no offence but there is literally nothing morally wrong with cheating on tests/at school… it’s up there with piracy on the list of Crimes Everyone Is Convinced Are Wrong And Harmful But If You Actually Think About Them For 12 Seconds It’s Fine And You Definitely Should Commit Them At Some Point

“Translation is activism because it involves bringing one culture into another. As a reader, poet, and translator I operate under the assumption that cultures can benefit from contact with other worldviews. As translators we extend bridges between cultures. Translation is very similar to migration: diversity helps whatever community receives migrants. It’s not just the literary community that benefits, but the language itself and the way we think do as well. When someone reads something from a different culture, in a different language, they think of different possibilities. Reading different ways of expression, which are tied to underlying beliefs and values, opens opportunities.”

How to Know The German Article
Since there are three different articles in German it might be hard to remember every noun’s gender by heart. So today we’ll look at a few indicators that can reveal it before you even know what the word itself means.
A good thing to know is that the majority of German nouns only have one article. Though some things, like different workers, have either “der” or “die” depending on the person’s pronouns.
Ex. Der Künstler — the artist (masculine) Die Künstlerin — the artist (feminine)
Der Arzt — the doctor (masculine) Die Ärztin — the doctor (feminine)
And in some cases a noun has more than one gender because it is a loan word and was never granted a specific gender. Like for example: der Laptop, das Laptop. Both “der” and “das” are valid to use when talking about a laptop.
But like I said; this is only for some nouns, a minority. The majority have only one of the three articles. And in fact, 46% of those are feminine. You heard me right. 34% of them are masculine, and only 20% use the neutral article.
This means that if you’re unsure, take a chance at either feminine or masculine. But let’s look at the actual rules for finding out the gender. (Be aware that there are always exceptions, but it is better to assume the rules apply to a word than to feel hesitant. You will learn the exceptions as you go along.)
How to recognize feminine
If the noun has any of these endings it is, the very majority of the time, feminine: -ei -anz -enz -heit -keit -ie -ik -ion -ität -schaft -ung -ur
How to recognize masculine
If the noun has any of these endings it is, the very majority of the time, masculine:  -ant -ent -ich -ling -er (not always masculine) -ismus  -ist -or
Weekdays, months, most alcoholic beverages, weather elements, and directions (north, south, east, west) are all also masculine.
How to recognize neuter
If the noun has any of these endings it is, the very majority of the time, neuter:  -lein and -chen (both diminutive) -ment -um -ma (not always neuter)
Verbs who are made into nouns and most metals are also neuter, ex. das Leben, das Schwimmen, and, das Silber, das Geld.
As well as most nouns beginning with “Ge-”, ex. das Gebäude, are neuter.

If you could pick an academic field to study out of sheer interest and not the bludgeoning despair of trying to survive capitalism, what would it be? I’d definitely definitely!! do astrophysics.

Insert “I do that too” vine!! My habits are pretty similar:
change my firefox theme to another colour and finding the best add-ons
drink tea and have a bottle of water at hand (not a glass, runs empty too fast and then I forget to refill it so it defeats the purpose)
sit backwards in the chair so my chest is resting on the back piece (no more upper back pain!)
I use Todoist for my to-do lists (always open in a tab) and every time a thought bothers me I’ll make a task of it for later
Japanese Lo-Fi songs, or rock/metal playlists
fidget fidget fidget (pens, hairclips or your personal fidget, I like knotted threads and fabrics)
experimenting with my note taking (I’m trying Notion, OneNote and paper notes to see which one works best)
walk around during the breaks instead of sitting at the computer opening *hum* Tumblr
random things I do to fool my brain into staying interested during online study
changing my chrome cursor into something cute like a strawberry
changing my chrome theme to a wacky colour
adding stickers onto my laptop
listening to new music in a language I don’t know
or hyped video game music for energy
buying a fidget toy. like deadass I had my doubts but they’re so good
using the web paint extension while in meetings or lectures
changing the appearance of whatever note taking app you use
for epic gamers with light-up keyboards, changing the light’s colour settings
having a very hot or very cold drink
putting said drink directly under my face when working and using a straw, so I don’t forget it’s there and don’t have to move my head much to sip
hav u eaten or drank anything today hey hello it’s already midday
sparkling water perchance?? it’s water but it’s fun and interesting
ambient fireplace 10 hours loop
alternatively, death metal hardcore bass boosted.mp3
putting on a ridiculous outfit and pretending you’re a wizard doing important work. I have given up on being “put together” at this stage
getting up and having scheduled dance breaks to move around
don’t like your chair? are u gay and can’t sit normal? try arranging pillows and boxes to make a diy cross-legged chair or sit on the floor
u kno when you get a million ideas during studying but u don’t want to break focus: hey siri okay google alexa remind me in a sec about this very specific thing that just couldn’t wait 10 more minutes to force itself into brain
giving up. lmao sometimes you genuinely need a break and nothing you do will make your brain focus so don’t feel guilty for needing rest! it’s technically more productive to spend the time resting and recharging than forcing yourself to half assedly focus and get nothing done
tl;dr- changing appearances of devices often for Spice, having small snacks and various drinks, hype music for energy, any and all fidget toys, knowing when to give up

honestly I’m surprised that no one in the language community has created a tumblr where people can send in recipes from their country/region/etc. not to be lame as fuck but food is such a connecting force and can tell you a lot about the culture/people/language and it’s also nice to see similarities in meals and try new things.
