Word Counter - Not only does it count the number of words you’ve written, it tells you which words are used most often and how many times they appear.
Tip Of My Tongue - Have you ever had a word on the tip of your tongue, but you just can’t figure out what it is? This site searches words by letters, length, definition, and more to alleviate that.
Readability Score - This calculates a multitude of text statistics, including character, syllable, word, and sentence count, characters and syllables per word, words per sentence, and average grade level.
Writer’s Block (Desktop Application) - This free application for your computer will block out everything on your computer until you meet a certain word count or spend a certain amount of time writing.
Cliche Finder - It does what the name says.
Write Rhymes - It’ll find rhymes for words as you write.
Verbix - This site conjugates verbs, because English is a weird language.
Graviax - This grammar checker is much more comprehensive than Microsoft Word, again, because English is a weird language.
Sorry for how short this is! I wanted to only include things I genuinely find useful.

Because for some reason I really like the idea of Pein being this project manager who tries to control the chaos of his office department. But he somehow avoids burnouts. Usually stoic person with some sort of god-complex going on, he still needs his “rant about everything and stare in to the abyss” moments. Moments like this sketch.

WC’s NaNoPlanMo/Prep-tober Calendar
Say hello to your calendar of events for NaNoPlanMo!
Each day of October is dedicated to a different aspect of planning for NaNoWriMo and will have daily resource masterposts to match! Topics are listed at the bottom of each day!
EVENTS
We will have plan-ins on Fridays and Sundays! An absolute time is TBA for each, but our October 1st plan-in will be at 4:30 P.M. CST on our Slack community! If you haven’t already submitted a member profile, check out details about our NaNo Membership HERE!
Saturday evenings will be dedicated to Feedback Nights! Feedback Nights will be your chance to get live answers and opinions from our Ask Team on all of the things that have you stumped and stuck in your planning process. Hours will be announced soon!
Kickoff Party: This will be on October 31st to celebrate the planning you’ve gotten done and prep you for a fun month of writing ahead! More details to come as we get closer to November!
ONGOING ACTIVITIES
Throughout October, WC will be accepting asks and submissions with any NaNoWriMo or writing related questions! Questions submitted outside of Feedback Nights will be answered by our Ask Team on a rolling basis as members are available.
Don’t forget about our daily planning prompts either! Each day, we will have:
One World-building prompt
One Character prompt
One Craft prompt to directly address a certain aspect of writing craft (like description or dialogue!) and…
One “Wildcard” prompt to shake your planning process and keep things fun and fresh.
WC will also have a submission opportunity called Adventures in NaNo! WC member, @muffindragon227, summed this event up best:
“While the main focus of Nano is on the stories we’re telling, but we often forget that NaNoWriMo is an adventure all its own. We set out with a goal to do something grand and along the way we have ups and downs. We face challenges, and we meet new people. So while we’re eager to hear and talk about your stories, we’d also like to hear about your journey as well. As such, we invite you to submit your experiences for us to share with everyone. Tell us about what’s happening, so we can cheer you on, pick you up, or laugh along with you!”
So if you’ve overheard a conversation that you’re absolutely copying for your story, we want to hear it! If you’ve run across that one perfect but obscure reference, we want to celebrate with you! Submit your stories through our submission box–just don’t forget to include Adventures in NaNo in the title!
Finally, if you’re a WC member or follower, don’t forget to add your name to the WC NaNo Participant List! I plan on adding everyone who joins the list as a NaNo Buddy before NaNoWriMo begins, so be on the lookout for a request from mCubed35!
That’s all for now! Everyone at WC is looking forward to a successful NaNoWriMo season and we can’t wait to get planning and writing with you!
Please reblog this post to spread the word to the NaNoWriMo and writeblr community!

I really want to write this story down and learn to plan ahead my stories and stick to those plans.
I also start blogging, maybe. I don’t know, and that’s fantastic.
The Bastard and The Chosen
I feel like I need to start something new, again. I feel like getting into new things and stuff like that, but first of all, I feel like I need to sort my head a bit.
My plans to start Nanowrimo this year was an easy one. I have done it for four years in a row now, so I don’t feel anxious about that. I’m actually trying to get more out of this year’s NaNoWriMo by making it a chronological writing progress and to ensure I keep it that way, I will write in google drive/doc so that everyone can see. I have the link shared for people interested in following the process of making the first NaNoWriMo draft of “The Bastard and The Chosen”. This is also helping me to come over the fear of showing people my work, but mostly it’s about sticking in the chronological writing.
I also need to make good plans, set lists, scene lists, story clocks, character sheets and everything to keep it as good as I can. I’m already thinking about index cards! In real life. I’m arranging my Scrivener file accordingly and set up the info there. My manual is still going to be my yellow notebook, tho. Being that it’s still going to be the first draft for an original story, it’s going to get a bit drafty anyway.
I have already tackled some things with the project, like the writing language - I’m writing in English which gives an advance of fewer actual words compared to Finnish, but I’m not writing in my native language.
I got excited to receive an email from NaNoWriMo telling about the coming sweep and possibility to make this year’s novel. It really got me thinking do I really want to do this? What if I fail. I have one loss in my account, and it made me lose interest in trying for a couple of years. It felt devastating and it took me too much time to overcome.
But then I realized that you can’t be afraid of failing. This story feels so bad sometimes I can’t help but deem it to fail but at the same time, it feels so easy to approach because it doesn’t feel like I need it to be perfect.
