Oblitus Part 32
Nothing Left To Lose
34 Days Left Until Extermination...
Husk growled and flew towards Gabriel, claws aimed to strike. Gabriel quickly dodged Husk's attack and flew higher into the air, hovering above everyone. Gabriel shifted his gaze over to Anna and darted towards her. Alastor called upon several shadows and ordered them to slow the angel down. The shadows did as they were told and chased after Gabriel. They bound the angel as they wrapped around him, stalling the angel for a bit.
Alastor phased and shifted over to Anna, kneeling beside her. Anna still refused to look at him, scooting away as Alastor came closer to her. Alastor's smile began to twitch, now growing more irritated by Anna's actions.
"Stop ignoring me," "At least let me heal your wound."
Anna frowned and turned her head back, glaring at Alastor.
"Why do you care?" she spatted out. "You said and done more than enough to me. Leave me alone."
"I don't want to do this, but you've forced my hand," Alastor sighed. Anna's eyes widened as Alastor snapped his fingers, ordering his shadow to hold her down. Anna struggled to get Alastor's shadow off of her, but it only gripped tighter. Alastor focused his attention to the glass shard embedded deep in Anna's leg. He quickly pulled it out and placed his hand over the wound just as the blood began to spill out. Alastor chanted a spell and the cut slowly began to close up, healing itself. As it was fully closed up, Alastor's shadow released Anna.
"This doesn't change anything." she replied.
"Woman, you are driving me crazy! What more do you want from me?" Alastor shouted. "I'm sorry, okay! I'm sorry that I said those things to you." Anna looked down, still refusing to look at him.
"Why should I believe anything that you say?" she sighed. "You already told me what you really felt about me."
"Because you mean more to me than you ever realize." Anna gasped as her eyes widen as she turned to Alastor.
Angel was watching the whole scene unfold between Alastor and Anna. He stared at them for a moment before something clicked and he let out a loud dramatic gasp.
"Oh my god! You actually fucked with the radio demon?!" he shouted so loudly that everyone in the area could hear him. Anna and Alastor cringed now that their secret was out.
"You did what?!" Vaggie and Charlie shouted in disbelief and shock.
"No way!" Niffty and Baxter shouted.
"Angel..." Alastor warned the spider demon with a strained smile. "I'm not exactly sure if everybody in Hell heard you, and I hope they didn't. But, I strongly advise you to shut your mouth, now."
"Now, I have to know before I die! Anna, did Alastor have a tail? How was he in bed?" Angel asked. "I'm still in shock that you've actually managed to get Smiles to do it! I've been trying for ages!"
"I'm not telling you that!" Anna shouted, blushing. She wanted to die now, Alastor did as well.
Suddenly, their was a loud shriek and everyone looked up to see that every single one of Alastor's shadows have been destroyed. Gabriel glared down at everyone.
"I've had enough of your ignoramus games!" he shouted, angrily. "I'm ending this once and for all!"
Husk screeched as he flew behind Gabriel, ready to strike. He slashed his claws, only to miss Gabriel by an inch. Then Gabriel appeared behind the cat demon. Husk fell down, unconscious, as Gabriel managed to slice one of his wings off.
"Husk!" Alastor and Anna shouted.
"Husky!" Angel called out.
Before anyone could do anything, Gabriel reappeared right in front of Alastor and slashed. Alastor blocked with his staff only to be kicked, and slashed on his side, as he fell to the ground.
"Alastor!" Anna called out. She froze as she saw Gabriel turn his attention towards her. Just as he was about to attack, Niffty had smacked him right across the face with her shoe as she tossed it.
Slowly, Gabriel turned to Baxter and Niffty, growling.
"She didn't mean it!" Baxter shouted.
"Yes, I did!" Niffty shouted.
Then Gabriel lunged at Baxter and Niffty, attacking them. The two screamed as the angel came closer, with sword raised to strike them down. Vaggie jumped in front of them and blocked Gabriel's sword with her spear. She tried to push Gabriel back, but he was stronger. Gabriel knocked Vaggie back, sending her crashing to the ground. Gabriel raised his sword to strike Vaggie, but, a fireball shot out, stopping him.
"Enough!" Charlie shouted. "This doesn't have to end like this. Can't we come to an agreement or a deal or something? Please, we don't have to fight!"
"I don't want to hear any words from spawn of a traitor!" Gabriel shouted. He darted towards Charlie, ready to bring his sword down on her.
"Charlie!" Vaggie and Anna cried out.
Just as Gabriel brought his sword down. A loud clang was heard as Gabriel's sword was blocked by another.
"You..." Gabriel growled. Charlie stared with wide eyes at who had saved her.
"Dad," she whispered.
"Ah, Gabriel, lovely to see you again," Lucifer smiled. "How's the fam? How's Michael doing?"
"Better off without you," Gabriel spatted. However, Gabriel was interrupted when Lucifer head-butted him, knocking him back, as he fell to the ground on his butt.
"Y-You wretched bas-"
"Uh, uh, don't temp the lord's name in vain. As dad would like to say," Lucifer scolded, wagging his finger at Gabriel, chuckling.
"You don't deserve to speak of him!" Gabriel shouted.
"Dad, why are you here?" Charlie asked.
"I was just strolling around in the streets," Lucifer explained. "Then I heard the sirens, followed by loud screams and explosions and here I am! Which brings me to why I am here." He turned to Gabriel. "Like my daughter had said earlier, can't we come to a deal? I don't want to bring any more bloodshed as there already is, especially a war between Heaven and Hell."
"What are you saying?" Gabriel asked, narrowing his eyes at Lucifer. Lucifer laughed.
"Well, it wouldn't look good for you, Gabriel, for starters," he told him. Gabriel froze. "If dad found out that you broke our agreement: He doesn't bother me and I don't bother him, vice versa, etc. and yadda yadda yadda. So, if he finds out that you came down here, before extermination day has even began and attacked my only daughter. It would be chaos." Gabriel's eyes widen before he glared at Lucifer.
"What are you suggesting?" Lucifer made a twisted smile.
"I'm glad that you're listening to me for once," he said. "Now, my daughter had mentioned that she was starting a silly redemption idea to save sinners." Charlie frowned at her dad as he continued. "As you can see, one was actually able to redeem themselves. If she is able to save another then more are surely to follow. This is where you come in. I want you to tell everyone up there about my Charlotte's hotel and allow access to the saved souls."
"That's preposterous!"
"Then let's call dad and see what he has to say about this," Lucifer smirked as he saw Gabriel began to sweat nervously. "I'm sure he would love to find out that you ignored him. I wonder what he would do? Cast you out like he did to me?"
"Don't turn this around on me! YOU led a rebellion against father!" Gabriel argued. Lucifer ignored him and continued.
"Strip of you of your status and wings? Maybe, even exile you on some begotten place?" he giggled "Ooh, I'd pay money to see that happen!"
"You sick demented freak!" Gabriel snarled. He sighed, defeated. "Fine, I will tell everyone about your daughter's hotel." He muttered out like it was acid in his mouth.
"Good boy. Now, get out of my home," Lucifer said. "Before I make you."
Just as Gabriel was about to take off, he glanced over at Anna glaring at her then left.
"I can't believe you actually managed to get him to listen to you," Charlie said.
"Like, I told you Charlotte, don't take shit from no one." Lucifer told her "Now, I must go and check on my lily and tell her that you're alright." Then he paused and looked at Alastor.
"Oh, and Alastor it's been lovely talking with you earlier," he smirked. "I do hope that you and your little lady have a wonderful time together while it last." He chuckled evilly and left.
"What a strange guy?" Anna replied.
"You tell me," Alastor agreed. He narrowed his eyes at the king as he left.
"Gabriel, it's about time that you've showed up," Michael called out as he saw Gabriel land. "Did you find what you were looking for?"
" I did and you're not going to believe it. But, there is a human woman who is still alive down there," Gabriel told him.
"Then we must get her out of there!" Michael said, alarmed. "The longer she stays down there, she will never be able to come here if she dies. She'll be a demon permanently."
"And that is not all, I've met with our former brother, Lucifer," Gabriel spatted out. Michael froze, stunned.
"Y-You-You saw him! What did he say?! What happened, Gabriel?"
"He is building an army to over throw father once again." Gabriel lied. "There is a hotel down there who is housing them."
"Then, we must warn father at once!" Michael said, startled by the news. "He has to know!" He was about to leave but Gabriel grabbed his wrist, stopping him.
"No!" Gabriel hissed. "Father, already has enough on his plate, as it is. We must do this ourselves."
"What do we need to do?" Michael asked, unsure. This is going against everything that their father had told them to do. He really should tell him, but what if Gabriel was telling the truth?
"For now, I need you to keep quiet about this. We don't want to cause a panic." Gabriel told him. "Once the time is right, we will secretly strike and take down Lucifer with our army and put an end to all of this once and for all and everyone and everything will be at peace once again."
Michael looked down. He is going to have to face his brother again? This time to kill him? He couldn't do it the first time...There was no way he could kill his twin.
"There has to be another way. Please, tell that there is...I can't kill Luci-"
"I need you with me, Michael. Are you in or not?" Gabriel asked, growing more impatient. "What is it going to be?"
"I won't do this." Michael finally answered, looking at Gabriel, as he shook his head. Gabriel sighed and stepped up, pulling Michael closer to him, to hug him.
"I shouldn't have asked you to do this. This is too much for you," he told him. "For that,...I'm sorry for this."
"Gabriel, what are you-" Michael grunted in pain as Gabriel plunged his sword straight through his chest, ripping one of his wings as it did, making it difficult to fly.
Michael's vision began to grow heavy and blurry, seeing Gabriel growing smaller and smaller as he was tossed, falling over the edge. Michael was now plummeting heading further down into the city below him until his vision went dark.
He crashed.
The last thing that Michael could remember, before he succumbed to darkness, was hearing a woman screaming.

Fic: The Night We Met 2/?
The man has warm, kind eyes.
And a handsome face.
But mostly, it’s the eyes for Buck, their concern to a man they don’t know, even though Buck can tell the exact moment the man recognizes him, and the concern turns to genuine apprehension, and finally a muttered “Holy hell.”
It’s such a strange beginning.
Of course it’s going to end badly.
Prompt request by the lovely @buddiextarlos.
Chapter One Here
SOME NOTES:
AO3 Link Here
The prompt was: Buck as a Prince/Eddie as a Knight or Eddie as an outlaw/trying to rescue Buck, and I’ve sort of…run away with it.  I have absolutely no clue where this story is leading, so we'll just go on this little adventure together, hmm (cue my Bob Ross voice).
Two
Buck is not a prince who needs saving, no matter how the situation looks.
He would have figured out how to escape the Hunters, just like he figured out how to live after his parents kicked him out or how he figured out how to survive with two small children in town in the middle of a tsunami, or how he figured out how to get his sister away from her abusive fiancé, or even how he figured out how to be the heir to Angeles after the king adopted him. If there was one thing Evan Buckley Nash was good at, it was figuring things out, surviving bad situations and adapting quickly.
That becomes just a bit harder when the man slammed his weapon down on Buck's leg, but he would have figured it out.
Eventually.
Eddie just happens to arrive before he gets to that point. And Buck’s grateful for the assistance because honestly he can’t focus on much more besides the pain in his leg, and how it’s throbbing, and he gets lost in that anguish and doesn’t really pay attention to the single, solitary man who kills his captors until the man is kneeling in front of him.
He has warm, kind eyes.
It’s chaos around them when they get to Eddie’s small camp, and really all Buck sees through the jostling and pain is a small kid and Chimney; he’s struggling to make his voice heard before he’s falling, Eddie crumpling like a sack and taking Buck with him.
He hits the ground hard, hits his leg hard, and the world whites out; he’s not sure if he’s screaming or crying or shouting because it’s nothing in the prison of his own mind, where the only thing he can hear and feel and even taste is the pulsing, excruciating pain shooting from his leg. His hands are clutching something-his hair? the ground? he doesn’t know-tightly, aching as time passes, as the white slowly recedes and the pulsing settles into a throb and he can make out Chim, watching him worriedly, and the sobs of a child somewhere beside him.
“Your majesty,” Chim breathes out in relief, catching Buck’s flailing hand (they were in his hair; he lets go as soon as he realizes) and squeezing tight. “Buck, it’s okay, sir-”
If he could roll his eyes, he would. “You’ve never...never called me sir seriously,” he whispers, and Chim’s laugh, though it makes his head ring, is a sound he holds on to, tries to concentrate on as the rest of him comes back. “Chim, the man I was with?”
“He’s...he’s here, your highness. We were worried he was holding you against your will-”
“My father wouldn’t kidnap anyone, you dolt!” a small, high voice snaps from Buck’s side, and he ignores Chim’s wince in favor of turning his head just enough to look at the kid, sitting by Eddie’s unconscious body, tiny, shaking  hand on the man’s cheek. He’s got a mop of tangled, dirty curls and Buck can see some sort of...braces? maybe? on his legs, over his pants. Unlike Eddie, who seemed a bit starved, cheek bones hollow and overall haggard, the child seems well fed and taken care of, except for his red eyes, puffy from crying. “He’s not a bad man. He saves people,” the little boy whimpers, hand patting Eddie’s cheek. “Please wake up, Papa. Please.”
And oh, that breaks Buck’s heart. “He’s not lying, Chim; Eddie didn’t capture me or anything of the like. He’s a refugee from Elpaso; he and his son were on their way to Angeles, and he was out looking for  food. He saved me.”
“Your Highness, you’ve had a time tonight-”
“Yes, I have, but it wasn’t Eddie who caused it; he saved me. It was Kendall’s Hunters, Chim; he sent them after Maddie, and I found them before they found her. There were four of them; they’re dead now. Head up the road, towards the mountains, and you’ll find them not too far from here.” And it must be so hard for Chimney, to have to give his unyielding loyalty to Buck when he’s so apparently worried about his wife and the child she’s carrying. “Was anyone hurt? When I was-?”
“Two of your guards are dead-Baxter and Scott. Lena was bleeding pretty badly, which is why Hen isn’t here. I sent our fastest rider back for the carriage; you aren’t walking on this leg,” Chim bites out when Buck opens his mouth. “Maddie will kill me if you do any more damage to it. As of now it already looks like someone took a meat grinder to it, though whoever bandaged it did a pretty decent job, considering.”
“It was Eddie, Chim. He was going to get me back to the city. You’ve got to make sure he’s all right.” Buck’s voice is soft, pleading.
Chim looks to Eddie, as if he’s trying to make a decision, and then sighs. “I wish Hen was here; she could look him over. Hey, kid!” When the little boy looks up, he’s glaring, and Buck can’t help his laugh. “Why don’t we switch places? I’ll make sure your father is fine if you come over here and hold the prince’s hand for me?”
“You hurt him when he was only trying to help,” the boy whispers. “How can I trust that  you won’t hurt him again?”
“My job, my duty, is to protect this man.” Chim’s hand presses against Buck’s shoulder. ”He’s Angeles’ crown prince, and his safety is always going to be my number one priority. And I made a mistake, when I saw your father with him; I made an assumption without gathering my facts, but now I’d like to start remedying that situation. And I can’t do that if I don’t have someone to look after the prince.”
The kid bites his lip, looks down at his father, and nods his head once. He rises to his feet, unsteady as he takes cautious, stumbling steps towards them, the braces on his legs creaking as he comes closer. He flinches as he plops down by Buck, the sound of his small body hitting the ground enough to make Buck wince. “Easy, there, kid,” he murmurs, reaching out to pat the boy’s knee.
“Name’s Christopher,” the boy says softly, eyes on Buck’s hand, taking it when Buck’s turns it palm up. “He’s not going to hurt my father, is he?”
“Oh, Christopher, no. Chim’s going to make sure he’s all right, just like he said. You have my word as the crown prince.” He grins when the boy nods in agreement.
“He saved me, like he saved you.  Everyone else died, but he saved me.”
Buck knows vaguely of the civil war happening in Elpaso; the wastelands and a sea separate the two kingdoms, so word from Elpaso comes only sporadically, mostly from refugees or sailors. He knows it’s bad there, but the haunting in Christopher’s voice makes him wonder how bad.
Bad enough for a father to attempt crossing the wastes with a disabled child instead of staying.
He’ll have to ask Bobby more about it when he gets back to the city, but for now, he squeezes Christopher’s hand. “I promise you, we’ll make sure nothing happens to him. You will be safe in Angeles.”
It’s a promise he intends to keep.

LVII. Again ( Part 2 )
***
The sun had set a long time ago and (F/N) still haven't found Kenny. Apparently, he never reported to MP Headquarters and nobody knew where he was. He wasn't even in the city bar. Practically everywhere she went, she wasn't able to locate him.
(F/N) wandered aimlessly at the streets, wanting so much to see Kenny.
"Am I too late?" she asked herself, until she heard some muffled voices in a dark alleyway.
"Alana, dear, you came." a voice that sounded like Kenny uttered.
"Why would I ignore an invitation from a man such as you, Captain Ackerman?"
"Captain Ackerman, it's Kenny!" (F/N) gleefully said, then went towards that alley. However, the scene she saw almost shocked her to death. Alana, who she recognized was Lord Reiss' mistress, was slowly taking off her clothes.
(F/N) hid behind some barrels and witnessed in horror as Alana showed Kenny her naked ample breasts. To this Kenny just smiled.
"Beautiful." he said. "Oh, I did mention that I don't go to brothels, right? Or was it someone else?"
Those words. He said those words to her in the bar last time they met.
Alana just shrugged and went closer to Kenny. "I don't know. Maybe some cheap whore you met outside the bar, hmm?" her arms snaked around Kenny's neck, pressing her breasts against his chest.
"I wonder." the man just muttered. (F/N) was about to look away when she heard Alana gasp. She looked at the two once more and noticed the beautiful courtesan drawing away from Kenny. She looked at the man and saw that he was holding a bloody knife. Her eyes widened even more when she noticed a long slash across her right arm.
"What is the meaning of this?! If you want to be dominant, then I'll let you! Why did you have to wound my beautiful skin like this?!" Alana seethed with anger.
"Oh, I don't know. Maybe because you're the cheap whore you're talking about?" Kenny said and grinned while closing the gap between him and Reiss' mistress.
"No, no, no, this must be a joke. You're not trying to kill me, are you? Lord Reiss will kill you for this, you unloyal motherfucker!"
"I was never loyal to him. I just follow his orders."
"Orders? He would never order anyone to kill me!"
"He wouldn't. Unfortunately, you admitted to him that you are with child. His child, yes?"
The blood from Alana's face drained, making her as pale as death. She frantically started denying her words.
"No! No! I'm not! T-that's not true! I'm not pregnant! I never let him - !"
"Oh? Shall we test that out?" Kenny announced playfully as he pointed his knife towards her abdomen. Alana instinctively protected her womb, and this made Kenny even more amused.
"Lying after all, are we?" he said, his smile as sadistic as ever.
"No! Please, don't hurt me. You won't hurt an expecting woman, would you? Have compassion!"
"Oh, I' am compassionate." Kenny said and with a swift movement, he placed his left palm over her mouth and pointed his knife at her throat. "Actually, I'm doing you a favor by making your death as painless as possible."
Alana tried screaming through Kenny's huge hand, but all the sound that she made were just muffled.
"Ah, ah, ah! Don't blame me for this. Blame yourself from being too close to Rod. But, you just had to put a toe out of the line. You really can't live without rich men, can you?"
(F/N) really wanted to help her, but she remained rooted to the ground like a frightened child. She had no idea that Kenny would do something like this.
"Hmm! Hmm!" Alana went on screaming and crying and squirming, but Kenny was too strong for her. With one swift movement of Kenny's right arm, Alana was finally put to silence. Kenny let go of her body and it fell to the ground in a pool of blood. The man sighed, looked up at the sky and swished his knife, splattering bits of blood on the wall of the isolated alleyway.
(F/N) couldn't stop the tears from falling down her face. Her hands instantly covered her mouth to prevent herself from screaming, but she was too late.
"Princess, I know you're there!" Kenny announced with a theatrical flourish. "Come out, come out, wherever you are!"
(F/N) slowly emerged from her hiding place, still covering her mouth. She couldn't stop her legs from shaking, but she still faced the man she thought was the person who would never lie to her.
"Aww, why the shocked expression? I thought that I'm going to be a godfather!"
"Captain, why?" her voice came out like an anguished whimper.
"Not like that, Princess." Kenny went closer to (F/N), who started soing what Alana did earlier the moment she found his true intentions. "You shouldn't be here. Wait, what are you doing here, anyway? Wait, wait! Let me guess,... you're here to tell me something, aren't you?"
(F/N)'s eyes widened in utter fear. How did he know? Unless,...
No! Delilah and the children!
Her arms dropped to her side. Kenny laughed really hard and started doing a jig.
"I'm correct! Wahoo!" Kenny declared, swishing his knife about and splattering blood in all directions. "Now, I'll let you speak. Come on, tell me your business here. I don't want to ruin your moment."
"I came to tell you,..." tears came falling down her face. For right in front of her stood the biggest deceiver of all. "... that someone is going,... to kill you,..."
"Kill me? Did I hear that right? Hey, Traute, you hear that? Someone's going to kill me!"
(F/N) turned just in time to see a tall blonde woman emerging from the shadows and launching herself towards her. She had no chance to escape as the woman called Traute took out a cloth from her pocket and covered (F/N)'s face with it.
With strong chemicals overtaking her body, the last thing she saw,...
... was the forlorn expression on Kenny's face,...
***
Levi was in the living room that night, still moping, when he suddenly heard successive frantic knocks on his door. He didn't bother with his disguise and immediately stood to open the door, hoping it was (F/N). Heck, he was determined to still accept her even though she might be really mad at him right now.
He didn't expect to see Dawk's eldest daughter on the doorway together with Erwin Smith. The brat didn't even look surprised to see him without his disguise.
"You must help us, Captain." Rosemarie said. She even looked like she just escaped some wild dogs or something dangerous like that.
"What happened?" Levi's hair suddenly stood on end. He knew that something really bad has happened.
"It's (F/N)." Erwin provided the answer.
"What happened to (F/N)?!"
"He will kill her!" Rosemarie screamed in panic. "Kenny Ackerman will kill her!"
***
"I say Jacqueline, this is hopeless!" Elvis begged his fiancee to stop banging on the door of the Scouting Legion Headquarters in Trost that very same night. She was angrily waving about a piece of newspaper.
"No! They're the real thieves here." Jacqueline screamed at the face of her useless fiance, Elvis. "You must be helping me here, not whine!"
"But, dear! That's just a newspaper you're holding right there! How could you know that someone stole our identity through that?!"
"Because it says so on the headline! Elvis Shunerman and Jacqueline Baxter, this year's honorary nobles from Wall Rose, graced the Reiss Hall for the launching of the Winter Season. They were to take their place as the King's chosen elite nobles! That aint us! Those are the ones who stole the migration documents from you because of your stupidity! And they're taking everything we should be enjoying right now! Those people are Hange and Levi! The one you told me about!"
"I say! There's a method to this! Not banging on someone's door like a madman!"
The door suddenly opened and they were swiftly taken inside by some invisible hands and dragged them behind the nearest wall as if to hide them. Jacqueline was about to go on a tirade once more when a young, blonde male and taller teenager with a long face and two tones of hair color gestured for them to keep quiet.
"What are you - ?" Jacqueline was about to go at it again when Elvis gestured for her to look at her surroundings. The woman looked and she finally saw,...
... the number of bloody, lifeless bodies lying on the ground next to them.
"What in the holy Wall,..."

Promises (One Shot)
~ ANGST ~
(Link to Fanfiction and AO3)
Danny was bored out of his mind. Sitting in Lancer's class and listening to lectures on Shakespeare didn't really scream "attention" to him. He looked out the window, how he longed to be outside! The trees swayed in the wind and the sun shone so bright, it was the perfect day. Hanging out with his friends at the nasty burger seemed so distant, even if it was last period of the day. Class had just begun, and he would have to wait another 60 minutes to get out of this hell-hole.
Sam and Tuck were sitting right next to him on either side. They seemed to be paying attention. Danny tried to focus on the words coming out of Lancer's mouth, but he just couldn't. The world outside was just too distracting. He was watching the birds, as they flew past the trees and out of view. He thought about how he could fly with -
"Mr. Fenton!" Danny jumped at the use of his last name, he only knew one person who referred to him that way.
"I hope you were paying attention because I have a question for you." Danny gulped, "Whom does Lady Macbeth frame for her murder?" Mr. Lancer asked as Danny looked to his friends for help. They were trying to hold back their snickers through their palms covering their grins. Danny shook his head at his friends and contemplated. He had read the first 2 pages of the play and slowly dozed off last night after a long day of protecting Amity Park.
"The king?" Danny questioned, he didn't even know if there was a king to begin with.
"Incorrect. It was Duncan's drunken chamberlains. I would like to talk to you after class." Lancer had a look of irritation on his face. It wasn't Danny's fault the ghosts kept coming back.
Danny sighed, another detention. He really was hoping to go outside and enjoy the perfect weather, but his plans seemed busted. Sam and Tucker only gave him looks of regret, as they should have helped him out.
His head started to feel weird as a migraine began to form. I guess this is payback for not reading the assignment he thought. Danny got headaches often, usually when he overexerted his powers, but today had been a relaxed day. The growing pain in his head made it harder to concentrate than it already was. He tried to look out the window for comfort, but the pain kept growing and growing.
Five minutes later, his head was throbbing with pain. Danny felt like grasping his head and curling into a ball. His migraines never got this bad.
Sam noticed Danny grimace and mouthed What's wrong? towards him and he mouthed back Headache. Baby Sam replied, she knew Danny had a high pain tolerance after 4 years of ghost fighting. She smiled back at him and turned back towards Lancer. His now girlfriend seemed to not care. Maybe he should listen and try to raise his grade for once in his life. But it was senior year, and Danny was not looking forward to going to college.
His ongoing headache had not yet passed after 10 minutes. He really did try to form what Lancer was saying into actual words, but it all sounded like noise. His field of view started to blur, and spots danced around his vision. He wanted to run, he wanted to hide. Something's wrong.
"May I go to the bathroom Mr. Lancer?" Danny said in a cracked voice as he raised his hand.
"Can you wait a few minutes Mr. Fenton? I'm in the middle of a PowerPoint and this is urgent information you need to know for your exam tomorrow. I would like it if you took notes as well."
"Fine," Danny replied. He sank down in his seat and Tucker looked at him curiously. Ghost? mouthed Tuck. At least that’s what Danny though he mouthed. Huh? Danny couldn't even see Tuck's mouth move, it was all obscure. He only recognized his best friend because of his red beret.
Danny closed his eyes and put his head on the desk. His head hurt, he couldn't see, and he could barely hear. He placed his hands on his head, gripping his hair. This isn't good. A nauseous feeling started to rise from his stomach and his eyes began to burn. Hot, hot, too hot. Danny couldn't think, he couldn't act. His limbs felt loose, and he felt himself slipping out of consciousness. He tried to pull himself together, I'm stronger than this. But his body wouldn't cooperate.
The last thing he knew was his eyes opened wide and burned.

Mr. Lancer watched as Daniel placed his head on the desk, poor boy he thought. He probably didn't get enough sleep last night. Then again, for the past four years it seemed like Daniel hadn't gotten any sleep at night. He was used to Danny's antics, constant bathroom breaks, missing periods of class, and sometimes skipping the entire class altogether. Daniel had even grown since freshman year, almost as tall as Mr. Baxter, but the other physical characteristics persisted. Same black, jagged hair, bags under the eyes, the careless and lopsided grin. He really was the same person, but a mystery nonetheless.
Mr. Lancer went through the PowerPoint with ease, only one interruption from Daniel to use the bathroom, expected. It seemed as though his class had not one thought to listen, except few students. Ms. Manson and Mr. Foley were giving him adequate attention. Let's see how they do on the exam tomorrow, then they'll listen.
He dismissed the students after 20 minutes of lecturing, tasking them with an assignment. Daniel had not lifted his head since placing it on the desk.
"Ms. Manson, can you please wake Mr. Fenton?" he asked. Samantha nodded in return and turned towards Daniel, shaking him violently. The students had all turned towards her, apparently anything was better than doing their assignment, such as waking up a student. Few kids started to chuckle at Daniel's constant sleeping in class.
"Wake up Danny! You're in school, not your bed!" despite the shaking, Daniel had not awakened. Samantha used little force to lift his head and only then did everyone notice a small pool of green coating Daniel's desk. Lancer looked at the horrifying image before him as his heat skipped a beat and almost stopped.
Daniel had a green gooey substance coating his entire eye and leaking slowly. His jaw slacked open and the empty expression pasted on his face seemed to look Lancer directly into his soul. A shiver ran up his spine as Samantha started to shake rigorously again.
"Danny! Danny this isn't funny! Stop your pranks right now! Goddamnit it!" she yelled as she turned towards Lancer, stunned and terrified
"Ste-Step away from Mr. Fenton!" Lancer's mind wracked for a solution, he didn't know what to do. The slacken expression on the head hung teen as his eyes, his pupil-less eyes shone bright green. Despite the constant issue of ghosts, this was something he had not seen before. Samantha stayed in place, trying to wake Danny from his trance along with Tucker's help.
"Freak!" Dashiel yelled, "Get away from me!" He jumped from his seat and ran to the front of the room. A couple of students near the situation followed Dashiel to the front of the room.
Lancer ran up to the trio and grabbed Daniel by the shoulders. Samantha and Tucker looked at each other in disbelief and horror. Lancer, Samantha, and Tucker simultaneously picked the teen up and maneuvered him towards the back of the class. He's abnormally light, does he even eat? They reached the back of the class and looked for an open spot to place Daniel down. The other students watched in disgust as their teacher and two classmates carried their unconsciousness classmate.
"Kwan! Go retrieve the nurse! Tell her to – "
"DON'T TOUCH ME!" Daniel screamed. The three carrying him dropped the teen and he fell to the ground feet first in a crouched position, his head facing down.
"Danny – " Samantha said in a quiet voice and placed her palm on his back in comfort.
"I said DON'T. TOUCH. ME." Samantha jumped back in response as though she had touched a hot flame. Daniel lifted his head as his eyes still leaked, ectoplasm was it? It’s sickly sour, lemony smell diffused throughout the room. His red sweatshirt was stained with the substance. His skin was a sickly pale
Daniel stood up, and quickly looked directly at Lancer. He tilted his head slightly and a sly grin spread across his face. A terrifying crack sounded when he moved his head and students cringed. Then as quickly as the grin came, it flipped into a frown. He grabbed his hair and let out a painfilled scream and everyone immediately covered their ears. Lancer unknowingly stepped few paces back, and then realized he should go to the corner with the other students till the nurse came. Should I call 911? Lancer quickly maneuvered through the maze that was the desks and stood protectively in front of his students, covering his ears all the while.
The screaming continued for what felt like an eternity, the sound permanently latched into everyone's minds. When Daniel stopped his knees buckled and he fell, I took in a breath realizing that I had stopped breathing. His palms caught him from falling face first. He caught his breath and cradled into a ball on the floor.
"pAiN, sUfFeRiNg, PAIN AND SUFFERING!" Daniel whispered repeatedly as he rocked back and forth in a fetal position on the floor. Everyone was too stunned to make a move, but Lancer realized Kwan was not there. He must have gone to get the nurse, like I told him to. I could see the confliction passing across Samantha's face, she wasn't sure if she should comfort Daniel or run for cover. Tucker was looking around the room wildly, I wonder for what.
"Mr. Fenton, please. Tell us what's wrong" Lancer pleaded. He didn't know what else he could do. This situation was nothing like anything he had ever experienced. "Ms. Manson, Mr. Foley, has this happened before?" He could hear the whispers from his students.
I always knew he was a freak.
What's happening to him? We should back up. What if he does something destructive?
My special ghost boy will come to save the day! He will rid of this possessed child.
He's a loser, a low life, I just want to leave class.
Its his freaky parents, they probably did something to him.
Just as Samantha was about to reply, Daniel jumped up from the floor in inhumane speed right. He quickly turned around and his neck cracked again as he tilted it at an impossible angle.
"YOU," Daniel lifted his finger forcefully and pointed it at Dash "I've aLwAyS wanted to cRuSh your body in a lOcKeR… Revenge… so cLoSe… I can fEeL it..." His voice had an echo and eerie darkness to it, this sounded nothing like the Daniel he knew. Then again, he knew next to nothing about Daniel.
Lancer could see the internal struggle to keep a brave front on Dash's face, he wanted to impress his classmates. Dash furrowed his brows in challenge "Like you could even lift me. Pfft. Fenturd you're nothing, but a freak".
"Is that a cHaLlEnGe?! Like a mere hUmAn could match my strength. YOU always hurt the iNnOcEnt… for four years I eNdUrEd… I'm DONE!" Daniel yelled at Dash and then directed his booming voice towards the rest of his classmates as they flinched at the unexpected action. "WHAT? ARE YOU ALL BLIND? THE BRUISES AND CUTS WERENT ENOUGH FOR YOU TO SEE?" His volume increased and the ectoplasm from his steadily flowing down his cheeks, like tears. "HE, no ALL OF YOU constantly hurt…" his voice faltered as he scanned the crowd. Jocks, cheerleaders, nerds, averagers, geeks, and the list goes on. Hurt who? Bruises and cuts?
Daniel growled then turned towards the brick wall and swiftly contacted his fist with it, leaving an impressive impact. The school shook as his punch left a deep dent, almost through the wall. Gasps echoed from the students and one even screamed, Paulina. Students from other classrooms started murmuring and appearing at the door.
Daniel spun towards Paulina and his green eyes rolled back and replaced by pure white eyes. He grabbed the wall for support as his legs stumbled, tempting a fall. He breathed heavily, head down towards the ectoplasmic pool by his feet. Samantha and Tucker were hesitant to move. He stood up and looked at his friends.
"You save their asses constantly, and what do you get in return?" a booming voice resonating from Daniel as he paced in one direction and rotated back in the other direction.
"No, its not l-like that, I-I-" replied a quieter voice by Daniel. His normal voice but fainter. He continued to pace back and forth, as if arguing with himself.
"THEY DON'T FUCKING CARE FOR YOU! YOU'RE A MONSTER IN THEIR EYES!"
"N-no I'm not! Th-they… I-I-… I'm human too!"
"nOnSeNsE! YOU WILL NEVER FIT IN, IN BOTH REALMS! YOU'RE A FREAK!"
"I'm not a fr-freak… they'll accept m-me… th-they w-will understand…" almost a whisper, barely audible.
"YOU'RE HUNTED ON A DAY TO DAY BASIS, YET YOU CALL YOURSELF THE HUNTER!"
"I-I try to help… it will take time…"
"WE DON'T HAVE TIME, ITS RUNNING OUT!”
"What? No… just, just…"
"JUST WHAT? NO ONE LIKES YOU, YOU'RE JUST A FREAKY SCIENCE EXPERIMENT GONE WRONG!"
"I'm-I'm not wrong… I exist, right? I help…"
"YOU. WILL. NEVER. BELONG. ADMIT IT!"
"I... no, you're wrong… I’m-
-I won't belong…"
Danny whispered as he stopped walking and tilted his head down, covering the green holes that supposedly represented eyes as he admitted his own subconscious. Silence erupted as Daniel stood there.
"Danny, no... people will accept you. Remember the reality gauntlet incident?" Samantha broke the unending silence as she walked towards Daniel with her hand out stretched. Tears threatened to fall from her face. Samantha never cries.
"Yea dude fight it… You belong, you're just as much human as all of us." Tucker supplemented from his position next to Samantha, he took a step forward, but not as close to Daniel as Samantha. Tucker also looked as if on the verge of tears. Lancer couldn't comprehend anything said in the past 20 minutes, not even Daniel's rant.
Many students had started to cry, fear rising from the pits of their stomach. He had a similar feeling creeping up his body. Paulina, being one the loudest wailers, started to fill up the silence that surrounded the class. Daniel still stood there, a blank expression displayed on his face.
A flash erupted at Daniel's waist, but died out as quickly as it came. His bright green ectoplasmic eyes from before rolled back in and he collapsed on the floor, unconscious.
"Danny!" Samantha shouted as she ran up to him an grabbed him by the shoulder before he could touch the ground. She was crouched on the floor with his head in her lap. His eyes suddenly flickered blue/green and he grabbed her arm tightly.
"yOu… (cough cough) PrOmIsEd…" he hesitantly whispered between breaths. His hold on her arm went limp as Samantha's eyes widened and flashed rigorously while her face went slack.

Danny's room had always been one of my favorite places to be in. The comfortable bed surrounded by NASA posters always warmed my heart. The room even smelled like him. The boys were grabbing the food for ourr weekend-o-fun and they would be up any minute now. We planned to watch three movies, each one chosen by a member of our trio.
"We got snacks!" called Danny as he entered his room. He had grown since his awkward, clumsy self. He even had muscles and abs, I need to stop thinking about that! Four years of ghost fighting can do that to someone. He and Tuck had 3 overloaded bowls of food in their arms, every teenager's dream. I grabbed mine and set it on the nightstand by the bed. Tuck had started eating already and predictably it was meat, yuck.
We started the movie on the TV in Danny's room. 20 minutes into Tuck's chosen cinema, he declared "Hey, I gotta go to the bathroom quickly. Just pause for me."
"UGH," groaned Danny "we all know that quickly isn't the right word." I chuckled beside him and he smirked in response.
"Shut up man" Tucker responded and left the room. An awkward silence overwhelmed the two left and Danny was the first to break it.
"Hey Sam, I gotta ask you something. You won't laugh if I tell you right?" He looked a bit shy and overworked, like he had been contemplating asking this for a while.
"That depends on what it is," she retorted "but go ahead." He shifted slightly and sat up facing towards her.
"You know, I've been ghost fight 'in for a while now, and well, we've been pretty lucky. No major damages and stuff like that. But…" he hesitated "we wont always be lucky. There may be a day where… where I don't come back. Don't get mad, and I know you will tell me it won't happen, but promise me. Just promise me, whatever happens you'll keep on going. Don't wait for me. You and Tuck will have each other. Just promise me, if I get hurt…" he stopped when I hugged him quickly and tears threatened to spill from my cheeks. He was right, the possibility that he might not end up ok in the end was always there. That didn't mean that I wanted it to happen.
"I-I- Danny don't think like this. We will always be there to help you, I won't let it happen." I looked him straight in the eyes and he too had few tears.
"You didn't promise me." He said in monotony looking back at me.
"I," I faltered, promising him meant that it might happen, but… "I promise. Danny, I promise" I hugged him again held him tightly to my chest. I didn't want to lose him, I couldn't lose him. I pulled back and looked him in the eyes and leaned forward and kissed him.
He flinched at first, but then accepted it and leaned in. The passionate kiss continued a bit, until we both pulled back, breathless.
"Wow, I- uh," Danny was stunned. I giggled, he still was clumsy sometimes.
"Danny, I don't want to lose you. And I-I love you." I looked into his crystal blue eyes shining so bright. I always was quite fond of his eyes, reminding me of my favorite flowers, hydrangeas.
"I love you to Sam" the words melted my heart and I lept in and kissed him again. My hands in his hair and his hands on my back. The kiss started to become more intense and –
"YAAAASSSSS! FINALLY! I KNEW IT WOULD HAPPEN BEFORE GRADUATION!" Tucker stood in the door way and jumped in the air, more excited than Danny. I crawled off Danny's lap and sat on his side, a blush starting to creep onto my face. I could see Danny blushing at my side and staring furiously at the floor.
"Lovebirds…" Tucker cooed. This time, we didn't deny it. We continued to watch the movie as Danny embraced his arm around my back and pulled me closer to him. For the first time after the accident, Danny felt warm than icy cool.

Sam sat on the floor, something felt light on her lap. She was in Lancer's classroom. She looked down at her lap and almost gasped out loud. The memories hit her back like a train wreck. DANNY! Her mind could only go to her boyfriend's condition. She didn't, no couldn't, understand what was happening, it was as if his mind was fighting internally to gain control of the overall body. Tucker sat right next to her looking at her curiously.
"Sam, are you ok? You just went into a hypnotic trance…" he patted her back in confirmation as if to bring her back to reality.
"Yeah, yeah… I'm-I'm not fine. Look at him! How do we… shit Danny!" My mind was racing for a solution, but his "episode" had not been anything she had seen before. Outside an ambulance siren was ringing. If they took Danny, they'd… no. I can't let them take him.
"Tuck, lets take him and go. An ambulance is here" Sam whispered in Tuck's ear. She wanted to leave, she wanted to run. She wanted to keep her promise. "I promise…" she whispered as tears spilled down her cheeks onto Danny's unconscious body. His heartbeat was fainter than usual, and he had turned an uncharacteristically shade of white. He wasn't even stabbed, if he leaves me, I'll –
"Ms. Manson, Mr. Foley, a stretcher has arrived. Let's help the EMT's get him on to there." Lancer pleaded
Tuck was just about to grab Danny and help her get him the hell out of there when suddenly Danny started mumbling something. What? Sam mouthed at Tuck and he shrugged in reply. Danny repeated the mumbling and it increased in volume slowly:
"promises, pRoMiSeS, PrOmIsEs, PROMISES…" the students who were whispering among themselves became quiet and everyone stopped moving. Danny sprung up from Sam's lap and stood tall. His eyes opened rapidly, displaying 2 blue circles, his normal eyes.
Instantaneously, a bright ring appeared at Danny's waist and slowly split in two. Red sweatshirt and jeans replaced by a black and white jumpsuit. Raven colored hair replaced by pure white hair. His blue eyes blinked open and shone a hazardous bright green. The clumsy, wimpy Danny Fenton had transformed into the powerful Danny Phantom. His expression was shocked, like he was in a subconscious state.
Gasps and screams emitted from the students and they all broke out in hysteria:
Fenturd... is my idol?!
The-The ghost boy… is wait what?
Is he… dead?
How long has he hid this secret?
Great Phantom of the Opera!
Sam was just as shocked as Tuck, by judging the expression on his face. It seemed as Danny unknowingly transformed. I guess it's time they all knew that he risks his life everyday to save their sorry asses. Danny stood there, well hovered there, and took in the scene. The moment when realization hit him in the face was visible, it contorted into a grimace.
Someone had been taking a video of the entire class period and had already posted it online. The news, oh my god. The-the Guys in White… no.
"N-n-no, no, no. I-It's not what it looks like…" Danny said as he hovered backwards, stumbling into a wall. I could tell his anxiety was increasing steadily. I stood up and grabbed his hand and squeezed.
"Daniel, WHAT is the meaning of this? Are you… are you Phantom?" Lancer questioned, Sam could tell he was putting the puzzle pieces together in his mind, it wasn't that oblivious at this point.
"I-I-" and then he flew, out of the room as fast as he could. The wind created by his sudden vanish blew some stray strands of hair into my face. I promised him I would help. So I’ll do the only thing I can think of.
"EVERYBODY, QUIET!" all the students turned towards Sam, she hadn’t noticed students from other classes had joined the commotion. Tuck grabbed her hand and helped her stand up. He patted her back as a message to continue. Her heart was beating rapidly in her chest. She released a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding.
"He-he, its not our secret to tell… um… he'll tell u on his own." Sam dashed out of the room and Tuck followed her. The dashed through the halls, students crowded around her. The commotion in the halls was noisy and it became hard to hear. But she heard a faint "Ms. Manson wait!" She pushed on faster, racing to the doors. Not only was there an ambulance waiting outside, but white vans started to block up the front entrance of the school.
A pair of hands grabbed her ankle and she was pulled down through the ground. Tuck was pulled with her as they went intangible into a basement. When she reached the floor she looked up to a pair of wide neon green eyes staring back at her.
"Shit Danny, we're screwed." My arms were trembling, and my mind was clouded with the horrifying moments that just occurred.
"I know…" he said in a raspy voice before collapsing onto to cold concrete floor, exhausted to the extent of unconsciousness.
