I've been doing some thinking about classic FAHC and I've been binging Leverage and I just wanted to sort of share my redefined ideas about the roles people have on the crew. It's much more blended than the original fahc where everyone had distinct roles. In the "new" FAHC: Geoff has sort of taken a back seat. He's around and still 100% has his fingers in the pie but Trevor is now the Mastermind of the organization. It's him who really plans the heists and really sits down to work them out. Trevor is also partially a frontman and mainly (in my head), their Thief. I see him in a pair of leather gloves to cover his (metaphorically) sticky fingers, smoothly talking to someone or stealing a keycard from their pockets. He's just as comfortable in the vents as he is directing the crew. Ky is also a huge protege with Trevor, working hard in the background to learn the job of the mastermind and producing a heist from start to finish.

Jack is still in the crew, of course, but has sort of taken a bit of a step back with Geoff. She's there to drive the getaway car but has left the more dangerous pieces with the younger crew, although she's still on hand to patch them up when they get themselves into Situations. She's the Getaway Driver and the Medic.

Michael is sort of the Head Dog in the Hitter pack, which encompasses Joe and Alfredo as well. Michael's a hands-on Brawler, down to fight, but also enjoys teaching the other two. Joe is also a Brawler, just gets in there, but Alfredo is sort adjacent as their Sniper. He's better from a distance, a sharp-shooter, although with Michael's influence he can get a bit fighty up front (where Trevor has to drag him back to the plan). What surprises them is how much Ky gets involved in the physical parts of the crew and how she ain't afraid to throw a punch. Of course, when needed, they can always count on Lil J to throw up and wreck shop when he's in town.

Gavin is their frontman and is their Grifter. He's the one that runs the longer cons, the one who can wear a million hats and pivot on a dime to charm even the most reluctant of Marks. He's left the hacking mainly to Matt, who acts as the main crew Hacker. He not only manages the basic hacking but is good with gadgets. BK also focuses mainly on being a secondary Grifter, providing the feminine energy to Gavin. The two can make a very deadly pair when set on crews together. BK is also a pretty powerful sharpshooter when she needs to be.

The thing about Lindsay is that they are truly still, as always, the Wildcard. Lindsay will brawl when they need to, they will grift and be incredible at it, putting on any voice and nailing it. They are very good at planning heists (especially when they need the element of surprise) and really can fit in any role. Ace of Spades, they are.

For almost 3 years the crew doesn't know when Matt's birthday is. This is solely because he never brought it up and sometimes the crew thinks he might have sprouted, fully formed, in front of a computer monitor roughly ten years ago. He didn't. He does in fact have a birthday.

When the crew finally realizes this, Trevor takes one for the team in trying to figure it out. He makes a point to bring it up all nonchalantly, 'yeah, Lindsay says you do that because you're a Virg-....Aquari-... Gemini?' complete with arched eyebrows and wide eyes.

And Matt's an observant guy, yeah, but more so when it comes to patterns in bank transactions or when the local donut shop has his favorite donuts available. People, even friends, are another story entirely. So he just shrugs. 'what does me being a Gemini have to do with liking mustard on a hot dog?'

But Trevor doesn't have an answer for that, of course, because it was bullshit to begin with. Instead he mumbles something about stars and time and relish, scurries off to tell Jeremy what he's learned. Which isn't much, sure, but at least they've got a window now.

The entire crew spends a ridiculous amount of time dropping opinions on May and June dates. 'yeah I'd hate to be born on June 2nd. Wouldn't you, Matt?' and 'May 27th is my favorite date for sure. What's yours, Matt?' and 'i've never met someone with the same birthday as me, May 23rd. Have you, Matt?'

And again, yeah, Matt's an observant guy. Most people, in fact, are probably observant enough to notice when an entire group of criminals act really fucking weird about the calendar. But again, Matt's observant about things like tiny movements on camera feeds or that there's not extra onion on this burger, actually. So he shrugs and says 'yeah I knew someone growing up who was June 6th. We used to argue about who could have a party. I always lost.' like this isn't information the entire crew has been fishing for over the last month. They probably could have asked outright and Matt wouldn't have cared.

It's honestly kind of annoying.

The week his birthday rolls around again, they go all out. Big ass fucking party, invite everyone they can think of. Every old friend not turned enemy, crews they've talked about working with but never got around to, minor celebrities they know Matt will get a kick out of toasting in his honor. It might actually be the biggest party or event or goddamn crowd Los Santos has ever seen. All there for Matt. All celebrating this guy most people have never seen.

It's a kickass time. Matt gets hoisted up and sung to, then Michael, then Fiona, then someone Matt is sure he's never met. 'It's a cover.' Jeremy drunkenly yells in his ear. 'So no one knows who's really you.' It's a sentence that's not quite right, but Matt appreciates the sentiment. It's also probably not even accurate, given that he was the first up and they've made him cut a cake on a stage, for some godforsaken reason. It's the thought that counts, though.

All in all, Matt thinks it might be the most fun he has ever had.

Two days later, on his actual birthday, it's almost the complete opposite. In terms of scale, at least. It's just the crew, up in the old penthouse Geoff swore he'd sold. He hadn't, of course. Never could bring himself to pull the trigger on it.

It's pizza and beer and donuts and cupcakes. It's Mario Kart and Ultimate Chicken Horse and a game of Monopoly that's played in teams, somehow. It's stories that reach all the way back to an alleyway, three idiots pointing guns at each other because they had no idea what they would become, what they'd join into. Jeremy says they were 'pretty sure Matt had never held a fucking gun before that' and Trevor agrees wholeheartedly.

They try to pick their favorite 'Matt's playing music over the loud speakers during a fucking bank robbery' song. It's a tie between Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go ('because i knocked out that fuckin' guard and he thought it was funny!' Michael yells. 'who the fuck thinks of that?' and Call Me Maybe ('because god forbid i take one breath before I answer him. I wasn't even in the bank, i was across the fucking street playing lookout! I only heard it through somebody's earpiece.' Alfredo says, rolling his eyes.)

When the night winds down, and it's no longer Matt's birthday but they're still pretending it is, Jack brings out an apple with a candle stuck in it and Geoff cries with laughter. 'you're getting older, Matt, you gotta eat more fruit.' she says. Matt argues that he does eat fruit, he had a lemon lime flavored cupcake at the party.

There's one whole serious moment during all of it. Things get quiet, Geoff not quite meeting anyone's eyes. 'y'know, Matt, we all make a lot of jokes. We call you an asshole, tell you we hate the plans you make. I don't know how many times I've said I regret hiring you, or any of you, really. And, uh, yeah, sometimes it's true.' It earns him a chuckle from around the room, and he clears his throat. 'but seriously, you're, uh, you're one of the best fuckin people I know. All of you are. And we're lucky to have you. We love you, man.'

Nobody cries, because this is a group of hardened criminals who rob banks and blow up buildings and kill people, sometimes, so of course they don't fucking cry. They do, however, somehow all find themselves with a serious case of the sniffles, all wipe totally non existent tears from their cheeks.

No one says anything, for a long moment, not even Matt. He should be saying thank you, or telling them how much he loves them too, or hell, even cracking a joke. He can't seem to find the words, though.

Jack holds up her beer. 'to Matt.' she says. Around the room, various drinks go up almost immediately, and there's a not even close to in sync chorus of 'to Matt.'

No, tonight is not nearly as grand or extravagant as the party two days ago. There are no expensive cars being raced, no crowds of people shouting 'Axial!', no stages or celebrities or fireworks. This is just his family, together.

It is the best birthday he's ever had.

Achievement Hunter but make it MCC

Tried to emulate the MCC style as close as possible but I feel like I can still improve (also I love how they shade the hair, might use it in my own art in the future)

Tbh I do think that with a bit of training they could have a chance (*insert training montage a la A Good Omen *)

Two teams because I couldn't choose: first one has Lindsay in their role as the Wildcard because if they can't win might as well cause as much chaos as possible; second one has Fredo because in Race for the Wool he was actually a pretty good shot? I know he was a professional player, but he usually goofs around in minecraft so it caught me off guard.

The Fakes were having a movie night, and it had been dubbed a Mandatory Event. 

Geoff had been very excited for the event, insisting that there were no good excuses to miss it, including Jeremy and Ryan's previously made plans. So they had grumbled and shown up to see Gavin and Michael giggling to themselves about which movies they wanted to watch. The announcement by Michael that they were going to be watching horror movies only, came once everyone was seated on a couch. Geoff groaned, grumbling about how he should have known and Alfredo stood up like he was going to walk out.   "Oh no, not me." He said. Immediately, Fiona grabbed his arm. "No way, if I have to watch these, so do you." "Can't we just watch something else, like, I don't know, literally anything not a horror movie?" Geoff grumbled. "No, it's October bitch! Get with the Halloween spirit. Gav, you pick the first one." Michael tossed the remote to Gavin and sat back down beside Lindsay. Beside Jeremy, Ryan was suddenly grinning widely, apparently no longer bothered about their change of plans. Jeremy eyed him warily. "What's got you so excited?" He asked. "Me?" Ryan tried to fake a tone of innocence and really, for someone who was so dramatic, he should probably be better at acting. "Yes you." "How many horror movies have you seen Jeremy?" Ryan asked, still grinning. "I dunno, some?" Jeremy shrugged. "But they aren't that scary. I'm not Mr. Fraidy-cat over there." Ryan nodded and slipped his arm around Jeremy's shoulder, both of them ignoring Alfredo’s defence of himself. "Well, this should be fun then." "Yeah...see I thought so too, until you said that." After a second Jeremy gave up on staring at Ryan and let himself be pulled against his shoulder. Jeremy was right, the movies themselves weren't particularly scary. Actually, they were pretty funny to watch as a group, with half the room jumping and screaming every time the music changed. What was a problem, was how Ryan kept tensing up like he was going to do something but every time Jeremy looked over he just had a little grin on his face. They were on the third movie, and this one had a lot of jump scares, and Jeremy had to admit the music was well-chosen. Alfredo and Geoff kept screaming each time something moved on the screen, and alright, Jeremy was a little keyed up too, but he blamed Ryan and his weird tension all night for that more than the movie. Jeremy had leaned forward, watching the screen intently, then just as the music jumped on screen, something grabbed him! Jeremy yelled and launched himself off the couch, whacking his leg against the coffee table hard and tipping a bowl of popcorn. He looked behind him to see Ryan doubled over laughing and everyone else staring at him. Ryan's laughter started catching and Jeremy's face flushed bright red. He was glad for the dimmed lights. "All good there, Jeremy?" Michael chuckled and Jeremy flipped him off. "You're an asshole." Jeremy grumbled as he sat back on the couch and shoved Ryan hard against the arm. After a couple moments of laughter, even by the ones who'd been screaming all night which Jeremy though was particularly uncalled for (he'd only laughed a little bit at their screaming), they finally started the movie again. Ryan tried to slip his arm around Jeremy's shoulder but Jeremy shoved him again. "What?" Ryan asked quietly. "You're an asshole." Jeremy repeated, giving him a mock glare. "You already knew that, we've been laughing at the others screaming all night." Ryan said with a shrug. "And that didn't stop you before." "Yeah well, before you weren't being an asshole to me. Now, you have to suffer the consequences of your actions." "Aw, Jeremy, come on, I'll make it up to you?" Ryan said, giving him puppy-dog eyes that really should not work knowing what Ryan did for a living. Jeremy tried to keep up the glare but it was a losing battle. "Fine." He decided. "You can start by making me now popcorn because you made me spill mine." "Alright." Ryan agreed way too easily and stood up. Jeremy narrowed his eyes at him again. "And if there's anything in it, or you scare me again, you can bet you're not getting within touching distance of me for the rest of the month!" Ryan visibly deflated but scooped up the bowl off the floor anyways as he headed out of the room.
