The outfit in this was based off of an Animal Crossing outfit Clown had posted for Wally a little while ago! I messed around with it a Little bit, haha!

I am still working on a style I like also! So expect a lot of changes!

Oooh... I have been thinking of drawing Eddie and Frank together at some point though! I also would really like to make a mini.. storybook type panel.. thingy mabobby.. I'm sure someone understands what I mean!!

the original myth of the lotus eaters comes from the odyssey

‘We stopped to take on water’ - in the odyssey odysseus and his crew stop at the island of the lotus-eaters for water

‘Broken and defeated by the searing skies of war’ - the searing skies could reference the strong winds that forced odysseus to land there or the war from which he was returning

‘And soon the mild-eyed melancholy lotus eaters came’ - the lotus-eaters were supposed to have been a people who lived on an island largely populated by the ‘lotus tree’ (the original greek word can refer to several plants, and the identity of this species is therefore unknown). their diet consisted largely of the lotus fruit, which was said to have narcotic effects, causing those who consumed it to forget their home and loved ones, and want only to stay with the lotus-eaters in a dreamlike state of apathy.

‘Watch the trees/They don’t have to toil to drop their fruit or shed their leaves’ - this probably references the lotus trees

‘time will claim the strongest city walls’ - this could reference the war odysseus is returning from, the trojan war

‘Why cling to hope of homeward bound?’ - the lotus fruit made people forget their homes and families and no longer want to leave

‘The lotus leaves/Will send you on a slumber sweet and sound’ - the lotus fruit had narcotic effects

‘Stop! Wake up!/You’re dead behind the eyes!’ - some of odysseus’ crew are given lotus fruit to eat, causing them to no longer care about returning home and want to stay with the lotus-eaters, and odysseus has to force them back onto the ship.

‘We haven’t reached our home’ - of course the whole point of the odyssey is the ten-year journey undertaken to return home

‘Before the lotus drive it from my mind/I write these words for followers to find/Don’t get entwined/You’ll lose your mind’ - in the original myth, odysseus successfully forces his crew back onto the ship and they go on their way, though in the mechs’ version it appears they are unable to escape, and lose themselves to a drug-induced haze

Daily November crying sessions start today
