ik we discuss fexi being simps for each other but what do you think is the thing for each of them they do not budge on? like ik you’ve discussed fez’s refusal at having her involved in his business, but anything else? and what do you think Lexi is resolute on her ground towards him?

This is really interesting! Gosh, I have been so preoccupied with the obstacles presented by Fezco's life as a drug dealer that I haven't even properly considered the mundane issues they might face as a couple.

For things they won't budge on... The thing about Fez’s refusal to involve Lexi in the drug world is that it is a matter of her physical and psychological safety. I don’t know if there’s any other subject matter that he would be really obstinate about refusing to discuss with her. I feel the same way about Lexi, I think that they are very open with each other, I think they are all about communication. They’re a pair of chatterboxes with each other!

But there are definitely things that they would get annoyed about the other, that would stir arguments, that they probably learn to avoid speaking about and to agree to disagree.

With Lexi, being the driven, type A person that she is, I’m sure that she would find it very frustrating that Fez lacks ambition. It’s because he was never given the space to want to achieve for himself, because he doubts himself, but it’s also because he’s a very peaceful, very wise person who understands that happiness isn’t necessarily derived from professional success. Lexi would find it frustrating because she sees so much potential for him, but with time she would come to understand that they have a different understanding of things here.

I can also picture her wanting him to cut back on the weed, after a while. Not at any point early on in their relationship, and she would always be sensitive to how it helps him with his anxiety, trauma and possibly his injury, but I do think that down the track she would want him to be less dependent. Same goes with cigarettes! “Bennett, the cigarettes are killing me!”

As for Fez, well, I can imagine him maybe getting defensive around Lexi if she ever raises questions about his grandma. She’s protective over him and I think a big part of her would be angry at Marie for imposing the life of a drug dealer onto a child, and that’s without even bringing up his head injury, which we know Lexi would be livid about. It’s just complicated because his grandma is the only person who ever loved him. So maybe that's something he doesn’t like to discuss with her.

But honestly I think Fez is a SIMP, he is more prone to fond exasperation than actual irritation. He listens to Lexi talk in circles about the same subject, he is endlessly patient with her. I don’t even think he would get irritated over her being down on herself, I think he would be more concerned with building her up.

They would definitely fight over little things as well. Household chores being forgotten, and such. Lexi probably snaps at Fez if he’s in her way, they would get sharp with each other if they were both tired, you know, just the way you can sometimes be short with the people you love amidst the exhaustion of every day work drudgery. But nothing extremely serious and I know they’d be quick to apologise.

Growing up in the household that she did, where screaming matches were so rampant, Lexi would definitely have the occasional moment of fury that results in her yelling at Fez. But Fez would be all about deescalating that, I don’t think they ever have a screaming match. He’s like, “I’m going to go for a drive, I’ll be back in an hour, we can have a grown conversation when you’re ready to stop acting like a child.”

But this is my absolute head canon of Fez and Lexi when in a fight 😭

Lexi sends Fez to the couch and then halfway through the night comes into the living room and wordlessly drapes herself over him. Or they don’t even separate, they’re just in bed together with her ankle hooked on his knee, even while they’re pissy with each other.

HMMM perhaps I should write a fic about domestic fights... There’s a lot to unpack with their parents, too, and the kind of home they want to make!

Chapter XI

The weekend comes and she and Zoey head to the field seeing the teams warm up, and early comers already cheering. Bea looks up to see the big screen showing her and Zoey come in and Bea is in an outfit Zoey picked and everyone turns to them. Bea is thankful her body is healed enough to wear it.

“Oh my gosh, you’re so sparkly and adorable.”

“Damn, looking fine, Bea.”

“I am in love with your hair! You’re really pulling it off.”

“Thanks! But save all your adoration for the halftime show.” Bea smiles and they all start chatting about what’s to come when Zoey nudges her side.

“Well, hello professor dreamy.”

Bea looks to where Zoey points, and spots Kingsley at the top row of the bleachers looking exceptionally proper, arms crossed and back ramrod straight. Since becoming her TA Bea would say she has made wonderful progress in getting to know her… she thinks.

“Wow just watching her sit like that’s making my back hurt. How does she do it?” Bea tries to imitate her posture and she hears her back crack.

"Ow."

“Why don’t you go up there and find out.” Zoey shoves her enough to send her stumbling up the steps toward Kingsley. Bea gives her a betrayed look from her shoulder, it was one thing talking when working but talking off work hours was out of her depth. As Bea nears she sees Kingsley's eyes practically bulge out as she takes in Bea’s new outfit. Probably not as professional as she was used to from her.

“Beatrice… you look,” she stumbles before clearing her throat. “Very spirited, Did you manage to grade those quizzes I asked you for?”

“Grades? Bor-ing. Professor, we're at a football game! Get your head out of the classroom.” Bea sits beside her and Kingsley's leg starts jiggling. Her nervousness wafts over to Bea who also starts to fidget. “Didn’t know you were a football fan, is school spirit a part of the curriculum because if so, you’re missing the jersey.”

“Am I? How silly of me. My cover as a football fan is already blown.” Bea laughs.

“Oof, your enthusiasm is overwhelming. What are you even doing here then?”

I’ll admit I’d rather be at bindings, but as a Professor, I find it important to show school spirit." Bea tries to remember why the name sounds familiar.

“Oh that book store down in Soho?” Kingsley smiles in surprise.

"Oh you know it too?" Bea smiles at her but shakes her head no

"I passed by it when I was sightseeing during my first week here. I haven't been inside but it looks cozy from the window though." Kingsley smiles.

“It is… there's as many books as the eyes can see.” Bea indulges her.

“Riveting.”

“I’d think you’d be more interested in anthropology, what with how eager you were to work as my TA.” Bea inwardly grimaces, knowing that she was using the position as a cover to get the heat from the dean off her back.

“I take my role as a Belvoire student extremely seriously, and I believe I can elevate my academics even more as your TA.” Kingsley cocks an eyebrow and Bea just smiles confused by the look.

“Oh really, and did you or did you not greet me a few minutes ago with the words ‘Grades? Bor-ing’.” Bea freezes like a toddler caught in a cookie jar.

“I… uh… was experiencing a lapse of judgement? I love grades. Especially in the A variety.” Kingsley chuckles when a voice interrupts them.

“Oh, Ina, there you are!” Kingsley turns from Bea to look behind ner. Bea watches as Kkngsley tenses as a woman approaches.

“Lexi? How, er… nice to see you. Um… why are you here?” Bea leans back and just watches with interest until unease fills her as Lexi struts up the steps towards them. The feeling of fire ants crawling on her skin starts as Lexi gets closer and closer.

“Oh, you joker. I emailed you that I’d be coming months ago, right after you said you make a point in coming to the homecoming game. I am so sorry for being late, Ina. Oh and you’re with Beatrice Hughes.” Bea gives a polite smile, but her eyes are searching, trying to find the source of her unease.

“I prefer Bea, but how do you know me if you don’t mind me asking?” Her eyes take Bea in a hint of respect.

“I had brunch with Marguerite the other day. She said her new assistant, Penelope Dogwood, speaks very highly of you.”

“Aww that cutie. She’s a good friend of mine, she's a good mentor too. Couldn’t have gotten a TA position without her.” Lexi’s eyes then dart between them and it narrows shrewdly.

“And you know Ina, do you? How did you two make each other’s acquaintance?”

“Beatrice is my TA.” bea nods with a smile.

“I see. How interesting.” Bea just blinks. Lexi then moved to place a hand on Ina’s shoulder while leaning over. Sheesh. Bea stills as she feels her skin burn as the woman steps closer, Bea eyesbrows furrow and her eyes land on a necklace dangling from Lexi's neck with narrowed eyes.

“Oh, I’m sorry, Beatrice. I haven’t introduced myself!” Bea’s eyes snap up to Lexi who pauses. A hint a fear flashes in Lexi’s eyes but is gone when Bea blinks few times and smiles.

“Oh don’t worry I can figure this out. You must be Lexi Montgomery, love the hair. I’ve read your profile in one of Professor Kingsley’s anthropology magazines. Your makeover looks great.” Penelope had made very sure Bea knew everyone in the anthropology department when she booked thjs job, wether it be from articles or just what she knew.

“Thank you, darling. I just got it done in a little place on fifth.” Bea smiles tight. Her skin was really starting to itch the closer she got with that. Bea leg bounces and her eyes remain on the necklace around Lexi’s neck fidgeting in her seat.

“I’m sure Beatrice has some of her little friends to hang out with, don’t you Beatrice?” Bea’s eyes once more snap up to Lexi’s. She sees Kingsley eye her in concern in her peripherals.

“Beatrice are you alright?” Bea feels sweat on her brow, hands clenching. She feels a hand on her arm and she jerks away, almost stumbling out of her seat as she gets up.

“Actually professor you guys catch up, I’m feeling a bit sick.” Bea doesn’t even turn back as she all but vaults over a few chairs away from them, far away from them. Bea staggers somewhere away from the stadium, away from the loud cheering and the popping of popcorn at the concession stands walking to the empty quad. Bea sits herself on the ground by a shaded tree slapping her cheeks, and letting out a harsh breath as she feels a small cut to her cheeks. She looks at her hands, claws forming and hair growing on her arms.

“Come on Bea, keep it together.” Bea takes a few calming breaths and thinks about baking ingredients till all she was thinking about was what to bake later on. It works, her nails recede back to a normal size as does the hair on her arms. Bea lets out a sigh and slumps back onto the tree and just closes her eyes, a nap would do her good.

"Now this is a welcome sight to see, finally bowing down to the true queen Newbee?" Bea startles and looks up in alarm. Poppy stands there looking down at her with an unreadable look on her face. Bea stands and looks her over, not a hair on her head looked harmed. She didn't smell of blood, in fact she didn't smell like anything. Unknown to her, Poppy was looking her over as well, eyes lingering by her shoulder.

"Not a chance pinky." Poppy scoffs but her eyes are furrowed, and she looks confused. Bea follows her gaze and tenses. "What?" Poppy's eyes snap back to Bea.

"How was the hospital." Bea blinks, then narrows her eyes.

"How'd you know about that." Poppy flicks her wrist like its no big deal.

"I have my… sources."

"Did your sources take me to the hospital?" Poppy stonewalls at her question inspecting her nails. "Because I don't remember walking there." Poppy pauses and tilts her head up to looks at her.

"And what do you remember?" Bea pauses.

"I was… attacked last night." Bea could hear as Poppy grit her teeth, before she took a calming breath.

"By what." Bea fidgets under her intense gaze, and clamps onto the bite on her shoulder bringing Poppy's attention to it too.

"I… don't know." Poppy's brows furrow and she swallows thickly, staring at where Bea was holding her shoulder like she knows something before she tears her eyes away. Bea notices the action but stays quiet, not knowing if she should speak on the matter given the circumstances.

"Thanks." Poppy looks at her incredulously.

"What for?"

"For checking in on me." Poppy scoffs then smirks at her.

"Please, I couldn't care less if you were wiped from the face of the earth. At most, you're a new challenge for me to overcome, and I never lose when it comes to that." Bea chuckles at her confidence.

"Well see about that at the rally today." Poppy's eyes narrow.

A buzz from Bea's phone pauses both of them. Bea takes her phone out and looks at the caller to see Zoey.

“Zo, where are-”

“Get to the props, stat. Everything’s ruined!” Bea frowns at the distress in Zoey’s tone,

“I’ll meet you there in a sec.”

Bea looks to Poppy who just flicks her head for her to leave. Bea sprints off heading to where she feels Zoey’s sadness but she glances back to see Poppy still watching her before leaving.

Watching your little brother slowly transform into the person you lost was a roller-coaster of emotions.

The first time Dustin sat for breakfast in his Hellfire shirt brought tears to your eyes. ‘’I have to carry Eddie’s legacy,’’ he had said to you, talking about the club and his little sheeps.

You hadn’t seen it since the funeral. All members of Hellfire had come wearing it. It was a beautiful tribute for their friend.

Summer came and you started noticing three rings on his fingers — Eddie’s rings. Wayne had given them to Dustin when he came to the trailer, along with a few trinkets, in thanks for bringing him his nephew’s necklace. You kept to yourself some details about those rings — for his innocence — and hugged your brother when he gave one to you. Just like Eddie, he had a heart of gold.

Months went by and Dustin’s hair got longer, growing into a sort of rocker shag. Your mother tried to get him to cut them, but he protested.

At night, he would spend hours in his bedroom, writing and planning campaigns. It was strange to see it happening, but it warmed your heart to know that although Eddie was no longer there, he still looked up to him.

We are hot and heavy into our 3rd week at the Amortentia Island Villa, and this week has brought with it its own set of challenges: namely, the challenge of any of these couples pretending they’re still into the significant other they came to the Villa with three short weeks ago. Of the loyal contestants we have… Terry and Milan? Can we count Terry and Milan if he was already cheating on Dottie with Milan before any of them arrived? And… Doc and Mary. We’d love to say that our favorite retired Quidditch player, Ivan, and his Healer girlfriend Heidi are still going strong, but after last night’s beach blowout we aren’t sure we can. Here’s a recap from the confessional:

HEIDI - “I don’t even think he likes me anymore. Everyone else has gotten laid in this villa, half of them not by the people they came in with, and I can’t even get a bit of goodnight necking with my long term boyfriend?! Bullshit! I might have believed he was camera shy for the first week, but it’s week three! You can hardly remember the cameras are there. Just pull the covers over your head and go to town. I’m, like, beyond annoyed about it. If I have to listen to Jess and Brando bang one more time and I can’t get some tongue, on Merlin I’m blowing up. Like, actually blowing up. Not just a bit of yelling on the beach after too much champagne. Last night was tame. You’d be screaming, too. Makes me feel like shit, it does! Am I not good enough? Does he like someone else? I shouldn’t have to beg.”

IVAN - “She didn’t need to go nuclear at the beach party in front of everyone. It’s our personal, private business what we do or don’t do in bed. Now everyone in the villa probably thinks I’m impotent or something. I’m not! It works fine! Soz I’m not in the mood after I’ve heard Brando panting for the thirtieth thirty seconds of the day. She’s just being dramatic… there is no one else I’m more interested in...”

That’s right, Ivan. It’s your personal, private business! You tell her! Well… and the business of the thousand or so viewers turning in every night…

And now to see what our remaining couples have been up to this week.

Milan and Terry - After Milan’s surprise entrance to the villa last week, outing herself as Terry’s Other Woman, the couple have been laying it on thick. Smart of Milan to never leave his side, considering every time she does he has sidled up to another girl. But we’re sure it’s just banter, Milan. He’d never cheat on the girl he was cheating with… Well, except for that first week with Mary, but… yikes.

Heidi and Ivan - There’s trouble in paradise for these two. It seems our beloved jock Ivan is having some performance anxiety, which in turn is giving Hot Lips Heidi anxiety of her own about her Hot Lips. (Maybe not-so-Hot-Lips is she can’t even get a smooch). Will they iron out their ~kinks~ or is this the end of the line? Ivan the “Ice Man” had better do something about his cold feet, before she turns her hot lips on someone else.

Mary and Doc - We’re still debating whether or not Mary and Doc should have won this weeks Telephone challenge. On the one hand, the bedframe was in worse shape going back into the box than it was coming out. On the other, their expressive conversation painted a real picture of what could have happened in the bed had she got around to building it. Maybe it’s the thought that counts… We hope their parents aren’t watching!

Dottie and Colm - For the third week in a row, Colm remains our most lackluster contestant. We’re not sure which we’re more sorry to Dottie for: sending in Milan and breaking her and Terry up for good, or the fact that it stuck her in a bed with Colm for seven nights of him pining after Grace.

Jess and Brando - To everyone’s surprise, Jess and Brando have gotten on (and gotten it in) more than any other couple in the villa. After Brando sent his girlfriend “Sexi Lexi” home on the first day to exchange for surprise single Jess, our expectations for their longevity were… low, to say the most. Yet Jess and Brando have been inseparable since. Like calls to like, we guess! And the two loudest, most obnoxious people in the villa might… actually have a chance at this thing?! Who would have thought!

Grace and Benjamin “The Butler” - After winning the Telephone challenge earlier in the week, Grace and B. Butts had a romantic island picnic date. Everyone was rooting for them (with the exception of Colm, Grace’s promise ring wearing simp), so it was a horrible disappointment to the whole Villa when they came back to announce it would not be working between them for another week. It might have had something to do with the fact all Benjamin did for the three hours of the date was complain about his wife—you’ll remember her as The Duchess, may she RIP. Grace had a better time with the champagne bottle, her only real companion on the date.

Tonight, it’s boys’ choice. And for the first re-coupling on record, we won’t be sending a new girl in. That should calm some of your anxieties, ladies! Or it should make you nervous—because if we’re letting you off easy now, well, what do we have up our sleeves for the next week?

Girls, we just have to say: maybe Terry is the one you should be glaring at right now?

More shocking still is Ivan curving Heidi for… Dottie? I mean, we know she’s a real catch but you’re not going to calm Heidi’s worries about you not wanting to sleep with her after this one, Iceman! Stone cold…
