I was listening to the song "Ready for This" from Hazbin Hotel, and it occurred to me how fitting it would be with Mortal Kombat's Tarkatans. So here is a blurb below, set in Mortal Kombat 1 with the set up being Princess Kitana trying to convince Tarkatans to join her cause in place of Charlie.

Baraka: Now, fair warning: This group sticks together. So, to convince any of them, you'll have to convince all of them.

*Baraka gestures to the gathered crowd of Tarkatans for Kitana*

*Baraka pauses, trying to look for the words only for Medusa!Reader to chime in*

So anyone remember this bit of dialogue I wrote?

Y/N: How is the Collection today, Ermac?

Ermac: Thanks to your remedies, We feel more... stable. /

Well, that came from an idea in mind about how Ermac would possibly go to Medusa!Reader for healing, specifically, keeping the magic that holds him together stable. Y/N would gladly do so, knowing Ermac’s death means the death of all the souls within them. However, it’s not like keeping a soul-made construct intact through herbs and roots alone would due. So Y/N would have to turn to some rather dubious methods…

Not only would she use some magic she learned when coming across Shang Tsung’s island, but also the discard liquified soul fragments Y/N found within the remains of Yin’s fortress. She didn’t find a lot, but it’s enough for now to occasionally feed Ermac drops of the fragments. Only Ermac and Y/N know about this, as the latter opted not to tell Baraka.

Yet, if Medusa!Reader is willing to feed soul fragments to Ermac, you have to wonder what else Y/N is willing to do…

Fun Bean Facts

Bean was born Adeline Lewandowski but gained the nickname “Bean” because when she first came to Skull Island, a year after Hank Marlow and Ikari Gunpei, the two stranded pilots offered her cans of beans. She immediately gobbled them down and then asked for more, signing for more beans.

Speaking of the pilots, Bean would learn both English and Japanese from Marlow and Gunpei. The latter teaches her how to use a sword.

The stitched scar on Bean’s face is not because of a monster, but because she accidentally stabbed herself in the face when practicing with a knife.

Bean has killed a man before she got to Skull Island and still carries said man's knife.

Bean refers to Kong as her "Big Brother," and likewise, Kong refers to Bean as "Little Bean."

Kong and Bean are so close, in fact, that sometimes Bean can feel when Kong is in pain.

When Bean was relatively new to Skull Island, she used to try and seek out Kong, once even slipping past the Iwis' protective walls before Gunpei had to save her from a psychovulture.

Bean would eventually become Kong's hunting partner, often acting as bait to lure out Skullcrawlers. Even part-time nurses when Kong gets some especially gruesome wounds, and Bean would use what she learned from the Iwis and the pilots to patch Kong up, such as using silk from Mommy Long Legs as bandages or plants that specifically grow on the native herbivores.

In the events of "Kong Skull Island," even though Bean would've had the opportunity to leave the titular island, she would insist on staying. The outside world has nothing for her, and she made her home with Kong and the Iwis.

Bean would eventually teach the other Iwis how to use American Sign Language.

Bean eventually has an Iwi as her husband and becomes a mother, then a grandmother.

Adeline Lewandowski AKA “Bean”

(I made this character not long after Kong: Skull Island)

Born in May 9,1935, little Adeline's life already started out with some difficulty, given the country she was born in was still trying to rebuild itself from the first War World. Still, her early life wasn't completely devoid of joy, having two loving parents; her mother an artist and her father, an accountant. She was a bubbly and inquisitive child, who could get into mischief even with the best intentions. Then everything started to fall apart when in 1939, Germany invaded Poland, leaving the family on the run for the next two years but unable to leave the country.

Luckily, a kind elderly deaf man hid them in his cellar, even taught them ASL so they can talk without any noise. However, the years of barely talking and the stress that came from having to stay hidden, caused Adeline to slowly lose her voice. This, on top of the risk of being caught by the SS-Standartenfuhrer, worried her parents who still tried to keep their daughter from completely loosing her spirit. However, despite their best efforts, they were eventually found by the Nazis after someone reported spotting Adeline peaking out the window only for the deaf man to deny anyone there, for his crimes, he was gunned down by the Nazis. Adeline and her mother were separated from the father, and put to work at a concentration camp, never knowing the father died within a year.

For the next 2 years, it was just Adeline and her mother, who only had each other. By this time, Adeline lost her voice completely as she was constantly discouraged by wardens from speaking at all. In 1944, Adeline witnessed her mother beaten to death by her camp's kappa. She had to be held back by the other prisoners as she silently screamed out for her only family left. Finally at her limit with nothing to loose, Adeline made a daring escape on to a delivery ship after first hiding among a pile of corpses. Again, she was spotted on the ship just when they coming across Skull Island and entered its storms. Out of desperation from being discovered and then killed, she managed to kill a Nazi with his own army knife. Adeline had no time to fully comprehend her actions, as the ship's haul was torn open from the merciless waves smashing it into large rocks. She was sure that, at the moment the ocean washed her out into the sea, she was finally going to reunited with her family. By some miracle, this wasn't the end of her story; instead, the waves carried her to Skull Island's shore. She arrived a year after Hank Marlow and Ikari Gunpei crashed here during a dogfight. Just like them, she encountered the island's King, Kong. However, when Kong founded this small defenseless human child, Adeline, even after all the horrors she has witnessed, showed no fear towards the giant ape. In that moment, Kong secretly swore to himself that he won't let this kindred spirit die.

My Addition to the Monsterverse:

(Something I made back around 2018-2019)

There is a small girl on the sand. She has ragged looking dirty blonde hair, freckles across her nose, her face is scratched up and where there should be baby fat instead are sullen cheeks, she's wearing a soaked brown sweater and ragged gray skirt. No one is on the shore, well except for a certain 70-foot ape. He doesn't know how she ended up here, he just found her like this. This is a very unprecedented situation for Kong. What's he supposed to do? She's a small frail young human with no caretakers or any humans that he could see. Kong gently picks up the washed-up girl in his hand to take a closer look at her.

She feels cold but he can see her chest moving up and down, meaning she's still alive so there's still a chance to save her. The girl starts to shift in her sleep, groaning at the unfamiliar surface and humid air. Kong watches as she slowly opens her face and rubs her hands over her crusted eyes. She looks around her environment to see she's very high up and somewhere hot. Still groggy, she turns her gaze downward to see herself on the strange place she currently resting on, grey with some brown-looking fur peeking out at places. 

Her sleep-dazed self, reasons with herself to look up, which she does, coming in direct contact with the sun. Her face scrunches up as uses a hand to block out the merciless light that made her eyes feel like murder; she does adjust to it quickly when a large figure blocks it. The girl is able to make out a large orange eye that reminds her of the monkeys she would see in her mother's books and fires from hearths. She stands up unsteadily to reach up to her small boney hand towards Kong, to be sure what she's seeing isn't just another dream her mind made up. Kong moves his hand closer to his face, not wanting the girl to fall over just for trying to reach him. 

The girl places her hand on the large ape's cheek. It felt a bit dusty yet the soft fur made her curious enough to start rubbing it to feel more of the texture. She smiles and lets out a small giggle in happiness at the feeling which in turn made Kong give the girl a smile and for his expression to soften at the small innocent human, tears stinging the back of his eyes ; which ends too soon for him when she pulls away to look around her new surroundings.

Seeing she is in a new place and just escape from a hell on earth; she starts tearing up as she sat back down, although she didn't straight-up sob as she sits back down trying to use her damp sleeve to wipe the snot and tears away seeing those wouldn't really help her right now.

" Hhhuh? "

Kong groans out, looking at her with a tilt of his head. For an uncomfortable moment, he saw a much smaller and younger ape surrounded by the carnage he was born into, crying to the silent air but nobody heard. It passes when the little girl looks back up at the large ape with large teary hazel eyes. She then raises her hands up making strange gestures Kong didn't understand. She uses her left hand to make a fist with her thumb sticking out and makes a couple of circles on her chest going clockwise.

^ Sorry. ^

The girl then points to herself before lying the palm of her hand flat to her chest. Next, she uses her left index finger to tap it under her bottom lip and make a U motion away from her face.

^ I am lonely. ^ 

She then follows that up by moving an open hand to her right before pulling it back with her hand closed, before she then lays put hands flat on her chest as if she's having a heart attack.

^ And scared. ^

Kong didn't understand what the girl is trying to say but can guess she's feeling loud and clear. Kong knew this girl's young and vulnerable but he couldn't keep her! That would be too dangerous for this little girl, so lost, all alone in this cruel world. Just like he was...

 Kong then comes to the conclusion that will not let this girl die on his watch. He starts making his way through the jungle with the girl in his hand. She lets out a squeak of surprise at the movement so she clings to Kong's fingers in order to stay stable. Kong looks down at her in concern, but the girl only smiled in response before signing again.

^ I am fine. ^

Her expression falls as she takes in her new surroundings; instead of sandy beaches and rolling plains, there are tall trees and mountains around them. Everything seemed so much smaller from where she is, almost as if she were a giant like her new friend. Tapping at Kong's palm to get his attention, the girl shakes an index finger back and forth, then puts both index fingers by her face before pointing them outwards. 

^ You going where? ^

Kong points with his free hand towards a wall that's made with wooden spikes. The girl looks up at Kong with her big puppy eyes before putting her right fist over her left in an X in front of her body before making them go in opposite directions.

^ Safe? ^

She looks over tentatively over to the wall that had red spots here and there and with scratches made by something that looked to have big claws. Kong gently pats her head with his index finger before putting a hand to his chest as if to say " Trust me". The girl looks at Kong and then the wall before looking at Kong again and nodding her head. Kong gives a smile at the little person in his hand before making his way over to the wall.

Y'all probably haven't noticed given the lack of recent activity, but I was doing Mortal Kombat requests. However, now I'm officially closing them because, it took me months just to answer the last ones I had in my inbox!

I took so long because of college work not leaving me a lot of time to sit down and write, much less motivation. I'm majoring in Physics, so my class work is only going to get harder rand require more of my attention. So sorry about that y'all.

However, that doesn't mean you still can't leave the occasionl comment, story ideas, or inquiry about Medusa!Reader. Go ahead! I love reading those sort of asks!😁 However, I can't guarantee I will always get to them immediately. I will eventually rest assured.

Hi there! I stumbled upon your blog a while ago and I just wanted to say that I absolutely love your work. I absolutely love your Medusa Reader as well as the interactions between her and Baraka as well as her friendship with Syzoth with the rest of the Earthrealmers and Outworlders and of course the animosity she has for Shang Tsung though he's still attracted to her. I'm also the anonymous person that's been sending you the numerous reactions requests because I wanted to see how you would write out the scenarios that I would ask for and you've never disappointed me. I felt comfortable to reveal myself to you because I was nervous to see what kind of reaction I would get for sending these requests to you. I love the latest scenario that you posted yesterday and I sent you another request though this one is more PG friendly, basically the Outworlders stumbling upon a pet store and them interacting with the animals inside with Medusa Reader and Syzoth encountering the reptiles in the reptile section, Mileena and Kitana as well as Li Mei and Tanya playing with several puppies and kittens and ferrets and Ashrah interacting with several birds while Baraka is asking Johnny why do Earthrealmers keep them as pets and which ones would be delicious to eat scaring the Outworlders and a few customers and maybe Syzoth trying to eat some of the bugs that they sell in the store. You're an amazing writer with incredible talent and I hope to read more from you soon. Keep up the good work, you're awesome!

Sometimes I have to step back from writing since I'm laughing too hard at what I wrote or think about writing with these scenes.😂😂😂 Also, I am SOOOOO SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG TO FINALLY FINISH!!! You and the other outworlders plus Ashrah vaguely wondered about what Earthrealm's fauna is like compared to the other realms. You are all given a chance when coming across a pet store while Johnny was giving you another Earthrealm tour, specifically, a "exotic" pet store, that had a painted tropical bird on the sign. The smell of prey and predator bombarding emanating even just outside the door.

Mileena and Kitana were immediately drawn to the softer looking animals, approaching a pen filled with soft puppies yapping in greeting at the newcomers and another filled with mewing fluffy kittens. Mileena laughed as the puppies tripped over their own feet in their pursuit to greet her and Tanya. The latter lightly jokes/suggests that maybe they train some of these hounds to be Umgadi.

Kitana meanwhile is a few yards from her sister contently petting the kittens and letting them climb all over her, with Li Mei acting as her guard, as old habits die hard. Yet, one could see a small smirk from the former Umgadi priestess as she observes one kitten, the runt of the litter, trying to climb her leg. Admiring the small kit's tenacity. Kitana and Mileena later move their attentions to the small glass case containing ferrets.

You and Baraka followed behind Ashrah and Syzoth as the former wanted to check out the colorful birds there, seeing as the Netherealm doesn't contain any colorful ones nor non-scavengers. However, you lagged behind when your snakes started to hiss up a storm as they all lean towards the terraiums displaying mice and rats, snapping their jaws and flicking their tongues in the direction of the tasty snacks.

"Behave! I'll buy some of them later, just calm down!"

You hurriedly grabbed at your snakes to pull them away, as the rodents within their cases started running around in panic. Syzoth notices one of the store's employees giving you an odd look, and then drags you along to the reptile section while Baraka glowers at the employee until they finally lower their head to avoid eye contact with the Tarkatan.

The Reptile section had to be the most interesting part of the tour. Given how many of your snakes seemed to share many similarities with the serpents being sold here, whether that be in snout shape, eyes, length, or scale color and pattern. Although you had to pull your snakes away from more than one caged serpent, as they tried to eat the smaller ones and curled away from a boa.

Syzoth would remark how some of the reptiles vaguely resemble either relatives or associates from Zaterra. He would point at some of the lizards, such as an "ugly" looking reptile with dull scales and say that it's Archduke Mahazzem before hissing in amusement which you shared in.

"It really DOES look like him."

The Zaterran even pointed at a snake basking on a rock under its heating lamp and remarked that it's you. To which you respond by pointing at a tortoise and saying the resemblance between him and Syzoth is uncanny. While you and Syzoth were ribbing each other, Baraka went off on his own to ask Cage if he could purchase some of the animals, specifically some ferrets, birds, and reptiles. Not as pets but as meat to try out later. Much to Cage's disgust and a few other regular customers' horror. Kitana held the ferret in her arms even closer as did Tanya with one of the pups she was growing fond of.

Cage's disgust doesn't end there as he spots you and Syzoth purchasing some crickets and mice before eating them right at the register, for all to see. At the sound of a child crying, did Cage rush to escort all of you out of the store, not caring for Baraka's protests of not getting anything to eat as well.

Medusa!Reader Keeps Eating poison

Based on this clip from Apothecary Diaries:

While I did mention that Baraka would eventually be (mostly) chill with Medusa!Reader eating poison, that’s not to say he didn’t freak out just a teeny bit when they first ate poison before him. Specifically, when nonchalantly eating some poisonous shrooms in front of him 😆😆😆 Whether or not he knew before then that Medusa!Reader has a strong tolerance for poison wouldn’t change his reaction much.

To set the scene, Baraka and some gatherers from the Tarkatan Colony consult Y/N on some mushrooms they found for whether or not they can be used in a stew, or would just kill them. Rather than doing the sane thing and NOT eat the possibly poisonous shrooms, Y/N pops one in their mouth and savors the flavor.

Y/N: Sometimes, poisonous can be not poisonous depending on the creature. We can enjoy a nice spicy meal without problem, but the same meal would kill a mutt. The same could be said here in this instance with these specific species of mushrooms, only they would be the mutt if they were to consume them.

Baraka: Then these are no good for-

*Y/N pops one of said shrooms in their mouth with a content smile. Baraka and the other Tarkatans are taken aback. Baraka slams his hands on the table in front of him. *

Baraka: WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?

Y/N: It’s fine. *swallows* Probably.

Baraka: PROBABLY?!

*Y/N then pulls out a small red pouch*

Y/N proudly: Calm yourself, I have an emetic agent right here-

*Baraka snatches the pouch and without hesitation, shoves the entire bag in Y/N’s mouth*

Baraka: Vomit it up, NOW!

*Y/N proceeds to then crouch over and hurl their guts out in the corner of the hut they’re in*

Afterward, Baraka had to keep an eye on Medusa!Reader in making sure they didn’t try to eat more of those poisonous shrooms, much to the latter’s dismay.
