Can I just say this one thing that I absolutely love love about when people comment on my fics?

All comments make me happy, any engagement with my stories gives me a lil rush that I love. But my favorite thing is when a commenter notices a theme/direction to your writing that you yourself didn’t realize you were doing, and when they point it out, you’re like WOW i actually love this idea and I should really consciously develop this point now. I love that moment, because it’s validating of your unconscious writing style but also helps you grow as a writer, too. Straight up, so many times a comment/review on a fic has actually changed the direction of that fic. Never underestimate how your comment may spark an idea for the author!

Tied for my favorite thing is when a commenter is like “you really captured this feeling so well” when it’s exactly what you were going for! Like!! Yes!! Reader!!!!! Thank you for getting what I was trying to convey!!!!!!! You are so wonderful!!!!!

I sketched Mondo And Kiyotaka to commemorate my first ever fic I published on AO3. And the passing of two years since I last updated. To update again. I’m hopeless I know, but seriously everytime I’m like “ya ok I guess I’ll never finish it” some sweetheart reads it and comments something like, “I hope you haven’t abandoned this” And there I go again, writing another chapter. 

That’s probably one of the worst things I can do to myself as a writer and one of the worst things I can do to readers, but hey. If it’s an eternity project of mine, who cares.(Maybe ppl who actually read it do but like is hard I’m trying my best, I love you guys and thanks for putting up with me)
