Critical for preventing accidents, ensuring stability, and safeguarding against falls – ladder safety is a necessity to promote a secure work environment.

forget the bull in the china shop / there's a china doll in the bullpen
A little giant ladder is a short ladder that has been made to be small enough for an adult to climb up and down. It is also called a mini-ladders. They have been used for years but have recently gained popularity as they are easy to use and travel well even when the weather is bad.
Today I got to wear the jacket I thrifted on sunday 🥰 also found a bookstore with many great soft cover english editions and got a few so I reorganized our bookshelf to make room, the last picture is the stuff I had to move elsewhere 😫
this is the wool coat that was my capstone project for the sewing portion of my classes!
It is fully lined, tailored for me, and extremely warm!
I chose a pattern that had princess seams and put a shawl collar on the coat instead of the notched collar everyone else in the class was doing
Here's a picture of one of my bound buttonholes! A kind of button holes so hard to do that my pattern making textbook just says to get a professional to do it for you if you want them in a garment XD
Here's a picture of the kind of button I chose. I decided on this because it looks a lot like the twill of the wool making up the coat it rests on!
This is the damask lining I ended up using (I had a pima cotton originally, but had a catastrophic failure that made me unable to use it for this project) it's almost exactly the same shade as mint frosting so my classmates and I started calling it my mint brownie (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*.✧
That pima cotton I mentioned earlier? There was still enough after disaster struck to do the pockets! Cotton makes for a much better pocket than damask and these pockets are hidden in the princess seams lines while being big enough to fit my phone, lipstick, and gloves at the same time!
This project was stressful at times, but it was such a a blast and I learned a TON and now I have a great coat for formal events again! The only real downside is that because I made it from wool this coat has to be dry cleaned (which I definitely can't afford after buying the materials to make this coat XD)
since i made progress but did not finish my mending project on the 3rd, i finished it on the 4th. where before there were holes and worn fabric, there is now fun embroidery!
love how it turned out! i'd like to figure out how to fix and protect those ragged stretchy cuff ends too, but that's a project for another time. i also cleaned the toilet bowls.
on the 5th i washed another window's blinds! very slowly, with many breaks, bc what a fucking task lol. that window is taller than me 🫠. but that's 2 windows done! i swept and washed the sill and the floor underneath while i was down there, too, so I won't have to move the piece of furniture that goes in front of it again, if i clean the rest of that floor soon (a big if, but less big for having done that).
today/the 6th, i did some dusting and added in a few high up spots that can't be easily reached and were therefore Very dusty. i wasn't willing to get out a ladder today but i was willing to stand on tiptoe and/or the stairs and really reach, and some stuff's cleaner than it's been in a while for it. also got what I could reach of some wall, which shouldn't be allowed to get dusty, and yet!
Okay so I've basically decided to apply for that gig, it came down to the fact that were it not my fear of earning my current boss' emnity, there would be very little hesitation about it (albeit I'd be going from permanent to contract again, but it's a longer contract, at an institution I'd really like to work for, with much better connections and experience than my current gig, as well as better pay, location, etc)
So now it's like. Well how/when do I tell my current boss that I'm applying? Esp since she's so....emphatic....about my role in this Big Upcoming Project and her idealized 5 year plan. Like??? I'm not guaranteed to get this gig! I'm a solid candidate, and would probably get at least an interview, but still! I'm just??? Wahhhh
I tired and jumpy and feel guilty for just existing and I'm TERRIFIED of every little noise and conversation because it's like waiting for the other shoe to drop and waiting for something bad you know it's going to happen no it's not the trauma no it's not because my boss is sort of similar to my mother personality wise no it's not a trauma response in addition to my own lack of experience
something something historical fantasy where vampires overtook humans and became our overlords but we're co-existing somewhat peacefully and everyone starts wearing high-neck dresses and shirts because the neck becomes somewhat of an erotic area of the body, and it's super scandalous to show in public
and also late stage holmes canon is like star trek in the way that you'll get stories like "illustrious client" which was so good that when elementary went to adapt it they were like "three of these things (Sherlock Holmes Serious Concussion, Kitty Winter Acid Attacks Her Rapist, and Shinwell Johnson's Whole Thing) are so iconic we have to build an entire season around each of them or, like, "blanched soldier" which has a good mystery, a strong emotional through-line, and a really fun narration gimmick, BUT . then also in between stories like this you get stories like "shoscomb old place" which is just like. mildly bad like it's just not the best mystery, plus a dash of antisemitism, and stuff like "three gables" which is actively offensive in many ways
