Assorted groupchat au headcanons
Yuya is the only one who didn't pick his own screen name. It was a suggestion by the rest of the guys after he couldn't think of one. Eventually, he will change it, and come up with his own nickname.
Jaden can read people's auras/duel monsters energy. Yusaku's is the most calming, being primarily dark and quiet. Yuma's almost hurts him to look at, being complicated and intermingled, like two people standing in the same spot.
Yusei gave Yuma his first driving lessons when he was in Heartland to consult for the Tenjo Corporation.
Yugi has beaten almost all of them in professional duels at some point: him and Yuma met at the second world duel carnival, where he successfully defended his title as king of games. He beat Yuya at a Maiami city exhibition duel, one of Yuya's first duels in the senior division. He won the duel against Jaden we see at the end of GX, and a standing duel against Yusei at Worlds. Him and Yusaku have come to the silent agreement to never duel each other.
Post Jaden finding them in the dark world, Rin and Yugo go to live with Yusei, Yuto and Lulu go to their home dimension, Yuri stays in the world and trains under Jaden, and Celina is adopted by Boyle as a second daughter.
All the yu-bois and the bracelet girls are on a minecraft server together.
Jaden and Yusaku are the only ones in the gc to not hold a regional championship title. However, Playmaker still gets invitations to most digital events as if he were one.
If the standard dimension Jack Atlas and the synchro dimension Jack Atlas ever met, they would try to fight.
Yugi is genuinely friends with Kaiba, who he says "is actually a pretty good guy, deep down."
No one in the gc believes him.

Oliver "Zero" Flynn - my Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds OC Oliver "Zero" Flynn is a 16 year old Turbo Duelist who discovers his role as a Guardian Signer, a steward of the Crimson dragon, tasked with protecting the 5 Signers and ensuring they fulfil their destiny. Zero uses a Gusto Deck and his Ace Monster is Clear Wing Synchro Dragon.
Here's the Summarized LORE:
After being orphaned and spending some time in the notorious Facility, Oliver Flynn uses his father's restored D-wheel to escape Satellite and venture into Neo Domino City. Realizing he's left everything he's ever known behind, Oliver adopts the name "Zero" to symbolize his fresh start with nothing left to lose. After a few years of building a reputation for himself as a talented underground Duelist, Zero draws the attention of Director Rex Goodwin, who invites him to participate in an exhibition match against Neo Domino's King of Speed Duels, Jack Atlas. Paying Zero a considerable sum of money as compensation, Goodwin's only condition is that Jack Atlas can not lose the duel, meaning that Zero must lose on purpose. Not thrilled with the prospect of throwing a duel, Zero reluctantly agrees for the sake of earning some money and establishing a better life for himself within the City. After the exhibition, Zero is given six blank cards by Goodwin and informed of the prophecy of the Signers of the Crimson Dragon. Goodwin theorizes that Zero is destined to become a Guardian Signer, whose role is to guide the signers and protect them when necessary so that they might fulfil their destiny. Zero is later drugged and left outside the apartment of the Twins Leo and Luna, who take in Zero after recognizing him from the exhibition duel. Zero soon learns that Goodwin is planning something, using him as a pawn as both he and Luna receive invitations to a tournament hosted by Goodwin. Zero has no choice but to play along to find out exactly what Goodwin has planned for him and the other signers.
After uniting with Yusei Fudo, Jack Atlas, Akiza Izinski, Crow Hogan, and the twins, Leo and Luna, Zero embarks on a series of adventures with his newfound friends that will lead them to unravel the mysteries of Satellite and the Crimson Dragon, facing down the Dark Signers and a mysterious foe from Zero's past calling himself "Magnus". Zero forms a strong bond with each of the Signers, unleashing the potential of the blank Cards Goodwin had given him as they transform into alternate versions of the Signer's signature Dragons. After the Dark Signers are defeated, Zero will aid Team 5D's in the World Riding Grand Prix to save the world form the sinister agents of Illiaster and their leader, the mysterious Z-One. Thank you for reading! Hope you enjoyed and I will see you in the next one!

Slight spoiler for my upcoming profiles: One of my sets of 5 is going to be Signer-inspired decks, not really copying an anime character's deck but using their strategy to greater effect than the AI does. Ironically, despite him being my favorite character, Jack Atlas's was the one I've struggled with the most, because his theme is hard to pin down beyond "Dragons and also Fiends" and the only Resonator support card in Over the Nexus is Resonator Engine, which I've tried to make work but the Resonators available are just... so bad. I started with a Flamvell Resonator deck, then tried a weird Archfiend Normal Monster deck trying to use Falling Down and Symbols of Duty with Power Tool Dragon, then tried a regular Archfiend deck with Pandemonium, and after deciding that Archfiends were just too bad to be playable, I finally settled on a Fiend Synchro type of deck with the Stygian cards. It FEELS clever and effective but if it weren't for Dark Resonator and Vice Dragon, which I CAN justify playing because they're both good here, it wouldn't feel much like a Jack deck. Maybe I can try to fit Flare Resonator in here somehow?

Sorry to ask a stupid question but did u ever watch any of the other spinoffs after GX? They all get to some degree of apeshit/"I can't believe its not Megaten!" and If love to know ur thoughts! (Sadly. I deleted my twitter account so I can't see ur ygo takes anymore fhfjfj)
NOOOOOOO i have not unfortunately~
i haven't even finished GX! (because at the time i was determined to cover all of it in my thread, but..... i have since quit the website...)
as far as i know things can be viewed outside of being logged in again? did they bring the firewall back? i'm reading the thread now and i might have been a little harsh on it in my post (<-guy who laughs at his own jokes)
i would love to watch them some day just to sate my curiousity, i did start sevens at the behest of friends but since it was still airing at the time and im no good with keeping up with ongoing stuff i kinda just dropped off (though i was enjoying the new vibe)
disorganized thoughts for you to chew on:
jack atlas is a maiden.
deathly curious about vrains. the dumpster fire that it seems to be. despite everything how hard it baited fujos. absolutely fascinating
yuya from arc-v has always had a very cute design to me. but that series scares me. especially with what i've heard about the manga
to be honest, i still dont understand synchro summoning. at all. people have tried explaining it to me and i still don't get it. in contrast, i got pendulums after maybe the second time someone attempted. this isn't really anime related and more game related but you know.
heard a lot of good things about zexal. while typing this i got up to use the bathroom and i forgot my anecdote about it. sorry~
if you wanna know who my favorite character in GX is, it's fubuki. i stopped at around episode 71 i think.

ARC-V Month Day 11: Legacy for the Future (Belated)
@arcvmonth
Y'know... Sandwiched between two fairly negative prompt releases, it's only fair that I get to write about something more positive (Yeah my next one's gonna be the Salt one, and I intend to deliver).
So yeah... How about my thoughts on Jack Atlas... Formatted as a conversation in a fanfic?
This is going to be a midquel of my Day 5 Prompt, Alternato Adventures, of Arias of Florescence. Won't be anything heavy, just a conversation.
Comments and Criticisms are appreciated as always!
Bloom Diva had descended to the Standard Dimension in Yuzu’s place for one day, following a wish her Master made. While ill-considered, the two decided to make the most of this wish, meeting people they wished to during their time spent together, but couldn’t. Yuzu went to meet with her fellow Melodious Monsters, while Bloom Diva had an idea as to who to meet, discussing it with Yuya as they went through the streets of Maiami City.
“Hmm… This one day may be the chance to talk with Jack Atlas in person.”
“Jack? I… Really doubt it.” Yuya responded sincerely, at risk of bumming Bloom Diva out. “Even if we could travel to the Synchro Dimension… How do we find him in a day, with no appointment or something? City alone is so vast, and I don’t know if he’ll even have time for us!”
“I see… Yet, he has lost his position of King, while you have gained it. Perhaps it could make this easier…”
“Man… I don’t really know.” Yuya grew more bummed than the Choir, lost in thought at the mention of: “King… I’m not really sure I’m worthy of this position. I know I’ve beaten Jack, but it was never my intention. I don’t think I’m fit for that, and I’m not even from that Dimension! I just… Don’t think it’s the time now.”
The Fairy resigned calmly: “I understand. My apologies if I have bothered you.”
“No, no… It’s not your fault! I mean… That whole mess would have come up sooner or later anyway!”
Amidst all the apologies, she had an idea as an alternative way to meet Jack. “Yuya… Could you tell me more about Jack Atlas?”
“Uh… More?” The boy turned pensive as well, and was taken aback a bit, so he decided to back off for just a little. “Uh… I know Yuzu and I haven’t really met until Academia invaded while in the Synchro Dimension… Since you’ve been with her, what do you know?”
“The legend of Jack Atlas was told to us thanks to Yugo… Furthermore, we have attended your first Duel with him as spectators.”
“Wait, you did?! I didn’t even see Yuzu…”
“Indeed we did… And we were utterly taken aback by it.” Bloom Diva then explained to a fairly shocked Yuya: “Jack’s conduct is orderly, powerful, and ruthless. He had declared exactly how that Duel would pan out, and it all went as he planned, despite your best efforts. He still wanted to impress the audience by presenting a good showing from both Duelists… Yet he commanded that Duel the whole way through, utterly grounding you, like a king would crush an army that opposed his empire, with Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend as his champion and general.
I had dubbed it… The Symphony of the Sovereign.”
“Symphony of the Sovereign… Yeah, that’s a good title, and… An accurate review.” Yuya then proceeded to explain his side of the story. “That Duel utterly crushed me. Not only because it went exactly as he planned… But because I felt insulted, at the time. You must have heard that he shouted that my Duels were a far cry from entertainment.” The Choir nodded, allowing Yuya to go on. “Those were the teachings of my father, ridiculed in front of hundreds of thousands. But in hindsight, I realized that there was another teaching behind all of this…”
“Oh!” Yuya suddenly realized something in the middle of his thoughts. “I need to tell you this first: I haven’t thanked you or Yuzu for what you’ve done there. If it weren’t for you two, I wouldn’t have been able to go on. You two really gave it your all in your first Duel, and I meant to tell her that her feelings reached me. Well… Your feelings.”
“Think nothing of it, Yuya.” Bloom Diva responded, genuinely warmed. “I merely followed and agreed with Yuzu’s wish.”
“And you did it spectacularly! In hindsight, I bet Jack would have really enjoyed your Duel.”
“I can confirm he did. He spoke out to me personally.”
“Wait, he did?!”
“Certainly. I believe that all came down to our own Duel being sincere to him. Our own voice, as he called it. You had understood that as well… That was the other teaching.”
“Well, yes… But it wasn’t exactly instant. I actually only learned it as I fought him in the finals.”
“I see… We could not watch your Duel, unfortunately… It must have been truly remarkable.”
“It was. We both gave it our all there, but that’s not all of it.” Yuya then explained to a more interested Bloom Diva. “You see, at the time, I thought that all I needed to do was win in order to get my message across; to spread my message through dueling, and finally beat Jack. Of course, I had to do that, but even as I reached Jack in the finals, I wanted to show him that my father’s teachings were not to be mocked… And that’s where I finally realized that it had to be my own Duel, right there. I couldn’t help but feel like he goaded me into doing this, into finally beating him my own way.”
“That is what makes his conduct special.” The Choir deduced. “His tone and presence are truly commanding, befitting of a King, so much so that Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend is truly his closest companion and his grandest general. They Duel as one against all odds, even as… Deary me… Roget attempted to fabricate a Duel so he could take over City by taking control of Sergey first… Jack and Scarlight refused to abide by his corrupt Conduct, and won Sergey over, finally waking him up.
As many rulers have pride, presence and arrogance, so do they have wisdom, strong bonds and experience. And Jack displayed it all in each and every single Duel, befitting of a true King…
And I assume, by all that you told me, that he wanted you to be his successor.”
“Wow… I’m surprised you’ve gotten that, but… Yeah.” Yuya weakly commented as he searched for a Card to show the Choir. After some time, he showed the Card, in the image of a kid girl with pink hair wearing a white coat and black pants, with azure streams all over the outfit, wielding an artifact that vaguely looked like a resonator staff.
“Tuning Magician…?” The Fairy was greatly interested in this. “This looks to be a Tuner Monster. I imagine you must have gotten that in Synchro.”
“Well, it’s more like I was gifted it. In fact, this came from Jack himself.” Yuya then explained to a surprised Choir. “As I was in the penthouse, a certain butler named Sam gave this to me, and Jack had gifted it to him, and told him that it suited the role that he played. As it was an infamously weak Card, Sam took that as an insult not just to him, but to the Commons. So he gifted it to me and told me to beat him as a symbol of revenge. But in reality… I knew that this Card, and any Card, had a role to play, and I communicated this to Jack… Only to realize later that he meant that all along.
Jack’s easy to misread, but I know he has a good heart under that arrogance.
And you know what… If he wants me as his successor… Fine! I’ll do it…
To the best of my ability!” This thoughtful speech, into a rousing cry, ended with a bit of a flustered remark, with Yuya scratching himself on the back of the head, and Bloom Diva giggling.
“There is no need to rush, Yuya… You have done countless good deeds, and many good people now look up to you. Do not tire yourself out and let that smile of yours fade.”
“I won’t.”
And with this, and an eager nod of the two, the conversation ended and the walking on Maiami City continued. While Bloom Diva didn’t manage to meet Jack, she had learned more about him thanks to Yuya. And this only made her more eager to meet him, and perhaps Duel him… More likely from beneath Yuzu.

your deck building seems slightly unhinged and disregards what a competitive deck design would be, 10/10 i have never seen someone genuinely consider putting an Earthbound Immortal in a deck
Well, in the 5D's era, where the Earthbound Immortals were introduced, (which is also the era I'm playing in, my DS game is from early 2011) Earthbound Immortals were generally regarded as shitty boss monsters that die to MST. HOWEVER, one of them actually saw serious considerations, and that was Earthbound Immortal Aslla piscu. Its unique effect is when it's removed from the field, except with its own effect, it destroys all face-up monsters the opponent controls and inflicts 800 damage for each one. You can tribute it for Icarus Attack and likely completely nuke the opponent's board, or you can just keep swinging at their life points content in the knowledge that removing it will be punishing. I heard some people even tried running Mystic Plasma Zone in Blackwings just to use Aslla piscu, though in my experience that would be pretty hard to fit. I have a few decks playing Earthbound Immortals, including one designed around the synergy between Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon and Earthbound Immortal Uru; REDMD provides easy tribute fodder for both the summon of Uru, and its Change of Heart effect. Though admittedly most of my crazy decks don't use them, with some notable ones being Cosmic Synchro Flamvell, Dragon Ravine Hero, and Red Dragon Archfiend/Assault Mode + Yubel. Also, while they're not as wacky as those I'm also happy with my Blue-Eyes spam, Evil Hero, and Red-Eyes fusion decks! This DS game has given me a little time capsule of my childhood format where I can explore all the possibilities I missed out on as a kid, and expose Jack Atlas to my increasingly strange yet genius concoctions

For my Original Characters 8th anniversary and Caelum's birthday this year, ive decided to redesign my main OCs as YGO characters!
When I watched Arc-V for the first time, I of course had to relate it to my OCs (becuae I do that with everything lol) but also because Ayumu's nickname is Literally Yuzu and Luciano's nickname is LuLu and my tiny little brain was like "omg! Jus like my babies!" For reference I created Caelum, Luciano and Ayumu (in that order) when I was 15, Fiore a little later at 17, and I watched Arc-V when I was 18 and I am 23 now.
Basically, these guy's stories would happen during the events of Arc-V. All the characters here are also a little older at 16. As I know very little about the card game itself I haven't given them decks but I may create archetypes when I've watched more than Arc-V and GX.
I will also note that I'll probably draw these guys again because I love them lol
Just a trigger warning as well: there's a bit of graphic violence in these descriptions, so just look at the pretty picture of them if that bothers you :)
Ayumu
An absolute goblin who loves to analyse duel monsters matches but doesn't actually play himself
Basically a hikikomori who spends his days on duel monsters Wikipedias and complains on forums about the current meta
When he learns about pendulum he's absolutely fascinated and avidly watches Yuya's matches in the Maiami cup
When the Battle Royale in Maiami city is announced and that there will be pendulum cards up for the participants he goes nuts
He actually ventures out of his house in months to pinch some pendulum cards from the restricted zones of Maiami
Mainly to say to forum shitposters that hes gonna break the game with his own pedulums
He has a really basic starter deck with him just in case he encounters one of the contestants but he'd eventually get a different deck
Finally sneaks into one of the zones while the Obelisk Force attack is happening and finds a couple of pedulum cards
Before accidentally running into Luciano, another character I'll mention later
After a scuffle between the two, Lucio panics and teleports out of Standard and Ayumu is also accidentally teleported-ending up in Synchro
Caelum
As you can probably tell, he is very much a commons
Has a very Fuck Cops Eat the Rich attitude and is very pro revolution
Also die hard Jack Atlas and Turbo Duel fan lol
Hobbies include: Stealing from the Tops, Invading their spaces, being a generally nuisance to anyone who doesn't live in the Satellite
Also always happy to help in any relief efforts as he can't go past anyone who's struggling
Met Ayumu after a mix up in a Tops only area when Security mistook him for a commons and he just had to rescue him
Immediately became fast friends with him and helped build a better deck
Mainly because they're both Duel Monsters geeks, but Cae has very little knowledge while Ayumu has very little experience
The both of them snuck into the stadium where the friendship cup was taking place and watched from the sidelines
And that's about it for what I'm developed for them lol
Luciano
Just very quickly: in the original cannon for my OCs, Lucio is Italian so his name is pronounced Lew-cho or Lew-cha-noe not Loo-see-oe
And from here on out I'll be calling him by his nickname, Lucio
Lucio is an Duel Academia student (quite obviously) who, before and during the genocide on Xyz was an Osiris/Slifer Red
While he was a good student, good enough to easily be Obelisk Blue, he was very disrespectful and horribly obstinate
Basically forced himself into being a soldier in the war effort no matter what anyone said
Was terribly violent with his duels, and eventually murdered someone
When this was found out, he was extradited back to Academia to stand on trial for basically robbing the Arc V of power
He was put on a probation of sorts and told if he made one more wrong move he'd be kicked from Duel Academia all together which sent him into a spiralling panic
After the trial, he was approached by Joeri who chastised him and smugly told him to get his act together
After restraining himself from attacking Joeri and calming down he was left absolutely despising the younger kid and desperate to upstage him
Through Espionage ™ he found out the very basics of the Revival Zero project and that Leo Akaba was seeking the components of Ray and decided that this was his chance
Also learned of Obelisk Force's plans to storm Standard and decided that that was his chance
Stole an Obelisk Force Uniform, teleported to Standard and went on the hunt for our fav citrus girl
Alecksi
Absolutely loved his life in Heartland City before the genocide
Had a practically identical twin sister, Alessia- also known as Fiorella (little flower in Italian)
Wasn't really big into Duel Monsters, but supported his sister, who wanted to be a pro duelist
When Academia hit them, they weren't expecting it
They survived a while, but never ended up running into the Resistance nor any relief efforts for the displaced people of Heartland, staying mostly on the outskirts of the distressed city
Eventually they were caught by Academia students and chased into the inner part of the city
Eventually cornered by Lucio who challenged Fiorella to a duel
Even though she fought as well as she could, the two of them were both half starved to death and practically on their last legs for spending such a long time out of the city in an active war zone
After defeating her, he went overboard and ended up brutally murdering her and gouging out Alecksi's eye instead of turning them into cards
After Alessia dies in his arms, she gave him her deck and her necklace to remember her by
He takes them and swears revenge
Practically bleeding to death, Alecksi faints and eventually wakes up in a shelter, saved by Sayaka and Allen
He takes a long time to recover (as best he can) from his injury and his malnutrition
While healing, he learns as much as he can about duel monsters from The Resistance
Keep what happened to himself, but sympathizes with Syun
After he's healed to the best he can be, he flees the shelter and goes on the hunt for Lucio
And that's all I've got for now. Ill definitely do a bit more art of Cae in this AU for a belated birthday present, but let me know if you'd like to see/read more of these guys, as they're really close to my heart :)

✨She teaches the new elementary part of Duel Academy.
✨She has the mark of the Dragon Star, the ancient form of the Crimson Dragon. The mark is an eight pointed star which has the shapes in of the Sun, the Moon and Shining Star. Its a key to the Lost Dimension called Domino Reverse.
✨Before she got the mark her arm gots marked in little stars any time she was upset, angry or jealous. Kinda like when you feel a rage inside burning another star appeared as it left a trail of broken ones. They vanish eventually but after months during a duel between her and Ak.iza, the rage went to a point where the Crimson Dragon appeared and formed a blast where a new synchro monster was born.
✨The dragon connected with the mark is Solar Blaze Dragon. A level 7 synchro light type monster with 2700 atk and 2200 def points.

Raika - my Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc V OC - Synchro Raika is a duelist from the Synchro Dimension who loves dueling and dreams of one day having a duel against Jack Atlas so she can become the Duel Queen. Raika is friends with Yuugo and Rin and often helped them building their D-Wheel. She is a decent mechanic and services her own D-Wheel as well. Raika has a hot temper but she is extremely outgoing and friendly. She can be quite excitable and sometimes get's carried away when she is passionate about something, such as dueling or working on her D-Wheel. Raika uses a deck full of Yang Zing cards and, upon meeting Yuya and the Lancers, even learns to Pendulum Summon.
