"You've been given a Burden you never wished for..."

Today is the final day of TES Summerfest! Today (day 8) the prompt was a free day so I decided to do a piece of my elder scrolls characters meeting and comforting the newest member of the "saving the world" club, the last dragonborn. They all discuss how they were burdened with a fate they never wanted but all agree they are lucky and happy with the memories (the good ones at least) they made and the friends they made along the way. However, my Vestige is very guilty for having cursed them to carry her legacy and the burden of being a hero.

Top center: Wylarin Rosegrass (ESO Vestige), the one who started the trend for the heroes of Tamriel to be from the Rosegrass family. Gifted in archery and dual-wielding, she is a formidable opponent. She is a member of every guild that welcomes her and is gifted in Psijic magic and the art of thievery and assassinations.

Middle Left: Caeal Rosegrass (Arena), descended from Mirri Elendis (who married Wylarin and Bastian) so he is related to Wylarin, just not through blood.

Middle center: Elruin Rosegrass (Skyrim), Was the only one of the Rosegrass heroes to be reluctant in her duties, but once she adopted children she shaped up and saved the world for them. She grew up hearing all kinds of stories from her grandmother Eraeylin about everyone's heroics and never believed her.

Middle right: Belen Rosegrass (Daggerfall) She was close friends with the current emperor due to him seeking her out at one point to serve him as a personal battlemage. Due to her bloodline history, she was well respected and happily jumped at the task of putting King Lysander to rest. Once she was done she settled down and had children.

Bottom left: Ellias Rosegrass (morrowind Nereverine) He is the youngest son of Belen and is very gifted with archery and acrobatics and stealth. He got arrested for stealing and was sent to Vardenfell. He at first didn't believe he was the Nereverine but didn't turn down a chance to help others (especially if they paid)

Bottom Right: Eraeylin Rosegrass (Oblivion HOK) She is the older twin of Ellias and the middle of Belen's children. She is very similar to her brother in skill of archery but also is skilled in Alteration magic. She despises him for getting arrested (but only for getting caught) and ended up becoming an assassin for the DB. She eventually settled down and had children as well. She loved telling Elruin tales of her adventures and the tales of her brother and mother as well, even telling her about her second-cousin's exploits. When she'd tell stories she heard of Wylarin, she told them as if they were fairy tales or myths, leading to Elruin not believing the other stories at all.

There's a lot to be said about Bethesda and the Elder Scrolls, but you gotta appreciate the hustle of coming up with in-universe lore bullshittery to handwave away cross-game inconsistencies.

The cat-people look different game-to-game? Uuhh they have entirely different body structures based on their own version of Turbo Astrology. The lizard dudes looked like humans in the first game? Uuhh they're mutant plant people that evolve rapidly. This entire country looks different because we're trying to cash in on the fact that Lord of the Rings just came out a few years ago? Uuhh Lightning Jesus retroactively changed it. Which one of these endings is canon and who gets to keep the giant robot? Uuuhhhhh time paradox
