April is here! And so is spring, officially!
Housekeeping
Current Month in TOA: Red Wolf Moon
Our mission board this season is for the Golden Deer! Take a look at the new tasks here. Don't forget that mission tasks require at least one partner affiliated with the Golden Deer House to take up.
Please remember to delete your thread titles posts after you've saved them to your drafts. Thank you!
RP is a cooperative activity, at its finest when all participating parties are working together. To this end, we'd like to put out a reminder that it is common courtesy to check your prospective partner's pinned post or muse dossier before RPing with them. This helps toward being on the same page when threading together.
As a reminder for April Fool's: - Please tag any posts made for April Fool's with #TOAaprilfools so that they can be differentiated from regular posts and/or blacklisted. April Fool's posts will not count for class mastery or IC requirements for the month - Please do not change your blog's URL. Descriptions and display pictures are OK to change - Please do not RP as another muse. April Fool's jokes are limited to versions of your own muse or objects/animals related to your muse (things that you would ordinarily have free reign to write headcanons about) - Please do not make jokes centered on content that could potentially be offensive. This includes using words from another language or concepts from another culture as a punchline
We also have a new feedback poll for the month of April! Most of these questions are specific to this year’s Battle of the Eagle and Lion. Did you enjoy the 3v3 format? How can it be improved? Let us know!
A Reminder re. Activity
We've been receiving a lot of requests or reserves for second or third muses lately, many of which we've had to turn down. Per TOA rules: " When taking on an additional muse, the mun should also have demonstrated strong levels of activity well past the minimum on existing muses, as well as high engagement with the rest of the group. As a general rule of thumb, over a three month span we expect 6 thread replies a month on one muse if applying for a second muse, and 9 thread replies a month across two muses if applying for a third muse. " The above should be carefully considered so as to avoid disappointment when applying for another muse. If you've a history of poor activity upon being granted an additional muse, requirements may be even more stringent. The key is consistent, continued activity.
Other

Twi’s Headcanons II: The Region of Ru’aun
After making that last post about the multiverse, it only seemed right that I also do one exploring my own map of Ru’aun, its history, and its politics. It’s also definitely needed in order to understand the other non-canon places in my rewrite, so without further ado:
(Oh shit it’s 3.5k words this time lmao. Also Tumblr ate the quality again so click on the photos)
Tumblr media
(NOTE: The in-universe calendar used in various places here counts upwards from the birth of Irene. In my version season 1 takes place 482 years after the divine, and season 3 is 500 years later, not 900. AI stands for “After Irene” and BI means “Before Irene”. Comparable to BC & AD)
Khasia & Scalesia:
[Pronounced kah-sia and skay-lee-sia (sia as in ‘Asia’)]
Tumblr media
The region of Ru’aun is divided into two different subregions: Khasia in the west/northwest and Scalesia in the east/southeast. During the Great Migration Period (the time in history where humans spread across the globe) they did so in massive tribes consisting of many closely related dialects and cultures. These tribes also gave the regions their modern names, with Ru’aun deriving from the Ru’na people who settled there from Tu’la.
There, the Ru’na divided into two different cultures and ethnic identities; the Kha’shi and the Scal’isi. For many centuries, this division was just as much political as it was cultural. For over one hundred years, beginning in around 126 BI, the Khasian subregion was unified into a singular kingdom, whose capital was the growing town of O'Khasis. Meanwhile, as Scalesia was much larger then Khasia, it was home to many different kingdoms and factions throughout history, but they all had one thing in common: Khasians and Scalesians did not like each other.
It was in the central Scalesian neighboring villages of Windyr and Kalnyr, that Éiryn Shala’shaska and Shádd Um’branis (modernized to Irene and Shad) were born. While the many adventures and stories of the Divine each have varying levels of credibility, one of them is certain; it was them, along with their four compatriots, that brought an end to the Kingdom of Khasia and established a much better form of regional governance, known as the Lordship System.
Over the course of history, the animosity dividing the region slowly faded away with continued cooperation for the good of the entire region. However, the two bastions of each side; the grand cities of O’Khasis and Scálswynd (later Scaleswind; the successor to Windyr) remained sworn enemies along with their ruling houses of Ro’meave and Ronsenburg. This never changed until the 6th century AI, when Aphmau Shala’shaska and her companions convinced both lords to join the region-spanning Phoenix Alliance, which would eventually become the modern nation of the Phoenix Republic, uniting Khasia and Scalesia under a single banner.
In the modern day, this divide does still exist, but only in the accent and inherited traits of its residents, who share their cultures rather than fight to keep the other away from them.
[essentially, Khasia is the equivalent of Britain accent-wise, which is why Garroth has one, and on average Khasian people are more lighter-skinned/caucasian, and Scalesians are more darker-skinned/Hispanic-adjacent, but over the centuries it becomes a more and more mixed populace between them both.]
Individual Locations:
Canonical:
Scaleswind: Considered a holy city as it is the direct successor to Irene the Matron’s home village of Windyr, and also the seat of power in all of Scalesia.
O’Khasis: The largest and oldest city in all of northern Ru’aun, and the seat of power in Khasia. Before and during the Divine Era it was the capital of the Kingdom of Khasia, and was the home city of Esmound the Protector. O’Khasis is also the economic capital of the modern-day Phoenix Republic.
Brightport: the largest port city in Northeastern Ru’aun, and the third overall after O’Khasis and Vasilyr. It is also home to the Brightport Guard Academy; the alma mater of most guards/knights in the Northeast.
Meteli/New Meteli: a small village situated on the base of the (as known in the modern-day) Shalashaska Peninsula. Larger than Phoenix Drop but smaller than Brightport, it was overrun and destroyed by O’Khasian forces during the First Alliance War, but most of its inhabitants survived and relocated north where they built New Meteli.
Pikoro Village: As one of the northernmost towns in Ru’aun, in the border area some call Gal’raun, it held a tenuous relationship with the nearby Northern Werewolf Tribe. Pikoro also held to the Old Khasian beliefs regarding Witchcraft, and the practice was outlawed in the town even though it was rather normalized in both its south and to its north, until the witch Lucinda Hawkins came to power. In the modern day, it is home to the headquarters of the Global Council of Witchcraft.
Phoenix Drop: At first a small village on the tip of the Shalashaska Peninsula, it would rise into a large city; one on par with Scaleswind, during the Lordship of Aphmau Shala’shaska (whom the peninsula was later named after). This would be in part due to the fact that it was believed she was the second coming or reincarnation of Irene the Matron. The city would also become the future capital of the Phoenix Republic far later in history, and in the modern day, it along with Scaleswind and O’Khasis are considered the three titans of middle-age Ru’aunian civilization, and the three surviving treasure troves of Phoenixian history.
Enki Islands: An island chain off the coast of Gal’rok originally named Vanirfjörd, specifically an area known in the modern day as Forskerland. That area, along with the islands themselves, are named after their most famous native: Enki the Keeper. In legend, they are also inhabited by the immortal dark-magic being known as the Demon Warlock; Enki’s greatest foe.
Phoenix Island: A large temperate island in the North Ru’aun Sea, and said to be the site of a grand city built by the Divine Warriors to be their home. Historians are conflicted over the actual existence of this island, as nothing like it is visible via satellite imagery or any other kind of searching, however it is well-documented that a similar island, home to the ruins of an old city, was also the original capital of the Phoenix Alliance. In truth, the island is kept hidden under a powerful magical illusory shield created by Enki and Esmound together, that cloaks the island and protects it from anyone who does not wield a Divine Relic. They did this because the island, along with being home to two different dimensional anchor locations, was the site where Shad was banished; and the entire island still has that magical residue practically oozing off of it to this day. They couldn’t let anyone find a way to harness it, so the island could only be reachable when it was sought out or inhabited by at least one of their worthy successors, and it thus could still harbor society while also remaining protected. After everyone else died and Aphmau left, the residents of the island were driven away by a magically-induced flood meant to make them all leave, and those people made Phoenix Drop the capital after they believed the island had sunken beneath the sea. Scientists believed this is what happened as well, but they’ve never been able to find evidence under the ocean to support it either
The Werewolf Tribes: Whereas Humans are native to Tu’la, Werewolves are the original inhabitants of Ru’aun. Those that existed during the Rising Phoenix Era (the time of MCD) were akin to giant wolves who walked on two feet and were fully intelligent. Over the centuries, they greatly evolved -mainly via cross-breeding with humans- into the Modern Werewolf; a person with a mostly human body, but also the ears, tail, teeth, senses, and instincts of a wolf, and usually along with an allergy to chocolate. The Cardinal Tribes, as they’re collectively called, were the four major Werewolf civilizations during the Rising Phoenix Era, and each held complex -though often hostile- relationships with one another. A defining factor of Werewolf culture during this time was the universal worship of the Goddess/Personification of the Moon; Lunaris; similar to the early Meif’wa worship of the God Sollus, AKA the Sun Father. Both of these gave the Sun and Moon their modern names, but are also now mostly dead religions, with incredibly few honest practitioners left. However Moon/Sun imagery is still common in Werewolf/Meif’wa households, as cultural decorations.
the Original Places:
Westagar: a large town in the southern part of Khasia. It was decimated by one of the many wars that Lord Garte and High Priest Zane of O’Khasis started in an attempt to rebuild the Khasian Kingdom, however over many years it was able to revitalize itself into a functional city once again, with the help of the Phoenix Alliance and the new O’Khasian leadership.
Vasilyr: A large port city in southern Scalesia, even beating O’Khasis’s own port for the title of largest in Ru’aun. Vasilyr has a long history of political neutrality, and has thus become a major player in terms of economics, as well as holding the third-party position in many diplomatic affairs. In the modern day, it is the capital of the small country of Vasilon.
Rivandar: a small town in Gal’raun, and a common rest stop for travelers.
Taravan: the grand former capital of the Torvan Empire, during the Rising Phoenix Era an independent city rich in both money and history. In the modern era, it is the capital of the nation of Torrva; the modern descendant-state of the Empire.
Port Raiya: a fishing village on the island of Raiya in the gold sea, first established by the Torvans and the birthplace of Kulzak the Wanderer.
Casadora: The Capital of the country that has mostly been known throughout history by the name of Corsa, though it was also known as the Tu’lian Empire during the Rising Phoenix Era. Also the crown-jewel of northern Tu’la, it has long been the seat power in the area north of the Shambaraaka Mountains, and was built up by the Torvans during their reign over the area.
Montillego (mon-tee-ay-go): The close second to Casadora, Montillego is a treasure trove of historical sights, such as the famed Montillego Colosseum, constructed by the Torvans as well. The city is also thought to be significant to Menphia the Fury, along with the Colosseum itself, making it similar to Scaleswind in that it is a holy city, and it is where many of the defining moments in the Fury’s life took place.
Portal to Yggdrasil: The Yggdrasil Forest, as it is most commonly known, is a thought-to-be Gal’rokian mythological plane of existence, home to the naturally magical and immortal race of Elves, however this legend is true. Hidden away in one of the many narrow passages of the Arctic Mountains in Gal’rok that surround the North Pole, there is a heavily magically-protected portal, accessible only via boat. If an elf or a person of elf ancestry reaches the barrier, it will open and allow the travelers through the Dimensional Veil and into the realm of Yggdrasil, but only if the person reaching out to it is of Yggdrasilian blood.
History (& The Phoenix Republic):
The Human Species first evolved into existence in the central Tu’la region, while wolves in Ru’aun evolved into an intelligent humanoid race known as Werewolves, and the same happened with a now-extinct species of feline in Jin’tal, becoming the Meif’wa race. As said in the section of Khasia and Scalesia, humans migrated north into Ru’aun roughly around 30,000 BI. Many of them continued into the rest of the world, such as the Gar’lokk, who made their home in the frigid arctic region they would give the name Gal’rok, while even more would use it as a land bridge to the regions now known as Dan’vei and Jin’tal. In Ru’aun however, the Ru’na would split into the Kha’shi and Scal’isi, each forming their own societies in the region.
This is also when humans began coexisting with the First Werewolves in Ru’aun and the First Meif’wa in Jin’tal, thus beginning the evolutionary history that shaped the modern day variant of those two species.
A focal point of early Ru’aunian and Tu’lian history was the Torvan Empire; while not the largest empire in all of history, it is still considered one of the greatest, and it shaped much of Northern Tu’la and Southern Ru’aun into what they are. Spanning that area, along with the entirety of the Gold Sea, the Torvan Empire ruled from 607 BI to 10 AI, and it’s mark left on the Ru’la border region is still seen in the modern day, with its grand cities of Montillego, Provencia, and its capital of Taravan still standing tall, and the Addonius Peninsula -which makes up the modern nation of Torrva- still bears the name of one of its greatest Emperors.
Ru’aun went through quite a lot of changes from 20 AI to 100 AI, for this period was the lives of the Divine Warriors. While it is undeniable that this group of six individuals did exist to some degree, it is greatly debated whether they were truly gods. Yet still, the Church of the Divine remains the dominant religion in nearly the entire Eastern Hemisphere (excluding Southern Tu’la) to this day, and some of their most notable endeavors include the dissolving of the Kingdom of Khasia, supposedly in the aftermath of the legendary Wyvern War, and brought forth the Lordship System to Ru’aun, where every city and village would government itself and be protected by a Guard Force relative to the town’s size. Esmound the Protector’s own sister, Princess Elandra Ro’meave, was made the first Lord of O’Khasis, and Irene also warned against the building of kingdoms via war and conquest, for a nation built upon bloodshed was comparable to a castle built upon sand; neither would ever last the test of time.
For over four hundred and fifty years after the Divine Era, the world of Ru’aun was, for the most part and excluding the general advancement of society, rather un-notable in terms of history-making events. However, beginning in the late 460s AI, this would take a drastic turn.
The reign of Lord Garte II of O’Khasis brought on a time of war in Khasia and of uncertainty in Ru’aun. Strangely, the High Priest of Irene took quite an active role in the conquest and attempted rebuilding of the very kingdom Irene and Esmound demolished, however it is more conceivable when you consider the Priest at the time was the Lord’s own son, Zane Ro’meave.
But in 482 AI, the small and inconsequential village of Phoenix Drop would gain a new Lord, one Aphmau Shala’shaska.
Shala’shaska is slightly strange, in that there was no record of her existence prior to this year, but it is likely any documentation was simply lost to history. Nevertheless, her reign single-handedly rose Phoenix Drop up from its deathbed and into the regional spotlight, growing its populace and Guard greatly. Records are mixed of how this came to pass, but even two of the four* Ro'meave children came to serve under Shala’shaska as her knights, and later a third, who previously had been mistaken for dead.
Another strange thing about this lord and her village, was that in 483 AI during the First Alliance War, she, with a large posse, as well as High Priest Ro’meave, who was accompanied by Lillian the Dark Mask of the Jury of Nine, seemingly vanished into thin air.
They returned to history a full fifteen years later in 498 AI, and by that time, Levin Shala’shaska, Aphmau’s eldest son, was Phoenix Drop’s lord. Shala’shaska and her compatriots then set out into the North Ru’aun Sea and supposedly discovered a beautiful forested island, where they began building the capital of the Phoenix Alliance. I say supposedly, because from all rights and accounts, the island shouldn’t exist. But it very clearly does, and could not have been confused with one of the many in Scandovia.
This is also the same year that King Ramón III of the Tu’lian Empire launched an invasion on the city of O’Khasis in long-awaited retribution for the believed assassination of his wife, Queen-Consort Isabela. After the successful invasion, the king grew power-hungry and continued into the region, prompting war with the Phoenix Alliance. Over the next three years, the Alliance grew exponentially, and by its victorious end of the War For Ru’aun, it encompassed nearly the entire region.
Various religious figures have believed that the multitude of strange-to-downright-impossible claims of things that happened during this period of time are proof that Chancellor Shala’shaska and her comrades were the mythicized Second Coming of the Divine; part of a prophecy where Shad the Destroyer would rise again and the Divine Warriors would be reincarnated to stop him.
While the timeline in the story does match, the theory is heavily criticized on all accounts, notably by the international community from the perspective of Phoenixians believing the forerunner of their country was founded by gods. But that is just one of many ways the belief is debated, even amongst the Church of the Divine itself.
For many generations, Ru’aun flourished and progressed under the peace and cooperation brought on by the Phoenix Alliance. This unity was the cause of never-before-thought-possible levels of interconnection in politics, trade, and culture. The Alliance also brought on a sense of unified camaraderie across Ru’aun over the centuries, and over that time, it evolved from a simple trade/defense alliance into a loose confederation, and in 1498 AI; one thousand years since its founding, the Phoenix Alliance was united into a singular nation; the Phoenix Republic.
The Republic, sometimes also referred to as Phoenixia (fin-icks-ee-uh) spanned an impressive amount of land; nearly all of Ru’aun. It is also considered one of the oldest still-standing countries in the modern world, and the longest-standing Democratic one, as it has operated since creation with an elected Assembly and elected Chancellor as government and head-of-state. It is also very diverse, containing all of Khasia, nearly all of Scalesia, and the native Werewolf lands.
A large part of that land is also made up of the Dark Forest (formerly “Cursed Forest”). When it was first officially claimed as Alliance protected-land during the War For Ru’aun, Chancellor Shala’shaska merely stated that: “The area known as the Cursed Forest shall forever be under the full protection of the Phoenix Alliance. It is not to be invaded, chopped down, or otherwise disturbed, and will only be entered under the most dire of circumstances. Immediate authority over the forest’s land and matters concerning it shall henceforth fall to Lady Lucinda Hawkins.”
Hawkins, the founder of the Global Council of Witchcraft, held that position until her death, but failed to specify a replacement before then. Under the Republic government, the forest is considered a National Park under the protection of the relevant Ministry, but many things are unknown about the forest, due to its history of people entering but never coming out, and Council of Witchcraft’s own investigation confirmed that the forest has incredibly old and incredibly powerful enchantments and curses on it, prompting the Ministry to declare it dangerous to enter without the proper precautions. This has spurred many theories, both in genuine and joking manners amongst Phoenixian citizens of what could have put those spells on the forest, and whether it was inhabited by cryptids or supernatural entities.
Over the years, the Phoenix Republic held a large place on the growing World Stage. The city of Nahakra was one of the centerpieces of the Industrial Revolution, and since the early 20th century, the Republic has firmly established itself as the most powerful nation in the world, closely followed by the Kingdom of Brusava.
In the modern day, specifically the 2020s AI, the Phoenix Republic continues to be a global superpower, with a territory spanning most of the Ru’aunian region, and several metropolitan centers such as its capital of Phoenix Drop, along with Scaleswind, O’Khasis, Brightport, South Towers, and Pikoro City. It is well known for its diverse populace of all types of humans, Werewolves, and Meif’wa, with an overall population of over two-hundred-million people. Its dominant religion is the Unified Church of the Divine, and it continues the mission set forth by Chancellor Shala’shaska of remaining a beacon of light for those oppressed or threatened, and is one of the largest asylum-granters of refugees and immigrants around the world.
But when a large group of friends all end up living as neighbors on the same street in the suburbs of Phoenix Drop, no one could have possibly imagined what would become of their lives, who they were descended from, or what had been truly threatening all life on Earth ever since the Second Coming of the Divine, all those years ago.
[this is basically where the beginning of my still-very-rough idea of how a Mystreet rewrite would go, with the Demon Warlock and The Void being the primary antagonist/threat.]

begging for your fluffy headcanons for today
well, y’know what they say, beg and you shall receive
addy buys flowers for everyone. it’s just a thing. before a group hang out, she buys a bunch and painstakingly picks the nicest ones to hand out
the first time she did it; she bought carnations because they were the cheapest and still looked pretty
this is how the group finds out cooper is allergic to carnations
(and bees, he will add reproachfully to anyone who asks. spring is his worst nightmare)
now addy buys roses
luis changes the menu of the cafe over time. just quietly suggesting to his dad an addition here and there until the whole menu is basically his
which means: it’s full of maeve’s favourite food. and the special he made cooper one time that’s now on there forever. addy’s favourite soft drink always gets ordered in, he gets a specific brand of chips that bronwyn likes
(let it be known that mr santos is very aware of why these menu changes are happening, he just likes the kids so much he lets it happen)
(let it also be known that luis thinks he’s being very slick)
cooper gives his family pass tickets for his game to kris, luis and addy. he spares only two for lucas and nonny. when the three protest, he just shrugs and says very quietly “but you are my family”
they hardly ever miss a game
kris carries around a first aid kit in his car. he has to use it fairly often because the group love to do dangerous stupid things
addy falls off a skateboard, turns around and immediately whines “kris!!”
he loves it. he’s such a dad.
bronwyn buys books for the others that she thinks they’ll like. she gets too embarrassed to give it to them and will just leave them at their doors or in their bags
they always know where they’re coming from though
sometimes she writes notes in the margin, or circles or underlines the parts that she thinks are relevant. she gets cooper his first book about lgbt history & addy a book about overcoming traumatic and abusive relationships. she writes long paragraphs about how loved they both are and circles the bits in the book where it talks about strength and perseverance with notes like “this is you” and “i’m always here”
they both cry. and take bronwyn out for dinner.
bronwyn never actually admits that it’s her. she likes the idea of the kind anonymity.
maeve and nate have a competition going to see who has to deal with more of bronwyn’s freak outs. whoever has the least at the end of the year has to buy the other dinner.
nate was winning for a while, until they got into a fight. then the ensuing breakdowns bronwyn had over that put maeve in front by a long mile
they’re all so protective of each other & will get into fights. which range from actually effective (cooper, luis, nate) to verbally brutal (maeve, kris) to “oh my god someone help them before they get knocked out” (bronwyn, addy)
every time kris goes out to the store. he buys something for cooper. and i mean every time. like he goes to the grocery store? he’s bringing back red vines. he goes to buy clothes? congrats on your new shirt coop. he goes to the gas station? he left a chocolate bar for cooper in the fridge. he can’t help himself.
one time, cooper asks him why, and kris shrugs, all embarrassed, and admits “i’m just thinking about you all the time so i see things and just think: cooper would like that”
cooper repays him by letting kris fall asleep on him whenever and wherever he wants. kris is a very overworked individual, and so sometimes he just needs to sleep. cooper is a walking pillow.
(which also has the unintended side effect that kris struggles to sleep without him)
(he never tells cooper because he doesn’t want him to feel bad or to stop letting him sleep on him)
addy often insists on piggyback rides
kris cooper and nate usually indulge her
one time maeve tried and they both ended up on the floor

Lana and Darth Nul. Um.
Tumblr media
I saw some argument on Reddit today about Lana being Darth Nul, and FFS, when I had it in that post it was a joke. I was fucking around.
Given the poor writing the game has had for the last four or five years, I threw it out there because I fully anticipate they could do this no matter how outlandish it is. They've certainly had nothing but inconsistencies up until now. I also unfortunately would not put it past them to take the one wlw character with an actual substantial romance arc and send her down in flames.
Logically, though: I don't think there's anything there, unless she's a past apprentice of Darth Nul or otherwise had some association. In my own headcanon Lana's got a pretty garden variety past. But if we're going to speculate about Lana's past, my strongest guess would be that she was one of Darth Malgus's apprentices. She may have even been involved in the New Empire's development on some level, even if she didn't know what it was. It would make sense. Lana is clearly open to change and working with a lot of different groups, she's pragmatic and she's smart.
We also know that the Sith that were associated with Malgus did not all die or go to jail, but were placed in positions of some power afterward - because we worked with one, Lord Cytharat, on Makeb. If you were a Sith looking to shake up the entire Empire from the inside and effect massive change with cross-faction cooperation, would a former Malgus associate be attractive for that goal? Oh yes. We're told Darth Arkous brings her on board as an advisor because he thinks she will make a good Revanite.
In the most recent story beat (which I will not call an expac because that is a complete joke), Lana's clearly tense when she is confronting Darth Malgus. I feel it's entirely plausible that she and Darth Krovos are on the same page as to how Malgus should be handled, and it's not keeping him in a Silence of the Lambs cage. In the end, wasn't the Alliance more or less what Darth Malgus wanted to achieve? A third faction, with a very diverse population, a base outside the Empire or Republic and some power.
So yeah. If they are going to do anything, that would sound the most reasonable to me. Making her suddenly turn out to be Darth Nul or a Child of the Emperor in hiding would be bizarre. And:
We know nothing about Lana's family.
Well…isn't that the case for most of the characters? We don't know anything about Aric Jorgan's family, or Koth Vortena's, or Darth Marr's. We don't see parents or spouses or kids for the vast majority of characters in the game. When we do, like Vette's sister and mother or Elara Dorne's brother, it's a big deal in the narrative because it's unusual.
What we have for Lana's parents is actually more than we have for most of those other characters: we have their first names, their surname, what they did for a living and the fact that they're deceased. She knew Darth Nul is female. Yes, she did. We know Lana's got a very strong background in Sith history, and of course she's digging around on her own with this. She's the Alliance advisor. Ten to one she's doing research she's not necessarily sharing with Darth Rivix or the Empire, for one reason or another. She hides her power. Dude, she's Sith. In an Old Republic Sith world. Do you think anyone who knows how this game is played EVER shares their full hand? Hell, our own Sith characters in the game can pretend to be clueless with Darth Baras and Darth Zash and also can hide all manner of associations and power acquisitions. They're no fools. We also know that the Sith who stand there bragging about their power are usually the ones our characters can annihilate. All talk, no action, and such. When Darth Rivix tries to needle Lana by accusing her of hiding her full abilities, I feel like the uncensored answer would have been 'no shit, Sherlock. Are you new here?'
We don't know what her Sith experience is.
We know she trained with Harkun, which would imply she was at the Sith Academy within the last, let's say, thirty years. Training with Harkun also suggests she didn't have any cushy connections at the Academy, because the acolytes who had patrons or supporters with any pull were not going to be sent to that butcher. We know it wasn't, say, fifty years ago, because one of the acolytes who was there at the same time who had gone mad in the tombs was Zabrak, and long ago aliens were not allowed in the Academy at all.
We also know she was assigned to Hoth before she was with Arkous, and that she did a thesis on Jedi and Sith on the battlefield. We're told she hates titles, which could suggest she's been offered something higher than Lord and refused it.
But she's cagey about her background.
Yes, she is. If the PC asks her about it, the first time they meet in the cantina, she's clearly uncomfortable talking about herself. But she was also in an environment where trust was thin on the ground, and she was there to talk to the PC about distrusting Arkous - would she really have told the PC her life story? Also, if she did come from background with Darth Malgus, she may not have wanted to say so. In the Makeb storyline, Cytharat doesn't say it either unless you prompt him.
The fact that someone doesn't share their background doesn't mean they have something to hide, necessarily. Especially when they live in a galaxy where it can be used against you.

Spare hels thoughts?
ohohohohoho oh boy lets go anon. So disclaimer these are all based off of uhhh Blood Moon, an au with a bunch of. specific headcanons really. Anyways. Headcanons.
It's important to note that my Helses aren't just personality or trait inversions, for the most part. They are more worst case scenarios for people similar to the hermits, or them lacking care for other people.
warnings for vauge, non detailed body horror or gore based things. Mostly for my Hels Iskall and Tango.
Let's start with the classics.
Helsuma: Evil Xisuma is not Xisuma's Hels. Xisuma's Hels is Helsuma, the ex-admin of Helscraft. Unlike X, he threw his weight around with the admin stuff, relishing his abilities and ruling the server with an iron fist. Everyone fucking hated him, and eventually, in an act of serverwide cooperation that is very rare for Helscraft, they forced him into a glitched chunk boundary in The End, allowing him to fall forever, unable to escape, since not only can Helsuma not die, if he did he would just respawn somewhere else. EX is a clone of Xisuma designed to replace Helsuma as admin, since all the Helsmets knew it would be a bad idea for one of them to be in charge, and that they would eventually end up with another Helsuma. EX is designed to be like X, which is why he's... kind of a pushover, and not really evil. EX is a shapeshifter like his hermit namesake, whereas Helsuma is... well he was human once.
Helsknight: Helsknight didn't exist until the moment Wels made his clone, as in the grand scheme of things The Universe (its own sorta... sentient guiding force) knew the clone would happen and be the perfect opportunity to have Hels be created. Hels, after loosing Wels' rap battle, fled into Hels and was promptly contacted by Helsuma, who tricked him into helping him escape. Luckily, the Helsmets caught wind of this, attacked Hels to keep him from getting Helsuma out, and gave him a quick history lesson before banishing him from Hels forever. This Hels is a Many-eyed Siren, a quirk of the cloning and a side effect of a non human soul being put into a human vessel.
FlimFlam: ok, into original Hels territory. Flim is Hels Mumbo, and like Mumbo he is a brilliant redstoner. Unlike mumbo, he deliberatley builds his machines as shittily and cheaply as possible, sells them for high prices, and when you come to what you thought was his house to get a refund when it breaks, he will be nowhere to be seen and his house gutted. He is essentially a scruffy scam artist. He built a different Hels, Kokhet, to act as a bodyguard after he pissed off the wrong people, people who wouldn't stop at knocking at his door and would follow him as far as they needed to to get him.
Kokhet02: Kokhet is the hels Iskall. Created by FlimFlam as a bodyguard, Kokhet is a testament to how Flim is, really, a very skilled redstoner. He is very loyal to FlimFlam, and they both know its because he wants to be, and he could change his mind on that any time. With sentience came his own desires, and Kokhet has a constant craving to be organic, to wear flesh over his fairly bare metal frame. Being built to hurt, and kill, if needed, this is very concerning, and like. 90% of the reason Helscraft is so afraid of him. He is like a termanator, but if the terminator wanted to wear your skin and had knives for fingers and a dry hatred for most people. Above all, he wants Iskall's flesh and, well... There's a reason Iskall's missing an arm and an eye.
FoxTrotFilms: Foxtrot is not a Hels. Call him a hels and he will get very, very angry at you. Tango is the hels, but he left a long time ago, originally simply hellbent of breaking and destroying things, he found that he also liked to create, and create things to destroy, and that he was lonley. He went and found his way to the Hermitcraft server before Fox ever did, and due to his frequent death games and strong friendships, he managed to fill both of their roles, taking Fox's place. Most Helsmets want to live their Hermit counterpart's life, and for all his good he is the most successful of them all. Fox was sidelined, no longer needed, and so he was secreted into a little pocket of unreality, unable to live but unable to die as well. His body rotted with him inside it, until one day he escaped, hellbent on revenge against the man he knew took his life and existence, but who's face he does not know. He's fairly sure it should look like his, though.
This is where things start getting less fleshed out lol
ExeD: Short for Executioner, XD is Doc's hels. He is essentially Doc, but without the self control and care for his friends he holds. He is destructive with no respect for anyone else, and terrifyingly efficient with it. No one gets on XD's bad side. They know they will regret it if they do.
J_Valley and VexMerne: Valley and Merne are the Hels Joe and Cleo. They run VexCorp, the ConCorp equivalent of Hels and dominant force in Hels. They sell anything you need, for the price they name. Valley and Merne are as much scam artists as Flim, but they are far better at making people not realise it. They even scammed the Vex they made a deal with for power, and managed to get it with far fewer strings attached than they should've. Valley and Merne are equally the brains of the operation, but you're much more likley to see Merne coming around your house to break your legs if you try and wrong the two of them. If she doesn't come then.. they have something much worse in store for you. There is a reason Flim had to build Kokhet to stay safe. Why are they like this? Because I can imagine nothing scarier than Joe and Cleo as venture capitalists.
Zedaph: Zedaph has no Hels. Zedaph has no Hermit, either, but he's not going to tell you that.
NerveVS: I have no lore for him I just have a name. NerveVS. Like Nervous. geddit? please does this make any sense
YXBreaker: Another that is just a name that I thought was cool. Hels XB.
Jello: hels jellie. exactly the same (vaugley powerful cat) except this joke only works if you're british doesn't it. does it? Anyways she hangs out with badtimes or whoever ends up being my hels scar.

send 👫 and i will write four headcanons about our muses - accepting / @blessed-by-blood
1. cael doesn’t understand empathy (read: he has the emotional range of a withering houseplant), so he absolutely does not understand why isabelle is always willing to put herself at risk for the sake of other people. her kindness seems to extend to him initially as well, however, this changes as soon as she realises they are from two different worlds, and cael’s sole existence conflicts with everything she believes in, with every social norm or convention out there. he is selfish, he has no conception of sympathy, and he is apathetic to a fault. he has the power to change the course of history (the queen’s blood), which is the key element that louis, everyone, needs to finally progress on their quest towards a brighter future, but he refuses to cooperate simply because he is not interested. humans and revenants alike, they do not concern him. this would often result in disagreement between them (not that cael truly cares).
2. cael does not remember isabelle’s name nor face, which is why even after they have been acquainted, he might forget who she is. this is partly due to the intensified severity of his amnesia after inheriting the queen’s blood, and mostly due to his habit to isolate himself. despite the fact that he possesses a monstrous photographic memory, he has always had trouble remembering faces and names ever since he was a child. he struggled with telling different people apart or recreating their supposed image inside his head as everything would eventually dissipate into nothingness, and he would be surrounded by strangers again. this only worsened when he reached adulthood. he does not know who is who. a foe? or a friend? or neither? who are you? he began isolating himself because of this. unless he makes an effort to engrave someone’s existence into his soul, he will treat everyone with the same apathy, detachment and indifference, sometimes even hostility.
3. cael prefers to work alone, so when isabelle decides to tag along (for whatever reason, it could either be she wants to make sure he does not change his mind halfway after agreeing to help them, or she is skeptical about his trustworthiness which is totally valid, or whatever), isabelle will have to look after herself because cael is the worst partner. he will not wait for her, he will not help her, and he will act purely out of self-interest; everything he does will only serve his purposes. at the same time, cael does not expect anything from isabelle. she can do whatever she wants as long as it does not interfere with his goals. if she, out of the goodness of her heart (bless her), chooses to aid cael, he will not be grateful for it and there will be no special treatment. but at least, he will not be her enemy. isn’t that a huge relief.
4. isabelle reminds cael of cruz, especially when they first met. in fact, he almost mistook isabelle for cruz if not for cruz’s blood still hot on his hands. this resemblance agitates him, causing his body to react in the most physical way ever as his mentality is forced to piece broken fragments of unwanted memories back together. cruz was an anomaly in his life. she was an unexpected factor that somehow managed to touch even the most rotten part inside him, breathing life into the growing chaos. he was made to feel things when he was with her, to feel the changes. it was unfamiliar. it made him lose sight of who he was. so he did the sensible thing— the only thing he was capable of, the only thing he was created for: destroy her to prevent the spread of madness, to put things back into their rightful place. even now he has forgotten all of those, cael would usually avoid staying alone with isabelle to stop himself from losing control.

HEADCANON. to some degree...bianca kind of has a death wish. like she only takes care of herself for her job and when it comes to contracts, she throws herself into situations where it’s debatable whether she gets out of them or not but she DOES and part of her is almost disappointed

Okay I see there are those who are confused as to why most of us are pissed about 15x19 I will gladly explain in depth:
Tumblr media
Let’s start off with our boys Adam Milligan & Michael. These characters have not been seen for 10 fucking years. During that time there were Adam stans like myself campaigning like mad to have him and the infamous archangel return for some much needed closure. We had to content ourselves with headcanons, fanfictions and metas based on what we briefly knew of Adam and Michael as people while they unfairly sat in Hell. You might have seen the “Adam’s Still in Hell” memes that circulated. WE WAITED OVER A DECADE FOR THIS. And finally SPN answers our prayers and returns these boys back into the story for the final season. None of us anticipated what their arc and dynamic would look like. Before we could only imagine who these two characters were/are after having been trapped in a cage so long; what their personalities would be like and if they’d be antagonistic to TFW. 15x08 was a surprise because not only were Adam and Michael likable right out of the gate but the writing for them and their dynamic was damn near flawless! And Jake fucking stole the show he killed it as these two. It’s a crime they were not featured in more episodes because the chemistry between these characters is amazing and they’re played by the same dude.
We were given so much background into both Adam and Michael’s psyches in just a short period of time. Their motivations, interests and how they viewed those that wronged them (like the Winchesters); how Hell affected/changed them both and how they viewed their families. We got to see them banter, cooperate with one another and most importantly their different personalities. With Jake Abel appearing in only a handful of SPN episodes, he still fleshed out Michael and Adam beautifully; giving them layers and complexities that most side-characters (who’ve appeared more times than they have) didn’t. The way Jake played Adam’s anger and resentment towards his brothers was brilliant because it’s more under the surface compared to his angsty teenage self in 5x18. He’d become somewhat restrained, laid-back, gentler and wiser which works because Adam displays traits similar to Sam and Dean. He’s kinder and has a sense of humor but none of that distracts from rational thought as he’s quick to analyze and dissect situations. Man, he would’ve made a great hunter/Men of Letters recruit. We know right off the bat Adam’s pissed at his brothers for abandoning him in a thousand-year-prison-sentence and didn’t lift a finger BUT that ironically doesn’t compromise his willingness to help them unlike his past self in 5x18. Jake gets the point across with this character without saying much and that’s what made him so compelling to watch in this episode.
Now Michael was even more of a mystery onion since he wasn’t onscreen as much as Adam had been in past episodes so Jake got to really build on top of this character. Going from the uptight, cold-blooded merciless celestial warrior/dutiful son of God we saw in 5x22 to someone whom despite his arrogance and regal princely demeanor was very human, intelligent, fair, mindful and compassionate. He trusted Adam and respected his opinions even if he didn’t agree 100%. Whereas most angels take over the vessel completely from their original occupant; Michael chooses to share his vessel with Adam as a mutual agreement which says a lot about who he is. He’s fascinated with humanity and wanted to explore it instead of returning to his throne in the clouds. We know that Michael was created specifically to be Humanity’s protector and guardian of Heaven and Earth so these quirks he’d demonstrated in 15x08 aren’t too far off. He holds a lot of pain inside from his abandonment issues with his father whom he loves to a fault and grief over the death of his brothers. On the surface there’s very much an abused child syndrome thing going on with him though he masks it with a domineering presence. And above all this we saw that he was capable of forgiveness. Whether or not Michael always had these traits inside to begin with, its very evident that his friendship with Adam influenced the person he became post-Hell. And that was someone who, like Castiel, chose to rebel for the sake of free will by aligning himself with the Winchesters after witnessing the evil his father had committed. He actually cared about saving the world. This is what we call character development.
Tumblr media
What does 15x19 do? It shits all over that. We don’t get to see Adam and Michael’s dynamic at all; and this was perhaps one of (if not the first) most healthy portrayal of a relationship between an angel and its original vessel occupant in the history of Supernatural. Adam is just killed off-screen Thanos style without so much as one last word and Michael barely reacts like he gives a crap. It was just established to us in 15x08 that he’d developed an emotional bond with Adam through years of inhabiting the same body. He protected Adam while they were trapped together in Hell. They were each other’s only friend and source of comfort. They’d developed a certain co-dependency on each other while respecting one another’s space. They’d both made peace with their joint situation. All they had was each other and the writing in 15x19 basically tells us their relationship meant absolutely NOTHING to Michael based on his OOC actions in this episode. He shows up much darker and shadier now that Adam is gone and its like all those years of friendship, things like that independence, newfound strength and humility he’d gained from living with a human for so long are erased. Michael just reverts back to Chuck’s 5x22 bitchboy persona in the most ridiculous 180 shift I’ve ever seen in my whole damn life. And all because his little brother called him mean names. Pitiful. Just when he lectures Lucifer about standing up for what’s right; he betrays his own words, his allies and the rest of humanity in T-minus 2 minutes. That is total character assassination. Nothing about this motivation makes any sense.
There’s no build up to it, no foreshadowing in 15x08 or throughout 15x19 until they get to the lake. He’s completely deconstructed as a character in this episode and rendered weak. It’s like 15x08 never happened. Stripped of all his development for lousy shock value. Instead utilizing all of what he’d learned through Adam and sticking it to Lucifer by proving he could be more than what Chuck tried to mold him into; Michael becomes just another NPC in the story forfeiting the hero he was. And his reasons for siding with Chuck are never specified. Was it about about saving Adam? Was it about proving something to Lucifer (whom he’d already killed in anti-climatic fashion)? Was it all an act that he was in on with the Winchesters; cause there’s absolutely NO FUCKING WAY they could’ve predicted he’d flip on them like that for their magical plan to work. Not after everything Chuck’s done, killing Adam and Jack and leaving Michael to rot in Hell for eternity. And why would he suddenly go along with destroying the Earth when defeating Chuck would probably get Adam back (if that was his goal) which IT DID not to mention its his sworn duty to freaking protect humanity, hello? So his betrayal meant jack shit in the end as it got him killed by his fucking dad!! He’s brought back into the show only to be ruined forever and killed off in the stupidest fashion.
Moving on.
Tumblr media
Jack Kline & Castiel. This iron-clad relationship has been in development for 4 in 1/2 years since before Jack was even born. And next to Adam & Michael its the other most healthy relationship on the show. Castiel, a million year old celestial being, spent the first 9 years of his arc on Supernatural following around the Winchesters, being torn between his loyalty to them and to Heaven. He rebelled when he was supposed to be a straight-by-the-book warrior of God. And he defied every rule in the process even when the odds were stacked against him. There was an endless rinse and repeat cycle of love, loss, betrayal and redemption when it came to his relationship with Sam and Dean. It made his character complex, interesting and layered but it still didn’t give him an arc that was his own. Castiel started out moreso being written as just the Winchester’s angel BFF/side-kick. Until Lucifer got Kelly Kline pregnant in 12x08 then things really took off. Before this, Castiel was a lost soul. His faith was broken, he was depressed, lonely, battered and rundown from years of being conflicted over the other angels and Sam & Dean. He felt he’d lost a sense of self and meaning in his life. And didn’t have a mission. Once he turned on Heaven’s orders, Castiel was a rebel angel without a cause so to speak. But like I said this changes the moment he meets Kelly.
Originally Castiel was suppose to kill Kelly in 12x19 because she was carrying the child of the devil and Nephilim are considered forbidden abominations. Told that if Lucifer’s kid was born he could unleash even more evil into the world. But instead of doing what he thought he should, Castiel decides to runaway with her. Choosing to protect her from all threats (Lucifer, demons, other angels, princes of Hell); this especially included the Winchesters. During this short time-frame the angel develops a strong, emotional bond with Kelly and her unborn son that stretches all the way to the S12 finale; to the point where it actually gave him a power-boost. From the womb, Jack appoints Castiel to be his father and protector and he’s given a glimpse into the child’s destiny that he’ll bring paradise to the world. A prophecy that the writers establish head on. This is an unusual circumstance because right here is where Castiel’s solo arc apart from the Sam & Dean takes shape. The journey of becoming a first time parent and guardian. Its a new kind of independence that for the first time has nothing to do with his friends or his family members/colleagues in the sky. Its his own personal mission that he willingly accepts, the second he connects with Jack from inside Kelly. Castiel immediately falls in love with him, before they even see each other; and adopts the boy devoting himself to keeping him safe. Making a promise to Kelly that would later become a vital plot-point in the seasons to come.
Castiel literally risks everything (Heaven and Earth) to ensure Jack’s birth and ends up dead by 12x23′s startling conclusion. Leaving the newborn infant Nephilim alone in the care of the Winchesters going into season 13; scared, confused and aged into a seemingly 18 year old boy for his own protection. And Alexander Calvert who is a fantastic addition to the cast really brings something wonderful to this role; he’s like a breath of fresh air and a bright light in the middle of a dark room. Jack’s naïve, innocent and curious about his surroundings but also as Castiel once put it “remarkably intuitive”. Right when he’s introduced his arc is intentionally paralleled with Castiel’s. Their alien-fish-out-of-water beginning is practically identical as is their adorable stoic facial expressions. Like father like son. And this helps because while the angel is currently dead in the beginning of season 13, there’s an empty void he’s left behind. So Jack is kind of his temporary stand-in. Odd enough this type of switcharoo would’ve been considered very controversial but it’s handled quite well. Alex is so likable and charming I almost wish Supernatural had introduced him sooner. I mean I really thought I was looking at Castiel’s actual mini-me and not the son of Satan. But I digress Jack’s story in the first half of this season is pretty much about discovery and reuniting with Castiel. He’s a baby so everything is new to him but he’s also one of the most powerful beings in the universe destined for greatness which makes the Winchesters very nervous.
Tumblr media
Jack remembers choosing Castiel as his dad which is why he already feels strongly connected to him. Its a bond so powerful that it actually resurrects Castiel out of the Empty the first time. Something Chuck himself was unable to do (that was until the mess that is 15x19). When they’re finally reunited the payoff comes so naturally. Misha and Alex have such a phenomenal onscreen chemistry starting with that first hug; they really play off one another so well that it doesn’t feel like two angels interacting but a genuine father and son duo. So much of what makes Jack and Castiel’s relationship so relatable, deep and endearing is because of what the actors bring to it. But they’re not just a fascinating relationship, they’re compelling on their own too. Both trying to find their way in the world and within the Winchesters’ lives. Death is no stranger to either of them (tragic being that Jack is only a toddler). They’ve each experienced their own personal pain, traumas, life lessons, mistakes and decisions. The biggest for Castiel would be his deal with the Empty to save Jack in 14x08. While for Jack it was the consequences of said deal that would lose his soul causing him to accidently kill Sam and Dean’s mom in 14x18 as a result (something that Jack struggles with immensely to the brink of depression from so much guilt and regret that he’d rather die). Repercussions that would follow into the shows final season. What’s interesting about this deal though is that Castiel made it on parental instinct alone not as a promise to Kelly. He chose to sacrifice himself for the sake of his son as a selfless act of love and kept it a secret from Sam & Dean until his death in 15x18. That’s the extent how much this child meant to him. The other great thing about their family dynamic is that it parallels nicely with the Winchesters. Castiel and Jack share this unconditional love that can never be broken. its even greater than their ties to the Winchesters themselves just as Sam & Dean’s love for each other is greater than any of their other relationships. They would do anything for each other. Castiel would go to the ends of the earth for the little nougat baby because that’s his son.
Tumblr media
Each time these characters were faced with danger or died, Castiel and Jack were overcome with extreme devastation and distress. That said its not just pain that binds these two its happiness. Jack is the best thing that ever happened to Castiel. Literally becoming a father to that child saved him. It brought him back to life, restored his faith and gave him a sense of self-worth and hope he’d long since abandoned. And for Jack, Castiel is the best dad he’ll ever have! He gave this baby comfort, wisdom, nurturing, strength. Was always there when he needed him whether it was to talk or to have his back. No other person in Jack’s life has ever made such an important impact nor made him feel more safe and loved than Castiel. Even when Jack had done such a horrible thing to Mary alienating himself from his family; it was Castiel’s unyielding devotion to Jack that ended up being his salvation. This was huge because once again he’d chosen over the Winchesters proving that no matter what (whether it be the world ending) his son comes first. So when Castiel’s pact with the Empty finally comes due in 15x18 you’d think it’d have an earth-shattering affect on Jack in 15x19. I mean for the first bit it does...until he becomes God. Then its like to hell with that relationship. Castiel is a complete afterthought to Jack and the rest of TFW in this episode. JACK DOESN’T EVEN GET TO GRIEVE HIM PROPERLY. And he just lost his dad because of a deal he’d made a year ago for him. A DEAL JACK HAS BEEN FUCKING DREADING WHILE HE WAS SOULLESS MIND YOU. And when he finally has the power to bring him back, he doesn’t? Jack just walks around with a conceited smirk on his face, bids Sam and Dean adieu and fucks off. I mean who gives a shit right, its only your dad that you love more than anything. This was extremely OOC given that time in 14x14 Jack nearly lost his shit when Castiel got infected with gorgon poison; the anti-venom wasn’t working so Jack resorts to using his powers putting his soul at risk.
I mean if he was so limited to helping Castiel in the Empty AT LEAST FREAKING CLARIFIY THIS TO THE AUDIENCE. This is not about shipping a certain pairing btw. Jack becoming God is not the issue its his characterization after the fact. His first instinct would’ve been to save his dad above getting in touch with the Earth. Yes we knew this transformation was coming it was foreshowed way back in Season 12. Does that justify bad writing or character assassination?? HELL NO.
This is what I’m talking about, episode 15x19 deliberately butchers these characters and their relationships. It shat all over them. No one is behaving like themselves. The pacing is wonky and inconstant. The script feels like it underwent several rewrites and I swear there were scenes cut out. The acting is off too and maybe the pandemic could be blamed for these things but it ultimately falls on the writer. Buckleming screwed up by showing us they don’t know who the hell these characters are, their motivations nor do they give a rat’s ass. And its noticeable on screen. I’ve known better fanfiction writers for SPN than these guys. It’s like they all came back to work but just didn’t care to put the effort into it. That’s why people like me are upset and we have every freaking right to be. Some of us have been with this series for the entire 15 year run. I at least expect these characters to be handled better and for things to make sense. 15x19 doesn’t and its not satisfying its just a cruel joke. The writers and Dabb should be embarrassed to have put this out there thinking we’d just swallow it and shut up. But far as I’m concerned the only thing this episode serves is to disrespect and ruin everybody while angering long-time fans.
MICHAEL. ADAM MILLIGAN. JACK KLINE AND CASTIEL DESERVED BETTER. And that’s the tea.

(Mostly) Detz Headcanons Because I Can
Fitz reaches a point where he just really doesn’t care about strictly following as many rules as possible anymore (doesn’t mean he’s irresponsible, though, he’s definitely still the group parent) and begins borrowing Alden’s pathfinder to the forbidden cities when it’s convenient
“Convenient” meant meeting the need to gather resources or follow through leads, at first, but then it turned into mostly taking Dex to pretty places he remembered from the Sophie Search
Usually, it goes really well; Fitz loves really likes the way Dex lights up and gushes about details of places he likes. He starts talking super fast through the grin that’s wide enough to break his face - if Fitz gets lucky, he starts bouncing up and down and pointing enthusiastically at things. Sometimes Fitz understands, sometimes he doesn’t. Either way, he always melts
...Except for the one time that Fitz didn’t realize that Paris was the place Dex had been taken when the Neverseen kidnapped him and Sophie. Dex had an almost instantaneous panic attack once he realized where they were
As soon as he explained Fitz got them out of there asap, and they just ended up drinking cinnacreme and hanging out (read: having snowball fights) at Rimeshire for the rest of the day
Dex assured him that it was fine, he didn’t know, but that still keeps Fitz up at night
One time Dex starts wondering out loud about the history of some cool ruins Fitz took him to and, to his surprise, Fitz immediately goes into an excited tangent about the history of the place
And that’s how Dex finds out that Fitz is a major history nerd
Fitz gets embarrassed afterwards because he’s used to boring and/or losing people when he starts rambling about history, but Dex assures him that he thinks it’s cool
Not too long after that Dex decides it’s safe to infodump on technology and alchemy projects
Unlike everyone else, Fitz actually tries to understand him and asks questions ’n’ stuff
Even if it means backtracking a lot, Dex really likes it
Idk if it’s official canon or not but I agree with the rest of the fandom when they say that Fitz is big on hand holding and kissing the back of his partner(s)’s hand(s)
And forehead kisses
And cuddling
(In private, he’s not big on pda and neither is Dex)
Cuddling and forehead kisses change a bit when Dex is suddenly taller than Fitz, because it makes being the big spoon kinda difficult and he has to get on his tip toes to kiss Dex’s forehead
Fitz (lightheartedly) freaks out over that because “You’re a cinnamon roll, I wanna be able to, like, tuck you under my chin and protect you and stuff except that I can’t now, what the heck”
So for a while Fitz decides heels and platform shoes are his favorite footwear, anything to be taller than Dex (who, to Fitz’s dismay, only keeps getting taller and taller)
He has Biana and Della teach him how to run in heels and everything
Everyone finds it hilarious, though Fitz insists it’s not
Then Dex slips at one point and Fitz catches him just fine
And while Dex is spluttering and blushing like crazy Fitz realizes that even though he’s shorter he can still carry Dex bridal style, so that automatically makes being shorter fine
Fitz still breaks out heels sometimes for fun but it’s no longer a Necessity
It becomes a Thing for Fitz to randomly scoop Dex up into his arms
At first Dex gets super flustered whenever Fitz does that, but he gets accustomed to it and just laughs most of the time
By the time Dex is done growing he’s at least five inches taller than Fitz so it looks a little bit weird, but everyone finds it endearing
Kesler and Juline were nice to Fitz before but once it became apparent the triplets actually listened to him, (having Biana for a sister has made him a master negotiator) they basically adopted him
He doesn’t mind, being at Rimeshire feels like he’s actually living, instead of being Mr. Perfect around everyone except for Biana at Everglen
The Dizznees are also really good at ice skating, for the most part
So they rope him into that every now and then
Dex, Juline, and the triplets are like. Pro level. The former two are super patient and nice about how Fitz is definitely not on the same level as him, but the triplets totally poke fun at him whenever they get the chance
They always apologize when they cross a line though, so Fitz doesn’t really mind
Dex doesn’t really get many opportunities to have fun out on the ice anymore, so he doesn’t really resist too much when the triplets challenge him to a race or something
Fitz just chills on the sidelines for the most part when that happens, he’s actually pretty good at being a cheerleader
What makes him feel better about his skill level is how within a week he’s better than Kesler
Kesler’s coordination skills just. REFUSE. to cooperate with ice skating
He can’t get on the ice without immediately face planting unless he’s holding Juline’s hand, even after about at least 2 decades of ice skating with an unofficial pro
It’s both impressive and adorable how when the triplets start skating towards Fitz, Dex will go out of his way to skate to him faster because he needs to be “protected”
(He really does, but Fitz won’t acknowledge it lol)
Sometimes Dex will skate in circles around him for a bit while teasing him and then leaving again
He laughs the whole time while Fitz whines
FItz isn’t sure whether that’s worse than when he skates up to him out of the blue, gives him a quick kiss, and then leaves again
At least Fitz is better at tying shoe laces, Dex hasn’t ever bothered to learn the right way to tie them
Speaking of tying things, Fitz finds the lopsided bows that Dex ties onto the occasional gifts he gives Fitz quite charming
Dex’s gifts are almost always something that has a practical use, and quickly become integrated into Fitz’s everyday life
It has somehow made Fitz even more of a sap than he was before which Biana didn’t think was possible
A lot of times when Fitz gives him something he’ll see Dex turn into something to fidget with; he breaks it down and reassembles it into something completely different
The first time Dex did it he had literally no idea what he was doing, and then when he realized, he was horrified
Fitz thought it was super cool though
(It’s become more of an incentive for Fitz to get gifts for him, someone needs to stop this man-)

@heleencollier Hi, I am answering your question about Truthteller here because that post was getting long and I didn’t want to keep annoying OP 😂 Also I was going to link your response but it seems that you and I, or at least I, am now blocked by OP 🤷‍♀️
I’ve never really written about this, so it got a bit longer than I expected!
Re: Truthteller and Az and Elain, I have very mixed feelings about it. It was clearly an important moment for Az, very symbolic because this dagger is important to him. Rhys tells Feyre that he never let anyone else touch it. (Lowkey wonder if Mor gave it to him? But that’s purely my headcanon speculation.) That scene was in the coloring book! It could have been a really poignant moment, but some stuff that happens before and after colors my perception of it away from just being 😍
So one thing that colors my perception of that is the way that Elain and Azriel met. Before they go to the manor, Feyre tells Cassian and Azriel that Elain can convince anyone to do anything with a smile. Azriel then sees that Elain is terrified by the two of them in her home, and gives her a bland smile and tries to act as meek as he possibly can so that he can put her at ease, and she will convince Nesta to let them use the house. He is just using the intel that Feyre gave him to try to get Nesta and Elain to let them use the house for their meeting with the mortal queens. (This connects to my third point, I know it doesn’t seem relevant right now.)
The second thing to consider is that this scene is after he has rescued Elain. Given Azriel’s whole history with seeing his mother mistreated, and then seeing Mor brutalized and saving her, and then Elain... I think that his view of her shifts at that point. This is, of course, just my interpretation! But it seems that Azriel has started to change his thinking from “I need to put this woman at ease and then rescue her because she is my High Lady’s sister” to “Hm, she is perfect?? Nothing shall touch???”
Another thing to think about is the fact that Elain is not trained. There is no reason to assume she would join any of the fighting. That reinforces the idea that a lot of his actions towards her are... placating. He is trying to put her at ease. No one actually expects her to use Truthteller, so it’s a purely symbolic gesture. The only time that she does use it is when she is rescuing Nesta. When Azriel tells Elain “some say that it is spelled to strike true,” that tells me that, again, he is doing this symbolically. “Some say?” Isn’t it his dagger? Wouldn’t he know? But the idea of Truthteller having a mythology, so to speak, would put her at ease since she has had no training in how to use it, so she thinks that it will protect her regardless. This mirrors his treatment of her before, trying to put her at ease so that she will cooperate with them as High Fae.
Finally, Elain returns Truthteller without looking back. She did what she had to do, but she has no interest in a life where she needs such tools. Feyre says that she would paint the scene, the dagger “the only link between them”, so it makes sense for it to appear in the coloring book. And that only link is now gone, because Elain returned it as soon as she could.
I’m sure there are other interpretations of this scene! I am curious what other people think. Personally, I think that his behavior towards Elain before that is just as important as the scene itself because it sets a precedent.

I was reading the questions you've answered, and I'm curious now: you said that the co-existence between preds and prey is very recently. So I was thinking the HP world from years ago, when pred could snatch up whoever prey they wanted... How was the society in that time? How did they live? (Headcanon: prey lived underground?) Did the preds have no qualms in consuming whoever they could find? (prey children/teens or the elderly, for example?)... The harmony was founded by a prey or pred? (1/2)
What was the reason for the preds to make the jump from consuming indiscriminately to the public/private contracted prey? (another headcanon: preykind severely disminishing in numbers?) I find your worldbuilding so enchanting, I'm sorry for the avalanche of questions. You're awesome! (2/2)
AHHHH YES!!! THE QUESTION I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!!! No need to apologize!!! I have considered making a post about stuff like this for awhile now but I’m always like “do people REALLY wanna hear all that?” But now i have the perfect excuse. Thank you, anon! You’re awesome too!! (WARNING this kinda turned into a chapter length read. So I hope y’all like to read history about fictional worlds.)
Okay so. This is all stuff I’ve sorta kept in my head and have built upon when I’ve had ideas, so sorry if there are some gaps currently haha.
So I imagine preds and prey started trying to “make peace” about five centuries ago but didn’t start living in true “harmony” until about two hundred years ago. And I use the term “harmony” loosely because clearly there’s still a lot of infighting happening. Before that, the preds and prey lived in two entirely separate cultures. The prey lived in larger, more stationary groups while the preds lived in much smaller, more nomadic groups. They also DEFINITELY didn’t speak the same language.
So for preds, the groups they would live in were more like traveling pods that consisted of maybe 1-3 families living/working together. Having groups of preds getting too large was… not sustainable. It would create too much competition for food. So each group would usually give other groups of preds a wide berth. Granted there were definitely still spats for territory, especially if said territory had a good supply of prey available.
Prey, much like in modern times, were never really the preds’ main food source, however. Preds would still hunt and gather like normal. It would usually take some organizing to get a raid together on a prey village (or a pred could just get lucky and stumble across one that wandered off alone). Consuming prey all the time was just too much effort. They weren’t a practical food source nor a completely sustainable one if they were over-predated. Also! Keep in mind, the more a pred consumes, the more their body acclimates to handling such a large meal. It would be better for the preds to consume every once in awhile and have their prey take longer to digest (hence, keeping them fueled longer) than to consume ALL THE TIME and risk addiction. I think consuming would probably become more regular in the cold months too, when it was harder for preds to find other food sources.
As for WHO the preds would consume? Definitely adults would make for the best meals. Children? Well, I imagine prey would be very protective of their children, first of all, making them difficult to obtain. But also they would just make… not as filling meals? Also prey children are mostly the same size as pred children so there might be that little hesitation there on the pred’s end as they’re reminded of their own kind. I guess if the pred is desperate? There’s always gonna be a time and place for special circumstances. As for the elderly… I imagine they also live in places that are harder for preds to get to. I also think if a prey managed to live that long, they would have a trick or two up their sleeve. But like I said, there’s always a possibility for things to happen.
Now for how prey live…. Like I said, they live in larger groups. There is safety in numbers, after all. These groups were basically villages, sometimes even cities where prey could really know their territory and set up defenses against any invading preds. (An underground dwelling is really cool idea tho! I also believe that prey evolved to be able to fold themselves up and be comfortable/feel safe in tight spaces that preds could never reach them in, so prey living in like a cave system might actually work really well!) Like it’s been stated in the story, prey tend to have a lot more children than preds for “just in case.” This could cause their towns to become rather large and populous sometimes.
Prey, also unlike preds, usually tried to keep in contact with neighboring towns/villages/cities. This was one of the key factors for what made it possible for the shift to both sides living in harmony to happen. Since the prey lived in settlements and kept in contact with other prey settlements, it allowed for a certain development of culture as well as the sharing and recording of knowledge that preds… just didn’t have. Prey were able to develop things like farming and running water. They could study math and science and share their knowledge in libraries and schools. They were really on their way to becoming an advanced society, they just had one big (both figurative and literal) problem holding them back. They constantly had preds attacking and killing off their people.
Despite their efforts to fight them off, the prey just weren’t winning. So they decided, if a war against preds wasn’t going to get them anywhere, then why not make peace? The first step for this was the prey learning the preds’ language. This was… dangerous, of course. But it was done enough that the prey were able to open conversation with preds. Just this move alone caused a huge shift between both sides. What are you supposed to do when your food, which for centuries has only babbled nonsense at you before you swallowed it down, suddenly starts speaking to you like an equal? It certainly gave preds pause, but not enough to stop consuming. Not that the prey didn’t expect this. They approached the preds with more than just a common language. Their first big move was offering them food. And not just any food, but GOOD FOOD. Cooked food, decadent food, spiced foods, foods that preds didn’t have the resources (nor the patience) to prepare.
Sharing food took… probably a little more effort than one might expect. Prey and preds view food fundamentally different. To prey, it’s sustenance but also something to enjoy and connect with. To preds, it’s simply something to stop hunger. There was a sort of learning curve for preds to actually learn to ENJOY food for its flavor, but once they got it… OH BOY!!! A door was opened! Because despite LIKING prey food, the preds weren’t always so good at preparing it, so it gave the prey something they could exchange for safety. (This is also something that persists into modern times. Preds are still often stereotyped as not having very refined palates and not being very good at preparing food. This is referenced a little in Heart Pangs itself as well as the one-shot I posted last week!) Once the food trade became established, it opened up relations enough to exchange other things!
The prey shared would they could with the preds in exchange for their own survival. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t. Sometimes it SEEMED to work but then the preds turned on them and things went downhill very quickly. But the prey had the advantage of sheer numbers and determination on their side (that and if they didn’t keep pushing they would literally be eaten alive). It took generations of negotiations, but the preds and prey eventually came to a sort of truce, though consuming never stopped entirely.
The preds weren’t stupid, they saw the prey had a lot of good stuff to offer them. At first they took what they needed and went their separate ways, but as they gained more trust from the prey, the preds encroached more and more into their territories until both sides were more or less neighbors. There were some advantages to this. If both sides cooperated enough, they were able to make further advances as civilized societies. But there were also disadvantages… like the fact that the preds were always bigger and the prey were always making sure not to anger them so it became very easy for the preds to take whatever they wanted and leave the prey with less than they deserved.
The prey even began to lose their own language as most of the preds couldn’t be bothered to learn the prey’s language (although a lot of prey terms for food and science stuck around). The preds stopped being the enemy who lived outside the prey’s walls and suddenly became the bully who lived next door. Yes, technically the prey were a little safer than before, but the advantages they once held over the preds were slipping away as the preds claimed more and more of what the prey had until the preds were able to start developing their OWN advantages.
For a long time, the preds and prey operated as two different societies that lived in one space, meaning each group had their own leaders and their own laws. But as things began getting more and more strained between each side (as they tend to do when two natural enemies live side-by-side), the prey (once more) tried to make peace. They made the bold move of reaching out to the pred leaders in an attempt to work together and function as a singular society (although both sides more or less continued to live as two societies, just under the rule of one government). The preds were surprisingly open to this change, which was a relief to the prey… at first. But then it became clear that this was mostly just a power grab for the preds to acquire more status and wealth and power amongst the prey.
Besides the fact that a lot of prey were falling into poverty because of this, the most glaring issue was that the “unification” had made it even easier for a lot of preds to break the peace and consume prey with barely any consequences. This caused a lot of prey to flee and seek out safer, more remote places to live. Eventually it got to the point where the prey leaders threatened to break away from pred society completely. The preds didn’t like this, though, as they’d gotten very used to having prey within easy reach. They also knew that losing half the people in their society would cause a lot of problems in terms of keeping everything running smoothly. However, the preds very much did not want to give up consuming entirely. It was in their nature after all, they argued.
So after A LOT of negotiations, both sides came to a compromise. The preds would actually start enforcing consuming as something illegal UNLESS the prey being consumed had agreed to it beforehand. Obviously the prey leaders couldn’t see any prey ever AGREEING to being consumed, so they settled on the compromise thinking that was the end of it. This was the true beginning of the “harmony” between preds and prey, but of course, the preds always have something up their sleeves.
Rich preds began offering up money and food and shelter to all those desperate prey in poverty. Those prey could get everything they could ever want for, the only payment was their lives ending in said pred’s gut (after a specified amount of time). These ventures started slow, but once they started to catch on, BOY DID THEY CATCH ON. The desperate prey began hearing about certain preds who were practically giving away wealth, all it took was a signature written in (figurative) blood. Meanwhile preds began hearing about other preds who had found a loophole in the consuming law and wanted in on the action. Like any good entrepreneur, the preds turned their contracts into a business and started selling them to other preds.
The prey leaders, of course, despised this, but what could they do? It all aligned with the compromise they had made. The only thing they could do was stand by and help come up with regulations for this new practice. So they did. Over the decades, the contracting businesses grew to what they are today (large corporate monsters… although the smaller, more private contracts still exist) as well as became the core to keeping the peace. Even the government itself offers contracting services now.
Society has shifted considerably in the years since harmony was reached. The two sides have mostly learned to live with each other. Prey have fought viciously to be treated as equals while a lot of preds go their whole lives without consuming (particularly fatally) even once. And, as you know, the development of neutralizers allowed preds to experience consuming without having to hurt anyone. A lot of progress has been made, but a lot of progress still needs to happen.
And I think that pretty much catches us up to the setting of Heart Pangs (whew)! I keep thinking it would be really cool to write a story that takes places in an earlier time period to further explore how different the relations between preds and prey would be, but I have yet to come up with a plot haha. Maybe someday. I’m sure an idea will come to me at a proper time. Anydays, thank you for your interest! It was really nice to be able to (finally) type all this up somewhere!!

👶🏼 what would the spawn of Cooper and Jessie look like? 👀
yesss let’s let the legends carry on to another generation!!
name: i think they would want to pick something with a cutesy southern flair but also dignified, so i’m going with “sawyer”
birthdate: i’m picking december 11th, because since jessie’s an aries and cooper’s a leo iirc i think it would be interesting make him a sagittarius and have a full fire house.
personality headcanon: extremely energetic and free spirited. very jocular, usually in a goodhearted manner but occasionally has a temper and some of his mother’s biting sarcasm slips out. can be a bit spacey at times, and grows easily bored when not doing something active or that holds his interest.
what was their first word and how old were they when they said it: outside of “mama” and “dada,” it was “go.”
did they get in trouble in school: fairly often, yes. he was intelligent did well in class when motivated, but also inherited some of his parents’ shared impulsivity, so he occasionally acted out or challenged authority.
which parent were they more attached to: i imagine it changed fairly often, they both have different kinds of “fun parent” energies so probably heavily mood and age based.
what was their favorite toy: a little mini lasso cooper got him, had a blast trying to rope in the family pets and his parents.
did they cry a lot as a baby: not really, he was a very agreeable baby. but when he didn’t get something on time or was very pained or frustrated, he could be hard to calm down.
movie they watched over and over: probably an old western cooper showed him. maybe shane?
what was their favorite subject in school: history or social studies
were they social growing up or quiet: more social! he was pretty friendly with everyone, although it could be harder for him to make close friends.
which parent do they take after: definitely both, he has a lot of their shared traits but also some of their individual ones! (he’s more friendly like cooper, but can also be very quick and sarcastic like jessie.) he looks a little more like cooper’s kiddo off the bat because he got the blonde hair, but a little closer look and he has jessie’s face shape and eye color.
what do they grow up to be: i think he takes a while to settle on a career, but when he does i could possibly see teacher? he’s very knowledgeable and focused when he finds something he’s really interested in, and would be good and keeping kids engaged and entertained with the material.
three random headcanons: 1. tried playing a few sports in school, but ended up getting bored with most of them and quitting. still likes to be very physically active, but prefers to go at his own pace. 2. probably went through a few big moves as a child, given jessie and cooper both have a history of them. 3. known for bringing home stray animals as a child, which his parents never had the heart to turn away. mostly the expected cats and dogs but there’s also a lizard in the mix.
likes & dislikes: he loves being outdoors and active, traveling to new places, long drives with friends, animals, and picking up new hobbies. dislikes too much structure and routine, pretentious people, and being lonely.
do they get along with their parents: they squabble from time to time and there was definitely a teenage rebellion phase, but they’ve never had a serious disagreement i don’t think. everyone but jessie tends to get over things quickly and she’s not going to stew too much.

SU Historic Headcanon AU
My Steven Universe historic head canon AU based on real world geography and historical events, not the current canon by Rebecca Sugar. In this case, Crystal Gems are involved in several historical events, including US Independence, US Civil War, Two World Wars, also Indonesian Quest for Independence.
Homeworld gems realized that human race is intelligent enough to survive, so they decided to secretly feeding crisis, corruption, and reaping warfare throughout human history. The ultimate goal, to make humanity destroy themselves so it will dissapointed Pink Diamond and make her feel betrayed by species she deemed worth protects for. Also, there is excuse why humanity deserved to be destroyed.
How did they do it? Homeworld sends some Onyx spies to infiltrate human institutions, government, and corporations. This Onyx also inspires human nations and ethnics to set them against each other (adu domba) . Such inspirations releases pandora’s box that bring humanity into constant warfare. This brutality occur from ancient empires (Persians, Greek, Roman), to medieval (Europe, Japan, Mongol), colonial (British, Spain, Dutch, etc), until modern times (WW1, WW2, Cold War, 9/11 Bombings).
If the cluster project doesn’t work properly, Homeworld will soon to enact the final plan: World War 3 and Nuclear Arsenal that will soon bring humanity into their deepest rock bottom (post atomic horror). After that, it will attract Pink to return to the diamond’s throne and give up her intentions to save earth.
I will make several historic events that support my SU historic headcanon soon.
This headcanon will also related to my soon-to-develop Steven Universe x Star Trek Crossover AU
Quoes from Arnim Zola in Captain America: Winter Soldier (2013): ‘change HYDRA with Homeworld’
“For millenias, Homeworld has been secretly feeding crises, reaping war. And when history did not cooperate, history was changed.”
“Accidents will happen. Homeworld created a world so chaotic that humanity is finally ready to sacrifice its freedom to gain its security. Once the purification process is complete, Homeworld's New World Order will arise.“

could you do a one shot where Maeve goes to Nate after she goes to the arboretum with Luis and she kind of just,,, vents her feelings? I've been thinking about it since your headcanon about maeve and nate
Yessss oh my god I love this. Enjoy!!!
When I knock on Nate’s door, he turns in his chair slowly like the villain in a cartoon.
“What’s up Rojas?”
I shut Nate’s door slowly to give me a chance to control the tears in my eyes before turning around and vaulting myself onto his bed.
“Nothing good huh?” He asks as I pull his pillow towards me and hug it. I don’t answer. That was a rhetorical question. Nate sighs as she stands up from his chair and drops onto the bed next to me. “What’s wrong Maevey?” he asks as he strokes my hair. I turn to face him.
“Do you think I’m an emotional coward?” I ask as I snuggle up against him. He runs his fingers through my hair meditatively, untangling any knots as he goes. “Nate?” I ask after an excruciatingly long pause. “Do you?”
“Well, coward is a strong word,” he says slowly.
I roll onto my back and pull the pillow over my face. “I knew it,” I grumble. Nate pulls the pillow off my face.
“You’re being dramatic. Look, Maevey, you’re practically my little sister, and as your brother, it’s my job to tell you that sometimes you don’t tell people how you feel.”
“Sometimes?” I ask, smiling despite myself. Nate flashes his Macaulay grin.
“Okay, all the time. But seriously, tell me what happened.”
I pull my self up and sit against his wall as I tell him what happened during my afternoon: about how Luis took me to the arboretum and told me he nearly asked me out last year, and how my dumb response lead to the most awkward bike ride in the history of bike rides on our way back to Contigo. Nate’s smirking when I finish.
His mouth twists into weird shapes before he speaks, and I know he’s trying not to laugh at me. I throw my phone at him and he catches it and neatly tosses it back to me in one movement. “Maeve.”
“Yes?”
“You really responded like that?”
“Yeah.”
Nate shakes his head at me. I’m expecting him to mock me or tell me I was wrong, but he just asks, “why?”
“Why what?”
“Why did you respond like that?”
I pause. I was not expecting that question. “I guess I was scared,” I say truthfully.
“Scared of what Maevey?”
“Well,” I pause, twisting my hands together as I try to figure out what I want to say. Nate waits as I find the words. He reaches out and pulls my feet into his lap as I think. He rubs them absentmindedly as I think, and it’s soothing. “Well, I mean, he’s had a crush on me since last year right?”
“Right,” Nate agrees. “Also your feet are cold are you okay?”
“Yeah I’m fine,” I say, hoping that he won’t notice the bruises on my calves.
“Good, carry on,” he pauses, “when you’re ready.”
I take a deep breath. “Well, what if Luis has created this vison of who he thinks I am in his mind. And what if when we’re dating, I don’t live up to that? What if Cooper was right? What if he’ll get tired of me and he just... dumps me?”
I’m waiting for the customary “if he dumps you he doesn’t deserve you” speech from Nate, but it never comes. He just tilts his head thoughtfully and says “do you feel that way about him?”
“What?” I ask. He’s thrown me off guard and judging by his smirk he knows it. I think about that for a moment. “Well, I mean, I feel like I don’t know him as well as I should I guess. I know basic stuff about him, but not everything. I don’t know him the way you know my sister.”
“And that’s expected Maevey. Maevey, have you though that maybe he feels the same way? He’s watched you from afar and he knows stuff about you, but not everything. Not the way Bronwyn knows your or I know you. Part of dating someone is learning those things. I know that Bronwyn drinks black tea with cream instead of milk and that she never adds sugar, but I didn’t know that a year ago.”
“And she didn’t know that you like classical music,” I add.
Nate grins at me. “Exactly. You can’t go into a relationship knowing how it will end or even how it will make you feel Maeve, it’s impossible.”
“But what do you know?” I ask.
“You know how you feel now. It might change, but your feelings are real and you’re allowed to feel them. And I know that you care about Luis. It will be scary for a while, it always is, and even though I don’t know if Luis will dump you or not, I know that you’ll be happy.” He looks at me, his eyes on mine as his finger presses lightly against a bruise. He knows I think as he raises an eyebrow. “And remember this Maeve Rojas: you deserve to be happy.”
I smile at him, and he smiles back.
We don’t talk about Luis for the next hour. We do homework and listen to crappy music and order a pizza, and when I leave, he doesn’t tell me what I should do. He just hugs me and kisses the top of my head. “I love you hermana.”
Sister. He thinks of me as a sister.
“I love you too.”
When I climb into my car, I feel a little lighter. It’s not enough, not at all, but it’s a start
Okay that’s all I have. I love Maeve and Nate this made me so happy to write.

okay becky, you asked for an ask and posted a cheryl gifset so riddle me this: glee characters as riverdale characters - gender and relationships dont matter. go.
I sure did and you sure did deliver and wow this is a tough one oh god here we go (thank you so much for asking, this was a super fun thing to think about even though I have gotten Very Sick of Riverdale lately lmao)
Archie Andrews as Finn Hudson. I feel like this one is obvious. They’re both kind of the “main” guy, they’re both jocks with a musical flair, they’re both kinda dumb at times and get into fights they shouldn’t. This one was easy.
Jughead Jones as Kurt Hummel. This might just be because Jughead is my favourite Riverdale character and Kurt is my favourite Glee character, but I also kind of see the resemblance. They’re both introverts, they’re both sarcastic and quick witted, they’re both smart and really passionate about the things they’re interested in. Kurt would hate that Jughead always wears the hat, though (or at least, he’d outwardly hate it; eventually he’d probably grow to love it, though he’d never admit that out loud).
Cheryl Blossom as Santana Lopez. Both cheerleaders, both can sing, both don’t take anybody’s shit. They’re ruthless and will do what they need to do to get what they want, but they also care deeply and fiercly about the people they love, and would do anything for them. All that without even considering gener and sexuality, and I don’t think we need to get into that because if you’ve seen the shows the resemblance is right there.
Veronica Lodge as Quinn Fabray. They’re both much more palatable than Cheryl/Santana, but can be just as cut-throat when they need to be. They’re also a little more... conniving? I’m not sure if that’s the right word They’re good at putting on a nice face and acting like everything is fine when really they’re secretly plotting. This all sounds negative, and to be fair I’m actually not the biggest fan of either character (is this an unpopulat opinion? I definitely think it is for Quinn, oops), but I think their good traits line up pretty well too. I think at their hearts they’re both good people, but are a little fucked up because their families are Not Great.
Toni Topaz as Mercedes Jones. I know you said relationships don’t matter, and this isn’t a relationship, but Santana and Mercedes are amazing together, so I think it works out nicely that Cheryl and Toni are a couple. Both of these ladies are great people, they’re very smart and talented but they don’t rub it in your face. I think they also are good at sort of grounding people in reality? I’m not sure if this point makes any sense, but what I mean is they’re both no-nonsense type of people.
Betty Cooper as Blaine Anderson. We’re getting to the point where I don’t have as good justifications. But both of these people come off as very nice, sweet, and bubbly at first glance, whereas getting to know them better you realize they have some deeper things going on underneath the surface. Blaine has a lot of insecurity issues that come up in later seasons, and Betty has some struggles that she’s dealing with as well that she does a good job of hiding from most people. Also, we don’t get any of Blaine’s family life, but I headcanon that his dad really sucks, so that’s a nice parallel. And I know you said not to care about relationships (again!) but this does give us Klaine. :)
Kevin Keller as Sam Evans. They’re both fun and generally happy/upbeat guys who are just... very nice and wholesome and don’t seem to really care what other people think. Sam was fine singing a duet with Kurt (although it didn’t happen :( ) and Kevin did the whole Hedwig and the Angry Inch thing at school, so that’s cool.
F.P. Jones as Noah Puckerman. Really grasping at straws now here, people. They’re both pretty rough and tumble, have a criminal history, but they shape up and end up going in similar career directions (sheriff/army). Not afraid to punch someone if that’s what has to be done.
Alice Cooper as Brittany S. Pierce. Still grasping at straws. They both are generally nice and good hearted but also a bit nuts and when they get their mind sent on something they go for it and don’t really care too much about the consequences of their actions.
Reggie Mantle as Artie Abrams. I do not have a good reason for this. I feel like they’re both kinda dicks who have a little bit of a superiority complex but really aren’t that great lmao. I don’t remember enough about Reggies, and I don’t care that much for Artie. They both have good moments though.
Jellybean Jones as Tina Cohen Chang. They’re both quiet and spunky and I dunno, they just give me the same energy? I don’t remember that much about Jellybean to be honest and maybe that’s also a reason, I feel like she’s a great character that deserves more screentime, just like Tina.
Hermione Lodge as Rachel Berry. Both think they’re great people and think they’re hot shit but really they kind of suck and only get the great things they get because of the people around them or because they got lucky.
Principal Honey as Sue Sylvester. Because they both try to ruin everything. No further explanation needed.
Francis DuPont as Will Schuester. He kinda runs a club and he sucks at it? Idk.
Jason Blossom as Matt Rutherford. Because they both were, like, kinda there in the beginning, but never actually got to do anything LOL.

HEADCANON. bianca is a bit of a pessimist but new years just has her do a total 180 and she’s just in a WAY more hopeful mood. like she’ll go out and go clubbing or just get drunk with friends but either way, she’s having a blast and smiling the whole time.
