SAM opens the room door. He pulls off his overshirt; his T-shirt is bloodsoaked. He cuts up through the bloodstain to reveal a bleeding wound. He pours hydrogen peroxide on it and goes into the hole with a pair of something resembling tweezers, with which he pulls out a bullet. He stitches the wound.

SAM cleans a gun, facing a wall of maps and newspaper clippings and security-camera stills featuring the Trickster, arranged in neat lines with none overlapping.

4x09: Sam and Dean are looking for Anna Milton at her home, Sam looks through her drawings and points to one of a stained glass window. Dean realizes, “She was drawing the window of her church...” the scene shows the drawing panning over to a photo of Anna with her parents, in front of the church where the window is visible. 5x01: Sam stands in front of Bobby, looking apologetic and near tears. Bobby tells him, coldly, “If, by some miracle, we pull this off... I want you to lose my number. Dean tells him, “Well, I’m just spit-balling here, but if I were you...” He hesitates before making a face as if this is obvious, “Um, Ruby? Killing Lilith, letting Lucifer out, losing your soul?” Sam starts to nod a little, surprised, and looks away as Dean continues, “Not looking for me when I went to Purgatory.” Sam cuts him off, saying, “Thanks.” and turning away. Then, Sam sits down in a dark confessional, alone. He looks around slightly saying, “Okay, um... If anybody’s listening, here goes.”

11x02: Sam stands with Billie in a dark hallway. She slowly tells him, “I know you’re dying. I can feel it. You’re unclean in the biblical sense.” He clenches his jaw slightly, looking worried. Then, Sam sits in the hospital chapel. He prays, “This is my fault, and I don’t know how to fix it.” He pauses, looking up at a large cross on the wall next to a stained glass window. Then he is shown from the side, and statues of Jesus and the Virgin Mary are blurry in the background. He continues, “And if I have to die, I’ve made my peace with that, but... Please. Dean deserves better.”
