BRADLEY 'ROOSTER' BRADSHAW:

If you had a rough day probably the first thing that he would do is just hug you. And by hug you I mean like full on bearhug you.

You would still be in work clothes, fighting tears as you pushed the door of the house open when he would just engulf you.

He would also stay there for as long as you needed him to. Eventually you would sort of pull away from each other but only for a few minutes as he would help you get settled in.

You would both be wearing the softest and most comfiest clothes imaginable as you settled into the couch.

He probably would have prepared some kind of warm comfort drink or a whole bunch of random comfort food when he heard you were having a bad day.

Bradley also had this kind of sixth sense when it came to you so he already had the perfect movie chosen out and ready to go on the tv.

You would spend the rest of the night chatting in between scenes and also crying a bit more… but you knew that you were safe around him and that he would always be around to help in any way he possibly could.

Also he would probably threaten (playfully) to hurt the person that annoyed you, you knew that he would never do such a thing - he’s just a big softie but it was the thought that counts right?

NATASHA 'PHOENIX' TRACE:

Ok she would probably not so playfully threaten to murder a few of the people who annoyed you… including anyone that just looked at you wrong.

She’s a sweetheart to you though, after you had texted her to tell her you weren’t doing great she probably would have dropped everything and started to prepare some of your favorite desserts - she’s secretly a really good baker…

You might have arrived home fighting tears and the first thing that she would do is sort of just hold you and tell you to just let it all out.

You had been there through some of her worst moments so you sort of both knew how to deal when this sort of thing happens.

Nat would probably urge you to have a shower or maybe even made up a whole elaborate bath thing so you could relax. After you probably wouldn’t watch anything instead you would sit in bed and read your respective books with bodies entwined in comfort.

Nat was the best at giving cuddles and you would both be covered in mounds of blankets as you exchanged your favorite quotes.

You would fall asleep cuddled up close to each other as soft jazz music played in the background and the fireplace crackled from next to your bed.

JAKE 'HANGMAN' SERESIN:

He probably would have driven a little too fast to pick you up from work but who cares about speeding rules when he needs to get to you? (please do care about speeding rules DO NOT ACT LIKE JAKE in this situation)

He would find you standing outside of the office fighting off an incoming panic attack and he would quickly know what to do. Jake would probably get you calmed down first before getting you bundled into the seat.

Throughout the whole ride back home he would probably be holding your hand and playing all of your favorite songs on the radio.

Jake doesn’t like other people to see that he actually has a heart sometimes - hence acting like an asshole most of the time but when he’s with you he knows he’s safe to just love you.

When you’re home he probably makes your comfort food for dinner and serves it to you in bed before cuddling in to watch whatever show you’re both loving at the moment.

Also FOREHEAD KISSES.

All that time in bed you would be enclosed in Jake’s arms and he would play with your hair constantly, something that eases you into dreamland quickly after finishing your wonderful dinner.

Since I just can’t not think about how Roy x Jamie could still happen and my dream scenario for the next episode, I’ll just drop this here for fanfic writers looking for ideas since none of this will happen and I know I'm too lazy to write this myself 😂

(Jamie was in two promo pics so he’ll probably be a background character with zero lines but some great pantomimes)

Jamie won’t be called up for England to play in the qualifications for the World Cup in Qatar, which is a downer at first, but he soon recovers (he’s a battler after all). And he still could make the cut for the actual World Cup team (I don’t know if this is how it works with the teams, but I doubt the show would care). Therefore, Roy and he have some extra intense training while everyone else is on break. Finally, we get a proper training montage to the tune of “Physical” by Olivia Newton-John.

(Sam also won’t be called up for Nigeria since Akufo is a piece of shit. 😞 But he’ll focus on his restaurant during the break, which is Akufo’s next target on his irrational mission to ruin everything good for Sam. But this will lead to Sam and Simi bonding some more and becoming an official couple. And Rebecca somehow gets Akufo to stop with his scheming. (He probably wants to buy Richmond to kick Sam off the team…) Maybe thanks to a bet similar to the dart competition with Rupert.)

But back to our main guys.

Roy is still pondering what he wants out of life (For once this season he hasn’t forgotten the lesson he learned between episodes!). During a training session, he asks Jamie what Jamie wants out of life. Jamie answers something like “I just want to live life as me!” which initially has Roy rolling his eyes. Until Jamie explains that most of his life he has lived as the man his dad wanted him to be instead of being true to himself. And that he wants to become the best version of himself to finally deserve to be loved and cared for. (And Roy looks puzzled like “??? But everyone already loves and cares about him???? Even me.”, but of course doesn’t say so…)

Then something along the lines of “I wanted and got a lot of things for the wrong reasons, so … maybe it is better not to get what you want but what you need.”

Jamie also comes out as bisexual during this exchange. He tells Roy how Colin’s coming out and everyone’s acceptance made him think maybe he can actually be bisexual. Instead of always hiding this part of himself, just because his dad hated it when he got the notion Jamie might be into boys.

(All of this then sets up that Jamie turns down the offer to play for England in Qatar, since he won’t support a World Cup in a country where they still have strict anti-gay laws. Clarifying that it is more important for Jamie to be the best, most authentic version of himself instead of being the best and most successful footballer he could become)

Keeley loses KJPR since Jack pulls the funding. And she realises the firm was something she might have wanted, but not what she had actually needed at this point in her life.

When Keeley goes to Rebecca to talk about this, she runs into Jamie in the hallway, they have a sweet exchange (he encourages her not to give up on her dreams), that is witnessed by Roy who has this yearning, slightly jealous expression (Cue for Isaac to talk about body language and something along the lines of “Sorry, coach, looks like she’s over you”)

Roy and Jamie do a school visit similar to the one with Ted and Roy in “Trent Crimm, the Independent”. Jamie meets Phoebe and Ms Bowen and while they interact, there is a similar wistful shot of Roy pondering … something. (Trent is there for his book and looks at Roy like “I know what you are”)

(Alternatively, Phoebe’s team visits Nelson Road and that is where the locker room stills are from—I just want Jamie to meet Phoebe!)

In a later scene, Roy is watching TV with Phoebe, getting snacks while some commercials run.

Cut to Keeley slouching on her couch, watching the same station as Roy and Phoebe.

And then Jamie’s bantr commercial plays. He says something super profound. That he is looking for a relationship where they help each other become the best version of themselves and support each other in reaching their life goals. This visibly moves Keeley.

Cut back to Roy and Phoebe. Roy tells Phoebe he has to go somewhere, to get what he really needs.

And then “You can’t always get what you want” by the Rolling Stones starts playing, while Roy makes his way to his unknown destination. Is it Keeley? Ms Bowen? (Spoiler, it is neither!)

(The song is both a callback to Jamie comparing him and Roy to Mick Jagger and Keith Richards AND to “She’s a Rainbow” playing while Roy returned to Richmond. And the chorus very well suits the theme of the episode as I wrote it in my head.

Edit: I also just noticed they used this song for the season 3 trailer, which I had totally forgotten about, so it would make even more sense to pick it up at some point later in the season)

And we get a montage of what is going on in the other characters’ lives, finishing of their storylines for this episode.

Rebecca has realised throughout the episode that she wants to give Sam another shot. But when she reaches Ola’s she sees Sam and Simi being cute together and kissing. Rebecca turns around, runs off and slams into someone. She drops her phone and when she reaches down to get it, the other person does the same. Cue to them looking at each other and … it is Dutch Guy! (And at last Rebecca gets to see his penis!)

Feeling sympathy for Bex, Nate leaked information to the press about Rupert's cheating (just like he did with Ted, but this time it is for the greater good!!!). Rupert finds out who the source is and tears Nate down verbally, really humiliating & insulting him to the core (to stress the stark difference between Rupert and Ted). In the end, Rupert threatens to fire Nate if he makes another mistake. Nate is devastated at first, but finds comfort with Jade. She is proud of him for exposing Rupert for the cheating asshole he is and reassures Nate (who is a worried mess about possibly losing his job) that she likes him and not his money and fame.

(At first I wanted Rupert to outright fire Nate, but Rupert probably wouldn’t want more bad publicity by firing the Wonder Kid AND it would be a better end for Nate’s arc if he is the one walking away from Rupert.)

Someone rings at Keeley’s door, but … it is not Roy, it is Barbara. She tells Keeley that she quit her job with Jack since she is sick of collecting snow globes. She rather wants to build a business with Keeley. (And for the rest of the season Keeley works on building her own little PR firm, slowly growing instead of suddenly being overwhelmingly BIG because of funding and expectations, with AFC Richmond as her primary client.)

(Also something with Ted, but I haven’t settled on some specific scenario. Maybe some realisation that the team may want him to stay but they don’t need him anymore, therefore it is better for him to leave so they can grow on their own. I’m fairly certain he’ll leave—or at least he decides to leave—by the end of the series, but it might be too early for him to actually come to this realisation. Either Trent or Rebecca or both will play a big part in his storyline this episode)

Next cut is Jamie on the couch, reading a book about football tactics. It rings at his door, and when he opens, *gasp*, it is Roy, a bit breathless and sweaty from running too fast. Jamie is a bit confused. Roy explains he has finally realised what he wants out of his life and that he maybe not get it, but he has to at least try. Then Roy confesses to Jamie that he wants him. A brief moment of hesitation before they kiss.

Fade to black and the end credits start rolling.

OR, if they go for a more gut-wrenching scenario and Jamie x Keeley x Roy endgame: Roy reaches Jamie’s house just in time to see Keeley standing at the door, both of them talking and then Keeley going in for a kiss. Shot of a very sad Roy turning away while Keeley and Jamie retreat into the house.

I don't write, I don't really engage with fanfics all that much either. But let me pitch my idea for the third Knives Out movie, and if someone wants to write it, they'd be more than welcome to do so.

(under the cut so it's easier to ignore if you don't care 👌🏻)

Philip forces Blanc to take a vacation because his last case was either too dangerous so he needs to chill for a bit, or too long and they've missed each other. The point is that Blanc does not want to take a break, but does it for Philip's sake. They go to the english countryside (nothing funnier than two english men playing tourists in their own home lol). They satay in a lovely B&B (or something) full of colorful characters, the normal murder mystery characters, you know the ones. An old rich woman with the young sad looking girl that helps her, a young couple in their honeymoon, buisness man, idk those kinds of people. Benoit and Philip being the weird bikering gay couple everyone wants to befriend.

Blanc spends the whole time seeing suspicious things and trying to investigate everything cause he's bored and he's trying to make up a case. Philip spends the whole time trying to get Blanc to relax and stop being such a downer. At some point the rich lady looses her pearls or some shit and starts blaming the other guests in the hotel/ b&b / whatever it is and Blanc jumps at the oportunity for a case, but turns out she just missplaced them and they find them pretty quickly.

One night, at two in the morning there's a knock on Benoit and Philip's room door and Blanc gets up to answer, it's the honeymoon woman, and she looks scared. She says "I'm so sorry Mr. Blanc, I didn't know who else to go to. My husband disappeared". Blanc is very excited but can't show it cause he's a decent man and the poor woman is so sad, so he lets her in to a little living room (ish) space in his room, and goes get dressed. He opened the door in his pajamas, stripey pajamas including a sleeping hat, you know, because he dresses like a cartoon character. Anyways, he goes into the bedroom but the camera stays with the woman, so you can only hear Blanc and Philip's conversation in the background. There's a lot of "oh come on man we're on vacation!" from Philip and a lot of "but her husband is missing! what would you do if I was missing?" and finally Philip shouting "alright, FINE!" seconds before the door opens and Blanc is more appropriately dressed and asks the woman to explain everything, while Philip (still in his pajamas, but like normal real life human ones) goes to make some tea for everyone, still looking annoyed.

I don't know what the case would be, but you know, as usual, everyone is a suspect, everyone has motives, everyone has oportunity but it was done in a weird and convoluted way. The only thing that matters to me is the gay domestic moments, and I want Philip to help with the case pls skjfskdf

Colourful Interview (Munday Meme) - Accepting!

In the most simplistic explanation, starting this blog was a combination of the following things:

I was roughly a year and a half into my current job and I really, really needed a creative outlet. To put it blankly, my job can be a stressful downer quite often and many of my hobbies aren't really things I participate in every day (exercise isn't a hobby, it's a necessity for me).

I knew I didn't want to write a fanfic series. I wanted to go back into collaborative writing, but mostly I didn't want to juggle handling both an AO3 account and a blog to support/promote the account. I could do it, but honestly, it felt too much like work and when I inevitably lost interest in whatever fic series I was writing, I was certain I'd probably piss some people off for not finishing things (which...I did end up doing. Sorry about that! My unfinished fics will stay buried).

Group RPs, after several failed attempts for about 5-6 years or so on this site, were a no-go. I wasn't about to depend on (unreliable) mods to ensure I had a place and people to write with.

I'd just finished my first part-watch, part-playthrough of DR2 after watching the first game's anime years back. I'd forgotten about DR until mid-2018 or so, where it popped up either on tumblr or youtube. The characters looked more interesting to me than the DR1 cast (Though Byakuya and Celestia are still dear to me). I watched/played, I enjoyed, I immediately was amused that there was a European royal character with an interest in anime, horror movies, serial killers, and cults. A+ interests with A+ personality, just mildly annoyed at the time she was underutilized and written poorly. But rich people problems? One of my favorite things, if not favorite thing, to write.

After a convention in mid-2019, I wanted to keep fandom going in my life outside of cons and cosplay. I was at a point where I was torn between writing Haru from Persona 5 and Sonia, but Sonia won out as 1. There was no way I could figure out how to play P5 the game and not just watch P5 the anime. I'm shit at video games. I did not grow up with them and 9 times out of 10, I will choose to read a book or watch TV/a movie over playing a video game. Just my preference. 2. I liked the overall plot and message of DR but, again, the execution was poorly done (not the executions, but the story and character development). 3. I'd spent nearly 20 years, off and on, writing not-so-nice characters for the most part and wanted a change. You know the sort of badass, fighting, tough female characters or the sassy know-it-all or the flirty, clever temptress type of characters? Yeah. I wrote them for a long, long time. 4. I knew I could do a lot with Sonia, her European royal background, and her interests, hobbies, struggles, strengths, etc.

Okay, maybe that wasn't simple after all, but it was a lot of factors that fell into place that made this type of blog and this muse the ideal writing outlet for me.

what kinds of things do you like to do for fun?

Want to lead with that I really appreciate the ask, and that the fact this answer is kind of gloomy isn't meant to bring you down or anything... it's just me being honest

And if I'm honest everything keeps getting harder and harder to have much fun with

There's old games I like playing, but it's a pain to get them working and I never feel like I'm making much progress, so I often only play for a couple minutes

Minecraft is always cool, but I've really been lacking focus more and more lately

Can't get back into woodworking till I manage to get this commission that's been done for over a year sent out, just doesn't feel right trying to work on something new when that still needs to get to the person it's for, who I really enjoyed working with

I don't know... not to give a downer answer, but truthfully a lot of the time these days it's really hard for me to find anything fun to do

The past few days I've slowly been working on my Terra Invicta playthrough where I'm trying to get every country merged into a single country, but I'm doing a lot of save scumming with it, and with the long load times it takes a while to make stuff happen, so that's really in the background

So I'll pop open lotro, find I really don't want to play... then just kind of sit there flicking a youtube video off and on and not really managing to find anything I actually want to do

Just really hard to find much that's enjoyable to do that I don't end up feeling worn out trying to focus on, so I wish I'd at least do unenjoyable stuff like cleaning if I'm not having fun anyway, but I really don't do that either

Anyway... sorry again about the answer to all this. Really do appreciate the ask, it's kind of you to be interested and I assume also trying to spin me out of my gloomy mood

tonight, i'm gonna get a little personal. i hate bringing up past traumas because no matter how much i move on from them, they still sting. besides, i think it'll be clearer as i continue explaining.

you told me you wanted a new account, with new friends and a new plot. as much as i hated to admit, i felt my heart sink to my stomach the moment you said it. you seemed excited about it too. i got flashes of memories i'm still trying to forget about. this has happened to me before. that person said the exact same thing too. that even if he rebrands, it was still me. it was always gonna be me. guess, what happened? i was forgotten. i was left to process a relationship that ended in such a manner. i didn't even get to put up a fight. cause apparently that account was out of my jurisdiction. funny, right? jurisdictions appear when they fall for someone else. i was left to pick up the pieces. i'm sorry to be a downer and say i'm uncomfortable with it. but.. i just am. it won't take long before people fall for you the same way i did. so, that's the story. it isn't as dramatic as most of my stories but it doesn't mean it hurt any less.

i might also be crying as i type this. i'm sorry i know how much you hate seeing me cry. i just can't help it. plus, taylor swift is playing in the background as i type this. it's making the mood more depressing. i don't know what to do from here. do i tell you? do i let you?

Okay so y'all are sleeping on the After Buzz interview!!! There's SO MUCH Klance goodness to unpack here, it's full meta worthy.

Okay, so I'm sure by now everyone who regularly views the Klance tag has seen a short 20-30 second video clip from this interview going around. We're all pretty hyped about it (as we should be!)

For those who haven't seen that clip because they live under a rock: it's basically a 45 minute interview all about The Fued episode.

Here's the thing though: that 20-30 second video clip does NOT even CLOSE to do justice to the significance of Klance hinted at in this interview!! That clip isn't even the best part, imo! I highly recommend, before you even scroll down to read this meta, that you click on that video and watch from about 34:50 to about 37:20. That's the clip I'm gonna write about.

Watched it? Okay. Good.

Now listen up.

Somebody was in the Klance tag earlier tryna get people down by saying the interviewer was the one who brought up Klance, but if you watch the video clip I reccomend above, that's not true at all.

The interviewer was asking in general about how they decided who would pick who at the end of the episode. Lauren is the one who brought up Keith and Lance and their dynamic, pretty much out of the blue.

The interviewer asked how they decided who was gonna pick who, and they're talking about who wrote the episode, giving Tim credit, etc.

Lauren started saying Bob was trying to get the better of the team, and having them all choose someone besides themselves and having everyone get chosen, and show they all respect each other, was the only way to beat Bob.

But JDS had a different view.

JDS: "I think Bob was just trying to help them realize it. I don't think he had it out for them, I think he was--his endgame was, like, I want these guys to work."

I know JDS was trying to sound like he was referencing the entire team here - but honestly? I don't think he was.

I say that because, when I first watched this episode as a Klance shipper, this was the exact thought I had regarding Klance. I flipped because I was thinking, "Wowza, Bob's really out here tryna bring Keith and Lance together, huh. Number one Klancer right there, ol' Bob." I've always thought that Bob was low key trying to play matchmaker for Klance and this kinda sort of confirms that in a way, I think.

JDS: "We were like 'how's this gonna happen?' then we read it and we were like '...oh that's pretty smart, yeah.'"

LM: "That is a good way for that to happen."

JDS: "It all worked out, yeah."

I don't understand how this relates to the team as a whole.

I don't understand how this relates to the team platonically choosing each other.

They all like and respect each other. We already know this. What does JDS mean by "how its gonna happen"? How is what going to happen?

Good way for what to happen, LM?

Keep in mind, Bob is essentially an all-knowing deity. If Keith and Lance have romantic feelings for each other, he for sure knows, and was trying to help them realize it just like JDS said.

After this, the interviewer continues on talking about Keith and Lance dynamic and how theres always gonna be that little bit of antagonism between them even though they're mostly getting along now. The interviewer even brings up the "dont miss" snippet scene that pretty much everyone but Klancers brushed off in season 7.

And if you listen while the interviewer is talking about Keith and Lance and their dynamic, LM is kind of saying "yeah" in the background in a weird way, like she kind of sees, the same way I do, that the interviewer is thinking along a line of Klance.

It sounds like she maybe doesn't want to talk about it? It's hard to explain, just listen to it.

And LM kinda awkardly says "aww" at one point while the interviewer is talking about Keith and Lance dynamic. Like I'm sorry but..why aww? And why so awkwardly?

I think LM's mind is thinking in a way geared toward Klance/not spoiling Klance in these last few moments of the interview and she's trying to placate. Again, it's hard to explain, just listen for yourself.

The same person in the Klance tag earlier who was tryna get people down pointed out that, after this, JDS compares Keith and Lance to a relationship he has with a buddy of his. Debbie downer said JDS thinks of Keith and Lance as friends.

I dont think so.

I think they say little things like this to kind of hint at Klance without straight up spoiling Klance. They throw in comments like that to throw water on the fire, so to speak, to keep people from catching on.

(Also: he's not wrong at all. At this point in the show Keith and Lance ARE buddies. It's slow burn. They aren't romantic yet - but they will be.)

But also...RIGHT after JDS makes the buddy comparison is when the moment happens of LM talking, the popular 20-30 second clip that's been going around tumblr.

This is the part I'm sure you've all seen. Lauren says that Lance is maturing, moving on, and opening up by calling Keith the future. She also puts emphasis on Keith's name. "I think KEITH is the future."

And after this is yet another moment that negative peeps are tryna bring KICKers down with; Lauren says Keith is so perturbed by the whole game show thing that he doesn't put much thought into who he chose.

But...that doesnt quite add up.

Earlier in the interview, they were talking about how Keith is just so calm through the whole thing.

LM and JDS said it's because they couldn't really get a hold of Steven Yeun to revoice the lines in a more concerned tone. They make a joke about how he's not exactly easy to get ahold of (lmfao yeah we've noticed.)

Then JDS points out that it really works out, actually, that Keith is so calm, because after flying magical mechanical space lions to form a giant magical mechanical space man, there's likely very little that could perturb Keith at this point, so his meh attitude toward the game show makes sense.

That doesn't add up with him being "so perturbed" by the game show thing that he just chooses at random.

Either he's calm and collected during the game show or he's not. It can't be both ways.

So did Keith choose Lance with a calm and clear mind, or was he shaken and choosing at random? They were very inconsistent with this.

But imo? Keith isn't one to get very riled up or perturbed by things like this. Keith also isn't one to make such an important life or death decision of who should be free to leave without putting any thought into it. That doesn't match his character at all.

LM and JDS did something they often do here, which is the good cop bad cop routine.

One of them hints at Klance, then the other pulls back and tries to make it seem less romantic. Then the one who tried to make it seem less romantic hints at Klance themselves, and the one who originally hinted at Klance tries to ease it back a little.

They do this constantly when discussing Keith and Lance in any way. It's like a rhythm they've got going to stoke the flames and then splash a little water in; not starting a wildfire, but not putting it out completely.

Another thing I noticed: they said earlier on in the video that, originally, the game show was meant to be the final episode before they got back to earth.

Originally, the stakes for the game show were supposed to be "win and you basically get wormholed back to your solar system."

They decided to switch the episode order around because it didn't feel right to have them get back to earth right on the heels of a silly game show; it made the stakes seem like they were less serious, and they didn't want that (makes perfect sense! Good call!)

One note of specific pessimism for Klancers after season seven was that we got that one he's like, the future moment and then Lance turns right around and is angry and snapping at Keith in the episode where they were going space mad.

This made a lot of Klancers lose hope because they felt like any potential was fizzled out when that one moment early on in the season was almost all the Klance we got (I personally think there were more Klance moments than just the Fued in season seven, and I even think Lance snapping at Keith about running away was a low key Klance moment, but that's another meta for another time.)

But...apparently...the space mad episode was originally meant to come BEFORE the Fued.

Y'all know what that means?

It means that, originally...Lance was going to snap at Keith about running away...and then he was going to call Keith the future later on.

This makes a hell of a lot more sense in the terms of Klance being a slow burn. It was the change of episode order that threw us.

Also notice that...they didn't specifically talk about any other characters or the relationship between any othercharacters. They JUST talked about Lance and Keith.

The interviewer asked in general how they decided who was going to choose who...and the showrunners just straight up spent three minutes talking about Keith and Lance without a single mention of the other three paladins.

The interviewer didn't bring up Klance. Lauren brought up Klance. The interviewer saw the opportunity and started digging a little, AFTER Lauren brought it up.

I just...

You guys.

All of this, plus the fact that the Garfle Warfle Snick logo is an exact replica of the irl Dating Game logo, plus the fact that Josh Keaton said this episode contains "a lot of foreshadowing," plus the way Lance looked so kind and soft when he called Keith the future, plus the confused looks Pidge and Hunk had when Lance and Keith chose each other, like they sense this was more than a bro moment?

Guys. Come on.

Hey how are you? Have you seen the new video because I have and I'm sobbing!! So yeah that's really all I was just wondering like your thoughts and stuff on it. Sorry this is really spacey lol -🐛

I have watched it actually… I’ll leave my thoughts below.

So I knew a lot of us were expecting Roman angst and we did get a hint at it but I was living for the Logan angst. To me, I think a lot of what I thought Logan had to work through got brought out into the open today. So I kinda think his angst will be postponed for a while.

There was a lot in this video and a lot to unpack… I loved a lot of it and I am aware there are things as a reader of a lot of fanfic I am not excited to be brought back.

Logan’s puppet being a robot will probably bring back that he is unfeeling as well as his pun or wordplay about felt. It is a fun trope to play with but considering he threw something at Roman we know he experiences rage and therefore has feelings so it isn’t accurate. Logan not being able to shift back is interesting and I think it applies more to him when they aren’t turning into humans (Making Some Changes) I think it has to do with him being logic and therefore he has trouble going back.

It is interesting to note that while Virgil wasn’t comfortable participating in the hogwarts video the other’s understood but for this video, they seemed to chalk up logan not wanting to do it as him being a downer and other negative connotations.

There will be ample opportunities for angsty moxiety if people so chose to write it. I think it would be worked out in most cases but that is a pairing that a lot of people end up not writing a ton of angst for especially Patton heavy angst. But there are some very soft parts to it too like their highfive, the hug, them being gentle and excited to be with each other.

Roman did a good job of trying to talk about his angst but I do not think this will be the last we hear of it.

Something about some of the looks that both Patton and Virgil gave at times made me think something else is up and I don’t know what.

It is canon that Patton not only hides his feelings but it seems like he was casually forcing the others too as well, that he doesn’t like conflict so it was easier to keep everyone occupied than to have a screaming match specifically between Logan and Roman (who really did have bleeps in the background).

Virgil is aware of the fact that he had to put on a dark persona so that people would listen to him.

Logan also admits that someone has to be serious….therefore his character shift from the early episodes.

Overall this video hit on some important topics and was beautifully done. We saw character growth from the characters as well as growth from Thomas and his team as they strive to explore new forms of story telling and to be relatable. This video while it has angst it definitely feels like the characters being a family more than some in the past.

you have done a meta on regarding robin so I'm gonna ask if you could please do one on "wildfire" from the 2003 teen titans go comics (starfire backstory was my fave part of that issue 😁)

Aaaaaaah, that issue omg.

SO SAD.

So we open up on a lovely day at Titans Tower and Starfire is zooming all around the sky above an assortment of Titan cameos.

(Including Kid Flash, Jinx, Wonder Girl, and Red Star.)

Starfire is clearly super-excited and gleeful and just look at the cute smile Robin has on his face watching her aaaaaah!

The Honoraries start musing about Wildfire, Starfire’s baby brother, apparently having turned up after many years of being lost. And it’s Robin who begins the story.

He doesn’t seem particularly upset about Starfire having kept her brother a secret from him all these years, at least not to the extent he was about not knowing she was a princess in “Betrothed”.

(’course he had other reasons to be peeved there, lol.)

Aaaaaaand right into Starfire’s tragic backstory.

People seriously don’t give Starfire enough credit, just because she’s bubbly and has a positive, happy personality. She is a survivor. She comes from a planet that experienced a war of attrition so awful it literally changed the planet’s ecosystem.

I can’t even imagine the kind of constant firebombing and frequency of attacks it would’ve required to turn that lush green paradise up in those top panels into the bottom one.

And it’s STILL a barren desert years later when the Titans visit!

So yeah. The Tamaranians got spanked hard by the Gordanians. That they held the lizards off from full invasion for five years speaks a great testament to their resilience.

Robin tells the others about Wildfire–that Starfire’s parents decided to send him away to keep him safe. Put him in a little bottle rocket ala Superman’s parents and everything. And then we get this bit of insight about Blackfire:

And for some inexplicable reason fandom really hates Starfire for this.

In the comics, the reasons behind Blackfire being the Unfavorite were definitely more serious–major prejudice against her for having dark hair, the Citadel attacking Tamaran on the day she was born, making her seem like a bad omen. So I can sort of understand people missing that angle and wanting to have that in the toonversion but, well… different universes and different continuities gonna be different and Toonverse Blackfire has always been kind of a petty bitch. So her hating Starfire for being pretty and nice is actually perfectly in character.

And besides, remember who’s telling this story.

Robin is.

You know, the boy who’s in love with Starfire and thinks the world of her. Clearly he has some biases in play. XD

And anyway, there’s also the fact that even though Blackfire’s the oldest, her baby brother Wildfire is set to inherit the throne. That’d cause some resentment.

(Presumably she moved up in rank after they sent Wildfire away, hence Starfire saying she was “second in line for the throne” in “Betrothed”.)

Anyway, Blackfire arranges a truce with the Gordanians and basically allowed them to finish conquering Tamaran. And after they took Starfire away, her parents both up and died.

Which means Starfire didn’t know they were dead in “Go!”

Which means she had to learn about it by proxy after the fact.

Just… OUCH.

No wonder she considers Earth to be more her home than Tamaran now.

This is one of the many things that people once again don’t give Starfire credit for, especially in regards to her relationship with Robin. They assume that because she’s kind and nice and sweet to everyone that she must never have truly suffered in her life and thus can’t understand or sympathize with Robin’s Inner Turmoil and Pain.

As if his problems were so incomprehensible when like 99% of teen superheroes are orphans.

And this issue proves just how much Starfire does understand Robin. She’s an orphan too. She knows what it’s like.

Robin finishes telling Starfire’s backstory in time for the ship to arrive with Wildfire in tow. And, spoilers, it actually isn’t him, but Madame Rouge pretending to be him.

But please enjoy these miscellaneous adorable scenes of the cute Tamaranian sibs anyway.

Robin’s smile in the background there ahsdlahfal he’s so happy that Starfire’s so happy!

(OH CRIPES IT HURTS IT JUST HURTS.)

Robin is the first to begin to express doubts about “Wildfire”, perhaps noticing how he seems to know much more about Earth than he should (or picking up on his line “Life is full of disappointments.” which Jinx could tell him comes straight from Madame Rouge’s mouth). He confesses his misgivings to Galfore.

Later he apparently shares his concerns with Starfire, and both of them plus Beast Boy confront the imposter after she’s taken out Raven and Cyborg.

Starfire doesn’t even look angry, just sad and disappointed ow my heart.

Madame Rouge attacks and Robin tackles Starfire out of the way.

During the ensuing scuffle there’s this cute bit:

Madame Rouge slips past their guard and escapes.

And all Robin can do is put his hand on her shoulder and tell her that he’s sorry.

The halting hesitation in his voice here is almost like he doesn’t even have a clue what to say. What can he say? Nothing really, so he’s just going to be there for her. Express the same anger and sadness with her.

The last we see, he’s watching after Starfire sadly as she goes to confront Blackfire.

Who may or may not have been involved in the plot, but certainly gave Madame Rouge enough information about Wildfire that she could impersonate him at least for a while.

And Starfire disowns her sister, vowing that she’s going to find her brother anyway. A sad downer ending for the issue, and sadly the last we ever have of this plot thread.

Save for fanfics.

Robin is mostly just kind of a quiet support for Starfire in this issue, and he plays the part wonderfully, and reinforces just how caring and sensitive he can be when it comes to Starfire. It’s a little bit of sweetness in the midst of such a bitter trick. And it’s lovely.
