feyre and her position as high lady

This is sth thats been talked about in the fandom (especially by anti feyres) so i wanna touch on this today.

I dont know why people try to paint feyre gaining her position as High Lady of Night Court by marrying Rhys as an insult when it’s not. A lot of feyre stans come to her defense by listing out everything she did to save NC and prythian so she should be high lady but my debate is different. Feyre having the position of a high lady should be the norm lol. Historically when rulers marry their spouses do become co-rulers or sth very close to it. when kings take wives they become queens. not Lady. QUEEN. Feyre is the queen. it’s the same way Rowan became King after marrying aelin. or how nesryn will be the future empress. Because they married the ruler/heir to those throne. Feyre did the same.

SJM’s inability to write women in power doesnt mean feyre needs to be diminished. We can have a whole other discussion about how SJM’s world of faes is basically the human world misogyny except faes just live longer and have magic. We can also talk about sjm’s forced gender roles and on her characters even tho these characters are faeries and as such wicked, magical creatures to whom sexuality and gender is meant to be a whole other thing. but nevermind that. sjm’s inability to write good fantasy isnt the point.

the point is what sjm did with feyre was normal lol. feyre married a king and she is the queen. the position of a high lady isnt sth new. it always existed as said by rhys in acomaf when he tells feyre that yes high lady can exist not just high lords. and also him creating the position of a high lady wouldnt be wrong neither would it be sth weird. in the past rulers have created position of power for their spouses/lovers. one example is Hurrem from the Ottoman Empire. The Sultan created the title Haseki Sultan, almost equal to imperial consort, for her. Also i dont want people saying that feyre cant handle political power blah blah when again using women like Hurrem it shows that people can rise from their unfortunate backgrounds to become great political powers💀 Why do you think people were dying to make their daughters queen? It’s because the Queen wields power and influence. Feyre rising in rank bc of marriage isnt anything new or antifeminist. It’s still done in the world today minus the royal title😭😭 do people not marry people from different socioeconomic backgrounds?

I know feyre antis who whine about this are certain stans who then go on to claim another woman as high lady or queen of sth she isnt. u can cry all u want but none of them are ever having what feyre has lol

idk if anyone is interested in reading this but i did start this fic! so if any of you want to read it here it is:

too many skk aus with beast chuuya meeting canon skk and the angst from beast chuuya’s pov cause he craves what canon skk have BUT LISTEN

i offer an alternative au idea with canon skk suffering! that is canon skk meeting ada chuuya. we all know in Beast Afterword asgr mentioned that there is likely a universe where chuuya left pm with dazai and joined ada. now imagine that chuuya ends up in canon skk world due to some ability. imagine canon skk seeing this chuuya who is in the Light bc of Dazai. the realization that chuuya is loyal to pm but his loyalty to dazai outweighs that. the pain that had dazai asked chuuya would have left with him. canon skk having to see ada chuuya casually mention sth about their life and burning with want and jealousy because this version of them didnt suffer like they did. they dont have a 4 year distance. they dont have things that the other doesnt know bc that’s what 4 years do to someone. especially when the transition is from a teenager to an adult. this chuuya would have dazai witness all his change and he’d see dazai’s changes too. they’re on the same side. partners still. can easily reach out for the other, can easily speak about the other without feeling like their heart is twisting. this version of them have everything that canon skk so desperately want but cant have.

this is what we need. we should leave Beast Chuuya alone cause he fr has suffered enough and do this!

the feeling of “why him and not me?” that canon skk will have seeing ada chuuya. canon dazai thinking what did the other dazai have that made chuuya trust him so much as to turn his back on the people he considered family. what did that dazai have that he doesnt?

and canon chuuya thinking what did this chuuya have that made dazai love him so much that he asked him to leave with him. why this chuuya and why not him? what did he lack?

idk where this assumption comes from that lucien deserves elain. every elucien ive come across or ppl who want to push elain towards him always state that he deserves happiness or some bs like why? what has he done that makes him worthy for elain? mind u this man has yet to apologise to feyre for abandoning her in her time of need. this man was about to drag feyre back to sc knowing that she was being abused there. mind u he is a child who grew up watching his mother being abused and treated like crap yet when the opportunity came to help another woman, his claimed friend mind u, he abandoned her. he was totally willing to snitch on feyre if it werent for the fact that he wanted to see elain because he wanted to determine if she ‘was worth it’. those are his words from acowar. he didnt snitch on feyre bc she was his only chance to see elain and not bc he cared about feyre’s choice or anything. he was 0 help to elain when she was suffering through depression. also idk why people keep on pinning the bond breaking on elain? lucien has never shown hes interested in her romantically. lucien keeps on running from her. she’s the human turned fae who lost everything. but somehow the intricacies of their world and a bond that elain likely doesnt even properly understand falls on the woman instead of the dude whos like what?? 200 years old???

lucien has time and time again been nothing but a loser and a disappointment. the only thing that makes people like him is that he has a dick and apparently a sad backstory which all the characters in sjm verse have. sjm stans have a thing for sucking the dick of any average man she writes and the proof is also that there are still people who stan tamlin and eris despite how horrible those two are.

anyways, lucien has contributed nothing of concrete to the storyline. elain has done more. what makes lucien worthy of elain? thats my question here

Anti-El*cien and kinda Anti-Lucien so I would really not read if you’re triggered by that.

I cannot reiterate enough how Lucien has done the BARE minimum for Elain as her “mate”.

Lucien is not “being a gentleman and giving her space/comfort” by living with the band of exiles. He’s AVOIDING her. It’s not polite, he’s literally just dipping out. Because it’s so painfully obvious that ELAIN DOES NOT WANT HIM. And honestly, there’s nothing in his actions to suggest he actually wants her either.

He’s not being a “good male” and thinking of Elain’s feelings. He wants out.

Him gifting her gardening gloves is NOT a good gift, If he actually cared, he’d know that Elain likes to garden with her bare hands. And in the Feysand BC it even says Elain has not used these gloves once. Also, the pearls he gave her? I literally cannot think of a worse or ill fitting jewel to give Elain. Like, he could have chosen anything and he went with pearls?? The jewel you’d give some stuffy old court lady. That’s a “safe” jewel you give to someone you DO NOT KNOW.

I’m just sick of these wild interpretations that Lucien is such a gentleman and a good mate, when he’s done nothing to deserve the title. Or the theory that Elain avoids him because she likes him sooooo much.

SJM has shown us time and again that Elain and him DO NOT FIT.

If Elain was not his mate, Lucien would not give her the time of day. Which he barely does already.

This is why I truly believe their bond is wrong/false in some way. If they were REALLY mates, Lucien wouldn’t be able to stay away like he is. And to an extent, neither would Elain. But they can separate for months without so much as batting an eye. It goes against EVERYTHING we know about mates.

Note- I’ve also been seeing from some El*ciens that “Azriel is like Graysen and that’s why Elain wants him”, and I cannot BELIEVE the reach. 1. We’ve gotten like one scene of Graysen and he was NOTHING like Azriel so where is this comparison even coming from? 2. It’s super disrespectful to Elain and her growth/healing to imply that she would do that. She’s into Az because of how kindly he’s treated her, how they’ve spent time together, and the romantic/connecting moments with her rescue and TruthTeller come ON.

In my opinion, Skk probably didn't do a fake undercover marriage when Dazai was in the PM, because they were 18 at the oldest, but I bet they pretended to be fiancés.

Dazai wants to convince Chuuya they have to do a whole fake proposal to make it believable to their marks and Chuuya's just like "What's a proposal?" Which works in Dazai's favour because Chuuya's curiosity always gets the better of him. He tells him not to worry about it and that Dazai will handle it.

Several days later, they're undercover in a restaurant where they plan to serendipitously meet the targets and Dazai pulls the classic, "I didn't order these drinks, hey whats this in your glass?" Proposal, Chuuya almost freaks out because he has no idea why the whole restaurant is watching them, when they are supposed to be undercover, but Dazai pops the question and he catches on. The marks congratulate them, chance meeting achieved and Dazai got to be a dramatic theatre kid. All is well.

Until later when Dazai's annoying Chuuya and he says "It's a good job I did the proposal, you'd make such a mess of it, I'd have no choice but to refuse to save my dignity."

To which Chuuya obviously takes offence and bets he could out do Dazai's stupid proposal easily.

So every time they have to go undercover, they choose the same story and take turns proposing. Each one getting more and more ridiculous and convoluted. At least once it messes up the whole mission because they get banned from the establishment.

And each time the dumb little speeches they make before they say "Will you marry me?" get just a little more earnest.

(they also have fun breaking off the engagement multiple times coming up with awful lies as to what the other one did to cause it. This also got them barred from at least two places.)

okay thinking dazai who grew up in the creche meeting like 6/7 year old chuuya who was brought in after being discovered as a force sensitive (kinda like anakin). chuuya and dazai growing up together as rivals (in a friendly manner). clone wars starting when they are like 14 and padawan and for the next three years thats how it is. dazai who basically is under the influence of mori who im torn betn making his jedi master (who later turned sith) or mori is a politician and a benefactor to dazai like palpatine was to anakin. thinking of chuuya who was good until his master was killed in the clone wars and turned dark (think like ventress?) due to dazai’s manipulation. the fall of the republic and dazai and chuuya basically being like inquisitors. and thats how it was until oda dies. for him im considering making him a spy for the rebels and he dies to giving them vital info. dazai for him basically turns back to the light and leaves. leaving behind chuuya. like two or so years later they meet again and opposing sides and they clash with chuuya vehemently hating dazai for abandoning him and dazai feeling guilt bc it him who essentially lured chuuya to the dark side.
