you only smiled lightly while getting up to get utensils.

oh god, was he going to kiss you? you were a wide-eyed mess, unable to speak coherently because of your malfunctioning brain

until he suddenly wiped the ice cream off with his finger and licked it clean

your jaw dropped, “shisui! what the hell?”

he only laughed as you hit him on his arm, “are you disappointed?”

you sputtered at this, pointing a finger to his chest, face burning hot from embarrassment, “h-huh? what’s that supposed to mean?”

“nothing really. well i guess it was in reference to this.”

“to wha-” before you could even utter the last letter, you were interrupted by shisui pressing his soft lips to your own

you were frozen, unable to move and comprehend what was happening before shisui pulled away with a small smile

“you know, usually you’re supposed to kiss back.”

your jaw dropped at this, lips sputtering before finally stringing a sentence comprehensible enough, “y-you just kissed me!”

“yeah, usually you do that to the person you like.”

the white of your eyes became more visible as you widened them, your heart pounding in shock

“you like me?”

he gave a small smile before nodding, pushing a strand of your hair behind your ear before gazing into your eyes with such a loving look that was almost capable of suffocating you

“yeah, i have for a long time.”

“but what about your ex?”

he sighed, “can’t say that what we had was very serious, we rarely saw each other because of my missions. i reckon that she had enough of it and took matters into her own hands. not complaining though. look... i’ve liked you for quite some time and i can promise you that you’re not a rebound. i just... needed to take my mind off of you because of how crazy you drive me sometimes. you’re always on my mind and itachi suggested that i try to date someone for a change. of course, it didn’t go well because she wasn’t you. i only want to be with you.”

his words slowly turned into whispers as he pressed his forehead against your own, weighing your reaction to his sudden confession.

“i-i like you too! kind of pissed at itachi for suggesting that you date someone else though...” you trailed off

he chuckled and wrapped you in a hug, “or maybe this was his plan all along.”

after a minute you suddenly pulled away from the hug, looking at shisui expectantly

“If I may, I would like to please ask for a matchup with someone from bnha. I tend to be a very quiet person in general, but I brighten up a LOT once I trust someone. Despite my being a writer, I have a hard time explaining myself as a person sometimes. he knew he was a good shinobi, and wore his scars proudly on most days. after all, they showed his survival story. but on days like this where he saw how effortlessly beautiful and perfect you were, he felt that you deserved someone as beautiful as you.

a pair of dark orbs watched you read on the couch with one of your hands resting on the arm of the chair, the other held up the book. your face held a nonchalant look as you read the book, completely immersed by the words in front of you. occasionally he’d see a hint of a smile splayed on your lips as you read. obito felt himself smile watching your pretty face smile as well.

he tore his eyes away from your figure, instead settling on staring up at the white ceiling. a sigh escaped his lips as he continued thinking about his insecurities. unbeknownst to him, his sigh brought your attention towards him, your head tilting in curiosity as to why your boyfriend seemed down.

“obito, are you okay? you seem upset.” your sweet voice broke him from his trance, and he turned his head to meet your pretty e/c that seemed to hold stars. fuck, you were too gorgeous.

his eyes never left your face while replying back, “no, i’m just thinking.” he said as he shot a small smile that held too much sadness for your liking.

“that’s where the problem always starts, with you overthinking about something trivial.” you joked as you put your book down onto the arm of the couch. you crawled over towards obito and sat next to him, laying your head on his shoulder while you held his hand.

his lips quirked into an amused smile at the playful quip. he turned his head to kiss the crown of your head before laying his on head on top of the pile of h/c tresses. he closed his eyes, focused on the feeling of your soft hand in his. subconsciously rubbing your hand with his calloused thumb, he sighed once again before speaking up, “i just feel like- nevermind.”

this made you quirk an eyebrow as you lifted your head to meet his eyes. even with no sharingan, you had no problem hypnotizing him with your eyes. they seemed to be concerned as they stated obito down.

“what do you mean?” you said softly.

obito watched your face before bringing up a hand to your cheek. softly thumbing the soft s/c on your slightly flushed cheek, he came closer to your face, landing a chaste kiss to your lips. when your face was graced by a slight blush he smiled to himself. dropping his hand down to find your hand, he grasped the much smaller hand with his calloused ones. bringing your hand up to his lips, he laid another quick kiss onto the soft skin before finally speaking.

“you’re so beautiful...” he mumbled as he continued to make eye contact with you.

“don’t change the subject obito, tell me what’s wrong... i don’t like seeing you upset.” you said with a slight pout that made his heart skip a beat.

he contemplated his words carefully while turning his head to look up at the ceiling once more, dropping your hand in the process.

“... it’s not necessarily a different subject matter... lately i’ve been feeling like i’m not good enough for you i guess. you’re so beautiful and perfect and i’m just me. a man physically scarred for life. i can’t help but feel like you deserve someone better. someone who’s not as insecure as i am. someone who’s not permanently stamped with these ugly marks. i-i’m sorry y/n i just-“ obito found himself to be interrupted by none other than you.

he looked down to find you tightly hugging his body, your head tucked snugly into the crook of his neck. he could feel your breathing on his neck which sent shivers down his body. he was surprised to say the least, you hugged him out of nowhere after all.

“obito, don’t you dare talk like that.” he felt your lips whisper against his collarbone.

slowly parting from his body, you met his eyes. he felt his own eyes widen when he saw the small tears in your eyes forming. before he could ask why you were crying you interrupted once again.

“i’m kind of pissed at you for thinking like that. i can’t believe you think you’re not good enough for me. you’re such an amazing person. you’re so kind, thoughtful, sweet, strong, and caring i just find myself falling for you harder with every passing day. every act of kindness you do for me never ceases to make my heart flutter. i really don’t think any other man could make my heart flutter by making me a sandwich. my heart is yours, and it will never stop being yours. obito i- how can you not see how attractive you are? baby, you’re so beautiful. your scars show that you’re a survivor. i wouldn’t want you without them, they’re apart of you. and i love all of you. i know this all sounds cheesy or whatever- but i’m astonished to know that you think so low of yourself! you’re so perfect to me that sometimes i find myself not believing you’re real. i just love you so so so much, i don’t want you to feel this way. obito, i love you so much, i hate that you’re feeling this way.” you finished with a whisper.

obito stared at you for a moment before he brought his hand up to wipe the tear that escaped your eye. holding your face close to yours so that your foreheads were touching he chuckled, “someone thinks highly of me.”

you sniffled a bit before rolling your eyes with a small smile, “your fault for being so perfect.”

he smiled at this for a bit before brushing his lips against yours, mumbling, “thank you for loving all of me.”

you only kissed him in reply.
