Title: Telemedicine's Role in Improving Healthcare Accessibility
In an era where digital innovations are reshaping every aspect of our lives, healthcare is no exception. Telemedicine, a branch of telehealth, has emerged as a transformative force in the healthcare landscape, offering unprecedented access to medical services regardless of geographical barriers. In this blog post, we'll explore how telemedicine is revolutionizing healthcare accessibility and its impact on patients and healthcare providers alike.
Breaking Down Barriers
One of the most significant advantages of telemedicine is its ability to break down geographical barriers. In remote or underserved areas where access to healthcare facilities is limited, telemedicine bridges the gap between patients and healthcare providers. Through virtual consultations, patients can receive timely medical advice, diagnosis, and even treatment without the need to travel long distances. This is particularly beneficial for individuals with mobility issues, chronic illnesses, or those living in rural areas with limited access to healthcare facilities.
It is with great pleasure that I write this welcome message from UCG. I extend an invitation to all global healthcare leaders, nurses, outstanding scientists, academicians, young researchers, business delegates, and students to join us for the 14th World Healthcare, Hospital Management, Nursing, and Patient Safety Conference, which will take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on July 25–27, 2024.
Convenience and Flexibility
Telemedicine offers unparalleled convenience and flexibility for both patients and healthcare providers. With virtual appointments, patients no longer need to wait for hours in crowded waiting rooms or take time off work to visit a doctor. Instead, they can schedule appointments at their convenience and receive care from the comfort of their homes. Similarly, healthcare providers can conduct virtual consultations from anywhere, allowing them to reach a broader patient population and optimize their time more efficiently.

Meet Our Keynote-Speakers
Prof. Dr. Robert H. Schiestl: University of Vienna, Austria Dr. Barry Lachman: President, Lachman Community Development and Consulting Services Ms. Lori Beth Irvin: Founder and CEO of LBIngenuity Dr. Minerva kelada: chief medical officer for imperial county medical groups Dr. Charles Hale: President of Hale Consulting Solutions LLC Dr. Deborah Ventz-Migneco, PFAC Coach, US Dr. Mary Suja Sukumar, Anesthesiologist and simulation instructor, US
Enhanced Continuity of Care
Telemedicine plays a vital role in enhancing continuity of care, especially for patients with chronic conditions or complex medical needs. By enabling regular virtual check-ins and remote monitoring, healthcare providers can closely monitor patients' progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and intervene promptly in case of emergencies. This proactive approach not only improves patient outcomes but also reduces the risk of hospital readmissions and healthcare costs.

Improving Access to Specialty Care
In many regions, accessing specialized medical care can be challenging due to limited availability of specialists or long wait times for appointments. Telemedicine bridges this gap by connecting patients with specialists from around the world. Through virtual consultations, patients can seek expert medical advice and treatment recommendations without the need for costly and time-consuming travel. This not only improves patients' access to specialized care but also facilitates collaboration among healthcare professionals, leading to better patient outcomes.
Overcoming Healthcare Disparities
Register your slot As a Speaker/Listener/Poster presenter here: Register here: https://nursing.universeconferences.com/registration/ Telemedicine has the potential to address healthcare disparities by providing equitable access to medical services for all populations, regardless of socioeconomic status or geographic location. By leveraging digital technologies, telemedicine ensures that everyone has access to quality healthcare when and where they need it most. This is especially crucial in addressing disparities in rural and underserved communities, where access to healthcare services is often limited.
Looking Ahead
As technology continues to evolve, the future of telemedicine holds even greater promise for improving healthcare accessibility. Advancements in artificial intelligence, remote monitoring devices, and virtual reality are poised to further enhance the capabilities of telemedicine, making healthcare more personalized, efficient, and accessible than ever before.
In conclusion, telemedicine is revolutionizing healthcare accessibility by breaking down geographical barriers, offering convenience and flexibility, enhancing continuity of care, improving access to specialty care, and addressing healthcare disparities. As we embrace the digital age of healthcare, telemedicine stands as a beacon of hope, ensuring that every individual has access to the medical care they deserve, regardless of where they are located.
Telemedicine encompasses various types of services and applications aimed at delivering healthcare remotely. Here are some common types of telemedicine:
Real-Time Telemedicine: This involves live interactions between patients and healthcare providers using video conferencing, phone calls, or secure messaging platforms. Real-time telemedicine allows for immediate diagnosis, treatment, and consultation without the need for in-person visits.
Store-and-Forward Telemedicine: In this type of telemedicine, patient medical data, such as images, videos, or medical records, are collected and transmitted securely to healthcare providers or specialists for review at a later time. This asynchronous communication method allows for diagnostic evaluations, specialist consultations, and treatment planning without the need for simultaneous interaction.
Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM): Remote patient monitoring involves the use of digital technologies to collect and transmit patient health data, such as vital signs, biometric measurements, or symptoms, from a distance. Healthcare providers can remotely monitor patients' health status in real-time and intervene as necessary, especially for chronic conditions or post-operative care.
Mobile Health (mHealth) Apps: Mobile health apps enable patients to access healthcare services, manage their health data, and communicate with healthcare providers using smartphones or tablets. These apps offer various features, including appointment scheduling, medication reminders, symptom tracking, and teleconsultations, making healthcare more accessible and convenient.

I’ve submitted five abstracts for four conferences this fall! I’m currently waiting to hear back about three, one was accepted as a poster, and I get to present the fifth! Very excited to be back at meetings while still taking rigorous Covid precautions, thanks to the cyborg PPE y’all helped me crowdfund this spring.

Hello!!!!!!!! Hope you're having a nice day!!!! I'm insane about your SOMA au, it's so nice to see an au where Simon is spared from The Horrors
Your au has so much potential and I think that's really neat, was anyone there when Simon woke up? Imagine how scary it must be if you're a pathos employee just chilling and then one of the dive suits gains sentience and starts freaking out, I'd hate to be the one to explain to him that he's not human and he's 100 years in the future
You said in one of your posts that he becomes the poster guy for robot rights, what did he do to become that popular? I'm genuinely curious about what some guy at the bottom of the ocean can do to become a major figure in what sounds like a civil rights movement
*emerges from the salt marsh covered in conference presentation abstracts and barnacles* oml I haven’t thought deeply about my beloved Paranoid Android of Pathos II AU in too long… I’m so glad that goofy little concept has been fun for you too!
1. Was anyone there when Simon woke up?
Kind of? In my head the diving suit+scanner was an abandoned pet project of Catherine’s that was quite literally shoved in a closet somewhere when other projects began to take priority. (The world isn’t ending; research is just Like That sometimes.) The closet happened to have a structure gel leak which contaminated the suit and bam! Simon is Very Confused and concerned about suddenly being in a closet. Catherine is in her office at the time, so hyper focused on her work she doesn’t really hear him come out of the closet and when he asks where he is/what’s going on she kind of assumes he’s a technician that got lost until she turns around and promptly Nopes Out. Explaining to him that he’s not human and 100 years in the future is Ross’ job (AI psychologist - that’s kind of in his job title, right?)
2. Why does Simon have international acclaim for pioneering android rights?
I’m not gonna lie that was a joke based entirely on the crack premise of him getting arrested for stealing from the on-station Panera Bread restaurant (which is entirely my own ridiculous invention for silliness purposes). I guess the reason why the world would care is because like…you arrested a robot. Does the robot’s ‘creator’ get prosecuted or does the robot? I imagine the case was dropped because it was so absurd and had never happened before but it technically set the precedent that a) AI scans are independent of their physical ‘creators’ and b) are entitled to basic rights insofar as the legal system and its proceedings.
A bit of a stretch to call it a civil rights movement since Simon is the only scan that’s ‘awake’ although I’m sure the Carthage Industries Ethics Committee is having a hell of a time figuring out if they need to stop using such scans/should they try to make more androids like Simon for profit/etc. Bad day to be in the corporate offices.
…although I reiterate that factoid was born from the joke premise of Simon stealing from Panera. A restaurant on Pathos II. At the bottom of the ocean. Because Carthage Industries has taste. So this is all a goofy crack scenario anyway lol

On Dahlia’s relationship with Iris. Her twin sister is possibly the only person she ever felt genuinely attached to. She may claim to dislike her, that she thinks of her as nothing but a nuisance and a backstabber, but this comes as the result of a long, complicated history between the two. Her attitude towards Iris during the Bridge case doesn’t reflect her original feelings.
There are a lot of things that connect them. The shared experience of living under their narcissistic mother, the training to be spirit mediums, the many expectations that were piled onto them, the feelings of worthlessness and inadequacy come the realization they lacked any spiritual powers, and then eventually, life as a lesser member of the branch family. To Dahlia, no one but her sister will ever understand the dreariness of those days. Seeing how much tragedy and drama the Fey clan has produced, I think the overall atmosphere in the village was washed in competitiveness and resentment. If there were other young spirit mediums around ( prior to the DL-6 incident when clan members started to leave and pursued lives in the city instead ), the twins might’ve been target of ridicule and harassment. In the microcosm of Kurain Village, where a woman’s worth is measured in her spiritual prowess, the twins were without value. Dahlia certainly felt cursed.
That wasn’t a reason to complain though. Amidst all the horrible memories, there are a lot of pleasant ones too. Moments of togetherness despite ( or maybe even because of ) all the adversity they faced. Doing each other’s hair, reading their mother’s Senryū books together, sneaking off during training to explore the surrounding area, Dahlia stealing from American tourists on occasion and sharing her finds with Iris, watching the lights of the city in the distance and wondering what life was like down there and whether there was a place for them.
Their relationship delved into rocky territory only after they were separated as children. I don’t believe Dahlia convinced her father to abandon Iris at Hazakura Temple because she felt annoyed by her presence. Instead her action was motivated by the fear their father would return both of them to dreadful Kurain Village. It was an attempt to save herself from that possibility. She absolutely did not want to return, and so chose her own interest over that of her sister. Despite that, they kept in touch.
During the following years Dahlia kept confiding to Iris about her life, her plans, her crimes. At times her sister would assist, but rarely to Dahlia’s satisfaction. Uniquely, Iris was not a pawn, she was an accomplice, a partner in crime. She continued to be a part of her twin’s life, even when her efforts ( or lack thereof ) left Dahlia feeling betrayed. What would’ve been a death sentence for any other person, was simply, bitterly put up with. Iris wasn’t cut out for her sister’s demands, yet she was given another chance to redeem herself and prove her worth by returning an incriminating piece of evidence, the necklace that had been left in Phoenix’s possession. Dahlia was impressed by Iris’ plan, though doubtful; she had failed her before. Months passed and soon stretched into half a year before Dahlia finally had to admit to herself Iris wouldn’t retrieve what she had set out to. She had prioritized that man over her, her own sister. It was the final nail in the coffin of their slowly deteriorating siblingship. The final betrayal that would condemn Dahlia to the rope.

had a dream last night where i became a demon lord by accident, told the devil he needed to talk to his mum more, and escaped the realm of the dead
the backstory of this dream was that when you died you went to the devil's realm, and if you were a strong enough magic user he would might you back to the mortal realm as a demon lord to cause havoc. when this happened, the sky would rend apart as a portal was created between the two realms on high and the people would shake in fear knowing that a new demon lord walked the earth.
(i think angels would also be sent down to fight the demon lords and all that, but angels aren’t humans, they’re made beings. so if you wanted back to the mortal realm you had to go through the devil, who controlled the realm of the dead in general but like, he only concerned himself with the top dogs you know?)
i met the devil's mum on earth and really vibed with her and liked her !! i think i looked up to her as a mother figure myself. then i went out into the world to just - vibe. and ended up accidentally growing my magical power and climbing these ranked "seats" of magic users. by complete accident! i did not mean to do this! i was just having fun and vibing and accidentally doing buckwild magic shit with no formal information. like. my illusions could be touched and manipulated by straight up hands which was apparently a huge deal and really catapulted me up the line
anyway so i accidentally die, right. and i end up in the devil's conference room where I have been before (?) because I think I met with this guy several times in dreams (?) where he was surprisingly refreshed by my complete lack of fear and respect and I sat in a chair that wasn't really meant for me so I could look this dude in the eye. things get a little fuzzy here but i'm pretty sure that i a) asked him why he doesn't talk to his mother more and b) ended up causing a commotion and ditching lol. so i was loose in a part of the demon realm i wasn't supposed to be in!
i ended up managing to find the mortal realm and passed through - but because i wasn't at the usual place and was very close to the ground, it didn't rend the sky or anything and wasn't dramatic - i just sort of fell through. i remember pausing and thinking... oh this will help me later, particularly pretending to be a regular mortal.
so i decided to try and find the devil's mum again. downside: because I was now a demon lord, i had the strengths and weakness of a demon lord which came directly from the devil's own strengths and weaknesses. which one of his weaknesses was not being able to sense his mother's magic. which meant i couldn't sense his mum's magic. so i was lowkey flying blind lol
so that was the dream. i befriended the devil's mum, earned the devil's respect, accidentally became a stupid powerful magic user, yelled at the devil for not working on his relationship with his mother, and escaped to become a runaway demon lord lol
so yeah anyway my sleep brain decided to full on yeet me into an anime, huh

Was looking forward to a lazy weekend, but while still being lazy (lounging in bed, camera & mic off) i´m also now attending that ic conference sara is at because that field is just so interesting to me.
Tumblr media
edit: currently listening to these two spanish pioneers, who just started a year ago, talk about misconceptions about ICs (gist: they just want to ruin all the fun! ugh. "I have my suitcase full of plastic penises and you accuse me of being puritan?") They were great!
Aw, there´s apparently a modesty garment shop set up on-site, too. Love that.
Next up, speaking about one´s emotional toolkit for the work:
Now talking about managing secondary traumatisation in actors:
She flew in from Australia just for this event, which is apparently the first in-person conference of ICs ever.
"PDST" as in post-dramatic stress is apparently a thing, and it makes sense when you learn about the suppression of self in the frontal lobe when actors perform (which we did earlier).
Remarkable point about intergenerational and community trauma: certain minorities might be largely or almost exclusively asked to relive their ancestors´ or community´s trauma in performances, which, oof. This refers to e.g. slavery, but also queer/gender issues.
Was reminded of sub-drop and bdsm when hearing about separating from reality - transitioning into new place - returning to reality and loved when someone who does workshops about kink spoke up about developing rituals for that.
