Within a realm of darkness lies a castle made of pure blot — dark as night, dark as the abyss. And nestled within the tallest tower, a winding spire of endless staircases designed to tire out those without other means to get to the top, is a quaint little bedroom of the utmost comfort.

A humming melody fills the air as blot-slickened hands grasp the edges of a soft sheet carefully, pulling them up to cover the slumbering bodies nestled within a veil-covered canopy bed. Malleus smiles at the sight of his family together once more — the three of them snuggled up against each other in the middle of the massive bed, Sebek to one side, Silver to the other, the two of them sandwiching Lilia between.

What a fool he was, to believe the ideal solution to make everyone happy would be to give them all their own, individualised dreams; Silver had broken out of his own nigh instantly before going on a little rampage, tearing both Sebek and Lilia away from their perfect fantasies before Malleus finally intervened and put a stop to it. Perhaps it worked for the other students all slumbering within their own dreams — but for Malleus' little family, the correct answer would have been bringing them all together under his watchful eye, right from the start.

A swell of warmth blooms to life within his cold chest as his eyes run over the three of them. Leaning in, he brushes a clawed finger along Sebek's cheek, threads a hand through Silver's hair, and leans in to press a kiss against Lilia's cheek, smiling at the little smudge of blot that rests against pallid skin.

They will be happy here together, under his watchful eye, under his ever-present care. And should anyone find a way to intervene, determined to rip this dream to shreds?

Well, Malleus cannot be letting that happen now, can he?
