Domestic Avengers Headcanons: Thor Odinson
OK look, I know this one’s short, but it’s been taking me forever to think of stuff for Thor I just want to be done with it now. I hope you enjoy, tho!
- Thor loves to learn
- He’s curious about everything
- At first when he comes to Midgard, he’s too angry and prideful to learn about the Midgardians
- But after he’s had some time, he quickly realizes how fascinating and different than Asgardians they are
- Once he moves into the Tower, he runs into this neighborhood superhero that calls himself Spider-man
- Thor finds the Man of Spiders fascinating
- They become best friends
- Peter takes Thor on tours of New York
- Every other Saturday they go to Delmars for lunch
- Thor loves Christmas
- All the lights, the traditions, the movies, the festive songs, all the fun activities that come with it, he loves it all
- He helps Tony every year with the annual Stark Industries Christmas party
- He’s not very good at it, but Tony enjoys the company
- Tony and Thor can either get along amazingly or be two rivalling brothers
- They’re the best team during charades, but deadly rivals at Mario Kart
- Clint and Thor are obsessed with junk food
- Its a very unhealthy obsession, but no one stops them
- Their favorites are pop-tarts
- One year the Avengers decide to do a Secret Santa for Christmas
- Clint gets Thor and gives him a giant industrial size of strawberry pop-tarts
- Thor gets Natasha, but he’s not entirely sure what to get her
- He asks Clint, who isn’t much help
- He ends up finding her a pair of pointe shoes after learning she used to like ballet
- Natasha is shocked at first, she can’t figure out where Thor heard about her doing ballet, but she loves the shoes
- Natasha and Thor have a strange brother-sister type relationship
- They love to spar together
- They also like to leave the most random gifts in each other’s rooms
- It started with Natasha finding a keychain with a mini Mjolnir and leaving it on his nightstand
- Thor found it and in return, gave her a small rubber black widow spider
- Thor and Bruce get along almost instantly
- Thor doesn’t understand much about science and all of the things Bruce does in his lab, but he’s fascinated by it
- Bruce has thousands of questions about Asgard, which Thor answers with great surprise
- To him, these answers are common knowledge but to Bruce they’re captivating
- Steve and Thor bond by sparring and telling each other war stories
- Sometimes when they’re having a going through a particularly bad memory from a battle, they find the best way to feel better is either talk it out or spar to get their minds off of it
- They also like to exchange trinkets for Steve’s collection
- Thor realizes Steve’s favorites are the rocks he brings back from Asgard, so for Christmas one year he gives Steve a whole bag of random rocks he’s collected
You have no idea how many people lurk on your work. No idea how many times people go back to revisit your work. How big they smile when they simply think about your work. How fast their heart beats, how excited they get when they see that you posted something.
People are shy with their feedback. Sometimes it’s because they’re simply shy. Other times it’s because they assume you already know how great and talented you are. Could be both.
My point is, even if you barely have any likes or reblogs, don’t get discouraged. You have a lot of silent fans, but they are still your fans. Keep on creating. Because there is always someone out there who will love what you have made.
Does anyone have any tips for getting out of a funk? I have to stay inside cause my parents have COVID so I can’t go to work or anything I can feel my mental health slipping. Anyone have any ideas?
Happy FFWF! What's your favorite piece of dialogue from your latest fic?
Happy (belated) FFWF!
Right now it’s probably from the Comfortember chapter I wrote this morning!
‘That excitement died like a flame doused in water.’
It’s not the full sentence cause the full thing is a bit of a spoiler, but I don’t normally use metaphors or whatever that would qualify as so I’m pretty happy with that😁
I wasn’t tagged by anyone but this looked fun!

what. the fuck. are you doing?
these numbers are even worse when you consider that half of the comments are from the author themselves, thanking the precious few people who took the time to leave them comments. if you are looking at these numbers and not seeing anything wrong, then congratulations! you’re (probably) part of the problem.
“but hey,” I can hear you calling, “I leave the author kudos, what about that!?”
okay. let me be frank with you. a kudos is the press of a button. it takes you less than a second. it is nothing. it is nothing, because it tells the author nothing. (the author tried out a new kink, did you enjoy their take on it? they revealed a plot twist that has been hinted at for a couple of chapters, did you guess at it or were you taken completely by surprise? they wrote a rare pair, had you considered this pairing before? did they maybe even convert you to this ship with their fic? the author tried their hand at a rather sensitive/dark/etc topic, did it resonate with you? the slowburn finally turned into a full on burn, was it worth the wait? was it good for you? so on and so on.)
I’m actually struggling to find a fitting simile here…. a kudos is basically the equivalent of a shoulder shrug and the sound “eh”.
authors spend hours, weeks, months, years working on these fics so you can read and enjoy them. and you’re telling me you don’t even have 5 seconds to tell the author a simple “I enjoyed this, thanks!”? does this free, versatile, free, heart-wrenching, free, mind-blowing, free, seemingly endless well of free escapism mean so little to you?
and yes, in case you’re wondering, the same goes for likes on tumblr. a like tells the creator nothing. a reblog on the other hand is you going, “hey guys, look at this cool art/fic/moodset/mixtape/etc I found!”, and gives the creator a chance at even more feedback on their works! same goes for tags, and of course comments.
I’m not posting this as a writer. I haven’t written a thing in over half a year. this is coming from a fandom grandma who knows how fandom used to be. and who can guess how fandom will be if this ugly trend continues; especially if you continue to leave the stage to antis/haters and trolls. the only voices creators are reliably hearing right now are the negative ones. you reap what you sow, fandom.
no new content in your favourite tags. zero fics for the latest action blockbuster even though the movie has already been out for over a week. abandoned and deleted works. fandoms that shrink and shrink and vanish; maybe long before you ever have the chance to immerse yourself in them.
and it will be nothing less than you deserve.
Happy FFWF! How long does it take you to write a story?
Happy FFWF! It depends on how long the story is usually. There are a couple that I’ve been working on for years cause I either forget it exists or I just don’t have any ideas for it right now, but there’s also been some that have taken me months to finish.
Tfw you can only remember very specific details about this one fic that you really wanna reread but not the title or author or anything. And you cANT FUCKING FIND IT so you’re scrolling angrily through your bookmarks and using every filter you can think of on ao3 and it’s STILL not there so now you’re wondering if it either got deleted or if you just fucking made the entire fic up and it never even existed in the first place
Happy FFWF! What scene in your current wip took the longest to write? What was difficult about it?
Happy FWFF! I haven’t worked on my WIP in a couple days cause I just have a lot going on emotionally, but from the couple chapters that I already have, I would say Penny panic attack in Comfortemebr chapter 3! I wanted to make it as realistic and good as possible so I procrastinated on it a little 😅
It was difficult cause I was trying to figure out how to explain it through Penny’s POV while still making sure my readers would be able to understand what’s happening. It ended up working out though😁
I firmly believe what ever you’re obsessed with at 11/12 years old becomes a core part of who you are, regardless if you lose interest in it or not. Maybe some of you were lucky and were obsessed with warrior cats or smth, and if you’re real unlucky it was probably twilight.
This has probably been done before but I don’t care cause I can’t get it out of my head.
Jess: She giggles uncontrollably when she gets imposter. She’s really bad as the imposter cause she keeps venting in front of people. As a crewmate, she focuses solely on tasks and is super oblivious even if someone kills in front of her.
Nick: At first he hates the game and only does tasks. Even as imposter, he jsut fakes tasks the entire time and accidently gives himself away. As he plays more and more, he gets a little better and becomes really addicted to it but still sticks to mainly doing tasks.
Schmidt: I feel like Schmidt would either be really good at it or really bad at it. I think he would be a really good imposter, but a terrible crewmate. He would just stalk everyone cause he thinks the tasks are boring and end up getting voted off cause he’s creeping people out.
Winston: Hates being imposter. It stresses him out and everyone figures him out quickly cause he sucks at faking tasks. He really likes being a crewmate though and somehow really good at telling who’s lying.
Cece: The best imposter of the group. She could kill someone in front of people and somehow convince the group someone else did it. She always gets accused of being imposter when she’s a crewmate because she likes to hang around the vents in case someone comes out one of them.
Coach: He gets a little too into the game and gets pretty mad at people. Especially when someone (
Cece) convinces the group that he’s the imposter when he isn’t.
I love Nick Miller and Jess Day
tbh i’m here for my boys too, like i’m here for every boy who cried alone, wiping away tears quickly and guiltily, because crying wasn’t “manly”, i’m here for fat boys, skinny boys, boys who rejects hyper-masculinity and are shamed for it, i’m here for every boy who was laughed at in the locker rooms, every boy who loves lipstick and mascara, and every black or brown boy who is afraid to walk home at night because of violence that may come from anywhere in society but is always targeted at him, i’m here for every boy who was told they weren’t boys, i’m here for every conflicted boy who must choose between what he believes is right and what he was raised with, i’m here for every boy who was manipulated by this twisted patriarchy we all exist in and is trying in some way to make things right.
