~It was a beautiful day up in the Sierra Nevada mountain range hiking to Horsetail Falls. Horsetail Falls is located in Twin Bridges, California at the edge of Desolation Wilderness. Today I started my hike right off at Pyramid Creek Trailhead right off highway 50. I had full intentions of hiking to the lakes above the falls and do a little fishing but a few dumb mistakes made it not safe for me. I forgot to bring my water filter so by the time I got to the falls I had drank all of my water. I also got a late start and the day got really hot so I decided not to push myself. Better to be safe than sorry. Hopefully next week I will get an earlier start, bring my filter and then we will get a little fishing in. So stay tuned for that in the next week or so. ~If you enjoyed the video please Like and Subscribe. ~Any questions or comments just drop them below.

I will start by saying this was one of the most awesome trails that I have been on in a long time! The morning started off very chilly, the snow had fallen the night before and was still below freezing when I started the hike. I began my journey from the Wrights Lake campgrounds over flow parking lot because the campground is closed. From there, I headed up the mountain towards Twin Lakes. Along the way I encounter waterfalls, streams and some spectacular views. Half way through the hike it began to snow. The snow lightly covered the mountains making them look breathtakingly  beautiful. Once I arrived at Twin Lakes, I was surrounded by massive mountains with a beautiful lake sitting at the bottom. ~I took a beautiful hike to Grass Lake at the edge of Desolation Wilderness and it was awesome to be able to hike through Glen Alpine Springs. Glen Alpine Springs was the first family resort in the Lake Tahoe Basin and was established in 1878 . A few buildings are still standing and are in relativity good condition. The hike to the lake does not take long but has some breathtaking views along the way. Mosquitoes have arrived so make sure to bring the bug spray! ~If you enjoyed the video please Like and Subscribe. ~Any questions or comments just drop them below.
