I am the kind of person that firmly believes that in most cases, people should actually look at/ experience a media product before giving in depth opinionated criticism; that way they can actually have their own perspective instead being an echo chamber. I’m specifically talking about things such as a book, movie, television show, video game; things like that.

I probably ain't gonna play Forespoken and have very little interest in it but it's incredibly suspicious that THIS is the game where the internet all of a sudden cares about shitty one-liners and cringey dialogue

Like yeah, the dialogue isn't great. But think about why, out of all the games with bad dialogue, this one just so happens to be the one that everyone all at once decided was a problem

you know what Forespoken is not very good but I'm enjoying it. There are some genuinely cool moments and I love the visuals. All the important characters are beautifully designed women in their own unique styles. The combat might be clunky but it's fun. I spent hours running around and exploring. The idea of nail art customization affecting spellcasting is also really sweet. The writing is its weakest point and the banter IS very grating, but I can tune most of it out.

My friends were commenting how that shitty hp game will only have 26 spells and I reminded them that skyrim has more shouts than that(27 with the dlc) not counting the actual game spells, potions, enchantments, unique staffs and unique powers that work like spells. Imagine being a triple AAA A game exclusively abt magic and having less magic variety than the most basic TES game regarding magic

See, that's the fucking thing, people out there going "UwU you can't deprive me of the dedicated wizard game where the Goblins commit blood libel and you need to stop them" like... Yes you fucking can, you're defending a game with less spells then there are in FINAL FANTASY I, and whose majority of spells look generic as shit.

Say what you want about skyrim vanilla spells but at least those had a minimum of visual flair outside of fucking "generic red bolt that deals 19 damage per hit and you need to spam to explode enemies so they can drop money."

This is PS2 levels of gameplay and mechanics, hardly the distinguished RPG they are trying to sell for 70 FUCKING EUROS.

And in case anyone goes "oh but we should still reward their hard work" like some fucking idiot just tell them "ok, go buy a copy of Forespoken then, same fucking wizard game, more spells, same fucking cost, don't you want to reward their hard work too?"
