There are no plushie Bees in the outfits they kissed in, so I drew those myself.

I would have attempted to do the background myself, but I had fic to write. Which I should get back to, I have a chapter to edit and get posted by the end of the day.

Weiss was standing on the dirt road in the wilderness north of the city of Atlas where the battle between her team and Jaune’s had unfolded not all that long ago. The road was ordinarily a lonely place, but at the moment it was a hive of activity. A pair of military airships had landed nearby, and a whole host of Atlesian troops were seeing to various tasks. They were the reinforcements that Winter had promised. Weiss would have preferred them to have arrived during the battle, but she supposed everything had worked out well enough.

Weiss’s hand was gently clutching her stomach where Ren had punched through her aura. Her abdominal muscles were still aching. She hadn’t expected Ren’s fists to pack such a wallop, but he was nothing if not a constant source of surprises. Weiss’s aura was already at work healing her body. While it hurt now, she knew she’d be mostly back to normal by the end of the day.

Weiss glanced down the road and saw Nora and Ren in restraints being escorted toward one of the airships. Jaune, as the ringleader of the group, had already been whisked away back to Atlas on a third airship which had departed the moment he’d been put on board. Weiss had mixed feelings about the thought that she might never see Jaune again. On one hand, she hoped she never would, but on the other, she didn’t feel like she’d gotten proper closure for what Jaune had done to her and her friends. She wasn’t even sure why she felt that way. She’d rescued Ruby. They’d all beaten Jaune and his team in battle. They’d even stopped his quiet reign of terror. What more did she want? She wondered if it was an explanation or an apology that she still craved, but she doubted Jaune had either to give her. And maybe nothing could ever be enough to satisfy her. Maybe she would have to simply accept her victory for what it was. After all, Jaune himself was the perfect example of what happened to someone who couldn’t let go of the past.

I hope your blog sticks around a long time! You’re always a bright spot on my dashboard!

I did want to say for this blog, I don't see much changing. I still love the show, the characters, and the crew who tried their best to give us a show made from passion and love. IF (and it's a big if) it does get sold, and retains the same core crew, it might even be for the better given what we know of the conditions some of the animators have been though with RT. I truly want to believe it will, even though given WB's track record, there's no reason for the belief other than I want it to be true.

I'm thankful for all the friends I have made along the way, and I'll still at least keep a queue going for the foreseeable future.

Concerning the Future

Well I’m sure everyone’s heard the news by now that Rooster Teeth is dead. Given what we’ve heard previously, I can’t say that I’m surprised. RWBY may find a new home, but personally I’m not going to consider that possibility until it actually happens. That being said, I will be continuing to write RWBY fanfiction for the foreseeable future. I have enough ideas to keep me going for at least five years, and that’s not even counting whatever new story ideas I may come up with.

RWBY has become so much more to me than just the show. It’s a conduit for my self-expression, and a way for me to share happiness with others. RWBY now more than ever belongs to its fans, as all dormant franchises do. It lives for as long as we care to keep it alive. I’ll be continuing this amazing journey of mine, and I invite each and every one of you to join me if you want. Change is inevitable, but that doesn’t mean we have to let go of the things we love. Life is but a journey, but ours isn’t at an end just yet.

Gray clouds hung in the sky over the wilderness north of the city of Atlas, muting the midday sun. There was a chill in the air and patches of frost on the ground. Winter had unquestionably arrived. Jaune was hiking down a dirt road that cut through a forest of pine trees. Ren and Nora were by his side. From all outward appearances the three of them were just another band of travelers forging their way through to the more remote parts of the kingdom. However, Jaune of all people knew that looks could be deceiving.

It had been over a day since Jaune and his team had fled Atlas, the city at least, and there had been no sign of pursuit so far. However, Jaune still felt incredibly nervous. He really wished he’d been able to get his hands on a car or some other kind of vehicle, but unfortunately, that wouldn’t have been a smart idea. A vehicle would’ve been much easier to track than three people on foot.

Jaune glanced over his shoulder for what seemed like the tenth time in as many minutes. The road he’d chosen wasn’t highly traveled, even in the summer, and as expected, there was no one else to be seen. However, when Jaune turned back, he noticed that Ren was eyeing him conspicuously.

Jaune said, “Everything’s going to be okay, Ren.”

Ren didn’t say anything, but as always, his silence spoke volumes.

“We’ll stay up north long enough for things to blow over,” Jaune said. “Then we can go back to the city and catch a boat to Vale or Mistral. It’ll be fine. You’ll see.”
