Words of affirmation: I am going to own a terrible car that always smells like weed and I am going to go wherever the hell I want in it. This is something i want and I speak this into existence.
#I keep forgetting that the weed I keep scraping together is mostly the fuckin#Bulk Bag Industrial Strength Basement Weed#I do really want to travel North America in a terrible stinky car though#not driving under the influence tho that’s not the vibe at all#it’s about spending a long day or night on the road depending on what feels right#and then arriving in a location like#okay everything is within walking/local transit/rideshare distance? we’re spending the day/night here.#and then spending a day or two seeing the sights and doing whatever#and always having the car as an anchor.#I just need a bit of money#and a terrible car#… saw this car while out for a walk today#and it’s 100% On Point with my whole deal#it’s a brown GMC Yukon with a bunch of rusty bits#and I’m literally just sitting here thinking about like. calling the number and buying it on the spot if it’s not totally out of my price ra#and if it hasn’t like. travelled to the moon and back several times#I would like to cover it with nonsense stickers#and just pull up into the driveway like#‘hey folks I bought a car :) I’m never returning’#‘except for like. birthdays and holidays. but I’m never spending another holiday season anywhere but Mexico ever again!’#wait nope I would have to sell the fish#… or maybe I could pay a neighbour kid to look after them?#that’d actually work out pretty well#freedom here I come!#…. once I can actually get some money put away#I’m thinking about that car

2024 GMC Acadia Release Date, Redesign, Price
2024 GMC Acadia Release Date, Redesign, Price – The SUV hopes to stand out from the crowd. Of course, they are smaller in size compared to the straight ones. However, a three-row-seater capacity is no problem for this vehicle. There’s a strong V6 and a turbocharged four-cylinder to choose from. It may be difficult to determine where the laser is pointing. There are a lot of comfort and safety…

Daily update post:
Today is the 80th day of the war. It's been 80 days since Israelis all learned that we're not safe from Palestinian terrorists even in our own homes. It's been 80 days since most Jews worldwide have come under attack, of one type or another, following the biggest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. It's been 80 days since over 100 Israeli hostages have slept in their own beds. It's been 80 days of having to explain that we didn't start or want this war. It's been 80 days of looking at our loved ones, and knowing that on Oct 7, it could have been them. It's been 80 days of knowing that we'll have to keep losing Israelis, and mourning our people, if we want to rid the world (Israelis and Palestinians alike) of the threat of Hamas.
And indeed, two more Israeli soldiers were killed yesterday, while no less than 14 fuenrals for young soldiers, most of them around 19 or 20 years old, were held all across the country. One of the funerals had to be held low key, with almost no attendance, because the kibbutz this young soldier, Gal Hershko, belongs to is in the north, and the community members are evacuated, due to Hezbollah rockets being fired at the area. It would be too risky for them to be at that cemetery. The eulogies for Gal were held at a gym, close to where the evacuated members of the community are staying.
Israel is letting into Gaza 80,000 vaccines for children, to help with the health situation there.

The Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya has experienced a serious issue with its computers system since yesterday, it's possibly another cyber attack, like the unsuccessful one on the Ziv Hospital (the one that's now known to have been carried out jointly by Hezbollah and Iran). The GMC has had to shut down its computers, and has initiated a special protocol that exists for such situations, saying no medical service has so far been stopped. Let's hope that this is resolved quickly, and doesn't end up costing any human life.
Ukrainian-born Israeli gymnast, Olympic gold medalist and world champion Artem Dolgopyat has decided to auction the world championship gold medal that he won on Oct 7, and donate the money to the Israelis from the communities which were massacred on that day. Winning this medal was his stated dream after taking gold at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. But when asked about this, he replied, ""What is the status of a world champion worth if my country hurts? The state of Israel comes first for me."
Tumblr media
This is CCTV footage, showing a fragment of a rocket that hit an Israeli supermarket, after it was successfully intercepted by Iron Dome (for all the people who think Israel should just be okay with rockets being fired at it, because we have this defense system):
What I also find interesting is that this was shared by al-Arabiya, a Saudi news channel. One of the theories about the timing of Hamas' massacre, is that it was meant to provoke an Israeli reaction so fierce, that the Arab world would have to take a stand against Israel, and the possibility of peace talks between the Israelis and Saudis would come to an end. If that was the intention, al-Arabiya posting footage that explains to the Arab world, the Israeli POV, is an indication that maybe those peace talks still have a chance.
This is 30 years old Israel Chana.

On the morning of Oct 7, he was coming back from celebrating his 30th birthday with his family, friends, ad the girlfriend he told his mom he wanted to propose to. After the rocket attacks started, the terrorists got to his neighborhood. Israel worked as a security guard. He grabbed his pistol, 15 bullets, and went out to fight the terrorists. He saved his neighborhood, but was killed himself.
May his memory be a blessing.

HI CAN WE TALK ABT VEHICLES AGAIN PLS?
So do the boys keep their trucks clean inside and out 95% of the time? Or do one or both of them just kinda let the inside get away from them? Like finding random bolts and parts and wire snips and gloves on every surface of their trucks? Or are they vacuuming it out once a week ? (One boy finding the other boy and reader’s underwear in the truck and immediately going back to the house for sexy time) are their trucks kept in the garage or in the drive way? Both?
Which boy does most of the vehicle maintenance? Do they have opinions on what reader drives? Like brand make model? Because ik in my family every guy has like a brand of car he 100% will not work on. Do they have any stipulations like that?
How big is the garage?
Tumblr media
Original truck post, for reference
Bobby absolutely keeps his truck clean; it's a pavement princess through and through. It can absolutely do the heavy lifting that Rhett's does, pulling trailers and general offroading, but Bob doesn't have much of a reason to do those sorts of things. That pretty little truck is as clean as a whistle, gets a nice handwash every few weeks, and the interior is borderline brand new. Maybe the floor mats have a little mud because Rhett's boots are rarely clean, but he stays pretty on top of it.
A big player in that is the whole Navy thing. He's expected to keep his uniforms pristine, and it just feels wrong to drive onto a base with a vehicle that doesn't reflect that same cleanliness standard.
Rhett's truck is an entirely different story. He'd love to keep it clean, but it's just not feasible when you work on a ranch five days a week, sometimes six, if someone calls off. Dirt clings to the sides like a bad memory, but the inside isn't particularly horrible if you ignore the floor mats. His passenger seat is almost always occupied by a toolbox and a second box of "ranch junk," as he calls it; any tools too big to fit find themselves on the floor or in the back seat.
He'll clean it every other month just to keep things from getting too bad, but it's not something he puts a ton of concern into. He can spend hours scrubbing it over the weekend and have it just as dirty come Friday.
This could vary depending on the house you imagine, but the house I use to blueprint my writing has a two-car garage. Bob and Reader's vehicles occupy it, while a double-wide carport sits outside, home to Rhett's two trucks. It only makes sense; Bob and Reader's vehicles are clean, daily drivers. Rhett's work truck would track mud onto the garage floor, and the old GMC Sierra has been promoted to the near-exclusive role of date night vehicle.
Rhett's not exactly the car guy; he can do an oil change and minor garage things, but machines aren't truly his thing. He can YouTube it and probably get the job done, but there's no guarantee he did it right or if it'll last.
Bobby, on the other hand, grew up fixing farm equipment; it's almost second nature to him. He's pretty handy at these sorts of things; he'll call for Rhett to give him a hand or use him as an errand boy every now and then, but he generally works best alone.
Rhett's extremely reluctant to work on luxury brand vehicles. A lot of times, those vehicles have tech that requires special training, and he's very aware of his subpar skill set. He'd rather inconvenience you and take you to the dealership for maintenance than do it by himself and risk fucking up your fancy car.
Bob tries not to play the "I'll never work on this vehicle" card, but he's not a big fan of Nissan's. He went through two in college; one was a money pit full of endless problems, and the transmission failed on the one he got to replace it. Probably bad luck, but he's got a bias against them. Like Rhett, though, he'll suck it up and work on them if the Reader owns one.

The Disappearance of Jeffrey Andrew Dupres
Tumblr media
July 6, 2023
On April 24, 1980, a 3 year old boy named Jeffrey Andrew Dupres and his mother, Denise, were outside their home in Slave Lake, Alberta, Canada. Just before 1 pm that day, Jeffrey told his mother he was going to play with his next door neighbour, a 5 year old named Rodney.
Denise went inside and switched over her laundry, the window was opened. A few minutes later Denise heard Rodney’s dad calling out for him to come inside. At this point Denise looked out the window and did not see Rodney or Jeffrey. Denise believed that Jeffrey had gone inside Rodney’s house with him.
About 20 minutes went by when Rodney showed up at Denise’s door asking for Jeffrey. Realizing he was missing, Denise immediately called the police at 1:45 pm. The police actually told Denise they were too busy and suggested she continue to look for her son with neighbours.
At 2:20 pm, Denise called police again. It took them over an hour to get to her house. There were hundreds of volunteers that showed up to look for little Jeffrey, with the news of his disappearance spreading quickly. Jeffrey’s father, who had been working away, Ray, came home and the two parents searched for their son for the rest of the night.
On April 25, 1980, the search continued. Teachers and 200 students from high school helped searched, and throughout the day many of the same locations had been checked multiple times with no luck.
The community really came together to search for the little boy, taking it extremely seriously. One man even quit his job supposedly when he was told he would not be allowed to have time off to help search.
Denise had asked authorities multiple times if they could get the Armed Forces Search and Rescue to come help look for her son, however they ignored her pleas, and the Armed Forces did not show up for almost a week.
Soon enough, a witness came forward and her and her two kids who also witnessed the abduction were flown into Edmonton and hypnotized.
Supposedly the woman who kidnapped Jeffrey was an “attractive female in her mid-20′s.” She was about 5′2 feet tall, 110 pounds with shoulder length brown hair. The truck she was riding in was a 1978-1980 custom painted Chevy/GMC short box pickup with chrome bumpers and wheels. The driver of the truck was a male in his early 30′s who was clean shaven, with short reddish-blonde hair.
Both of Jeffrey’s abductors were described as “relatively small.” Apparently this woman was seen trying to get Jeffrey to go towards the truck. When Jeffrey got close enough she grabbed him and the truck drove off.
Despite there being a witness who came forward, Denise herself was accused of murdering Jeffrey in the summer of 1980. They asked her to do a lie detector test.
In 1986, an investigator stated that he had a gut feeling Jeffery was still alive. The same year, the national missing children’s database was developed and Jeffrey’s case was compared to 100 other missing children. There was never any “tell-tale” similarities according to investigators.
If the woman and the man who abducted Jeffrey were alive today, the woman would be in her 60′s and the man in his 70′s. If Jeffrey was alive today he would be 46 years old.
It has been over 43 years since Jeffrey Dupres was abducted and there is no further information on his case.
Tips can be sent to Slave Lake RCMP by calling 780-849-399. An independent tip line has been set up by Recover Agency offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to Jeffrey’s whereabouts.
