Thinking of ways to make Christmas a bit more environmentally friendly this year... I’ll have my in-laws over for the week, and we’re doing a formal dinner on Christmas Day. I’m planning on wrapping the last of our gifts for them in cloth and other reusable materials, but beyond that, I’m not sure what else to do. Any ideas for reducing waste while cooking dinner or entertaining for the few days after Christmas are welcome!

I used to be in charge of beach cleanups for my state & did them multiple times a week! They’re a great way to get involved directly in helping the marine environment & can be done alone or with a group of virtually any size. Have you done a beach cleanup before?

Happy World Wildlife Day! This year’s global theme is big cats: tigers like Tia above, along with lions, leopards, cheetahs, and jaguars are all under threat. These predators may not seem close to home, but chances are that there’s an attraction near you with these animals on display. Help their species by supporting organizations with ethical captivity practices that support conservation of all wild big cats. Always avoid businesses that enable direct contact with these animals, even if they are babies - these businesses exploit these beautiful animals for profit and have even been found to keep their cubs malnourished so they stay small longer. With the world’s largest number of tigers actually residing in captivity in the US and not in the wild, your choices of where to spend your money make a difference. Visit the UN’s World Wildlife Day webpage for more info. 🐯
🦋 What kinds of adaptations would you give to your animals? Swipe 👉 to see a few examples! 🌎 🦏 How about making TINY RHINOS that love to eat up everything opportunistically and live in a colony in the desert? 🙊 🌎 🦅 Maybe you’ll make a 🐳-SIZED EAGLE that’s covered in fur and lives in the arctic! 🌍 🐸 Or challenge yourself to use only realistic adaptions like a SMALL FROG that communicates through croaks, lays eggs, and lives in the rainforest! 🌎 Link in bio!
