the most beautiful and most horrible part about being in a fandom is the fact that people can just post whatever absolute batshit insane takes they want and everyone else can see it.

particularly in the good omens fandom, this is beautiful because people can post so many different theories about clues and hidden meanings, and some of them are so wild and out there that they hardly make sense, but it's wonderful because even the most fringe theories can generate new ideas and get people talking and are otherwise fun and everyone get to participate.

but it's also horrible because people really be out here spitting takes like "crowley and aziraphale are evil and don't actually love one another and here's why i believe they shouldn't end up together in the end" and say that shit with they whole chest and don't hear how absolutely fucking bonkers they sound like some of y'all really shouldn't be allowed to consume or engage with media without taking a literary test

I feel like people have lost the plot somewhere when they critique something as “not having much of a plot”

Like I just watched a review of GO2 where the person said they didn’t like most of the season because it didn’t have “much of a plot”, and while I kind of get it, I’m also like??? that was the point??? Stories can be more than just straight forward plot.

Just because there’s a chunk of the story where we see the characters in down time where the plot is on the back burner doesn’t make it bad??? Buffing out characters and character drama is just as valuable a straight forward plot

Feeling that Aziraphale energy today. I went to visit an abbey, not for religious purposes but to take pictures in the gardens (so a little bit Crowleycore). They have a farm there and do preserves in the gift shop and I came home with so many jars of plum preserve. I’ve had it once before and it is SO GOOD. Had to get some ginger, too. This is Aziraphale with anything he enjoys at a farmer’s market, only at least 3 times more because unlimited budget and ability to miracle shopping bags, pantries and fridges to be bigger on the inside. He’d have also liked the bee mug I picked up that I do not need but had to have.

And then we stopped for sushi on the way home.

#okay it was part of a bento box rather than a proper full roll but it still counts #there was surprisingly little in bloom at the gardens for the time of year #those plants clearly need to GROW BETTER #but I got to see no less than three alligators down by the river #like Crowley they have lovely golden eyes #and like to bask in the sun #the number of times I have been someplace that has gators basking and overheard other visitors wondering if they're real #just because they're so still and chill #well if I had a nickle for each I'd have bought more preserves #Duck rambles #and leaves the house occasionally
