Bag of Holding this, Deck of Many Things that.
Where is the appreciation for Bag of Beans?
rare, wondrous item, from DM's guide, with such amazing effects as:
an awfully rude statue of yourself
Devil's eggs
or, you know, 50/50 chance of a chaotic evil treant. or just a treant.
justice for bag of beans

So much serotonin that no one can take away from meeeeeeeeeee I will take them on all the adventures and Kazuma won't die and they will be gay and happy together >:)
For my other international peeps who want the babies, I bought them off Cho Kawaii Japan! Kazuma's around USD$25 and Ryuunosuke's around USD$30 (don't ask me why, idk either), and they're $15 DHL shipping b u t it's worth it bc they got here in 3 days. They also have all the other ones (sans Phoenix and Miles for some odd reason)

oh god until i saw that last ask/answer i just assumed it was supposed to be obvious that that scene at the beginning was them.. and now im realizing how many of my fandoms have ridiculous arcs where you see past/future versions of a character and ive just been well trained to recognize it ...
LMAO If it helps, I didn't draw it meaning it to be subtle *or* obvious. It was kind of a "well, the scene works either way!" thing for me. I figured it would be subtle enough to some if they were reading through the first time without any extra knowledge, but just as possibly obvious to others if they followed my art and saw illustrations of the two in their present day designs.
But with that scene, If I try to look at it with eyes that don't already know these characters inside and out, Audric not having his manifestation yet, and being quite a bit younger and in casual clothes, probably does just enough to make him look different. Eli's scar is a little hard to see in the opening scene as well, due to the rain/his hair, but even then, all I can see with his 12-year-old design is "Yep, there's my boy."
That one panel of Audric though, the one where he's looking down under the umbrella, that's one of the panels of the comic that gave me the MOST trouble. It's SUCH a difficult age to nail when working backwards from a design, and needing that subtle expression on top of that? I'm happy that the opening scene was a surprise to someone, but i'm also glad they looked like themselves to you, because *that* panel was so difficult to capture the age change *and* staying within his design!
