Marcille and Falin's relationship is so. Like to start out this ten year old child and this thirty-seven year old research grad were one another's first ever friend, right? They're adorable, there's mutual respect, they change and enrich eachother's lives, Marcille revises her whole approach to her life goals due to Falin's influence, ect.

Fast forward a decade, and Falin grows up. Falin leaves, for four whole years, and Marcille follows her to the end of the earth as soon as she's asked. She'll risk her life, die repeatedly, eat monsters and slime, invoke ancient and forbidden magic to save her.

But acknowledging Falin as an adult who has grown and changed with the passage of time? That's scary. That's too scary.

boba fett's childhood is such an untapped goldmine of uncanny existential horror, even before he loses his father.

like, imagine growing up never seeing another child except those that are identical to you—carbon copies in every way, except their heads are shaved, they're plugged into machines all day, and they never stay children for very long. the ones that survive turn into men who look like your father, but your father calls them cattle, cannon fodder.

you're a clone, too. you should be cattle like them, but your father doesn't call you those things. he says you're his real son and that he loves you.

your father loves you. this is what distinguishes you from the cattle and the canon fodder. your father loves you and that's what makes you a person.

Today marks the start of the very last week of my 20s.

Lookbook: Madeline, Wilbur, & Claude Lynch, 1920s

Since it wouldn't be fair to just do one or two of the triplets, this is a three-for-one. The Lynch triplets aged up to teens in the late 1920s. While the three of them, especially Wilbur and Claude, were dressed similarly as children, they've begun to take on their own styles. Madeline is a bit of an odd duck and free spirit, Wilbur enjoys more youthful, casual clothes, and Claude is a bit more conservative and muted in his fashion.

The lost potential of DA2 is the idea of a singular changing city over the course of a long time period as opposed to an open-world static landscape. Majora's Mask is my favourite Zelda for a lot of different reasons but I have always been fascinated with the potential for a video game to allow you to explore a changing world which is influenced by your actions, as opposed to a theme park ride.

It just came at the wrong time - before the open world was as overdone and overwrought as it is now - and was probably done on the terms of a very contracted development cycle. But Kirkwall as a character which you could influence like you could your companions sounded like the best sort of thing Bioware could do with its RPG's.

The second day of 1308 gets off to an exciting start with a whole heap of birthdays. First, Hyacinth Gauthier finally (FINALLY) ages up into a Child. She was an active and happy Toddler, so I figured it made sense to give her the Goofball, Adventurous, and Outgoing traits. Right after aging up and getting her medieval makeover she went and helped Eusebia cook breakfast.

Right after his older sister, Julien Gauthier ages up into a Wild but Angelic Toddler. Eusebia's curly hair has really shone through with him, but otherwise his colouring is allllll Lucan, much like Hyacinth herself.

Last but not least, over at Goodwyn House, Manfred Goodwyn turns 30 and ages up into an Adult, and gets a bit of a makeover to reflect that. He's filled out a bit with age and gotten kind of a dad bod, but in medieval times that probably just means he's exceptionally healthy.

i wish i could write meaningful poetry or even do comics properly to express ideas and things in my brain that haunt me a bit but i cant so im just left sitting on my bed staring at a wall and going Huh. Okay.

#today ive been thinking a lot about like. google earth of all things LOL #but specifically how id use it all the time as a kid and ofc id look up our house at time in the street view #but now as an adult more than a decade later when i go to our old street address in google eartb the pictures the same. it hasnt been #updated (understandably since its a remote shitty run down apartment in the outskirts of a remote small town in finland of all places #but still. i cant really describe the feeling of looking at a still of my childhood home taken by an outsider as anything but like. dread #because that moment thats still perserved on google earth is from when that house was the most violent and unsafe place in the world to me #and it just stays like that. frozen in time. something about ghosts caught on cameras maybe idk.#doesnt help that we dont have photos of the place really (no one felt like documenting it at the time lol) so its the only thing i have.#this completely From An Outsiders Pov still. its uncomfortable to look at. especially remembering being a child shortly after our street was #added to the site and looking at it during that time period. Man.#and when i do occasionally as an adult use google earth i always think about it too like everything i look at is Someones past
