One of The Largest Whale Carcasses Ever Found Has Washed Up in Italy

The carcass of an enormous finback whale (Balaenoptera physalus) was discovered near the Italian port of Sorrento earlier this week, the Italian Coast Guard said in a Facebook post.

I want to share this selection of cute illustrations I made for a Romanian children’s book at the end of last year.

The book’s title is “Tase - Privighetoarea din adancuri” ( roughly translated: Tase - the nightingale of the deep”).

Whale it must be time to eat! 

Check out this hungry humpback whale in Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary breaking the surface with an open mouth. These whales filter-feed on small crustaceans and small fish, consuming up to 2,000 pounds of food per day. Sounds like there’s always room for dessert!

I just wanna move to the coast and spend my days by the shore until I happen upon a boy who takes me on his boat to whale watch and listen to their cries beneath the surface and just fall asleep under the stars to the sounds of earths most majestic creatures.
