The summer sun beat down on you, the warmth and welcoming sensation engulfing your body. It was one of the hottest days of the year, but you stayed in the shade because of the ice cream booth you worked at. Whenever the heat increased, your business would overflow with people looking for relief from the sun. Additionally, your small booth was in between two of the biggest summer hangouts: the skatepark and the beach. Today you found yourself especially busy, barely getting a break between customers.
“Two scoops with a wafer cone, right?” You asked.
The girl who orders responded, “Yup!”
“That will be $3.89.”
She handed you the money with a smile, trading it for the wafer cone in your hand. You waved to her saying a polite, “have a nice day,” as she turned and walked down the street, towards a group of friends that already ordered. You saw that no other customers were in sight in that moment, so you took a second to stretch your weary muscles. Standing in the same position the whole day didn’t do your body favors.
When you walked back to your original spot, you spotted a familiar face coming up to your booth. You recognized him as Han Jisung, your former classmate—and known fuckboy.
In high school, he was undoubtably popular. He had friends from all around the school, not to mention the groups of girls surrounding him at all times, fawning over his every word. He knew his way with words, and his flirtatious attitude added to that. Plus, his list of relationships could span a mile long. It seemed like every week, there was another girl hooked onto his side. Not only was he popular in school, but everyone in town that knew him liked him. He was a skater and spent the majority of his time at the skatepark. Which explains why he was heading towards your booth on his skateboard.
You were one of the few people that saw him as annoying. You could see through his act. He tried to act tough, tried to impress people, and he constantly flaunted his skating abilities. But, you just didn’t see the appeal. In school, you were too busy studying to care about guys, let alone some cocky skateboarder that had a new girlfriend every other day.
As Jisung rode closer to your booth, you noted his attire. He had checkered vans, swim shorts and no shirt. It was normal for guys not to have their shirt on in this weather, especially with the beach right beside you. However, that didn’t stop you from scoffing when a few girls beside your booth began not-so-subtly pointing to him and giggling.
You could admit, he had a nice body. He was toned, muscles present throughout his whole torso. You could understand why so many people found him attractive. Although, once he got closer and the asphalt became smoother, he did a swift kickflip. He landed smoothly, before swerving towards the front of your booth. His cocky attitude immediately made you take back everything, his attractiveness becoming nonexistent in the shade of his ego.
He jumped off his board, popping it into his hand with a grin. He ran his fingers through his hair as he stepped up to the counter, leaning against it slowly.
“What can I get for you?” You asked politely, using your polite working voice.
He raised an eyebrow, “Come on, Y/N, we’ve known each other for years. I don’t even get a proper greeting?” He asked it teasingly, to which you sighed.
“I wouldn’t exactly call seeing each other in class and never talking for four years straight ‘knowing’ each other.” You replied, to which he let out a small huff of air.
“Fair enough, I guess.” He shrugged.
“So, what can I get for you?” You asked again, hoping to end this conversation as soon as possible. He looked over the choices, biting his bottom lip softly.
“Can I have a sample?”
You nodded, “Of what?”
“You.”
You looked at him with brows furrowed, “No.”
“Ah, come on, you can’t take a little teasing, babe?”
“I’m going to give you two options, order your ice cream now or leave the booth immediately.”
He was flustered, cheeks growing red at being turned down twice in a row. He was used to girls melting every time he talked to them, so the shut-down was embarrassing for him. He cleared his throat, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.
“Umm…I’ll have…I’ll have a vanilla cone.” He stuttered, to which you gave it to him as quickly as possible. He handed you the money and walked off. You saw him walk to his group of friends, who immediately started teasing him for the interaction. They emphasized how you turned him down, causing a grin to grow on your face.
~~~
Two weeks in a row.
Every single day for two weeks in a row, Jisung has come to see you at the booth. Every single time he would have a new set of flirtatious comments, it was relentless. He never took the hint. You were obviously uninterested, but he wasn’t giving up any time soon. Luckily though, today you got off of your shift early, and you promised your best friend you would meet. Unluckily, you wanted to avoid the place he wanted to meet at.
The skate park.
The park itself was really nice, all the people were usually great. The only exception was Jisung, who you hoped wouldn’t be there when you went to see your friend, Felix.
You opened the fence that led into the park, watching as skaters rode around and did tricks at the large park. Your eyes immediately landed on Felix, watching as he made eye contact before skating towards you. He went up the ramp that led to you, stepping off his board as he reached the top. He flipped it into his hand, before engulfing you in a hug.
“Hey, how was work?” He greeted happily.
“It was boring but fine. How was skating?” You asked.
He shrugged, “Great, as always.”
You were about to respond when the sound of a board coming closer became present. Soon enough, Jisung was standing at the entrance as well, right beside you and Felix. He cocked his head to the side, watching you curiously.
“Felix, come on, can’t you stay for a bit longer.”
Felix raised a brow, glancing between Jisung and you, hinting that he had other plans.
“Y/N? What are you doing here?” He inquired, pretending that he hadn’t noticed you before.
“None of your business.”
Felix let out a muffled chuckle, finding amusement in your annoyance. “She’s here to pick me up, mate. We’ve got plans.”
Jisung nodded, watching as Felix threw his arm over your shoulders. “Oh, are you guys…like…a thing?” His question was awkward, and he seemed nervous. You almost felt bad…almost.
“Best friends, actually.” Felix stated.
“That’s cool!”
The silence was unbearably awkward.
But Jisung continued, “What are you guys doing, then?”
“Going to my place, somewhere you’ll never see.” You said with an innocent grin.
Felix looked back and forth, watching the tension build before saying, “Would you look at the time, we’ve got to go!” Then Felix was dragging you away without another word to Jisung. You smiled at your best friend, thankful you didn’t have to be around Jisung any longer. When you were far enough away, Felix burst into laughter.
“I know you said he hit on you, but I wasn’t ready to see it first-hand.” He said. You rolled your eyes, pushing him slightly.
“Stop! It’s annoying!” You grumbled.
“Oh, whatever, he’s into you. Try to give him a chance.”
Your eyes widened, “You’re kidding right?”
He shook his head.
“Why would I give him a chance? He constantly has girls all over him, being a player is his thing.”
“Don’t let looks deceive you, he’s not all that bad.” He stated, shrugging quickly. You rolled your eyes, not believing a word he said. Nothing about Jisung has given you any reason to think of him positively.
“Whatever you say.” You mumbled to him. You finished the walk to your house in silence, turning towards Felix once you got into your room.
“Oh, didn’t you say you had to tell me something?” You asked.
A lightbulb went off in Felix’s head as he nodded, “Ahh! I wanted to invite you to the beach party Chan is throwing.”
“Chan? As in Bang Chan?” You asked incredulously. When Felix confirmed your thoughts, you sighed slowly. Bang Chan is a few years older than you, and he’s thrown a huge party every summer for several years now. He had a cottage right beside the beach, and in between the ocean and his house was a clearing for a bonfire. There was always drinking and the occasional drugs, although Chan discouraged the use of them on his property. The parties were always massive, and everyone looked forward to going. You’ve never gone to the party before, and you weren’t planning on going any time soon.
“No way, I’m going to that.” You said sharply.
“Why not?” He asked grumpily.
“Don’t get me wrong, I like parties, but not parties with that kind of reputation.”
He rolled his eyes, “Come one! Don’t be boring, this is the last chance you have to go to one before college.” You looked at him blankly, still unconvinced.
“Okay, I wasn’t going to say it, but I have to at this point…You need some action in your life.”
You playfully smacked Felix’s arm. He chuckled at you but held up his hands defensively. “You never have fun anymore! You used to always party with me, but when junior year hit, you only studied. You’ve graduated, and it’s summer, what’s holding you back?”
“I always have fun! Plus, I have obligations right now, like my job!” You said defensively. He rolled his eyes, giving you a sharp look over.
“We both know that’s not true, your job has other employees, so please just come to the party. I want my best friend with me for once.” He begged. You had a stare down, his determined look eventually winning you over. You let out a huff as you caved, saying a quick, “fine,” before Felix punched the air in excitement.
“I promise you won’t regret it!”
~~~
You were going to regret it, no doubt. You weren’t going to tell Felix though, because he was excited about you going. You didn’t want to put a damper on his happiness, even if you wanted to avoid this upcoming party at all costs.
The party was in another week, and you were not ready for it at all. You wanted to get a cute bathing suit before, as well as some clothes for the rest of the party. If you had to go, you at least wanted to be prepared. Buying new clothes, however, meant longer shifts at work so you could get the money to spend. Which inevitably brought more, and longer, run ins with Jisung.
You had to admit, he was being more creative with his pick-up lines, but none of them had the effect he wanted. He also tried to do more tricks on his board as he went to your booth, hoping to amaze you. Some of his tricks were thoroughly impressive, but you would never say it out loud. In fact, your constant turn downs and closed off demeaner finally seemed to take a toll on him.
You thought that he was finally giving up.
With this newfound hope that he would give up, you found it easier going into work today. The sun was hot but not too harsh. It was the perfect day to be outside. Costumers were lesser today, giving you more time to take breaks/zone out throughout your shift.
Then you heard the sound of a young girl giggling, followed by a deep voice that you knew all too well. You looked up to see a little girl, about eight or nine, running from Jisung with a huge smile on her face. He chased her with his own grin, a deep chuckle leaving his lips. You watched the interaction go down, feeling your heart swell at the adorable scene. Soon enough, Jisung caught the girl, swooping her up into his arms. He spun her a round a little before setting her back on her feet, keeping one of her hands in his as he led her towards your ice cream booth. She held onto his hand tightly as she waddled over, her face bright once she saw all the flavors.
Jisung lifted her once again, this time balancing her on his hip so she could see the options better. He glanced up at you, a warm smile on his face. You were surprised, you’ve never seen him have such a warm and happy expression.
“What would you like sweetheart?” You asked softly, watching as her eyes darted to you.
“The chocolate!” She said excitedly.
Jisung tapped her shoulder lightly, “Be polite, Mina.”
“Oh, yeah,” she tried to make a serious face as she said, “may I please have the chocolate?”
“Yes, you may.” You giggled, “What kind of cone, or would you prefer a bowl?”
“She’ll have a bowl; my aunt will kill me if she gets any on her outfit.” He chuckled. You smiled, before grabbing one of the bowls from the rack.
“How many scoops will that be?”
“Two, please.” Jisung answered for her. You did as he told, giving her two large scoops of chocolate ice cream in the bowl. You put a spoon in the bowl, before handing it over to them.
“How much is it?” Jisung asked, reaching for his wallet as he set her down again.
You didn’t know if it was the cuteness of the little girl or Jisung’s caring manner that possessed you to say this, but you blurted out, “It’s on the house!”
He raised an eyebrow, “What?”
“I’m feeling generous, Jisung, so don’t make me change my mind.” You said, although this time you were actually joking with him, a smile upon your lips. Something about the way he took care of that little girl must’ve softened you, because you actually listened to what Jisung said next.
“Fine, but first there is something I wanted to say…I feel really bad about these past weeks. I shouldn’t have bothered you so much, and I should’ve just accepted the fact that you weren’t into me. So, I’m sorry.” He said, to which you shook your head.
“It’s okay, honestly. Thank you for apologizing.” You replied.
Suddenly the little girl came prancing up, her chocolate ice cream already slightly smeared on her lips. She tilted her head to the side, looking at you in awe.
“Oh! You’re the pretty one Hannie has been talking about!” She exclaimed. A blush immediately flew onto Jisung’s face, eyes widening in surprise. He quickly shushed Mina, before turning back to you sheepishly.
“I don’t know whether to focus on you calling me ‘pretty’ or her calling you ‘Hannie.’” You said with a laugh.
He scrunched his face up, “How about neither.”
Soon after, Jisung got a text from his aunt, telling him to bring Mina home. You watched as they went, feeling confusion from the whole situation. You had a full conversation with Han Jisung, and you…enjoyed it? You were beyond confused. You didn’t think this guy could have any redeeming qualities, let alone care for a little girl as much as he just did. It was heartwarming to say the least, and you felt your opinion on him slowly shifting…
Over the next few days, you saw Jisung the same amount, but you actually had conversations instead of him flirting with you. Not to mention, he would apologize every day for making you feel uncomfortable. You weren’t friends, but you were able to talk to him. You were able to be casual with him.
“So,” he began, taking a lick of his ice cream cone, “what are your plans for this weekend, Miss Workaholic.”
“Take a guess,” you said after giving him a well-deserved eye roll.
“Work, work, an extra shift, work, and did I mention work?”
You chuckled, “Wrong!”
“Oh? What are you doing then?” He seemed surprised, even intrigued.
“I’m going to Bang Chan’s party with Felix.”
“Really?” He rose his eyebrows, “I’m not that surprised actually.”
This left you confused, “Why’s that?”
“Oh, come on, did you really think I could forget?” He asked.
“Forget what?” Your confusion was only growing at this point.
“Sophomore year, Hyunjin’s party.” He stated. You thought about it momentarily, jaw dropping as a distant memory flooded your brain.
Towards the end of sophomore year, you went to a party with Felix. You did this a lot, but this time it was different, it was at the house of your crush at the time. Your former crush, Hwang Hyunjin, and Han Jisung were best friends. Everyone at school loved them, and the ladies especially couldn’t stay away from them. Back then, however, Jisung wasn’t as bad. Compared to what Hyunjin did, he seemed like an angel. Seriously, if Jisung was a fuckboy, then Hyunjin was the leader of them.
The party had hundreds of people from your school. Everyone wanted to be there. Of course, you and Felix went, and you were planning on talking to Hyunjin at some point throughout the night. When you got there, you went straight for the drinks. Hyunjin’s parents were out of town, so no parents knew about the alcohol he brought for the party. You drank to loosen yourself up for the party, getting tipsy. At some point throughout the night, you got distracted while you were dancing, and you lost sight of Felix. It didn’t phase you, as you figured you both could have fun separately. So, you kept dancing, until you accidently bumped into him…Hwang Hyunjin. You quickly apologized, your tipsy state making your words come out stuttered. Not to mention, you were nervous to finally be talking to your crush one on one.
“No problem, babe. You’re Y/N right?” He asked.
You nodded, surprised he knew you. “Yeah, that’s me.”
“Can I get you a drink?”
“Uh…sure.” You said happily. He smirked, shooting you a small wink.
“I’ll be right back then.”
He walked off, pushing outside of the crowd of drunk teens to the drinks. You swayed to the music as you waited for him to come back, feeling your heart fluttering. However, you waited there for a long time. Minute after minute went by and he hadn’t come back. You got anxious, so you walked out of the crowd after him. You went to the kitchen, where all the drinks were and didn’t see him anywhere. You saw Felix though, so you walked over to him.
“Have you seen Hyunjin anywhere?” You asked.
Felix rolled his eyes, “I saw him all over some girl, before she dragged him into one of his guestrooms. Why?”
You froze, feeling every shred of hope within you completely disappear. You knew his reputation, but it still hurt you. You genuinely had feelings for him, and you thought he could’ve felt the same. You turned away from Felix quickly, grabbing a solo cup and pouring it half full of vodka.
“No reason.” You said, before chugging it and walking away. It burned as it slipped down your throat, and that was all you remember from that night. You only remember waking up the next day at your house. That’s why you began hating Jisung. Anyone that was friends with Hyunjin pissed you off, because you knew they were a player like him. You hated him even though, after that night, Jisung and Hyunjin got into a fist fight the next day. Nobody knew what the fight was about, but it was so bad that they never talked again. They haven’t been friends since then.
You snapped back into reality after reliving that memory. You glanced at Jisung with a frown, remembering how horrible that night made you feel.
“I only remember half of that night, I drowned my sorrows after realizing my crush was an asshole.” You said softly. Jisung looked slightly disappointed.
“You don’t remember everything?” He asked.
You shook your head, “I got too drunk to remember. Why, did I miss something?”
“No,” he said, “but that was the last party you went to in high school, it sucks that you can’t remember it.” Jisung’s attitude seemed to change, but you ignored it.
You shrugged, “I’m glad I gave up my party phase.”
He nodded, clearing his throat. “Well, uh, I have to go, but I hope I see you at the party tomorrow.” You didn’t have time to respond before he placed his board down and began skating off, the conversation you had being left on a weird note. You wondered what made him cut off the conversation like that but decided to ignore it while you finished your shift.
The next day, while you were getting ready for the party, you thought that maybe it could be fun. You had a new bikini, a two piece a beautiful rose design, and new clothes to go over it. You used to love parties, so what could be so bad about going again? You wanted to have a good time. Plus, for some reason, you were looking forward to seeing Jisung again. You got completely ready and felt confident in yourself. When Felix got there, he only reassured your thoughts by hyping you up. You two talked and joked until the sun began to fall, the sunset indicating that the party had begun.
You hopped into Felix’s car, heading down the street towards Chan’s cottage. You heard the music as you approached, watching a bunch of people mingling around the area. Felix quickly parked, leading you towards the party. You took a deep breath, pushing down the nerves. He grabbed your hand, giving it a tight squeeze.
“You’ll have fun, you just have to let yourself, okay?” He said.
You nodded, and he released your hands with a smile. You two walked into the huge house, Felix leading you straight towards the drinks. He gave you your favorite fruity-alcoholic drink before telling you something.
“Now go to the bonfire, someone wants to see you.” He said vaguely.
“Who?”
He shrugged, pointing towards the door, telling you to figure it out yourself. You rolled your eyes as you opened the cap of the drink, taking a sip as you walked out the back door. It led to Chan’s massive yard. His yard was directly connected to the beach, so you could walk to it from there. But right now, you were fixated on the huge fire in the middle of his yard. The fire pit had huge rocks around it, keeping the fire in safely. Around the fire were several long logs for people to sit on.
You glanced around, looking for whoever could’ve possibly wanted to see you. Then, you made eye contact with Jisung. He was leaning forwards, arms perched on his knees, a drink in his hand. He smiled when he saw you, sitting up straight. He gestured for you to come closer, and you found yourself doing just that. You walked up to him, going around the fire until you were at his side. He scooted down so you had room to sit on the log, and you happily took the seat he provided.
“So, how’s the party treating you so far?” He asked.
“Well,” you said, “I just got here. So, give me an hour, let me finish my drink and ask me again, sound good?” You finished with a wink, causing him to laugh slightly.
“Sounds great.”
You sat around the fire with him, listening to music and bonding with old classmates. Some of them were reliving their memories from high school, while others told funny stories from previous years. You even told a few of your own stories, you felt included. You were having a blast. You felt the alcohol from your drink settling in, giving you a small buzz that brightened your mood more. Jisung stayed by you the whole time, enjoying how animated you were acting. He watched you as you talked, laughed when you laughed, and he seemed to genuinely want to be around you.
You were now listening to an old classmate recount a story from her Junior year. You were slightly spacing out, not paying attention to her story. Rather, you listened to the song that was playing in the house, and you remembered it being your favorite song to dance to during parties. You looked up to see some people dancing to the song in the sand in Chan’s yard. Some speakers were placed in that area, making it perfect for people who wanted to dance outside of the house.
You felt a rush of adrenaline rush through you, and you hopped up from your spot on the log. Jisung watched in confusion. You turned to him quickly, reaching out your hand to him. He grabbed it slowly, an eyebrow raising. You began pulling him away from the bonfire and towards the people dancing.
“What are we doing?” He asked once you got there.
You turned towards him fully, keeping his hand in yours as you said, “Come dance with me.”
You walked backwards, pulling him with you until you were in the crowd of people dancing. A smile was on his face now, his features bright as he looked at you. “Why dance with me? There’s a lot of other people here.”
“Those people aren’t you, and I want to dance with you.” You shrugged. He seemed unsure as you began letting loose, swaying to the bright song. When he was still hesitant, you let out a sigh. You grabbed both of his hands and placed them on your waist. He bit his lip, before letting out a breathy laugh.
“Well, I’ll let you know, I’m a pretty good dancer.” He said, his confidence rising.
“Oh?” You asked, “Then prove it.”
He tightened his grip on you, pulling you closer as he began to dance with you. You two moved to the beat, holding each other like you were the only people there. You danced with him, song after song, feeling the night go by quickly. You were having the best night of your life, and you could thank Jisung for making it so wonderful.
After a while of dancing, you both decided to get a drink. He placed his hand on the small of your back as you walked back to the house. You felt comfortable against his touch, something about him being with you made you feel warm. You never thought you would be close with Han Jisung, let alone spend hours with him at a party you didn’t originally want to be at. But her you were, getting yourself a drink with him.
You two went back outside once you grabbed drinks, standing outside the group of people dancing. You two talked while you drank, noticing the way he couldn’t tear his eyes away from you. You were getting shy, glancing away from him whenever he made you blush. You felt great.
Then, someone decided to step into your conversation uninvited.
“Hey! Y/N, we haven’t talked in forever, you look amazing.”
Hwang Hyunjin.
You looked towards him slowly, “I know.” You said sharply.
He chuckled, “Want to dance?”
“I’ll pass, I’d rather dance in the fire than with you.”
“Harsh, babe. I like a girl who plays hard to get.” He said, obviously not taking a hint.
“She’s obviously not interested, go find someone desperate to flirt with.” Jisung stepped in, a tight look across his face. Hyunjin gave Jisung a sharp glare before shaking his head, walking away with a bruised ego. You looked at Jisung as he watched Hyunjin walk away, his jaw tight. You reached down, grabbing Jisung’s hand. However, this time, you laced your fingers with him. The action was suddenly more intimate, bringing Jisung to stare at your hands. You began walking, and Jisung followed without questioning you. At some point you released his hand, picking up your pace until you were running towards the almost empty beach. When you got there, you began pulling off your clothes, revealing the bikini you had underneath. The night was warm, but the breeze of the ocean caused hairs to rise on your skin. Jisung stared at you from a few steps behind, his eyes filled with an emotion you couldn’t quite place.
You gestured for him to come closer, and he did as he slowly pulled off his shirt. You hadn’t realized that Jisung was wearing swim shorts the whole night, forgetting they looked like normal shorts. He threw his shirt in the pile you put your clothes in, before a small grin appeared on his face.
“What is it?” You asked. A mischievous look crossed his eyes, before he ran towards you. He grabbed your waist, throwing you over his shoulder. You yelped as he began running towards the water. Before you knew it, he dove into the ocean, taking you down with him. The cold water engulfed your skin, cutting off your yelp. You both resurfaced right after, chuckling from his little plan. You lightly smacked him, while another laugh fell past your lips.
“I was going to slowly get it, loser!” You exclaimed.
He shrugged, his grin bigger than ever. “By the way, how’s the party going for you?” He asked, reminding you of the question you told him to ask hours ago.
“I can honestly say it’s the best night I’ve ever had.”
“Really?” He asked, he seemed shocked.
“Thanks to you, yes.” You said softly.
He smiled, swimming closer to you. Once you two were face to face, he took a deep breath, it seemed like he had something on his mind.
“Can I tell you something?” He asked.
“Of course,” you said, ready to listen while keeping afloat in the calm ocean.
“That party Sophomore year, there was more to it. The reason I brought it up yesterday was because I wanted to see if you remembered what happened.” He began, causing you to perk up curiously.
“Well, that night at the party, you had drunkenly run into me. I immediately asked you why you were drunk, because I knew you didn’t like to get drunk at parties. You told me what happened with Hyunjin, and you kept telling me how you just wanted to go home. I picked you up, because you could barely walk straight, and I took you out to my car. You told me your address, and I drove you home. The whole way there you talked about your crush on Hyunjin, and how you were an idiot to fall for his act. I listened, and when I got to your house, you told me you didn’t want your parents to find out you were drunk. I snuck you inside your house through your window, making sure you got to bed before I left. The next day, I went to Hyunjin’s house and told him off for what he did to you. Then, we got into a fist fight over it, which inevitably ended our friendship. I never used to have a problem with how he played with girls, but when he did it to you it was different.” He paused for a moment, looking away from you as he said, “Because…I liked you then. I saw the way you acted in class, when you were with Felix, and how you genuinely cared for the people around you. I had a huge crush on you for two years, and Hyunjin knew that, but he still played with your feelings like it didn’t matter. I liked you throughout high school, but I knew you hated me after that party. You thought I was the same as him, and I couldn’t blame you. I made it seem like that, but all I wanted was you.”
You were speechless when he finished, watching his face closely. You could tell by the way he spilled his heart that he was being serious. He let out a long breath, waiting patiently for your reaction. You decided, however, that words couldn’t express the feelings rushing through your veins. Only actions could show how you were feeling right now, so you acted upon them quickly. You closed the gab between you, your hands cupping his face as you pressed your lips to his own. He responded immediately, his hands gliding through the cold water to rest on your waist. He pulled you closer, his hands holding you tighter. Your bodies pressed against each other as your lips fit together like puzzle pieces. It was like you knew each other’s movements before you made them, everything falling in sync. His lips sent waves of electricity through you, lighting up every nerve and muscle within you. His hands were like fire as they wandered over your torso. You own hands were wrapped around him, one tangled in his wet hair.
He reached his hands down until they rested on your thighs, before guiding them to wrap around his waist. He began carrying you out of the water, instead setting you down on the sand softly. You stayed in the same position as he laid you on your back, hovering over you with affection in his eyes. As he began kissing you again, you completely ignored the sand that now covered the both of you; you ignored the feeling of the breeze against your wet skin, and you set all your focus on him.
All that mattered was him. He was everything you wanted and needed in this moment. When he finally pulled away, he looked into your eyes. You both tried to catch your breath while silently showing each other how you cared.
“Do you know what could make this night even better?” He asked.
“What?”
“If the most beautiful person at this party agreed to be mine.”
You teased him slightly, “I wonder who that could be?”
“I figured you would say that.” He said, a deep chuckle falling past his pretty lips, “Let me rephrase that…Will you, Y/N, the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen, and my crush since the start of high school, be mine?”
You pressed another, sweet kiss to his lips as you replied, “Of course.”

[10:30AM] with Chan;
Note: For my love, as promised, @backhugsforhyunjin ♥ I hope this is what you were asking for.
Warning: Very angst

If there was a time when Chan treated you like a queen, it was during your pregnancy days.
The sweet boy would send you a text in every chance he could, asking if you were alright or if the baby was quiet and letting you rest.
He would go shopping with you. Helping you choose the cutest outfits for your changing body.
You loved to wake up with him kissing your growing belly, or talking to your baby like the great father he is, completely lost in enjoyment.
Chan loved you more than anything. He knew, from the moment that your eyes locked for the first time, that you would be his wife and mother of his children.
Your wedding was simple and small, just his dear bandmates, his family and yours as well.
The blonde boy always believed that you couldn't become more gorgeous, but when his eyes witnessed your pregnant body, he changed his mind.
But, everything seemed to go down as soon as your baby, Mina, was born. Chan became completely in love with his girl and all of his attention turned to her.
She turned five months when the Stray Kids comeback was scheduled, and it got worst for you.
Since the baby still needed all your attention, you started to work from the house. Designing, after all, could be done from home, and since Mina was a sleepy girl, you could work relatively well.
Your routine was rough. You couldn't sleep much because the baby would wake up crying in the middle of the night, waking you up. And, when she finally falls asleep, you couldn't rest yourself. So, you decided to start working at night.
You had to take care of Mina, clean the house by yourself and even do your work. It was evident on your face that you lost some weight and the dark mess under your sights were showing signs of tiredness.
Your husband's routine was the same ever since then. He would kiss your forehead as goodbye in the morning, and, would do the same as he stepped inside the house passing the three in the morning.
Of course, he would go and kiss his Mina good night as well. And also, always tell her he loved her. Something he hasn't said to you, in months.
You woke yesterday with a new feeling of hope blooming in your chest. Day 15th of May, it's your wedding anniversary of 3 years.
You woke up early, hurrying in making your husband a delicious breakfast. As you happily hummed a song that was stuck in your head, you finished the pancakes, a proud smile displayed on your lips.
But quickly the smile vanished away when Chan appeared in the kitchen: He kissed your forehead, picked his keys from the hall and walked out.
No 'I love you'. No 'good morning baby'. No 'Happy 3 year anniversary.' Nothing.
With teary eyes you gazed all over the food you cooked him: the pancakes, the sweet orange juice, some warm coffee, fresh fruit, and his favorite cereals.
You cooked it all for nothing... 'No!' You thought to yourself. 'He is just tired of all the pressure on him. Chan still loves me.' You notify yourself, cleaning the salty teardrops with the back of your hand.
In the afternoon you texted him 'Have a good afternoon of work, Love' but he didn't text back. It's ok, he is probably working -You thought.
Your baby, Mina, seemed very cheerful and talkative today. Flashing her gummy smile at you, whenever you cutely talked to her. Deciding to try another thing, you dressed her up with a cute pink dress and snapped some precious pictures.
'Do I look pretty?' You joked as you sent some pictures of her to your lover, and for your surprise... Chan replied immediately: 'My baby looks so pretty!'
You smiled as the idea of a new surprise to your lover came to your senses. As soon as the child was peacefully sleeping you dug in your wardrobe for something to wear.
After choosing the whole outfit, you decided to work on your new design for a while, so you could make some time to start cooking dinner.
Everything was ready at nine pm. You took a shower and were smelling like roses. The blue velvet dress was hugging your, now, less curvy body perfectly, making you feel confident. Even your make up was fire, simple but blue, making your hazel eyes sparkle.
In the kitchen there were candles everywhere, making a shady and dark but sensual environment drown the whole place as his favorite food was ready for him to eat as soon as he came home.
To your unhappiness, when Chan came home, it passed the five am and he was too tired to notice your romantic kitchen or the absence of your presence by his side in the bed.
You woke up in the kitchen a few minutes later. The candles still burning, the food now freezing and the house completely silent.
With your heart thumping stupidly fast, you thought something happened to Chan because there was no evidence of him. But you were mistaken.
As you silently footed inside the large bedroom, not to wake up the sleeping newborn, your eyes widened as you saw your husband dozing off on the king-sized bed.
How didn't he noticed that you weren't there? How didn't he noticed the kitchen carefully decorated with candles? Why did he only answer the texts about Mina and left yours? Why hasn't he said he loved you in months?
With burning tears rolling down your cheeks you walked back to the kitchen and began to clean it all. Halfway to all the dishes you were washing, you couldn't glimpse anything from the tears in your eyes and ended you falling asleep sitting on a chair, your head resting over your tear-stained dress.
Chan woke up the next morning, today, with a loving smile, the sunlight was brilliant, making the bedroom have a comfortable and warm atmosphere.
His muscular arm searched for your body, but his hands were only met with cold sheets. Chan immediately opened his eyes.
You weren't in the bedroom. Maybe you were in your creative room, so he walked over there to check. But you weren't there either.
Then he remembered that you love to shower in the morning, so, he walked to the bathroom, only to find silence. No sign of you.
It hit him there. Where were you? Why weren't you by his side?
With fast and worried steps he walked to the kitchen and as soon as his eyes recognized your figure, the tears were already blurring his vision.
There was a burned smell inside, and he recognized it because of the melted candles all around him. His eyes found cooked food at the top of the table and dirty dishes on the sink.
No, no.... He couldn't....
You were even worse: Your face was stained with dry make-up under your eyes and cheeks. Your dress was messy and your heavy breathing suddenly felt like punches in his stomach.
The blonde man picks up his phone and notices the little reminder '3 year marriage anniversary - yesterday'.
Chan falls on his knees in a silent cry. All the memories of what he has been doing making his heart break with blame.
All those months without a single 'I love you'; all those months without giving you the, so worth love... He missed you.
You woke up scared. An unknown sound of sobs filling your ears. The baby... You guessed immediately, but the sight of your husband on his knees by your side made you think twice.
"Chan," You called for him. "What's wrong? Why are you crying?"
As soon as he recognized your voice, his guilty eyes studied your worried face. He wasted no more time: Chan stood up on his feet and held your body tightly against his:
"I'm so sorry YN. I never meant to hurt you... I swear... I just- I know I have been neglecting you and it's all my fault...." He cried with his face hidden in your shoulder in shame. "I'm such a bad husband. I was so focused on our daughter that I forgot that you needed my love as well... I'm so sorry baby..."
By this time, you couldn't stop the tears from dropping from your stares. You wanted to inform him that its ok, that it doesn't matter, but it does.
You've felt so alone, so lonely...
"Chan..." You whispered fighting back a cry.
"I'm sorry... I will pay more attention to you." Chan said with his lungs full of air. "I love you so much YN. And I will show it to you more, I'll thank you every day, for loving me and for taking care of our daughter." His fingers were caressing your cheeks, and you leaned on his touch.
"I missed you so much, Channie..." You pouted.
"I missed you too, darling." Chan smiled and then proceeded to smooch your lips. Once, twice... until he was satisfied.
"I won't ever neglect you again, love. You are the of my life..." With those last words, you buried your face in the crook of his neck and inhaled his manly perfume, as you hugged him.
You've missed this. You've missed your husband. But it's all good now, he is finally here for you.
