picnic for one 🥀
the hot weather we’ve been having recently made me want to draw something suitably sultry!! this is also a soft redraw of a 1780s dress i designed a few years ago in lockdown, i love the huge billowiness of the skirt, hair and hat. i watched the duchess again recently and fell in love with georgiana cavendish’s style all over again <3

so in the last couple of weeks I really wanted to do something whimsical and silly, and after bridgerton aired I saw a lot of people complaining that accurate english court dresses from the regency weren’t included on the show... and i have to agree! these dresses were so out of proportion and crazy and i honestly love them. so i decided to design a few!! enjoy!!
seeing as they’re so rounded, huge and decorative, i decided to design each one around a type of cake (red velvet, pineapple upside-down cake, black forest gateau, and key lime pie). i don’t know about you but i get hungry just looking at these 🍰

hiiii long time no post! i’ve been busy over on instagram instead. i feel like maybe reviving this blog a bit though, so to start, here’s my redesign of Emily Hillsborrow from The Council, a game which I felt had real potential but.... oh good god girl the character designs lmao. This is meant to be a more accurate take on her backless corset atrocity from in-game, a bit more grounded in real fashions of the late eighteenth century!!
I’ve been mostly doing similar design projects like this one, so I’ll try and update here a little more frequently!!

hi all!! it’s been a long time but i wanted to share the characters from my current Good Society game!! this rpg is VERY FUN, d&d but in the world of jane austen, aaa!! I thought I’d try my hand at designing the player characters as little lover’s miniatures!!
from l-r the characters are: Eugenie Gilbert, Captain Wraxall Eldridge, James Lightfoot and Lenora Eldridge. @j-eronimo  @doyoulikebasghetti @hawksquill look it’s our kids!!!

And so she ever fed it with thin tears,
Whence thick, and green, and beautiful it grew,
So that it smelt more balmy than its peers
Of Basil-tufts in Florence; for it drew
Nurture besides, and life, from human fears,
From the fast mouldering head there shut from view...
The grotesque plant-human imagery of Keats’ Isabella never fails to haunt me. I fancied doing something bold, graphic and gory, so here, have a nasty little illustration to match my other narrative poems!

This city is made of our flesh. Every beam, every brick. We’ll have our piece of it.
dont mind me ive just been pining after harlots since i finished it.......when is series 3.... please im dying....
ive been so captivated by the costumes in this show and consistently impressed by the use of colour - i love how vibrant, dayglo, almost hyper-real it feels, and it really adds to the feeling of modernity and relevance it manages to couple so well with historical accuracy. so i thought id use some offensively bright colour pallets to communicate that.  <3

O weary lady, Geraldine, I pray you, drink this cordial wine! It is a wine of virtuous powers; My mother made it of wild flowers.
ive been trying out a new soft watercolour style and some subtle texturisation and im really pleased with how it’s been turning out! so here have an illustration for Coleridge’s Christabel, which puts me in the perfect eerie October mood....

OH god i completely forgot to post these also
We finished our first d&d campaign!! and while we’re definitely coming back to nyph portia and runa (AND GRIBBLE THE KOBOLD) we’re taking a break to do something a little bit different. namely the curse of strahd BUT with 1800s historical/fictional domain characters!!! and its GREAT. so far theres lots of wolves and some of us are quite cursed and we’re only 2 sessions in so lmfao
l-r: irene adler (@j-eronimo) , lord byron (me!), and helena blavatsky (@anonymouschupacabras )
the byron portrait draws heavily on the famous g. h. harlow drawing just to make sure i got that profile juuust right, plus i figured out how to make a sepia effect on firealpaca! for ..... in case they die i guess ........ which is likely
also s/o to @doyoulikebasghetti for being our long-suffering dm. i apologise in advance for all the terrible shit i know im going to do in game

i adore the character designs for this game and crimson court is such a gloriously bloody expansion too, cant tell you how much i love this game’s take on vampires. ive done more headshots than these but these are my personal favourites so far

about a year ago i had an idea for a game where you whizz around space serving various planetary gods. it didnt really go anywhere but i found myself doodling my design for venus again!! she was my fav
she’s not only modelled on the classical venus but also draws from other love goddesses from around the world like hathor, astarte and ishtar, hence the horns...i also made her super glowy just like the planet venus. also i couldnt settle on a colour scheme so here have two lmao
