If you have a medical condition that makes you at high risk for Covid (which is a long fucking list) or you live with or care for someone who does, under the ADA you can require that every person you will come in contact with in a medical facility be masked and that they properly filter the air.

Reminder that people with albinism a) are real people with a condition that makes it pretty difficult to live without being constantly bothered and b) that though it is more common in white people, they can be of any race. POC with albinism are still POC, and often face exclusion from both white spaces and spaces for their race, especially Black people with albinism. This is on top of the health issues that albinism can cause due to the unusual vulnerability of unpigmented skin to UV damage, and the vision problems associated with ocular albinism.

they still post in the ableism tag so just fyi the user worth-beyond-a-number-scale is an able-bodied neurodivergent person who not-so-subtly holds a serious amount of disdain for physically disabled people and prioritizes their own thoughts, feelings, and opinions as an able-bodied person on matters involving (what they see as) ableism and sanism in physically disabled communities to the point of ignoring or blocking and consistently talking over those of us who are - get this - both neurodivergent and physically disabled.
here are some examples of this behavior:

so yeah, if you see this person's posts on ableism (especially if they're ranting about us evil oppressive cripples) i would say it's best to ignore and/or block them.

The problem with white people is that they see racism as actionable, concrete things that have an immediate adverse effect on people of color, and this type of thinking extends to leftists and academics and people who claim to be "allies" and so on and so forth. For some reason it is incredibly hard to grasp that racism is a structural, institutional issue, one that one is complicit in on an individual level, yes, but also even in a society with quote unquote "no racists" (which is impossible but let's pretend here for a second) racism would still impact nonwhite people because it is baked into the very foundation of that society. A supposedly "harmless" idea or comment or implementation or whatever else is not made within a vacuum. White people, however, get upset at even the implication that something they did or said was racist, to the point where the "accusation" of it is worse than the actual racism itself, the fragility on display deflecting away from their own actions and turning it around on those they just hurt and claim to care about. This kneejerk response only serves to alienate nonwhite people, while alleviating the guilt and soothing the white person's conscience without any real change occurring. All that will have happened is that, to accommodate the white person's comfort, the person/people of color in question will have one more acquaintance to be wary of when bringing up matters of race.

misgendering someone isn't bad because "it can cause dysphoria".
misgendering someone is bad because it's fucking disrespectful.
it's not somehow less harmful to misgender someone without dysphoria than it is to misgender someone with dysphoria.

WALT DISNEY PRODUCTION WORKERS NEED YOUR HELP!
Tumblr media
(Posted March 8, 2023) Hey fam! The Mouse is refusing to recognize the unionization efforts of its production workers. If you're not familiar with what PCs or PMs do, I'll outline it briefly. The tl;dr is that NO ANIMATION WOULD GET DONE WITHOUT PRODUCTION WORKERS. They are the glue holding together every single production of your very favorite cartoons!
They take notes in all the meetings with the artists.
They make sure the artists are meeting their deadlines (and showing up to the meetings in the first place).
They help us navigate studio servers to find the files we're looking for.
They send us our time cards, and make sure we get paid!
Production workers do all this and more, often for minimum wage. The hardships that they suffer as a result--the long hours, the unpaid overtime, the abuses of power--are horrific.
You'd really think that they'd be compensated fairly for these jobs! Can you imagine trying to live in Los Angeles or New York on minimum wage with a job that definitely won't allow you time to pick up a second or third one??
This has to stop, and you can help.
All that Walt Disney Animation Studio's production workers ask is that you add your name to this petition! That's it.
This isn't some Change.org petition. It's not going to sell your email to spam companies. This is through IATSE (our union)'s website.
TELL DISNEY YOU STAND WITH PRODUCTION WORKERS!!!

Sending all the love to fat people with anorexia. Sending all the love to fat people with bulimia. Your eating disorder is just as serious as it would be in a thin person, and you deserve just as much support and help in your recovery. I know you don't get that experience when you get sick, and you definitely don't get to experience those positive healing vibes when you choose recovery and stop losing weight. Just know that I see you, that I know it's not fair, and that I believe in your immense worth and the worth of your recovery journey.

Fan artist: *Looks at the single canonically fat character in an entire series that includes 50 thin characters in this world where almost no positive or even neutral fat representation exists*
Fan artists: Okay, but like...what if thin though?? 👀
