So Fox News ran a story about how they think libraries are turning into drug-infested sex dens and I am shocked, shocked that I was never offered any drugs during my 15+ years working in libraries.

the idea of public restrooms as "women's spaces" continues to confound me. you know who I hope is in a public bathroom when I go in?? no one. I would prefer no one else be in the bathroom. and if someone else is in the bathroom I am going to ignore them as much as possible. I did not go into the bathroom to connect with other women. I went into the bathroom to piss and/or shit. it's a toilet's space, not a women's space. shut the fuck up and let trans people piss and shit in peace. let's all continue to avoid eye contact with each other and any and all interaction in the toilet's space.

Every time I advocate for voting people are like "no you shouldn't vote! Read this literature, it'll totally change the way you view voting!" And every single time it's the same fucking "you shouldn't vote because both parties are exactly the same so it won't make a difference who wins" bullshit wrapped up in some fancy language

#One thing this anti-voting narrative does is scream to me that it’s fundamentally backed by America’s culturally protestant values #this idea that you shouldn’t vote #shouldn’t participate in an evil system #and instead should just wait for the one true savior #the politician or revolutionary that is going to come down and fix all of our problems #and trying to change the system gradually and without the savior is pointless #because only He can fix the system #screams of American protestanism to me #like #i know that I am just one voice screaming against the masses #and i cant save everyone #fix everything #but if my vote can save one life #add one more fraction of a percentage for a politician that at the bare minimum isn’t actively gunning for more genocide #then by not voting #i am being complicit in the side of genocide #revolution doesn’t happen overnight #and no one man will save us all by himself #but what I can do right now to fight against genocide and this terrible system we have #is to let my voice be heard that I do not support genocide by voting

I think that one of the hardest things about school as someone with perfectionism issues and imposter syndrome is that its so hard to engage with your class because you are so worried about sounding stupid that you don’t talk. You procrastinate on your discussion posts, don’t participate in class etc. etc. all because you are so scared of looking stupid and like you don’t belong, that you never give yourself the opportunity to show that you do belong. You have so many thoughts and ideas in your head, but you keep them to yourself to save yourself from imaginary embarrassment that will never come if you just speak out and say your piece.
