What is One by One?

One by One is a horror comic based in the universe of Erin Hunter’s Warrior Cats. The comic is inspired by "The Adventure Zone". The story was roleplayed by a group of people and then turned into a comic.

It takes place in Windclan. Many cats have been found dead in recent moons. The leader says it’s foxes, but all signs point to a different culprit. The cats of Windclan grow weary but, little do they know this is only the beginning.

How do I join?

As of right now the roleplay is closed but the comic team is always in need of more members.

Meet Sandsight!

Despite his old age, Sand is still a young tom at heart. He mentally never ages. He’s diehard loyal to Windclan, and is witty and clever. He tells great stories, and enjoys the kits that listen to him. He can be blunt sometimes, however.

Backstory

Sand was born as the only child to Honeydawn and Whiteclaw, two respected warriors. He was expected to be a prodigy, and he was. He was a talented apprentice. However, he was romantically attracted to a tom named Eaglepaw, his close friend. His father didn’t approve, and mysteriously disappeared. Sand’s vision was faltering as he aged, and was given the name Sand’sight. He and Eaglefang eventually became mates, however he passed away due to a bad case of red cough. Sand tried not to let it hurt him. As a warrior, he loves training apprentices. His most successful and favorite one was Firepaw, who became Firestalk later on. He also helped train Widowpaw, as his mentor Moonflower had a bad teaching style. Sand’sight was eventually made deputy and remained there for many moons. He gained the title as the fastest of the four clans for a bit, before his early retirement from Deputy. He was reluctant to step down, seeing as it was because of his eye sight. However, he served as a warrior for several more moons before retiring to the elder den. He still hunts some and helps out all he can.

Inspiration

He’s heavily based on the god Hermes, as well as a bit of Apollo. He doesn’t have much inspiration, honestly. I just kinda created him.

Meet Echopaw!!!

Echopaw is a quiet shecat who tends to keep to herself. She’s not very outgoing or social in any ways. She has a brother, Tremblepaw, who is almost like a voice for her. She can normally be found sitting in the back of camp, watching from afar unless she’s out training and hunting.

No one really knows why she hates talking, not even her own brother knows. Many assume it’s because of her parents. No cat knows who their dad was, and Mistymoth never revealed who it was before she died. Echopaw spent most of her kithood being raised by other queens in the nursery.

A little bit of fun facts with Echo is her Anxiety. Even as she grew, Echo had a lasting anxiety with talking to cats of higher authority.

Echopaw’s inspiration came from a friend, who never liked to talk any. The friend who Echo was inspired has been a dear friend since I was a child, and too this day she hasn’t changed much, except for a gain in communication.

Meet Witheredface!!!

Witheredface is a Snarky, Paranoid and Rude, grumpy she-cat. Sometimes she will show others sympathy and be affectionate around other cats. Mostly she likes the “joke around”

Backstory

Her Original name was Spiderkit, Spiderpaw and Spiderfang. She had a brother named Night’kit who died from “unknown” causes. She had a very strict childhood and basically lived by “actions have consequences”. Once she was a warrior she found a mate named Elk’Tail during a gathering. They would sneak with each-other at night but then one night a forest fire broke loose. Her mate died during the fire and half her face was scorched, along with patches of fur from her leg. She had 1 kit named Dusk’kit. Who she loved very much, They were the last family she had. Her named was changed from Spiderfang to Witheredface 8 moons after her warrior ceremony

Fun Facts

-Her pronouns are she/he and shes bisexual with a female preference

-She has Scottish fold genes so her Ears are slightly folded but not so major.

-Originally her name was Gonna be Halfface but that felt a bit boring so it was changed to Witheredface

-She has a Scottish twist to her voice and she sounds a but muffled because of her Neck fluff covering some of her muzzle

-Most of her personality inspiration came from Craig, a Character from South park her personality soon developed to modern Withererface

Bitterpaw!!!

A short, blind medicine cat with a snappy and gloomy personality.

They lived most of their kithood in solitude until Blossompaw took him in. Due to his blindness and frankly, no motivation to try, he was never able to become a warrior apprentice.

Fun facts

•He’s slightly below average apprentice height

•They always keep a spiky leaf behind their ear

•He’s omnisexual and used He/They pronouns! At first,

Bitter was actually going to be named Streampaw then to Streamrock but at some point I decided it did not fit them well enough. Bitter fit better because he, well, happens to be a bitter cat!

He was also going to only be half blind and have a pale yellow eye.

Meet Blazekit!

Blazekit is a firestorm of emotions, though she has a temper and is often known as cruel among the clan

She was a beloved kit to Widow and his mate who now rest with Starclan, she's often found with Cherrykit as the two seem to nag on eachother or seen with Sour who continues to mother and baby her, even though she won't admit she likes it

Blazekit was actually a concept at first, I didn't have a clue what to do with her

I wanted a character who was both mouthy and a coward, yet refused to stand down because they so sure they had to be right, Blaze gave me a chance to explore things, overtime we grew on eachother.

Polydactyl paws if anyone was wondering

Meet Smokestorm!!

Smokestorm is a compassionate, timid at times. He thinks with his heart not head. He’s very family oriented. He tends to be headstrong with his actions, and is a ask for forgiveness later type. He can get stuck in his head and internalizes others opinions.

Backstory

Smokestorm and his, at the time, brother were born on July 24th to their parents Maplesky and Smokerunner. They each choose a name for one child. Smokerunner named Smokekit, While Maplesky named Stonekit. Maplesky was very traditional and was all about gender roles. She believed toms had to be strong warriors and had to like boy stuff. While all she-cats had to have kits. This was an issue for Smokekit, because he liked “girly” stuff, like flowers and butterflies. Smokerunner was a lot more chill, he had a strong bond with his kits. Smokerunner would pass on the stories and legends of the mountain cats they descended from to his kits, as his mother did for him. Both kits went on to believe in both starclan and the mountain cats religion. Smokerunner tought his kits how to make little trinkets and jewelry with clay and coweb. He gave Smoke a butterfly wing to wear on his ear, despite Maple’s protests. One bay while Smokekit and Smokerunner were on their way back from outlook rock when Smokerunner was shot by a twoleg. At first Smokekit tired to pull him with his tiny kit body. He then ran to get help. Smokerunner died 10 minutes after the shot while in the medicine den with his kits by his side. After this Smoke started to show symptoms of PTSD. He was held back from being an apprentice because of this. Stonepaw disappeared a few moons after. Widowtooth made sure Smokekit was a skilled as other apprentices his age. Smoke began to develop feelings for Widow. At 8 moons Smoke began living in the elders’ den. His ears also began to rise. Maplesky decided that Smoke should be over his fathers death already. They got into a major argument that ended in Maple destroying his butterfly wing. He cut contact with her. After 10 moons had passed Smoke was decided mentally well enough to become an apprentice (He was not). Widowtooth was his mentor. He didn’t fit in well with the other apprentices but that didn’t matter because he wasn’t an app for long. He was given his warrior name, Smokestorm. Unknown to him, Maplesky got a new mate and had Morningkit. Later on Maplesky retired and died from the elder log crushing her. Smoke later became deputy.

Fun Facts!

Smokestorm has 6 toes. This is because he is a polydactyl maine coon. He uses his extra toes to make jewelry out of vines, cobwebs and clay.

Smoke follows two religions! One being Starclan and the other has been passed down a few generations. A major part of this religion is your ancestors following you in your reflection.

Smoke is omnisexual with a slight male preference.

He uses He/him pronouns

Smoke was originally gonna have a missguided hero arc. This scraped for something i can’t mention

At first Smoke was going to be an orange tabby she cat named Applestripe. I scraped her in favor of Smokestorm.

Meet Cherrykit!

Being without a mother caused her to be more mature and parental over all compared to most kits her age. She tries hard to fill the gap for her motherless sister. However, she’s always positive and fun loving. She’s social, but a little stubborn at times. She’s very caring and lovable.

Cherrykit is the daughter of Widowstar and sister to Blazekit. She grew up without her biological mother, so she was sort of adopted by the queen Sourflower. She cares heavily about the cats close to her.

Fun Facts

-She’s the oldest and the largest of her and Blaze

-She’s incredibly fluffy - she really likes rabbits and mushrooms.

-She’s scared of snakes

-She’s a Libra

-She doesn’t care much about labeling her sexuality, but she uses she/her pronouns.

To be honest, I had a bit of a hiatus for a bit in a couple sessions. But overall, her personality is sort of based off of Eliza Hamilton in the sense that she’s a kind and sweet she. I also sort of picture her as the type to bottle up emotions and explode. Kinda like me- heh- but yeah. Cherry didn’t have much inspiration initially. I just built her off of the plot.
