Colouring this was so dang satisfying the lines are so crisp and clean and beautiful🥺 (It's entirely possible that I may or may not have stayed up all night last night colouring and shading this ^^')

hey guys

I'm putting a read-more just in case

but uh

sad post ahead

so I've talked about my family's cat, Cassie, before in one or two previous posts

and I mentioned that she was quite old even then

well

she hasn't been doing well recently

so

uh

...she passed away early this morning.

Cassie was the sweetest, gentlest, most loving kitty in the world.

She was the third cat we'd had, and we had her for by far the longest of the three. Our first cat, Puss, was already old when we found her; our second, Cindel, never got a chance to grow up, let alone grow old. Neither died of natural causes.

Cassie's been with us since I was seven and she was a tiny kitten; she would have been 18 next Wednesday. She lived a long, happy life, always surrounded by people who loved her, and eventually died peacefully of old age in her favourite comfy spot.

We were so, so lucky to have her as long as we did.

Cassie was so friendly and affectionate that anyone who met her immediately fell in love with her, even if they didn't like cats before. She was just so full of love; always rubbing up against people and squinting happily at us so we knew how much she loved us.

Any time we got together to do something as a family—movies, dinners, chats, you name it— she'd be right there with us before we knew it; she loved spending time with her people, just hanging out and being a part of the family.

Even when she got old, she was still super playful. If you had a string or cord (or the shadow of one) or there was even the smallest bit of light reflecting on the floor, she'd chase it around for ages; all you needed was a DVD held at the right angle and you'd have her jumping halfway up the walls.

She didn't even have to do anything to make us laugh though; her goofy little face with no thoughts behind it, her weird funny croaky mrows that sounded like a little old crow—everything about her was so silly and sweet that you couldn't help but be delighted just being around her.

She loved belly rubs more than anything in the world and was always eager to receive them; you could pat her soft little tummy until it felt like your arms were gonna fall of and she'd just keep laying there purring in utter kitty bliss.

She may not have known much, but she always knew how much her people loved her.

She never bit, never scratched.

She was the perfect little angel.

...I'm gonna miss her so much.

This is my Gravity Falls/Steven Universe crossover AU, which I'm tentatively calling the Crystal Falls AU! Not much in the way of definite story yet, but the designs are the important bit; I've been chipping away at these for like two years at least so I'm really glad to finally have them all done and out here ^^'

I'll try to post more about 'em when I have the spoons for it, but in the meantime feel free to shoot me an ask if there's anything you're itching to know ^^

Check this out!! I love these lil' style challenge things, they're such a fun exercise :D

It took me so long to develop a consistent style of my own that I just wanna use it for everything, but I'm so used to drawing fanart on-model that it feels really weird to draw the things I normally would in my own art style; heck, I think for all the GF stuff I draw, this... might have actually been my first time properly drawing them in my style?? That's so weird O-O Definitely gonna have to use it more so I can get more used to it lol
