busy.” He responded plainly.
“You certainly look it,” You motioned to his empty desk and empty room, “Besides that, I’m also busy. More so trying to squeeze in all of your requirements which never come on a list, just individually- almost daily might I add.” You watched him with your brows raised for a moment. His expression not shifting, only a slight tint spreading over his cheeks. Noticeable only in that certain light the candles offered.
“I need some Vanderath.” He spoke after a moment of pondering with a playful glint in his eyes. You scoffed and shook your head.
“Come and get it yourself.” There was a dangerously playful tone to your invitation which he felt right in the pit of his stomach.
“I’ll need it tomorrow.” Was all he said and you rolled your eyes.
“Of course you do.” You huffed and left his room.
“I do enjoy our interactions.” He called after you and you waved him off before shutting the door behind you. You paused at the steps leading up out of the dungeon and smiled to yourself, unaware that you were sharing that smile with Severus.
-
Bloody Vanderath, why did it have to be so sharp? Such a pain to harvest it’s bark, quite literally but it never bothered you too much, a sharp pang of pain that lasted only a moment and it was over.
Still that wouldn’t stop you from sharing how irritating they were with Severus.
Throwing them down on his desk you sighed and he took a moment to look at them, then take in the scratches on your arms from reaching through the thick bushes to reach the bark at its core.
“I see you ran into a spot of bother.” He raised his brows lazily.
“Do you think it’s funny?” You countered in a surprisingly serious tone which shocked him a little.
“No.” He almost stuttered and you stared with your eyes narrowed for a moment before relaxing your expression.
“Good.” You almost laughed when he released the breath he didn’t know he had held. You’d caught him off guard and scared him and he realised your little game.
“I’ll be needing something else.” He stated and laced his fingers together on his desk.
“And what might that be?” You sighed.
“Root skin.” He spoke after a pause and you knew he was trying to think of something.
“What kind of root skin?” Your tone was laced with a hidden warning and he proceeded almost cautiously.
“Hairthorn.” He waited for your response, almost excited for the ensuing protest.
“I see. Are you free this evening, say in the next hour or so?” You were calm much to his surprise.
“I am.” He responded with instant regret as your eyes lit up and your arm extended out to him.
“Good. Then you’re not too busy to come and get some.” He opened his mouth to protest but you had anticipated it, “I have a lot to do for tonight’s moon.” You waited for his response but he said nothing, only thought about what to do now he was caught in your web. Much like a spider, you had no intention of letting him escape your web either so you reached down and grabbed his hand off the table, giving him no choice on the matter. In fact you practically heaved him out of his chair and to the door and he honestly had no intention of stopping you.
He stood at the entrance to your garden, taking in the beauty of its walled perimeters and the various plants you had growing up and cascading down them. You really had made some sort of haven here.
“I’ve never been here before.” He muttered, still appreciating his surroundings.
“You have, you came here in my first term to let me know what you’d be needing. Back when you were kind enough to give out lists.” You lead him through arches of vines and cascading flowers to the potting shed at the back.
“I didn’t even realise...” His eyes were now fixed on you, watching the fabric around you bounce with each step you took and the how the shrubbery moved around you as you passed through, almost as if it wasn’t physics at all, as if they followed you. He took in the scent of flowers that you had brushed passed and realised that the path you took when you came to see him and all these flowers mixed together was the fragrance he became so familiar with when he was near you. How he wished you still had hold of his hand.
‘Damn’ He thought as he caught himself in the act thinking about such things though he didn’t stop himself. He remained awfully quiet as you pointed out the Hairthorn he needed.
“Don’t pick the younglings.” You waited for him to acknowledge your demand before leaving him to it and going about your business.
He was very distracted just watching you tend to your plants so carefully. Similarly, you were also distracted. Stealing glances his way and smiling to yourself, thinking how nice it was being there in the placed that you loved, with the man that you lov-. Uh oh...
“Have you finished?” You called over as you pulled a large pot out of the shed, noticing that he had stopped.
“I have, yes.” He ran his fingers through the thin, hair like root skins.
“Would you like a sack?” You offered for him to carry them in.
“Yes.” He thought for a moment, not actually wanting to leave, “Would you like some assistance?” He spoke softly now and you watched him carefully, understanding that he wanted to stay but so did you.
