I’m so hype that I have them—like I started ugly crying when they came in.

All my childhood trauma, gone.

A good friend of mine gifted me this lovely couple because she knows they’re my fav—that an I have terrible luck with Mattel drops lol.

I’m over the moon with them and I think they’re absolutely beautiful.

Guess who found a genuine Franken-doll out in the wild? Me!

It was crazy! I was at the thrift with my dad, when I saw her wrapped in plastic at the bottom of a bin.

Obvi. I freaked out because I knew her head was 1968 “Hair Fair” Barbie’s and she was marked at $2.

So I forewent my usual inspection, opting to just run to the counter and buy her in my excitement.

It was only when I got home and removed her clothes to clean her that I realized that she was not on the right body.

So now I’m on the hunt for her OG body and a head to go with the one she’s on right now. The body she currently occupies is older than her—so I was thinking about trying to find like a bubble-cut head or an “American Girl” head.

If anyone has any leads, please share!

“Ballerina Blues” Pt. 1

Eeeee!! I’m super excited because I’m finally getting to work on a project that’s been on my mind for months now!!

I’ve had the 70’s Ballerina Barbie on hold for me at an antique mall for a while—-and today, I finally got to go get her!!

While I was super stoked, I feel honestly very mislead about the actual condition of this Barbie. But this goes for all the Barbie’s I have purchased from this same seller.

He told me that all she needed was a good bath—which is a vast understatement. Her legs were filthy, her body is covered in strange, dark yellow stains, and she had an old rubber band fused to her hair.

I’m not a novice to rubber bands fusing with doll hair, so that part of the cleanup was a cinch. And her legs, after a good scrub with a tooth brush covered in baking soda goo, cleaned up rather nicely.

Although I have had no luck with the dark yellow stains on her body. There’s a little discoloration on her chest that I will have to deal with, but that shouldn’t be a problem.

While making this post I’m waiting for her hair to dry—hopefully I can get the stains and such sorted out tomorrow.

I will try and document as much as I can.
