Thots NOW (if and when you have time ofc)
out of context this sounds like you're just politely demanding more sex fjadskl.
so, ciwyw is a cute song because it was her saying that anyone on the outside could call her and joe what they wanted - fake, too soon, crazy, doomed, nonsensical, a bad idea, whatever - because she knew it was real, it was love. (side note: i love that the essence of the song is that people can call their relationship whatever they want, but what it actually is, she never explicitly names. just a fun little artistic device!)
ciwyw also always reminded me of that line in don't blame me: "my name is whatever you decide, i'm just gonna call you mine." i always took this as her basically saying i'm so in love with you, i don't care if/when you call me your wife, even your girlfriend, but you're my one and only. (it's only recently i learned people think that line was about marriage oop.)
and this love is telling a story of a person who isn't a permanent fixture in her life, they come and go just like the tide; however, this person left such a deep mark on her, she welcomes them back, even when they've both tried to move on. the implication is that it's special and rare. this love is good, it's bad, so call it what you want, but it's real.
tldr i kinda thought ciwyw was subtly hinting at the games they were playing at the beginning, the back and forth, the uncertainty, etc.

There's this Australian show I need y'all to watch called the Doctor Blake Mysteries and anyway there's a point where lonely sad alcoholic widower Lucien Blake is finally ready to move on and choose happiness and love with his beautiful housekeeper Jean and they are sitting on the sofa together and he pulls out his mother's ring which he has sneakily had resized for Jean and he begins to propose to her while she's watching him wide eyed and hopeful but someone knocks on the door and he has to go to answer it, expecting to see their boarder, only to discover his long dead wife standing on the doorstep, and anyway the cut from Jean this is my mother's ring to Lucien? Who is it?/My wife is so profoundly devastating but also leads into some of my favorite episodes of the entire show and in the long term really strengthens his relationship with and commitment to Jean, and Lucien isn't Catholic (anymore. Jean is. That is a Problem later on) but it's the late fifties-early sixties and no fault divorce isn't a thing so the only way for him to divorce his wife or be divorced from her is for one of them to argue that the other committed adultery (could be very socially damaging for Jean, who lives in Lucien's house, if he was publicly accused of adultery) or abandonment and that entire predicament is delicious and makes for such compelling viewing and all of that has been running on a loop in my head for the last twelve hours

[6th of October 2023] make me new
for a while I wanted to expand more on the "funeral trap" sound, so this release pretty much does that
https://tunalad.bandcamp.com/album/make-me-new
https://youtu.be/2HndooQ7yE0
I've noticed whenever I'm posting music on Tumblr that's a lot more personal, I tend to write little to nothing xddd
oh yeah, the painting used here is View of Frederiksværk from Tisvilde Wood

my eras tour film thoughts!
here are some little things i noticed while watching the film on saturday:
love story - at one point during the bridge when taylor and the starlights are all on stage, elliotte or kamilah is playing around and does a "charging bull" thing? it was funny but also, what! lmao
loved the snake effect during the rep intro but it completely creeped out many people in my theater
the backup dancers' expressions during rep are so cute. just really cheeky and fun.
delicate - i love the cracking effect on the floor! it was so cool seeing it in hd. and i love the symbolism: the floor/their relationship is delicate as glass, and here taylor is, potentially breaking it by being too honest or open... but after the bridge, the floor is completely cracked, but she skips around freely because she no longer fears ruining it. i never noticed the skipping before!
don't blame me - why... did they edit it like that. the flashing, the quick cuts, ay yi yi.
yoyok - as we noticed, the piano flowers were 3d/attached instead of simply painted on. but some of the flowers are halved: i wonder if this is a nod to the line "i pick the petals, he loves me not" and the way she's written so many songs about her heartbreaks and discovering love?
lavender haze - i really love the effect the tour arrangement has, where it sounds like the music is coming from a party in the next room. the bass is really strong, but it fits the metaphor of having a protective "haze" that you are hesitant to leave.
